Oliver's Pantry in Harrogate

We enjoyed our breakfast here so much we came back again the following morning! Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Great for dogs. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Olivers has been my main go to cafe in Ripon for some years. Always good service, nice food and tempting cakes. I would say though, their Chai Latte is made from syrup and unbearably sweet. At 300 cals a cup, I'd stay away from that... unless you're trying to put weight on and have a very sweet tooth! Other than that, I can't fault it.

Absolutely amazing custom and food is fantastic as always!! We always come here and will carry on, we have always had a great experience and lovely food to follow

Called in by pure chance as we needed a bite to eat and drink,directed to the first floor by very smiley courteous lady behind counter as you walk in. Best way to describe is that the decor is old style,school/village hall.We were quickly seen and chose the BLT with a side of fries and cafetière of coffee. Soon arrived and I have to say the bread was delicious the bacon thick and cooked perfectly just spot on.Coffee strong so we asked for some more hot water and milk which was swiftly delivered .Absolutely perfect ,food,service 5 star.

Friendly warm welcome on entering Oliver's Pantry and offered seating upstairs or down. Chose a table downstairs next to an interesting curio display! Ordered flat white, cappuccino and two scones, all of which hit the spot after travelling to Ripon from South Yorkshire. Great service and refreshments!

Ate here three times with my good lady when visiting the lovely ripon excellent food superb service would recommend it .

The food (big breakfast) was ok. Not amazing but ok. The place was too busy for me. Very noisy and busy. Food took a long time to come but it was busy so that's understandable. The Park Runners were in so maybe it's not normally like this. The toilet wasn't as clean as it could be.

I found this place tucked away in a quiet corner of Ripon. It was busy but I found a table upstairs. We enjoyed our lunch of poached eggs and mackerel and pea frittata with delicious salad accompaniments. The staff were friendly. I would seek this cafe out again next time I visit this area.

3 night stay in Ripon and ate lunch here 2 of the 3 days. Lovely freshly cooked food with lots of choice. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

Lovely food with good choice for people on special diets. I am vegetarian and gluten intolerant but the staff checked whether I was coeliac or not, whether my chips could go in the regular fryer etc. We really enjoyed our visit here. Staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. Highly recommend Oliver's Pantry.

4 people for lunch today. Husband is gluten intolerant - server asked if intolerant or caeliac (knew what doing) so was reassured. Excellent food. We had the halloumi and beef burgers. Delicious salads, great burger. Excellent tea & coffee. Great service. Would highly recommend.

Really disappointed with our visit to Oliver’s pantry. The porridge was disgusting, the banana was brown and was swimming in a watery gruel. So much so that the waiters even said “you could go for a swim in that”. Despite mentioning it to staff, I was told that the kitchen was really busy. I only managed a couple of mouthfuls of porridge oats, half the banana and left the soup.

We went as a family of six for a birthday breakfast for my mum on the way to Thirsk Races. The food was lovely with a huge selection of options, it made a really nice start to the day. The staff were so nice, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble 😊. We would definitely recommend it. Thanks also for the racing tips.....we backed a winner with the jockey with the purple cap 🐴😊

Great cafe with quirky mismatched furniture and a sheltered courtyard outside eating area. Interesting menu with something for everyone and some amazing looking cakes! Friendly staff. Service not as quick as we might have liked, but it was busy and everything is cooked fresh to order, so it was understandable. I particularly liked that chips were an add on rather than a standard part of a dish. The menu is also flexible in that burgers can be naked or topless.

We have had lunch a few times here and always enjoyed it. Decided to try the burgers for the first time, one of them had a big piece of cartilage that nearly broke my hubby's tooth! The mince should be checked before making them to avoid this. They both had unnecessary mayo on that made the buns very soggy so a bad choice this time.

Lovely sunny day and we sat out the back eating a prawn sandwich and fishfinger wrap. I loved the homemade coleslaw. Very friendly staff particularly our enthusiastic waitress. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and a lovely place to sit in - especially when it was raining. Bigger than it looks from the front and a nice buzz. We had chicken kebabs and meatballs flatbread and recommend them. Cappuccino also first rate. Very friendly team there too.

This place used to be really good - but something has changed and the quality has deteriorated. We only ordered scones and coffee. The coffee was tepid and not even hot. But the scones were a disgrace. I do a lot of baking myself and these scones were hard, heavy, leaden and tasted of baking powder. The currents were like chewing on small bits of leather. I can only imagine how many days these scones have been hanging around for to reach that state. We certainly won't be back.

We'd passed Oliver's pantry on a few occasions & it always appeared busy which in itself is a good thing but I didnt want to wait too long be seated. However, I've learnt today that they do have additional seating upstairs. We called in today about 3pm got seated easily. The food was delicious I had the harrissa & mint chicken Kebab served on a flatbread with a lovely selection of salad which was more than just a few leaves, sultanas, shredded carrot, pomegranats & more. We ordered the meatball flatbread which was just as inviting. We ordered fries aswell everything we ordered was tasty & a nice sized portion. Staff friendly & great service. good value for money.

Called in with my daughter and her boyfriend for lunch on a Sat. Were seated and offered drinks straight away. 5 minutes later came back for food order and even though i was undecided between two items, the young member of staff recommended option B. It was the correct choice. The lady who took our drinks order i remember how good she was a few years ago and also asked about her previous employment in which she was also good. Even though busy she was still happy to exchange pleasantries. The food and drinks were excellent and we shall be returning.

Popped in with the kids after school on 22nd of March. Greeted by a lovely enthusiastic member of staff who seated us and took our order. A different member of staff brought our order out which was wrong. When I pointed the errors out she grabbed everything and huffed and puffed her way back to the counter without saying a word to us. Next she brings out a semi correct order, when I pointed out there was something missing she mumbled something and again huffed and puffed her way back to the counter. She did bring said missing item back to the table but basically dropped it on the table and stormed off. I get everyone can have a bad day but don’t work in hospitality if you can’t control it. Food and drink great as always. Shame because Oli P’s was our go to cafe.

Absolutely lovely staff. All super smiley! From overhearing, the owner was called Lou… absolutely marvellous woman!! Such a beautiful character and ever so bubbly and fun! Food was fabulous, as it always is. I had one of the veggie breakfasts which was to die for, and my friend had a meatball flatbread. Both fabulous. Only critique is their use of Marleys butchers… heard some horrendous things about how they look after their animals and subsequently the quality of the meat that they sell. So wouldn’t be keen to have anything meaty as long as Marleys is the supplier. But other than that, the cafe is absolutely fantastic! Great atmosphere! Always love going!! Love love LOVE OPs!!!

We were directed to Oliver's Pantry by a well know coffee shop situated in the square as we were looking for gluten free lunch menu and the staff in there were helpful. On entering Oliver's we were greeted like long lost friends even though we had not been before. All the staff were chatty and helpful and the food - gluten free - was great, we spent the day in Ripon visiting the Cathedral and a couple of museums and then returned to Oliver's for coffee/tea and cake.

Visited for lunch. Nice atmosphere and fairly busy. My wife ordered the Thai salmon fishcakes. They were very small, dry and looked and tasted more like falafel. She suggested I taste them to make sure and I agreed - very dry and no discernable taste or visible salmon. We got the notice of a waitress and politely enquired as to were they in fact falafel. She appeared quite taken aback and stated they were "our take on salmon fishcakes" My fish finger wrap was disappointingly two birds eye frozen fish fingers and not the home made type i was expecting. Salad was ok , overdressed and appeared to be the same on every dish we saw come out of the kitchen. The scone was extremely dry and poor quality. We did indeed repeat our disappointment to the waitress when asking for the bill, however no apology or feedback was given. Went in Booths after and purchased two of their well portioned and tasty salmon fishcakes for £1.65!

We called in for lunch recently, it was very busy but managed to get a table upstairs that we prefer. Had the breakfast and soup and sandwich. The bacon was a bit overcooked and hard but he enjoyed it. I chose the BLT which was nice but slightly spoiled by the strange tasting mayo, normal mayo would have been better or none at all? The cakes looked amazing, still to try when not worrying about calories 😊 Service was great and everything reasonably priced. Will definitely return in the near future

The staff are so friendly and inviting. The whole place has such a friendly vibe too. The patio area looked lovely but due to the rain it was closed. We had a full English breakfast and were told the sausages and bacon were sourced from a local butcher. The food was delicious and the staff delightful. We went back later for tea and meringue and it was delicious and the staff equally friendly and attentive.

A small wait for a table but acknowledged on entrance by staff menu & handed a menu. (We know from before, tables tend to come free quickly) We shared a large table, this was offered but definitely made to feel we could decline it, then offered another table for 2 as soon as one became free, which was very kind. The staff are so friendly, the menu is vast, the portions just right & very reasonably priced. Great coffee too! We did, of course, have to bring cakes home & I've just enjoyed a delicious Portuguese egg tart and he has done the same with a portion of carrot cake.

Lots of more imaginative vegan options which was really appreciated. The quality of the food was really good and the service was friendly. Would recommend.

One of regular lunch spots but took some friends who had not been before. We all agreed, fantastic food, great value and fast, friendly service. Their cakes and desserts are a must The atmosphere is always excellent and if it is not raining, a lovely outdoor area.

My Parents, my Sister and I visited at around 9.30 on the 27th December 2023. We were very disappointed. First of all it was incredibly noisy. My Mum described it as a 'hell hole,' it was that loud. She couldn't even hear what we we're saying half the time and we were only across the table. Second, when the Server brought our cutlery, she dropped a fork on the floor. Rather than take it away and bring a clean one, she just picked it up and put it on our table!!!! Finally, the food. We would all describe it as acceptable, however it soon went cold (including the 'hot water' in the teapot). Not somewhere we would visit again.

Stumbled on this fabulous eatery when mooching around Ripon looking for lunch. The menu in the window looked great and it did not disappoint. The harissa mint chicken skewers deserve a mention as does the fish finger roll! Both very reasonably priced and you got a lot on your plate. The salad was also great, species red cabbage coleslaw. The Christmas specials are also a great touch that I haven’t seen in many other cafes of a similar nature. The staff were absolutely lovely, the right amount of chat before leaving us to enjoy our food and drink. We will definitely be coming back to Oliver’s when we next visit Ripon!

We visited for lunch having poached eggs on toast, coffee and brownies. Despite it being the Xmas market at the Cathedral nearby, service and food were excellent. Good menu options and very welcoming. Will return and thankyou

This is a perfect example of food done right. Nothing is overly complex but everything is cooked from scratch and made with care. The staff arew welcoming and they seem to love their work

Great find when we stopped in Ripon for breakfast. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and food very good quality and freshly cooked. Big breakfast and avocado on toast both excellent plus tea in a pot and a good glass of juice.

We discovered this great cafe as part of the new Ripon food tour from Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours. We’ll definitely be going back, great food, friendly welcome, lovely atmosphere. Menu looks great and our tasting was delicious, from the breakfast menu I think.

Whilst staying in Ripon for a week we ate at a number of the cafes. This was our favourite. All the staff are friendly and polite with excellent service. The menu gives lots of choice and we all enjoyed the food we ordered. The loose leaf fruit tea was very good compared to fruit teas had elsewhere. The decor I liked and the low volume music gives a nice vibe. We plan to return to buy some of the cakes from the shop yum yum!!

Lovely little cafe in Ripon; the ladies were so lovely and accommodating and the food was amazing! Great options for food; lots of healthy options and good portion sizes. They also have a kids menu and a dogs menu!

We had a coffee and cakes at Oliver's Pantry the day before and was sufficiently impressed that we decided we would go back for breakfast the next day, Sunday. The food was superb , we both had Benedict, one with salmon and one with ham, both were good quality ham and salmon. What spoilt it and was no direct fault of Oliver's Pantry, were the dogs. What do dogs do when they see a strange dog ?...bark repeatedly. My stress levels rose, I was there for a quiet Sunday morning breakfast, not to be barked at and I came close to walking out, but fortunately , the yappy offending 4 legs, decided to behave.

Lovely food, efficient and friendly service. We turned up a group of 7 on a rainy day and the place was packed but the queue was very efficient and we soon got seated. Loved the quiche and puddings were brilliant.

Food was really good and varied. Staff were solider friendly and efficient. The smoothies and milkshakes were a real hit as was the English breakfast, waffles, pancakes and avocado on sourdough. It was so good, we ate here everyday we were in Ripon! Highly recommend
