Excellent service from Ripy with great tasting coffee. Also bought their small rye roll covered in seeds - very filling & delicious. This café is ideal because if it has babies & dogs they are well-parented, sweet children & calm, lovely pooches. There are also plenty of "corners" for everyone's needs - quiet corner, big table private group area, large spaces for pushers & the outside tables. All very thoughtfully set up. 5***** from me.

Great pit stop for my morning coffee. The coffee is always consistently good and know you will be left satisfied The staff are always friendly and recognise my repeat custom. I’d like to thank Nathalie for her exceptional kindness this morning that allowed for me to still get my morning coffee fix as I left home without my bank card and no Apple Pay due to having phone stolen earlier this week. This is my favourite cake shop in Windsor. I just came out of hospital and was feeling very low. My cousin decided to cheer me up and spoke to the sales man Ali, who felt a deep sympathy for me. He gave us her great customer service and a gift from Öle and Steen that we will never forget. We love the service and the cakes, and also Ali put a smile both in our hearts and on our faces. My wife and I dropped in for mid-morning coffee and a bun. Walking past uncleared tables, we should have moved swiftly to the exit door. I ordered what we wanted with no issue, the counter staff were fine. But once i sat down I realised how filthy the place was. Most of the tables were covered with crumbs, and many were uncleared. The floor was unswept. I told the counter staff and two people made a half hearted attempt to rectify these issues. It was ineffective, both inside and out. All this for nearly 20 quid. There was no toilet paper in the loo. Dismal, shan't return.

Firstly, this is easily my favourite spot to grab a quick bite, their pastries are the best you will find in Windsor. It has a wonderful area to sit both indoors and outdoors - perfect for revision, or just catching up with friends. But more importantly, the service is top tier, I always have a lovely interaction with the staff who are so joyful and polite. More specifically the lovely man named Russell, who was so incredibly kind this morning, and every other day I have been served by him. He is always so smiley and chatty, and as an A-level student who doesn’t always have the best of days, this really puts a smile on my face. It is top quality customer service like this that makes me remember a place, hence the fact I order from this specific Ole&Steen most days.

Ole and Steen appear to have a great reputation in some other stores but not sure that Windsor location can add up to this. It's a shame as it has a prime location. 'No Waste Great Taste' is their trademark saying and yet more often than not I observe their fresh pastry lying on the floor. This brings into question general hygiene standards, which is backed up by reviews and poor cleaning standards around their seating areas. Definitely more pride and training/support needs to be instilled in their staff and... all they need to do to avoid needless food waste and questionable hygiene standards is make a quick fix to the design of their pastry stacks... How hard can it be?

Amazing service from Ripy Sagan. Great food - had the cinnamon social pastry - highly recommend. Coffee perfect. Enjoy our visit all the way from New Zealand.

I bought the festival buns and they are delicious and the service from Zac was outstanding I highly recommend the food and I will definitely be going back

Their Danish deli, specially cakes & sandwiches are excellent with Scandinavian top quality. We received very warm welcome with good serving manner of the staffs. Sat afternoon is a bit busy. We like a calm atmosphere!

After using the toilets before I order my lunch, I decided not to order at all ! The toilets 🚻 were absolutely filthy. The tables hadn't been cleaned and TBH I had concerns on hygiene full stop . The staff totally engaged in thier own conversation and didn't seemed bothered at all .considering they were quite I'd have thought a cloth in hand wouldn't have gone amiss. That's actually being polite . Went into Gayle's with lovely staff ,clean, tidy and they were run off thier feet " so I'm voting with mine " never ever will I even go through the door!!

Food and coffee very nice but quite expensive. We only go to Windsor 3 or 4 times a year so OK as a special treat - wouldn't do it every week, too expensive. Staff can be a bit inattentive, chatting and talking about rotas whilst serving.

After writing a rather scathing review several months back and loving the Ole and Stein smoked salmon rolls I decided to give this another go in the hopes that someone from their management team would have read theses reviews and done something about it. Unfortunately not. Still staff standing around chatting and ignoring customers, still ridiculously long queues to get your coffee, still uncleared tables and filthy floors and don’t ask me about the state of the toilets, an absolute disgrace.

Absolutely terrible. Looked great from the outside but once inside, service is slow, servers are impolite and the place is filthy. Tables aren’t cleared, so nowhere is clean

I used to really like ole and steen in Oxford but unfortunately the Windsor version is way off the mark. The place is filthy from crumbs on the chairs and tables to filthy unswept floors. The help yourself water tap and plug hole is always caked in limescale and the plug hole is black with dirty stains. I feel like I need a good shower and sanitise after my visit here. Awful and unacceptable

This should be a 5* cafe but it fails on several levels.  I live nearby and visit this and other Windsor coffee shops on a regular basis.  The coffee and buns are OK but the positive reviews stop there.  There seems to be plenty of staff but the tables are not cleared and cleaned quickly enough. Occasionally the service is OK but on the whole it's poor.  You need to take a copy of War &  Peace in with you to read while your coffee is being preared.  The time taken to get your coffee you will probably forgotten what you ordered. There needs to be more than one staff member preparing coffees. There can at times be several staff behind the counter but efficient they are not.  Sometimes they can be talking amongst themselves when they should be concentrating on service.  You can't really blame the young staff, they need to be properly managed.

We were tired and just wanted something quick before leaving Windsor. The queue was not long but the service so slow my friend text me to see if I’d got lost! The croissant was first class but that was it. The coffee awful just milky and no taste to it. The tables needed clearing by our table was 3-4 trays, my friend had to clear it and then wipe it down with a paper napkin.

I had tried this place when it first opened and I was unimpressed by the poor, disinterested and slow service. Thought it was just teething problems but just as bad today. Ten minute wait for coffee with no apology and had to stand with sandwich waiting as no clean tables. Food nice but expensive and second time I’ve gone in and app doesn’t work so lose out on loyalty points. Disappointing and won’t be returning.

We went here for brunch and it was very enjoyable. I had a mozzarella and pesto sandwich that was lovely. Then had a chocolate and coconut marshmallow which was also nice but a the portion was too large. My iced latte was exquisite very creamy but not weak. Will definitely be returning but not a place to go for breakfast just brunch and lunch.

When I walked into the shop 1st thing I noticed was the sheer number of staff they had working behind the counter as Servers. There were a lot of Staff. More than I’ve seen in any bakery/cafe. There was 1 lady in front of me deciding what to buy as I was then she was served. When it came to me they all disappeared 1 by 1 to the other side of the counter talking amongst themselves. The 3 that were left on the main counter side, turned their heads to the side and were also engaged in their own conversation, so I couldn’t even get their attention, as they purposely did not look my way. It was pretty clear that none of the Staff wanted to serve me so I said to my Dad let’s go and we left the shop. The guy behind me as well as my Dad saw it all unfold. Shameful. Never expected in this day and age to not be served because of the colour of my skin. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

We were enticed in yesterday having seen the buns in the window of the store. Service was first class. There were plenty of staff so hardly any wait for coffee. Plenty of vegan choices so our daughter was happy. I had an amazing cinnamon bun - just tried not to think about the calories !! All in all a top experience and we will return !

We had a large capuccino with Cinnamon Social and a gf Chocolate Gateau with decaff Latte and everything was really nice if a bit on the expensive side. The Cinnamon Social was excellent but would be nice warmed up and the coffee was on the mild creamy side so needed an extra shot. There was only 2 gf options but the gateau was lovely. Service was reasonably efficient and pleasant, seating comfortable and the toilets clean. Would eat here again.

Generally I like Ole and Steen so thought I’d pop in with my daughter for a drink. Unfortunately the person making the drinks was more concerned with discussing someone’s birthday in a local nightclub than concentrating as he just left the milk to heat until it was scalding. This always ruins a milky coffee so not the best. My daughters hot chocolate just tasted like hot milk so I asked for a replacement which someone else made and it was much better. More focus needed!

Lovely staff and great coffee were served. The eats were delicious. The odd thing was that they didn't accept cash which made a few people leave.

Fabulous food, but… Disinterested staff, filthy eating area and non functioning toilets. And dreadful coffee. Plenty of nicer places in Windsor to spend your money.
