Pizza Express in Windsor and Maidenhead

The usual great service and food at PE. My granddaughter loves the vegan margarita!

Worst pizza I’ve ever had.. £21.20 for a supposedly large classic pizza (new) It was basically a Romano not a classic. Not only that but only half the pizza had cheese on it !! Some slices had zero cheese !!! Absolutely appalling and disgusting to pay this money and get no ingredients unless you order extra I suppose .. never again.

3rd time I’ve ordered & my GF pizza turns up with hardly any topping on it. I paid for extra cheese. Toppings don’t even go to the edge of the pizza. It’s dry and looks like £1 pizza from Poundland. And for comparison - my friends pizza next to it. Don’t bother ordering take out - its diabolical

Great tasting food, friendly staff, nice and cosy atmosphere.

Ordered on Deliveroo, it took around an hour to arrive and when it did the food was all sweaty and rubbery so it was like chewing a tyre. Definitely not worth the money. If you want pizza at home stick to the companies that know how to do delivery.

Everything is good except the taste of the pizza

It was a great experience, we were served well and the interior of the restaurant is decent.

We are a regular customer to Pizza express and been to different areas of this food chain. Pizza express, bridge street, Maidenhead did not impress us that much. I dont know why, felt staff was in a kind of rush. They were polite but seems in rush. We had ordered few vegetarian options, out of which Polenta chips were little burnt and my 6 yrs old daughter couldn't finish it because of burnt smell. Bruschetta originale and garlic bread was yummy, but calzone was not so appealing in taste. Overall experience was okay but I would not want to go there again, as finding parking was difficult.

This place has a few good things going for it but also a few not so great. Let's start with the good such as a lot of space for sitting down with the food bring of a good quality and presented nicely. Unfortunately, the staff from time to time would wait around despite food sitting there ready to be served out. The price is also expensive for what your getting. Another big issue is the lack of parking available which means if your lucky you will find a space close by otherwise you will need to walk a short while to get here.

Yesterday me and my husband went to this restaurant. Food was good but customer service is poor. We ordered dessert and it was taking too much of a time so we asked as usual for our order and young person/servant told us with rudeness that "what you guys expect this is restaurant not a fast food". So be prepared for that tantrums from young servant

It was a kids pizza party and we had a very good time. Staff were very kind and friendly. Nice atmosphere with floor to ceiling glass walls lots of natural light and high ceiling meant spacious feel.

Beth and Acar were incredible! All the staff! Had a last minute booking of 35 people for a work catering. Needed to be super speedy and efficient and they were just that, as well as incredibly friendly and helpful! .They made it so so easy and were so accommodating. Food came out perfectly timed for their arrival. Could not have asked for more!

I thought this was a Pizza place but instead I was sent a cremation…for edible Pizza go to Presto next door.

Tried to order three takeaway pizza’s via Uber Eats. After an hours wait an no updates, I got Uber to cancel the order. One to avoid.

Food from here was disgusting, the pizza and dough balls were cold and chewy and looks like something out of a freezer but we could of got better from the freezer! We spent £30 pound on 2 pizzas where we could of gotten the same result spending £2.50!

Good food that you can rely on!

A 12th birthday lunch for eldest child and friends, with parents in close proximity! The menu has obviously changed little over the years, and the food is very much “it is what it is”, however the outstanding service today from Lucas made the whole lunch a thoroughly enjoyable, and low-hassle, experience. From the moment we arrived, Lucas was engaging, polite to a fault, and outstanding in his punctilious service. Both children and grown-ups were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch, thanks to his hard work. Lucas is a credit to the Pizza Express business, and I hope that he receives a huge “well done” from his bosses as a result of this review. Oh, and after many years, the American Hot pizza never disappoints!

Update 23rd Sept 2023 Great pizza and service! We dined with my 2 boys and my wife and were blown away. Beth is amazing, really kind and helpful and went out of her way to make our pizza and experience the best. This restauarant is now so much better with Beth and Alan I think and Akhium (chef). Food quality and perep and taste and flavour is amazing. We will be returning more now that Beth and her team are here! Highly recommended! Amazing! Someone has got their act together in Pizza Express and we were served the best looking, best tasting and best value pizza I've seen in years, maybe a decade. Brilliant salad as a main as well. Great job... and welcome back!

Lovely evening! The missing star is for the missing cocktails - they had none of our first 3 requests from the menu But the manager and service was fantastic.

Loved my food. Went to catch up with a friend over brunch. Waiter was very friendly and quick. My pasta came nice and hot but I found the chicken pieces too big. The only thing which was disappointing is that you cannot use a reward with a student discount. I still found it quite expensive. Chips were ok, wouldn't order them again though

I ordered a pizza and appetizer and waited in the lobby of my hotel for the delivery person. They never showed up. Yet I paid for the pizza, the appetizer and the delivery fee. No one showed up. Obviously the driver couldn’t find the place. I even said in the description it was a hotel. It’s a small town. How many hotels are there. I gave the correct address. When I called Pizza Express the Manager did not make it right. She passed the buck. Oh you have to tell tye delivery app people. It’s hard to tell someone something when there is No Phone number. It’s not losing the 25 pounds it’s the principle of it. I order a product did not receive tte product. Pizza Express knows about it and did nothing. She is the worst manager with no backbone I have ever met. I’m an American from the United States visiting and I must say this would NEVER HAPPEN THERE! I didn’t realize how good our customer service is until I gave encountered a couple of things that are not cutting the mustard. Why should I pay for a pizza when the delivery person could not find the place. I gave them the address and tha name of the hotel and restaurant in a small town. It’s beyond ridiculous. Well tte staff at The Bell and Bottle which has an Indian restaurant made me a pizza for no charge. Now that is customer service. The manager at Pizza Express should be fired on the spot. She in my opinion is a coward with no backbone or what it takes to be in the hospitality business. Hiding behind the delivery people. You got paid Pizza Express your delivery service got paid and I’m sure ate my pizza. I’m very disappointed. I expected more over here. Tammy Green

The waiter was surprisingly grumpy whilst seating customers. We observed him treat several parties poorly during our meal - it was certainly entertaining but not what you expect from pizza express

Service was amazing by the waiter called Fabian dough balls where nice . Ramona pizza was a little bit thin, but both very hot nice food

I ate here solo recently, for a grey haired older woman this is not always easy to do, what a lovely experience l had. Taken to a cosy corner with a view across the restaurant where l could people watch and attended to by staff as if l was family. Great team. Good standard of food. Wish l was local.

Absolutely appalling experience. We arrived for a 1:30 reservation we had to ask for our menu at 2pm and our order was taken at 2:30. There was one waitress & a manager present but only the waitress was doing any work. She was seating people, cleaning tables, taking orders, bringing food, making drinks & bringing the bill. She was brilliant but the overall experience was shocking. When I emailed a complaint I got a standard reply and 2 free main courses - we had spent over £150. When I rang to complain the manager’s response was they were short staffed. Would not recommend and will not go back. Shameful.

We were a family group of 7 and we had a reservation for 1:30 and arrived on time- we had to go and ask for the menu at 2pm and our orders taken at 2:30. There were 7 tables occupied & one waitress doing everything- clearing tables, seating people, taking orders, bringing food, making drinks- no one else was doing anything. It was a very disappointing visit- and I’m shocked at how poor the overall experience was. Certainly have no intention of going back again.

The Food the fabulous! However it was all for naught due to the absolute rudeness of the evening wait staff who has a severe attitude. I don’t have his name, but I am sure the manager can pin point him based on tonight’s experience. (01/June/2023) This waiter literally said to us, I am busy tonight, so you may want to go elsewhere. This restaurant wants even busy, but it speak to his lousy attitude. To add insult to injury, he was complaining about the management of the restaurant to another set of guests. Very unprofessional. He got our order wrong and was just dismal. We wish we had the female member of staff to serve us as she seemed to have a much better attitude and was very helpful when we had questions. So Pizza Express Maidenhead, the food is great, but you need to do something about this server.

Shared great meal with family. Pleasant atmosphere and surroundings, waitress excellent.

Unfortunately couldn’t dine in, as the crew didn’t want to serve us, saying he is only working, and it was 5 of us, and he was waiting for a booking who were coming 15min after we arrived. I was looking really forward eating there after my competition, but were denied entry. We went cross road to Italian pizzeria and it was 1 crew working aswell, and he didn’t had problem serving us. I’m assistant manager at five guys, so I know how hard is when you don’t have staff, but I’m hospitality you should not refuse customers , you just lost 100£

What a joke of this enterprise. If u walk in at peak hours they are short of staff. If you walk in an hour before the closing hours, they are short of staff so they closed at 2130 hrs. Irrespectiveof your circumstances, they ate always short on staff. What a legendary good chain who came protect the consumer rights because if ordered over deliveroo and hour and a half ago ypu still can't collect it yourself. And guess the joke, when finally deliveroo is 9 minutes away, they think about baking it when customer is standing inside the shop. Let's just shut it down for short of staff. Atleast brand will be protected. Seriously what a Hangry joke 😑

Amazing experience. Best pizza I've ever eaten. Dough balls are amazing. Try the hot honey dough balls. Desserts are a must try! It's my all time favorite pizza joint.

I had a dinner here today, everything was very good for me, the staff were sincere and I was welcomed warmly and the food was great thank you to the pizza express maidenhead team

We had starters, pizza and dessert. I ordered a gluten-free pizza and it was very tasty. One of the few places where I like the gluten-free dough. Service was a bit slow, but nothing major.

Food was dreadful, it was deliverooed, the order was wrong with missing items. The lasagne was just sauce with barely any meat, the pizza was hot and spicy, (I ordered without the heat,) the polenta fries were soggy and tasteless, the base of the pizza was soft and soggy. It was our first and last time ordering from here. I called the restaurant who were apologetic, but I wasn't prepared to wait another hour for food.

Terrible to be honest. The staff were nice enough but service was not good and food was worse.

Ordered the same pizza on different days (La Reine with extra cheese). The first photo is of the first order...which was perfect!, and the rest of the photos are of what we recieved last night. The pizza is outstanding, when it is made correctly. I understand that with different cooks every meal might not come out the same, but consistency is important. I really would have appreciated if someone followed up with us after our complaint and at least offered to remake the pizza. Hopefully our next experience will be better.

Pizza Express just keeps going down. Overrated and overpriced food. Asked for no ice on the drink, glass came with ice. Asked for artichokes, pizza had anchovies. Asked for starters and main to come together, starters came first and pizza 15min later. It was not busy, four tables at most. Chef cooking had the sniffles, kept blowing his nose in between putting pizzas in the oven. Put me off on the chain completely.

Extremely poor levels of Customer Service. We were served today by a man who thought the world owed him a favour. I attended with my young family and asked if we could sit in the booth as my 2 year old likes the padded booth area. Considering the restaurant was empty, the rude staff member got exasperated and started throwing his hands about in the air. I was actually shocked for a minute and thought it was a joke. We agreed to sit where he said in the end, but I watched as he continued to throw his hands about as if we had asked the world of him. In the end this behaviour was so shocking we decided to leave, to which he replied 'fine get out'. Having now read the reviews online, it is apparent poor customer service and rude staff are a consistent theme at this restaurant. I have often wondered why the restaurant is consistently empty whenever I have walked past previously. Today I got my answer. SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR FROM A WORLD RENOWNED CHAIN. It is unacceptable. The fact that no other staff member or specifically shift supervisor/manager intervened, despite clearly seeing what was taking place says a lot about the incompetence levels of staffing. We will be reporting these ongoing failings to the trading standards, and the local authority have been informed of this matter, as the commercial unit deserves a reputable brand who wants to serve customers and not Pizza express after today's experience. You should be ashamed.

Hi “Manager”, I was also present with my partner during the incident. As per your comment to Sumit Anand's Review; How could you have spoken to the customers who were present yesterday, when you were not there yesterday? Moreover if you WERE there yesterday then why did you not intervene, or come and speak with us? Not very professional of you as a owner/ manager of the restaurant. It seems like you are making excuses. If you could be so kind as to check the CCTV and then tell me if what I am saying is not accurate. You will see the below; - your staff member throwing his hands about in the air, and being rude. - Shaking his head and pointing for us to leave. - NONE of your staff intervening to rectify the situation. You can see from my Google reviews that I do not very often leave reviews at all. If I do they are almost always positive about companies. I find your response very biased and inaccurate. I would like your higher management contact details, if you are unable to deal with this matter.

Not the best pizza express experience

Ordered delivery via Uber eats, wrong order was delivered, after calling store no option to remake order, simply told a refund can be given and to reorder. Despite money being take. Terrible customer service, poorly managed and and not the first bad experience here down to poor management. A big disappointment from what is otherwise a very good chain of restaurants.

Nice and clean place . Usually Ajar serves us and is always nice to us and our daughter.

Great service and delicious food

Was quiet when we dined, hence the 4 star, otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We had a lovely early-evening family meal on a Thurs - the food was great, the kids loved the kids' menu and the adults enjoyed themselves too. Above all the staff were charming, obvs happy in their work and nothing was too much trouble!

Once again you advertise gluten free pizza bases but don't have any. So again I sat there with no food while my family eat This is not the first time this has happened and I can only assume you put gluten free In your marketing to tick a box. No apology from the staff, the comment after me declaring my disappointment of no pizza was 'enjoy your meal'. I presume that was a sarcastic comment? Thanks for that.

Pizza Slow. We ordered 2 pizza and dough balls at 1.45pm. We got our pizza an hour later! The place was practically empty- one big group when we came in, that was pretty much it. The waiter took our order, brought our drinks and then pretty much disappeared. Another waiter came to check on us about 20mins later to ask how we were - we think this is when they realised that our waiter had not put our order through. They finally brought our dough balls 5 minutes later, but we had to wait much longer to get our pizza. The manager did say she would take them off the bill and that they were "short staffed". But we saw 2 waiters (who at some point both went on a coffee break without even glancing at our still empty table) and 3 people in the kitchen, so we did not really understand what she meant. Our pizzas were good, but they had used the wrong base for one of them. Anyway. We had to physically get up from our table (which had not been cleared of empty plates) and walk towards the till to get our bill. They had charged us for the dough balls which were supposed to free through the app. The waiter went back to talk about it to the manager, twice. In the end they did not charge us for anything, and the waiter came back to say "you're free to go". Poor form from the manager who should have come to apologise, really. It was our second time at this branch - last time service was already slow (same waiter) despite the half-empty room. We wasted so much time there for what we thought was going to be a quick lunch, which meant we were not able to go to a couple of shops we had planned to visit in a nearby village. We will not come again.

Excellent pizza every time. Kids had a margarita each and me & ‘hug-band’ shared a calabrese, which was delicious!!!

Esto de express es relativo, tardaron 15 minutos en tomarme nota y más de media hora en traerme la calzone, cuando ya casi me habia terminado la cerveza. Al menos la calzone estaba buena, por esto lo valoro con 3 estrellas, porque el servicio regular, y eso que tenían 3-4 cocineros

Oh dear. This has driven me to write a first ever review. Staff were fine and polite, restaurant seemed clean, only a couple of customers, but the food was awful. Mostly I’d say just disappointing, the King Prawn Legera pizza I ordered was rather oversold. I counted three tiny sandwich style prawns, it wasn’t cooked properly and barely qualified as a margarita. It really was the most awful food I’ve ever paid for. It really tasted awful - vinegary. I think they wanted to sell this pizza but couldn’t afford the ingredients. Maybe the chef was inexperienced. Sadly the most hideous food I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. And I used to live pizza express. My advice would be avoid Maidenhead Pizza Express at all costs.

Honestly where to start. Lunch rush was clearly over and there were only 4 other tables in there. Plenty of staff on but you wouldn't have known it. Waited ages to order, when we finally were able too the server was so unfriendly and clearly didnt want to be there. We ordered 2 kids drinks along with the adult ones, they were not delivered to the table. When we asked for them AFTER the kids had finished their food, the waiter said "I already gave them to you" to which he then looked at the table and went oh "I only bought the cokes and coffee, do you still want them or should I just refund them".. kinda defied to point of us asking for them in the first place.... he then said only 1 was ordered (we had asked for 2 from the start) and if we only wanted 1.. again we stated still 2 so he added it to the bill and finally got them. We had water on the table upon arrival but no glasses for it, again we had to ask for these after we ordered. The kids had then spilt the water to which I instantly asked for tissues so I could clear it up, again was ignored, after about 10 minutes and using our cutlery napkins to try and mop some of it up, I went up to the other two servers just standing around and asked for tissues and more cutlery as ours was dirty. Again a few minutes later they finally came over with them. The original server was then seen/heard raising his voice at the chef and then the rest of the team who were I'm the glasses area. The food was barely warm when it arrived, the pizza was edible but the pasta bolengse was inedible. but we had been out since 10am that morning and it was now gone 3pm by the time we got the food and the kids were getting restless and hungry so we just ate it and paid and left. We were then given the wrong paper bill and the card machine amount was different so we checked the app to see the actual bill and paid it via the card machine. We then let the server know and he held us there to check with his manager as he then thought he paid the wrong table off after us telling him it was just the paper one that was incorrect. Honestly, the service here was awful especially when there were so many staff there and only 4 other tables. We will not be returning.

This is nowhere on par with any other pizza express I have ever been to. Glasses and cutlery in the table were dirty. We had to wait so long for our food that the table behind us, who came after us were severed and eaten before we had even received our food. When the doughballs came the server asked us to watch out for them being hot but they were Stome cold and had to send them back. The mains were ok but not the best. Staff just didn't feel like they water to be there. For the amount of money we paid it was definitely not worth it. Will not be returning.

I had planned a lunch party for my wife's birthday and had a great time. The staff were really friendly and the food was great. The ambience was great as i had booked in advance and the staff members took special care to ensure the day was really special.

Got a take away, and was extremely disappointed. The pizzas were really small and paper thin. For some reason, they were also uncut? The dough was rubbery and lacked taste. The toppings were sparse -one of the pizzas we ordered was supposed to have tomatoes on it; there was a half of a cherry tomato. One. Completely unsatisfactory.

This is very much a family restaurant if you looking for a quiet place to dine out this is not the place to go. Food is great my family had thin base pizzas and they all said they were so tasty I had lasagne which was delicious.

It's what you expect from the brand, which is one of my reliable favourites. Nothing exceptional about the location, though the town is stretching to meet this restaurant (which has been here for years) with the new Chapel arches waterside development. Good service from table staff who pointed out the new app with offers and helped get started. Can't score it 5 stars just because there are pizza express restaurants with more personality, but equally nothing wrong here.

We went to the restaurant for lunch, l ordered a thin crust pizza. It was full, not like sometimes you only see a few scattered on it. This was a proper one, l was very happy and the homemade chocolate dessert was really yummy and light.The owner mentioned they made it at the premises with natural ingredients.😊

I tried to call to order take away but no one answers the phone. I got a problem with up, it won’t accept my phone number for delivery besides if I ordered take away I can’t pay with gift card which I’d like to use.

Overall the experience was nice and would recommend going here. No wow factor as it's Pizza Express and you mostly know what to expect. We were given a vegan menu only ( by mistake) and so I thought to myself ... "how progressive is Pizza Express?" ... and "ummmm not for me" :o/ . We got the other menu and ordered.
