Didn't have food yet maybe another time. The atmosphere is great the staff friendly and attentive. The prices fair. Great place for a meal and drink.

My friend had chicken burger which she was full of praise but my lasagne although was quite nice the edges where burnt and the portion of chips was expensive for the amount you get.

Well done, choose the lunch time menu, what a great idea to have smaller portions, as not everyone wants a large meal, also had the mini dessert the waitress was very pleasant and attentive, see you again.

Brought visiting friends for a lunch time treat and that’s just what it was, they hard a hard time choosing from the varied menu and said they made the right choices, food hot, quickly served and plentiful. Staff friendly and courteous as usual, friends very impressed and advised they would like to go again when they visit us. Well done Wirral Hundred, another gold star from me.

Had gorgeous fish and chips, so fresh and honestly such good value. Lots of good wine choices too! The kids loved their pizzas.

Went for dinner with my 2 children we all had fish and chips and it was delicious. We all had the apple crumble with custard for desserts and they were yummy. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help us.

Hunters chicken was tasty. Not too much portion are fair.

Nice pub restaurant , was a bit quiet when we arrived at 1700 but by the time left at 1900 was becoming very busy . There was a wait for food of about 25 minutes but we was advised when we put our order in . I had a Margherita Pizza which was lovely and tasty , all meals where served to ud with a smile .

Popped in for an evening meal with my wife, son and his girlfriend. Never been before so didn't know what to expect. Great bar staff and waitress service. Had an enjoyable meal and drinks all round a great pub. Thanks Sammie for the warm welcome and great smile. We will see you again soon...

On our way back from Cheshire Oaks and we called in here for lunch. They have some very reasonably priced meals and I tried out the Scampi and chips for main meal and Jam sponge pudding for dessert. Both meals were very tasty and were a good size for the price. They had a good selection of beers and ales and service was excellent. They also have large beer garden outside and quite a big carpark.

Very clean and a welcoming atmosphere. Despite it being very busy I was served quickly and made to feel like a valued customer. Staff were friendly and were constantly clearing up and keeping the place tidy

Excellent pub for food drinks & atmosphere

Great atmosphere and it’s become a favourite of mine for a mid week post gym/fish/run/any reason catch up with friends. Shout out to Izzy on the bar who always welcomes us with a friendly smile. A nice touch is the frozen San Miguel glasses on a sunny day, great idea by the pleasant manager. Thanks team.

Plenty of seating, good atmosphere and helpful staff. My chicken burger was lovely. Only negative is that garlic bread on daughters meals was burnt and inedible.

This is our second visit to have a mixed grill and both times it hasn’t been. available because you didn’t have all the meats available.No apology from staff just a blank look.

Not a bad experience. Went to watch the rugby and enjoyed the time I was there. Didn't eat and had a few pints of lager as it was a hot day and prices were reasonable.

Visiting friends in the area they bought us here - basically because they love it ! We can see why. The staff were lovely and friendly, the food was very tasty, and it was all incredible value. What a lovely, relaxing place to meet and catch up. My lasagne was delicious, and came with a very generous salad in a very scrummy dressing . My friends love the fact they serve craft beers here too. We shall keep coming back !

Good selection of beverages and fast service

As always good food reasonably priced and Sarah is great asset to the team. always enjoy our visits, whether just for a drink or food.

I go here every week with my dad. The food is great and good value. The staff are always very friendly. Would recommend.

The bar was very busy and food took a while, but we were warned and didn’t mind too much as we had the bargain Prosecco to keep us going! We both had pizza and it was delicious!

Staff were very good, but service was a bit slow (45 mins for two burgers) even though the place was fairly empty. Also the Cowboy Burger is not very special - just a bun and a plate of fries!

We had a table of 10 booked - we pre ordered some of the food and had to order some on the day. The food was great and the prices were extremely reasonable. I work round the corner and often visit alone at lunch but my colleagues said they will be coming with me now!

A great pub with an unfriendly welcome

We Popped in for early dinner, the food was excellent, staff were friendly as usual, service fast, what more can you ask for. Thanks Old Wirral Hundred for another great experience.

DON'T BOTHER. Spend £94 for 4 of us (didn't stay for deserts) 2 had mega mixed grill, one was missing the chicken went to bar to advise staff told yes there was, didn't even come to table to check,THERE WASN'T!!. No apology, made to feel like a liar. Put a dampner on our visit, none of us then finished our meal, but wasn't that great, but hey the dogs will be made up when we get home with all the meat. Won't be going back.

My friends and I have lunch every week staff are brilliant nothing to much trouble and food is always spot on we have been coming here for a few. Weeks now and will certainly be going to the tributes acts when they are on ,and if the food is as good as we have had so far we shall continue coming

Popped in to watch the Rugby with the wife and place had a great atmosphere and plenty of people enjoying the Game, football was on in other part of the pub aswell which gave it an extra sporty vibe bit not overly loud. Decided to grab a bite to eat and we both went for the New kebabs, the wife had mixed meat and I had the chicken. Both came with fries but they let me swap to chips as I'm fussy but it wasn't a problem. Food was piping hot and tasted delicious, just sadly no room for the triffle cheesecake as soooo full....Next time? All the staff were very helpful and friendly checking on every one making sure the place was neat and tidy, very impressed. Just been to celebrate mum and dad's wedding anniversary and we have had a fantastic meal. Big fat hot chips, best chips ever, hot moist chicken, scrummy sticky toffee pudding wow! Service quick, isobel on till lovely and helpful, Carol our table waitress was so warm and friendly and nothing was a problem. I booked a table, stating dad has dementia and feels the cold, we were given a table next to a radiator, dad was made up saying how lovely and warm it was. Thank you for a lovely time your all amazing especially how busy the pub was with a funeral party going on.

Don't normally don't give bad reviews but the food here was awfull, peri-peri baguette did not taste nice at all. My meal didn't come as it said on the menu had to pay extra for thing that should of been with it, wife jacket potatoes was rock hard, coffee machine gave us vile drink that staff threw away, men doing repairs in toilets whole experience was very bad sorry and I'm easily pleased. Whole set up needs looking at e.g food quality, staff training cleanliness of pub, real let down sorry.

Went for family Christmas Day Dinner. We waited an hour before any waitress came to our table and that was after we called someone over. The response was that she thought that we were waiting for more family to arrive which we weren’t ( even if we were someone should have come over to us). The tomato soup was excellent but the turkey was awful clearly not freshly carved from a roasted turkey it tasted like some sort of processed turkey. A bit odd to get a Yorkshire pudding with a Christmas Dinner but no bread sauce which was a shame. Considering the cost of the meal it was very poor with inattentive service We shall not be returning next Christmas!

I have regularly enjoyed meals at The Old Wirral Hundred but would like the thank the staff for a fantastic Christmas day meal. The whole experience was enjoyed by the whole family and we will definitely return for dinner next Christmas 2024. Many Thanks, to the Whole team. Brilliant.

We visited the Old Wirral Hundred for our family Christmas meal. It was above & beyond what we could have hoped for. The food was excellent & the staff were outstanding. Always some trepidation going out on Christmas Day - but the whole experience was fantastic. Totally recommended .

Had the festive dinner today with family the food and service was incredible. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and accommodated an allergy.

We were made so welcome. Cerys and her team looked after all our different orders and served the food really well. We'll definitely be back again.

Lovely festive meal served with a smile

Food was okay. Chicken burger was a real letdown. Bun was burnt so inedible. Chicken was really dry. Such a shame. Hunters Chicken was nice. Kids liked their kids meal.

I always have a good time at the Old Wirral Hundred. I had the festive menu this time and couldn’t fault it. Everything was well presented and well cooked, really nice.

Brilliant pub, best in Ellesmere Port by a long way. Bar staff are always conscientious and friendly and it has a nice atmosphere and a really good manager who is excellent with all customers. A great pub always has a top manager! Been in late and drunk on a week night when it’s quieter and never get rushed out. Can’t fault it at all really. Ten out of ten 👍🏻

Very spacious clean, brightly lit pub. Excellent polite cheerful professional staff. Served today by Cerys and Kayleigh. Prompt service, cash or card accepted. Food arrived quite quickly, despite being told there might be a bit of a wait. Food hot and plentiful. I had the Cowboy Burger, and my wife, the Scampi.Both were very tasty and well cooked. Cerys stopped and asked if everything was ok, but without hovering. Before leaving, my wife asked her what the Burger sauce was as she found it very moreish. Cerys informed her what it was and said she was glad we enjoyed it. Ideal visit for lunch meal, expect the evening would be equally as enjoyable. Will definitely be back, and will recommend to friends.

Fair selection of beers but maybe not the best kept. Some cloudy and risty tasting. Food not tried. Decor and comfort ok.

Bar service quick and efficient, food service the same. Enjoyable night meeting up with friends and neighbours. Music a bit load difficult to here, apart from that great 👍

I have returned to the Old Wirral Hundred about three times since my original review,, and I have updated my review score, and I am providing my reasons, as requested. Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 2/5 The food is delicious, and it has been on each visit. The atmosphere for me is not so good but then I hate football. Each time I have visited there has been a local football match playing on the TVs, which is understandable, but for someone like me wanting a quiet (ish) meal with family, it's impossible to have a conversation because the TVs are so loud. As far as service is concerned, that largely depends upon the staff member serving. On my first visit, we received the wrong order which was taken by a supervisor who reacted somewhat aggressively, and defensively, towards us when we asked about it. We backed down and accepted her error because we didn't want to cause a scene. The next three visits were better than this, but on our last visit (Wednesday, 11 October) the pub was quite busy because one section was reserved for a private event. Every empty table was full of dirty dishes and glasses, but a dark haired and plump member of staff approached a table we decided to sit at, and started clearing away the debris. She had no customer service whatsoever, she didn't smile, she didn't respond to any questions, and when asked if we would have a damp cloth to wipe the table, her face showed us that she took offence. As we wiped the table down a customer sitting nearby told us that the tables had all been like this for some time before we arrived. The slim young dark haired woman who brought our food had awesome customer service; this shows me that it's just some individuals. I understand that this venue gets busy at times, and there will also be occasions when staff call in sick leaving the pub understaffed. I feel that any frustrations, regardless of the cause, should not be taken out on customers. The food is great and very tasty, but the service by some seriously needs attention.

Visiting family in great Sutton on the wirral always visit the 100 good beer food looks great although we have,t eaten here , real ale loyalty card buy 4 get the 5th free , if you like football this is the place sky sports on loads of screens with the volume just right so it doesn't spoil a cozy chat at your table it's a good 10 from len although my names Phil

Call me with my wife for lunch. Both of us choose the pulled pork baguette with cheesy chips. The service was quick and the food was excellent, and plentiful and very reasonably priced. My wife couldn't finish all of her baguette, so Cerys, who I assume was the manager, and if she wasn't, she should be, "doggy bagged" the remainder. The pub was spotlessly clean, and the atmosphere welcoming. All the staff were polite, pleasant, and very professional. Would definitely recommend.

Came with a group of 20+ for lunch and the service from Sarah and her team was excellent. Meals were excellent and all served together .

We have been here before and had a bad experience but thought we would give it another try, wish we didn’t bother. We arrived a 7pm and sat in the lounge and were impressed how nice it was. We decided to have a snack and asked for some loaded fries. Couldn’t get any as the kitchen had been switched off yet people were eating. I was then asked if we would move to the bar as it was a quiet Saturday and they wanted to close the room off to save cleaning it later on. Not exactly happy as we wanted to talk but off we went. Got a seat in the bar no problem and then around 8:15 2 people walked in to set up a DJ and flashing lights. She was not happy as one of the cables to the speaker was not working and started swearing at the situation. At 8:30 the lights and background music went off and the DJ music started blaring out and disco lights flashing. We made a sharpe exit as could hear each other. The bar was empty therefore if you think this will bring in customers then you really need to relook at your approach and look after customers you do have. This was once one of the best pub now, don’t bother as really gone down. Needs to make up their mind what they want, sports bar, young people, family, eatery etc but not all at once.

Came this week for a little party for my 10 year olds birthday. Few of the children had different allergies one being gluten free. The staff couldn’t do enough for us to accommodate our needs especially Cerys who was very professional and was very helpful. Thankyou for a great day

A little disappointed this time, the place was around a third full but, a full 45 minute wait for the food. Chips where dried out and very crispy, the burger was edible but, really quite bland flavour wise. Didn't bother with desert as the mains where quite poor. I haven't been in around 12 months and all the staff where new faces, it will be a while before I eat there again to be honest.

Visited for early tea after coming home from Chester to Liverpool,myself,wife and two grand daughters. Ordered two fish and chips ,and two burgers. Meal was spoilt because the beef burger for one of my grand daughters was uneaten,I could see she was not eating so I tasted it and took it straight back to complain. We had finished our meals which to be fair we’re ok. But the young female chef came out of the kitchen and accepted she had more than one complaint about the beef burgers we had been served. We received a refund for that meal but why the burger was sent out like that was unacceptable and we will not go back.

Visited for lunch and the steak was like leather and cooked not to what the customer requested, staff did not apologies just took the steak off the plate and to the kitchen, really the whole plate should of been taken away. Then brought just 2 small peices of steak on a side plate and did not replace the meal,such a bad experience as they reply is we can't tell if the steak is tough Other meal came out badly presented not what you would expect. It's a shame as the food is usually good .

Call in for post run drinks and a chat after the Ellesmere port 5k run. Looks like Chester road runner will be back next year for this run again. Shame food stops at 7;55 or we would have had food as well.

Just wanted to add this pub now sells Beaverton neck oil. Nice to see some more variety on top of the usual.

By far one of the best pubs in the area.. for both food and drinks. The huge range of draught products is fantastic and prices are good for the quality you get! Certainly worth a visit and will return next time in the area.

Popped in for a drink with my Mum

Some of the food was great, the steak was poor very fatty and not cooked as asked, we ordered an apple crumble dessert which was burned, we decided we didn’t want another and asked them to know it off the tab, when coming to pay the bill the supervisor was extremely rude with my mother in law and argued with her saying that the crumble was not burnt and although we had not had the the dessert we were still going to be charged, her attitude with my mother in law was belittling and extremely rude! I then decided to go back to the till and speak to the supervisor myself and asked for a refund they would not give this so I asked for another crumble. Which they did give us but by then we were about to leave. I am really disappointed as we spent over 100 pound 2 meals the mixed grills which weren’t so great steak were chewy and not cooked correctly and sausages were burnt then the issue with the crumble then not only that the supervisors attitude was really horrible I am disappointed and with being the first visit was looking forward to come. I’m not sure I would return again and neither would the 10 of us that had booked

Good selection of cask ales at reasonable prices and numerous screens to watch the football. Good menu and large car park.

We arrived early for our meal. After making our choices we went to order and were told there would be at least an hour to wait for food and also the first two items on our order were not available. So we left and went to a pub five minutes away where we got the food we wanted without waiting.

Food was poor quality, and dogs are not allowed inside. Although this is very nearby we have no plans to visit it again. A charmless, bog standard, nothing pub.

Went there 3 weeks ago on a Monday lunch time . Food very poor , and staff even poorer . Steer clear is my advice .
