The bridge has really improved recently. Decent prices, nice burgers, and starting to improve the decor and layout. Best it's been in years

Not usually one to leave a review but unfortunately didn’t have the best experience. Food was lovely, service and atmosphere from the pub side not the best. We asked the door to be shut as my mum has recently had a throat operation and was coughing due to the smoke coming through the door. We shut it a few times but just kept be re opening. Someone came over and said we need to keep it open because “we can’t cool the glasses” this is a bit of a shocking excuse and not something I find a good reason for leaving a door open when one of their customers is literally struggling to breathe. Vaping is constantly going on which is again just rude and not considerate. I get that it’s a pub filled with regulars so people may be used to it however again, not a good enough reason to do this around other customers. Also it’s your typical local pub who is extremely clicky where whatever you do is deemed disgusting to them just cause you’re an outsider. Food was lovely and the service from The Hungry Cow was great, just shame with everything else, especially since the re opening we loved that a local pub has been re opened.

Always a great atmosphere whether it's a quiet night or packed to the rafters. Bar staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and the lads in the kitchen are very polite and make the best burgers!

Staff was very friendly, nice place to watch football. Had a Korean BBQ Chicken was very yummy.

Came for a few drinks and to order from Holy Cow and it was fab! Food brilliant and really tasty and the service was polite and friendly. We'll definitely be back for more burgers in the future!

This place is content to sell just one cask beer. The pub it's self looks inviting but the bar is a real let down.This used to be a good beer place.

Lovely visit with family, bar service great, food by Hungry Cow amazing too... struggled to order with tablet, they started cooking our order anyway, and when the tablet was fixed, they rang me at my table to let me know...nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon/evening xxx

Terrible pub now! The new management are rude, arrogant and not very welcoming. The beer wasnt great and tates like the lines haven't been cleaned recently. When we came in on Friday evening we went upstairs where the pool tables are and encountered people snorting and offered ketamin!!!! Not surprising after being informed that not only can u buy drinks and food from the bar but drugs too. Police should take a visit here!!!

Absolutely amazing food, the poutine southern fried chicken fries and the burgers are brilliant. Great friendly atmosphere, all the sports, pool table darts and bright, clean pub. Thanks

We came to Lock Vaults to see New Year in and met up with friends. Great welcome from Lou & her team. They worked really hard and it was so busy. Good atmosphere & friendly. Many thanks We will be back 👏 👏

No atmosphere it was karaoke background music no one spoke left at 10pm it's sad lots of chimney pots no competition so could be a busy pub

No cask beers on, disappointing. Limited drinks choice unless you want shots. Seem to want to attract a younger audience, which won't be good news for the locals who've kept the pub afloat in recent times

Avoid this place at all costs!!! New management is terrible, the male manager was so rude to me and my friends. Swearing at us and speaking to us as though we were dirt on the floor! No idea how this man has a job in customer service because he has no clue what it entails! We will never be returning.

The Family was walking past The Bridge Inn on a quiet Sunday afternoon when we were drawn in by the sound of live music. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the pub was almost empty, giving us the feeling of having a private gig. The pub itself is nicely decorated and sits on the canal with a nice garden. We ordered a couple of drinks and settled in to listen to the music. The duo on stage were incredibly talented and entertaining, playing a mix of classic rock and pop covers. They were constantly joking with the audience and had us all singing along by the end of the set. We had a fantastic time at The Bridge Inn and would definitely recommend it to others. It's a great place to go for a relaxing afternoon with friends or a romantic evening with your significant other.

The landlady has put a lot of thought into the interior of the pub making it one of the most pleasant pubs to visit outside off the Chester City Center. The ales are good with plenty of other choices. I went to the open mic night which was on a Monday evening from 8pm. Excellent host and performance feom all those who came along. Sound was just the right balance so you could enjoy without your ears being blasted. There are a few parking spaces for those travelling from a far. Well worth the journey to the Bridge Inn! Will be a place to be during the summer, outside in the beer garden by the canal!

Recently refurbished this is a dog and family friendly country pub offering good food and drink.offerings. friendly staff and a good range menu complete the formula. It's busy in the evenings so book if you want a table. I'm glad it's close to where I live

Went here for a pint as it’s a friendly pub for family too. Ended up having a Sunday roast for a fiver and it was excellent, it’s got lovely beer , cracking food and the staff are all very nice Oh yeah I forgot that pudding is 3.50£ We shall be returning

A welcome from the staff and good service. Food was nice and I liked the presentation. The outdoor area was a good for a pint in the sun.

A bit scruffy but nice for a drink

This is a friendly local pub. I visited s few days before Christmas and loved the atmosphere. It's a bit old fashioned but I like that, it's got character! Staff very busy but friendly. I had a glass of mulled wine and enjoyed the open fire. Didn't notice the toilets.... They can't have been that bad!

Great community pub. Jes is a sound bloke who runs a great bar. Pool, darts and function room available. On the canal side with beer garden for those rare summer days. Normally 2 cask hand pulls on. Doombar and trappers usual on offer. All sports shown on decent big screens

Visited under previous management..but really enjoying the much improved and generous menu, the plate is good tasty well seasoned..and exceptional value..the staff work hard and friendly..even providing a sticky toffee pud last minute Sunday...beers good and reasonable too.

Called in last Wednesday from our boating holiday.beautiful old pub on bank canal.Lovely interior,think it's recently been done.friendly staff and 4 quality scrumptious meals at £5 a head.games room upstairs and all sport on TV.will be calling again from Runcorn.

The landlord of Ye Gardeners Arms down the road (Jezzer) had just taken this over. He has brought the pool and darts teams with him as well as the locals for his previous pub, so hopefully it will get off to a flying start. He is giving the food a go as well. No idea what thats like though. Chef supposed to be good but who knows. Will edit when I know.

Under new management, lots of sports, darts, pool, dominoes, karaoke, folk night live band on Thursdays. Very good, home made food for extremely good prices 😀

Since I’ve lived locally to this place, it’s been through many owners, but this current incarnation is the best! There’s been a refit, new menu, and they have really friendly staff there. The garden is great for views of the canal on a nice day. I’ve never eaten there but have heard good things. The only complaint I would make is that the toilets need a good refurb to match the rest of the place, but hey, who spends that long in the toilet to be bothered by it?

This pub is the most boring pub I have ever visited. When you walk in you would think you were at a wake. Bar staff ok...ale ok...but no atmosphere at all not going there again

Living close by we have eaten here previously and it's always been fine . Last night every one of us were super impressed with quality of food and service . New manager is a true professional and the chef is lovely too . Steak night .......surpassed steaks we have eaten at many other places . Will definitely be returning and highly recommend people give the new guys the opportunity to show you their worth .

The pub recently came into new ownership and it's absolutely fantastic, lovely fresh food (no microwave rubbish or pre made meals ordered in), large variety of food and drinks, excellent value for money, this pub is suitable for anyone of any age. I'd highly reccomened a visit!

Ale on good form. Friendly bar staff. Good place to watch the footy but I went for the 6 Nations and although they were good enough to put it on a smaller TV the footy TV was too loud for us to follow the rugby

Not a place I would re-visit saying that, the two female staff who took our order and served us were charming, polite and professional. The problems started when a rather large gentleman, (I use the term loosely) put in an appearance, he may have been the owner, he exuded self confidence and a little arrogance. He used language that young children should not have heard. We were celebrating my birthday, meaning several generations were gathered together. The food was edible but nothing to write about.

I was really surprised when I walked in this old pub , it closed a few years ago after a car crashed in to the front ,it has been refurbished and is a top place to be in great food

Popped in with friends over the weekend, the food was so lovely and fabulous value for money as they currently have a two for £10 deal, it just feels like the place is unloved, the furniture looks very tired and their was no atmosphere at all, it was fine for us as there was a group however none of us wanted to stay after we had our meal, like you would normally on a lazy weekend day.

I live near this pub. One day the husband fancied a pint, i had a juice. Looked at the menu and thought the warm chocolate fudge cake sounded lovely, how wrong was i, it came as a piece of chocolate sponge cake which tasted like it had been in the cupboard for a week !! Stuck in the micro for 30secs. The vanilla ice cream was half a scoop of vanilla and half a scoop of strawberry. I left it after one mouthful, and i didn't want to complain because the short bar man was not friendly or approachable when placing the order. The week after a football match was on, seen food coming out of the kitchen, thought well that looks nice i will order some, meat platter, no ribs left, fine no problem i didn't mind, 5 mins later guys states no food left so got money back. I think its safe to say I've had enough of the poor service, and wont bother again !!

Just the sort of pub we look for when cruising - good moorings, good food, real ales,. We moored right at the back door.

Great food, great drink and great staff. Meals are relatively cheap for Chester but so tasty. There's a varied menu that so everyone should find something they like. Lota of selection with alcohol including lots of real ales and the like. Staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Unreservedly recommend.

The pub has been rebuilt,and has been open for business for months. Range of good ales and the wine isn't bad. Staff friendly. Food [not yet sampled!] between 17.00 and 21.00.

Last review a joke ! Front of pub was taken out by a car and pub been closed for over a year ! No food or beer !
