We were staying for one night only in a local hotel and the heavens opened! We had booked a table at another restaurant, but it had closed as the water had surrounded it. So we were looking around for somewhere to eat and the Old White Hart came to the rescue. My wife had fish and chips and I had hunters chicken. Thanks for being open, guys! Much appreciated!

Went for a late lunch at weekend and haven't been in this pub for a long time. Ordered via app and worryingly overheard the couple at the next table saying they had been waiting a long time for their desserts. Well around an hour later we were still waiting, came a short time after asking. Varying satisfaction with meals but my chips and peas were stone cold and the hunters chicken was chewy. Couldn't face more waiting so did not say anything and ate what I could . Really poor food imo. Positives were it's quite nice inside, toilets very dated. Staff thin on ground but friendly. Meal prices pretty good but won't be returning to try anymore of the menu.

Visited on Tuesday to watch the Euros Football. We had a couple of free drinks from the GK Sports App - thanks Georgia. Great service as ever from Vicky, see you tomorrow for £5 burger night. (also a burger and pint deal when Euros are on)

Lovely friendly service from Vicky. Beer was good, didn't eat but food coming out looked good. Showing sport on the tv's all around the pub. Very pleasant visit

We visited to watch England play their first match in the Euros on Thursday, what a brilliant atmosphere, place was packed but great crowd and plenty of staff so no waiting at the bar, brilliant night. Well done

A great night on Friday with a brilliant Elvis tribute. Pub was rocking, with a big turnout. Elvis played to his audience which was teenage to us oldies, keeping all engaged and singing along. Thanks Allison and the team (I counted 5 being kept very busy behind the bar!) so good to see the pub getting to where it should be.

Stopped here on the way to south coast with a family of four hungry children. Really nice atmosphere as soon as we stepped in and were welcomed by the landlady Alison. We had the starter platter of chicken wings, onion rings, chicken poppers, garlic bread and it was awesome. All piping hot and was quickly demolished. I had the beef and ale pie, children had fish and chips and my wife had lasagne. Couldn't fault it. Served quickly by friendly staff. Despite being full the kids had deserts (great sundaes) and we happily waddled off on our onward journey. Highly recommend this place.

Really enjoyed our re-visit to this village pub Not been here for months as not run well But now with a new manager in place! The food and service is a great improvement Our Sunday lunch came out piping hot and the veg was not pulp or mush!! It was all cooked and presented lovely! Not just thrownon a plate like last time. Popped into this pub for lunch with my partner, it wasn’t good from the start. The car park was filled up with rubbish, the smoking area we walked through to enter the pub had fag ends everywhere. Ashtrays where overfilled I waited 15 minutes at the bar for a drink even though I was the only one waiting. Eventually we got served and went to sit in the garden All the tables had either dirty glasses or plates so we chose to go back inside While we was looking through the menu the chef from the kitchen was clearing dirty plates and glasses, to top it off I then watched 2 dogs jumping on and licking the chef while he was still in his uniform. This completely put us off so we went elsewhere to eat.

Terrible bar service every time I went to the bar. Each time I went to order a drink I stood at the end of the bar nearest to where I was sitting, whereas the bar staff always congregate at the other end and chat amongst each other. I suffer with very severe COPD so I opted for the nearest part of the bar to my table as I get breathless extremely quickly even after a few steps. Every time I wanted service I was either not spotted or ignored even though the pub was near empty! I was made to wait each and every time. I did once quietly complain to an older male bartender when he eventually approached me that I had been waiting about 10 minutes and he had served others before me that got to the bar long after I did and a lady (Who I think is the manager) had looked at me but she walked off into the kitchen! The final straw was when a young male bartender started his shift and I waited to be served. I waited several minutes again while he was at the other end of the bar talking to a female customer and the lady (Who I think is the manager) was leaning on her elbows on the bar on her phone! I waited and waited and eventually I tapped on the bar but wasn't heard. I gently rattled my glass on the bar and wasn't heard. I rattled it louder at which the young bartender asked why I was making so much noise! He told me if I wanted to be served to come to the bar... I told him I am at the bar!!! He continued to be verbally abusive and impolite.... great customer service! I tried to explain to him I had been waiting a long time while he chatted to a customer and wasn't paying attention to his job and that his attitude stank. He was still verbal so I thanked him for my drink and yes, I called him a pr**k as my patience had worn out and I was offended and angry with his attitude, even a Saint has limits!. It is a shame as I like the actual pub and the menu, I never have a complaint with the food. I sometimes take my 3 grandchildren there for a meal and desserts. The service at the bar and attitude has been an ongoing problem and that is why I generally use the other Greene King pub in Hook, The Raven, as the service there is second to none and very professional /friendly. I now just hope that this is taken onboard by management and this ongoing problem is eliminated and staff given additional advice/training so that my visits and others can be pleasurable instead of frustrating and unpleasant. I know I'm not the only person that has encountered this.

We was a group of 8 and the food arrived in a timely manner and hot. It looked very good and taste. I would strongly recommend this place.

Excellent value for the lunch menu. 2 meals for under £12. Nice relaxed atmosphere. We both had the Hunter Chicken. Delicious.

The drinks that I was sold,was 4months out of date.which is not acceptable if you sell drinks to the public you have to check if what you are selling to the public is in date I had drank 6 bottles before I noticed that they were out of date I bought it to the attention of the bar staff and nothing was done about it I thought they could have handled it better I stayed a night here but I am afraid I won’t be back

We stopped here for dinner last week and really wished we hadn't bothered! After ordering on the app, we finally got our drinks after nearly 30mins and then it was another 15 minutes before our food came out. The children's smothered chicken was dried and shrivelled up, there was no cheese on it as per the menu and their corn on the cob looked like it had sat in the sauna for a week! My daughter tried to drown it in mayo but even that didn't help! My lasagne was burnt and literally stuck to the dish - it was impossible to even cut through it with a knife. When the waitress asked if everything was ok, I did mention this and she offered to swap my meal. This then took another 25 minutes to come out (after I chased it for the 2nd time) and then I was horrified to find it was the exact meal sent back! The lasagne had a corner cut off where I'd tried it. The garlic bread was now like a rock and the salad had sat on the hotplate so my lettuce was more like warm soggy spinach. Once again, the waitress did offer to swap my meal, but by then I'd lost the will to live and the rest of the family had finished eating. The waitress then assured me that I'd be refunded on the same card that I used to pay.... A week later and guess what........ not a single penny back in my account. We certainly won't be returning anytime soon!

My father-in-law had been singing the praises of this spacious Hostelry for a while so, eventually, we succumbed to his ravings & took the family for brunch on New year's Day. Unfortunately, the food stores had been extremely depleted over the festive break making it somewhat difficult to find suitable meals for most of us!! However, the chef & her amazing staff managed to cobble together (probably sacrificing their own expected lunches and making at least one trip to a local shop!!) several superb brunches. Now, THAT'S what I call exceptional customer care!! Of course, we've been back since and advised the new manager (Claire) just what dedicated staff she had inherited, turning a potential disaster into an grateful accolade!!!!

Took my mum for lunch and staff helpful in accommodating menu changes for allergy issues. It's a standard Greene King menu but plenty of choice from carnivore to vegan and vegetarian. Wide range of bees, ales and wines. Only negative was having to walk through the outdoor smoking area to get to the main entrance which was littered with fag ends and overfill ashtrays.

Sadly this pub has gone seriously downhill for quality of food, girls are still lovely but lack of items available recently coupled with seriously overcooked food and out of date oil usage makes it a place I will avoid for a while.

I booked this with 3hrs notice due to working the area and needed a comfortable place to stay with good food.... I certainly made a good choice with the white Hart inn. A warm welcome on arrival, spotlessly clean room. I got a double and the bed you can just die for... Soft and comfy lol. Just eaten dinner in the pub... Surf and turf on a hot plate... Absolutely fantastic and outstanding value for money and the staff are friendly and welcoming... I'm a lone Traveller but made to feel welcome by both the staff and regulars. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone. Thanks for a great stay to the staff and regulars. Oh, I also judge a place on it's loos, the condition reflects how they look after their customers... See attached pics, very clean, and also with an air sensor fitted making the loos smell fresh at all times!!!

Nice pub with fantastic friendly staff who love to have a chat with you. Amazing food for a pub great customer service, superb facility’s sports TVs pool tables and darts. Staff are on top of cleaning making sure that your visit is the best it can be.

I Have been to this pub/restaurant quite a few times now and every visit the customers Servies is Always outstanding I’m a very fussy eater and like my food to be tasteful and a nice quality and prepared to a high standard .On every occasion I have visited here it has exceeded my expectations and more.Great value for money and nothing to much troubleTo accommodate our needs.We travel 25 mi to this pub/restaurant a few times a month and keep coming back as the standard is high and meets all our needs. I come in quite regularly with a group of friends, mostly Friday and Saturday nights. I just wanted to say how lovely the staff are, all really friendly and always up for a laugh. The service is amazing, they are always fast and professional even when it’s busy. Well done team Old White Hart!!

I would just like to say how mach this pub has changed since my last visit this time last year. I was throughly impressed by the customer service given by jess today and my food was brilliant. Will come here more often now.

We live not far from here and have dropped in from time to time.We came here last week to give a good friend his farewell send off with a few others. The service was spot on and the staff were brilliant. Highly recommended and worth a visit.

I visited this pub for drinks only on a very busy day. The staff were certainly earning their money whilst still remaining happy with smiles on their faces. The two barmaids were great but I would like to single out Amy who took time out to flush and change a real ale line. "Sorry, not available" would have been an easier option, so personally I view this as over and above service.

My husband and I went to the old White Hart for the first time today. We both enjoyed our meals in the garden. (all day breakfast and scampi and chips) The staff were friendly and came out to make sure we were happy with our meals. A pleasant couple of hours was had and I would happily go back there again.

First of all let me say, this is one of the rare times I find I am in the position to write a review. Arriving at 12 noon we were given a warm welcome by the staff and presented with a menu each, the two soups ordered by my friends were presented fairly prompt, the all day breakfast and the filled jacket potato for myself and my wife came to the table an hour later. If you are reading this, and you happen to own this establishment, please realise that I am merely trying to save your business before it is too late. What has prompted me to write this review is the condition of the all day breakfast that I was presented with, beans that looked as if they had been left in a sauspan and given a second chance, chips that had been put in luke warm oil, two eggs which were like bullets hiding the two tangy tasting sausages that were well out of date. Like I say I am not a callas person, make changes before the preverbrial hits the fan.

I have been drinking here for years and I can honestly say what an improvement the new manager has made. Thank you to Sarah the new manager for making it the place to be in hook.

Now under new management so was not sure of the effect the changes would have.

It is advertised that 4th June is the launch of the flippin burgers. When here and the manager has taken them off the menu but all tables have the menus. Manager off site until 10pm. The staff did not know why. BUT. SORRY !!! Hope head office know or even the area manager.

8 of us went to the old white hart pub for a meal and drink, the food is good value for money, it is just not great. Most had a burger with the option of the discounted drink, people said the burger was dry. I had surf, turf and cluck I.e. scampi, 4oz steak and a small chicken breast. Steak was a bit tough, scampi was good and chicken ok. For £9 it was good.

Terrible noisy messy place. Loud people dirty tables and bad food. Loud music blaring. Avoid 200% should be lovley in a small village setting but its the opposite

YET AGAIN, the staff were amazing, courteous, friendly, and always asking if everything was satisfactory with a genuine concern, they are always keen to make sure your experience is a good one.

I have been passed this place numerous of times I thought I give it a try it was nice in side the food okey my wife had Mac & Cheese and she thought it was a microwave meal she said it was dry I no it was not cooked fresh as the food did not take long to be saved and we were the only one eating as it is more like a pub with 2 big pool table and some people drinking the down side was some people on a table not far from us needs there mouth wash out with soap using bad language F this F that don’t get me wrong we all swear but I think there is a time and place not when there are ladies about it’s the first time here and I think it is my last shame really

Having had a bad first visit, the manager, Wayne invited us for another visit to put things right. He totally looked after us all and made sure we had the best time. The food was good, very reasonable and everyone had a good time. Fully recommend.

This was my first visit to the Old White Hart & I will definitely be eating there again, the food is really tasty, well presented, very reasonable & generous portions. The staff are really nice & friendly. Will be going back there again very soon.

We have taken Dad to eat here for the last 4 Sunday’s. Amazing place, Land Lord and Staff on the ball friendly helpful polite. Had Sunday Lunch, Ham egg and chips, chicken and bacon salad during these weeks and all been excellent. Extra gravy requested and delivered. Always check if everything’s ok, this Sunday three Staff did. Booked for next Sunday for a birthday.

Lovely experience for a business liquid lunch. I don't normally do reviews but I just had to comment on the polite, friendly and jovial barstaff. The service was impeccable, the ale was good. Thoroughly recommend.

We only popped in for a coffee at the end of a busy afternoon. The place was buzzing. Families. Children. Guys having a drink after a day's work. One or two having what looked like a really good value meal. And one young lady was managing the bar, serving food, and looking after everyone with incredible cheerfulness. Felt so warm and comfortable. Just what local pubs should be like. Congratulations !

I find this pub has a great friendly atmosphere, the bar staff in particular are hard working and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Waited over half an hour for our meal and when it came we were very disappointed, it is advertised with broccoli an carrots , we had peas no carrots or Broccoli, no apology given , waiter said they had ran out, very disappointing meal , it was priced on a buy two for £9.99 which is good but not as advertised and a long wait no apology or discount or offer of any kind , afree pud or drink would of been a good way to make up for what was lacking, we will not go there again .

I recently visited to grab some dinner with my partner and 2 children. We was greeted by a staff member who was extremely helpful and very welcoming. We ordered food, it came out quickly which is great especially with the children. The food was amazing. The GM was also amazing in occupying my kids. I honestly cannot recommend this pub enough. This is a local pub that caters for families and sports fans alike. It has a reasonable size screen to watch the sport on and there is a pool table and a dart board at the other end. It is a green king pub so the menu is typical pub grub but the food itself is generally of a very good standard. Popped in this week and had a bacon cheese burger and chips, no fancy brioche bun here, a proper bread roll with an amazing beef burger, proper bacon and real cheese, my only criticism would be that the limp skinny chips let it down. This is far from a gastro pub but if you want decent food at reasonable prices and a warm and friendly welcome then give it a try.

Bar staff very attentive. Chelsey sorted us out all day. Rugby on the screens, good pint of Guinness, food by the chef Ben frankly outstanding for a greene King pub. Will be back as soon as possible!
