I just popped in for a coffee, never been before and was very impressed. Spotlessly clean. A big mug of really good coffee for just £2. Atmosphere felt friendly and the food served to other customers looked delicious with generous portions.

An absolutely superb find for a breakfast stopover on our way to Gatwick airport. Even has it's own free parking at the rear. Eleven different options for traditional English breakfasts or make your own. All freshly cooked and waiter service. Everything was clean, tasty and served with a smile. Best of all it was accompanied by real toast, not thin wishy washy shop bread. If you are going for an early flight from Gatwick it's well worth doing a U turn and calling here for breakfast. And finally; what tremendous value. All breakfasts include tea or coffee plus toast. £18.60 for two hearty breakfasts which saw us all the way to Athens.

We stoped here for a couple of drinks before our meal at the Everest Spice. First of all we felt very relaxed and the drinks were crisp and clean. The ambience was great and the staff were chatty and pleasant. Only problem was my wife found the toilets to be dark and unwelcoming. The rest of the bar was great.

Such a great spot to get off the high street. Grab lunch, breakfast, coffee and home made cake (and ice cream).I love that it’s owner run and not a chain or an investment business. Sit and eat and let your kids have fun, or enjoy the sounds of the other kids living it up! Dogs are welcome too. (Even big old Dalmatians !)

This has quickly become our favourite local. Friendly staff, great beer and good food. Pizzas are excellent and Leona's Kitchen on a Sunday is fantastic.

First-time visit to The Woodman for a Sunday roast for us. We sat outside in the lovely beer garden – really nice atmosphere. You have to order at the bar if you’re outside, which is fine, just something to be aware of. My wife ordered the lamb shank and I had the trio of meats. The meal came with mash, roast potatoes, veg, and gravy. The gravy on mine was quite sparse compared to the generous portion on the lamb shank, which made it a bit dry. The biggest issue was the roast potatoes – both of us thought they tasted sour, as if they had gone off. Thankfully, there was mashed potato as well, which isn’t always standard, but we were glad to have it since we couldn’t eat the roast potatoes. We mentioned it to the staff when our plates were cleared, but the response was disappointing. One waitress said “oh ok” and walked off, and another said “they wouldn’t be off, they were made yesterday” and did the same. No apology, no interest in our feedback. It felt like our concern was dismissed, which was frustrating. Lovely setting, sadly let down by the food and poor customer service. Hopefully they take this as constructive feedback – we would definitely consider coming back if things improve.
