Average food and poor service. Limited menu on the day. Was brought our mains before our starter, and when we questioned this, the staff tried to convince us that that’s what we’d asked for ??? Think of a Wetherspoons with inflated prices,

Room was quaint, comfortable and clean with a modern bathroom. We had a lovely view of the harbor but it was quiet for sleeping. Parking was right across the street. Breakfast included and was tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful; carried my bag up steep narrow stairway.

We had an excellent first time visit for an evening meal, we had a warm but not an over the top welcome pitched just right, great food particularly the Sticky Toffee Pudding a must have (unbelievable). Good value for money, it looks a limited menu but it caters for everyone. very clean, comfortable and good table service. Definitely going back again.

Beautiful restaurant/ pub on the harbour side . Dog friendly . Lovely steak and chicken dinner for two. Would recommend

We came as a family of 4 to Padstow as part of a camping holiday. My son has a dairy allergy whereas my partners daughter does not. She chose a build your own Sundae which was all dairy based and my son looked disappointed as he could not have the same…. However…. When my partner went to speak to the staff, they spoke to the chef who was more than happy to create a bespoke dairy free build your own Sundae just for my boy…. And here is the result… one happy camper!!! Definitely recommend to eat here, very accommodating in a busy tourist area for my boy!! The rest of the food was lovely too!

We, six of us, arrived around 9 am, for our family holiday after a very early start. Our usual place for having breakfast has changed hands and no longer provides that meal. We then saw that the Old Custom House was offering breakfast so we went in and were met by very friendly barman who took our order. It turned out to be the very best breakfast we had ever had in Padstow and we have been coming for many years! Freshly cooked and very good quality ingredients- delicious. So huge thank you to all staff concerned at the Old Custom House. We would thoroughly recommend their breakfast service.

This our 4th year going to The Old Custom House. The food always is spot on the roast I had today was lovely. The service is very good and lovely to have the same waiters every time we go!

Quiet and cozy place in the same port. Good food

Excellent British grub in a great location in and lovely setting. The pie was 5 stars and the fish and chips looked incredible with finally some great curry sauce! It was a little confusing where to go when we walked in as to where to sit as we walked into the bar, we told him we had booked a table and he rudely brushed my wife off, which was such a massive shame as bar from that one incident all the staff were so incredibly lovely. Highly recommend this place for top notch British grub.

Great location, good atmosphere, good food would recommend

We were disappointed with our visit and the food offered. We were the first customers of the evening at 5.30. The waiter (who was also doing the bar and the meeting and greeting) was excellent and efficient. We made our choices. I chose Hake and my wife Fish & chips (the fish was also shown as being Hake). a few minutes later the waiter returned to say that they had no Hake. It turned out the other fish (with chips) was Haddock and not Hake, as described. My wife stuck with her original order whilst I went for steak and ale pie instead. Generally the food was OK. Nothing special. I think that the pie had been bought in. The quality did not seem to be that of a home made pie. Overall a disappointing visit.

We were made to feel welcome the minute we walked through the door. The service was fabulous as was the food and wide choice of food on the menu. The manager John, Grace the waitress and Norbert the waiter were attentive and made sure we were happy with the food and drinks we had chosen. We went back a second time that week as we enjoyed the food so much. This time we had Sunday dinner which is one of the best we have ever had. Thank you so much team Custom House…we will be back when we next visit Padstow

Lovely place, staff were helpful and kept the bar/restaurant area well cleared of any dirty plates, glasses etc. Food was very good and brilliant value for money. Would highly recommend seafood platter

Unwelcoming and vastly overexpensive. (£4.25ish for about 15 chips in a tiny bowl).

Great food and service! I had the fish and chips and my partner had the pie and both were delicious 😋. The wait who served us was very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. Worth a visit if you are looking for great grub.

Service was great, staff were very welcoming. It definitely pays to pre-book which was super easy. Some customers were being turned away as they were full, however after having their food. I can see why! Their roast belly of pork is delicious. Such a good amount of food and for the price it's worth every penny. The location is beautiful. Just be mindful that water for table is charged however all for charity

We had a fantastic meal for my wife’s birthday. Service was very good along with a lovely window table at the front of the restaurant.

We had a brief stay in a fantastic room overlooking the harbour. The inclusive breakfast was exceptional and evening meals excellent. We had to contend with the rail strike and Michelle went out of her way to sort out alternative transport. She was an absolute treasure. Hope to return.

The Old Custom House what a little gem in the heart of Padstow Harbour. We love it here and are looking forward to our next visit. The room was big, clean and the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in. We stayed the day before mayday and our room was situated above the pub, Thu played music which was a little loud but I didn't mind as I expected this being may day experience. The venue is beautiful and great location, rooms were like a rabbit warren so my room would be no good for someone with mobility problems. However I'm sure you could get one closer if requested. I also had to leave the pram in reception as would be nightmare taking up and down the stairs. The staff were amazing. Michelle on reception was more than welcoming. Along with Yola who worked so hard all day and through to the night for both days I was there. Both bar and restaurant manager were very nice and helpful for breakfast. As for the breakfast spread it's was included in the price and so delicious. I cannot wait to stay here again. Brilliant location and value for money. Everyone was amazing. Thank you.

Amazing Hake battered fish and chips with minted peas. Little pricey for fish & chips but was well worth it! Thank goodness I booked in advance as very busy as a Bank Holiday weekend but had a good table in the old Cally’s Bar area.

Visited here for a Sunday lunch and wondered if they could cater for myself as I’m ceilac and need gluten free meals and not they don’t disappoint great views with a great choice of meals and the Sunday dinner was delicious

15 family and friends enjoyed a wonderful evening, the food ambience and service by Hayden and Grace was superb remarkably our food was all served at the same time and beautifully hot Cannot recommend this venue highly enough

The fish and chips was so good last time we came (about a month ago), that we had to come back and have it again. Fortunately, it was just as good the second time around ! Great pub, excellent service and completely dog-friendly - even providing dog biscuits and water bowls for our four-legged friends. We will certainly be back again !

Great place to stop for lunch, very reasonable prices and excellent food which is all freshly cooked, you can also choose smaller plates if you don't want a huge meal. Fab service by the most friendly chap. Would definitely recommend and will return.

First time visiting The Old Custom House. We went for lunch with some friends. The staff were very friendly and checked if you needed more drinks regularly. Food was lovely, I had local mussels with sourdough and fries. The portion was huge, excellent value for money. All the other meals were thoroughly enjoyed too. Would definitely recommend and if I’m back in Padstow I’ll be returning to try some other dishes.

Great place to stop for a coffee with harbour views. Typical St Austell brewery tasty menu. Friendly staff. Female toilets needed a tidy up. Granted it had probably been very busy as a first sunny day. Public car park opposite.

Fantastic food! Hayden was brilliant and really went out of his way to ensure we had a good time. Only downside was the toilets were out of order in the restaurant which meant using the ones belonging to the pub, which were really not clean. Other than that we had a great time, thank you!

Great venue ruined by bad loud music. For years this has been the only pub in Padstow you can get a quiet meal on a weekend. I get that things change, but this is a change that's not needed, and could have been executed alot better. Music was campsite quality, too loud and too early, with absolutely no warning when booking our regular table for dinner.

An impromptu visit for dinner and what a great find. Amazing food, great service and a relaxed but classy atmosphere. We will definitely visit again. A special shoutout to Hayden and Norbi who were so patient and kind to our two young kids, it made all the difference.

Myself and my husband had dinner in the restaurant with family who were visiting for a week from London, our waiter was a lovely young man named Hayden. He was very polite and helpful and the service and food were excellent. We will definitely come back soon.

We stayed over for the night, it was fantastic! The staff were brilliant and we were welcomed by Ellie (I hope I remembered that correctly) who showed us the location of our two rooms. There was even a treat and card in my room for my birthday. The room was large with a sofa and the shower room was ace. Jodie, a member of the cleaning staff was amazing the room was spotless and smelled great. There was a plentiful supply of tea and coffee, even had a Krups machine! Our breakfast was delicious too and served with a smile. I will stay again without hesitation and would recommend highly.

We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Incredible breakfast the next morning and a room looking right onto the harbour. The room was very hot but it was bearable in winter.

We had a fantastic Sunday Lunch, it was absolutely delicious. We had slow roasted belly pork and roast chicken with a fabulous array of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, with lashings of gravy. The Staff were lovely and we had the best view of Padstow Harbour too. We can't wait for our next visit.

A great place to stay. Lovely room, friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast right in the heart of town. Lots of stairs to room so no good if poor mobility and have to use expensive parking but good value for money and great place to stay...
