La mejor comida india que he probado en mucho tiempo. Cuando me apetezca la comida india voy a venir aquí en el futuro. El servicio estaba bien, pero no era tan entusiasta en la gran pantalla de televisión que reproduce videos musicales indios. Sin embargo, da un buen ambiente moderno en oposición al tipo de papel tapiz de bandada más relleno de la atmósfera, y la comida triunfa sobre todo lo demás. Específicamente el cordero era tierno y especiado a la perfección, Nan era fantástico y el dahl era encantador.

My fiancé Deb had her birthday meal for family and friends at our place. We spoke to the lovely staff about our takeaway requirements and that we would be placing a large order. They said it would be no problem. The food arrived as arranged and was lovely and hot and all labeled. I can't tell you how delicious the food was. We were sent complementary poppadoms and sauces and a litre bottle of cola. The birthday meal was loved by everyone and I would highly recommend this restaurant. We're having the leftovers for dinner tonight....... can't wait......yummy.

Usually order take away from here, which has always been so good. I dined in on Saturday with a partner and I am so impressed. The service and lady that served was brilliant. the manager/owner? Was so polite. Even when my partner asking where we can park was friendly. I highly recommend. I hate going out but I felt so comfortable.

Been one of my favorite curry houses in Bristol for a long time. The food is amazing and good value, and the fact that it's BYOB is a great bonus. The staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is nice.

Absolut empfehlenswert hierher zu gehen. Ich habe ein Tikka Biryani gegessen. Herrlich gewürzt, nicht zu scharf, mit einem lecker Curry dazu. Sehr gute Portion, für mich allein gerade zu schaffen, weil ich echt einen großen Appetit hatte. Angenehme ruhige Atmosphäre, sehr netter Service. Super Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Ich kann dieses Restaurant unbedingt empfehlen! So muß Essen sein !

The food was good but I have been told by the waitress it wasn't spicy and it actually was. Also, it was very loud and difficult to talk to people at my same table.

Was my regular place to go but long waits for food and can expect big student tables here which can be really noisy so be prepared to wait long time on your main dishes. 2 pound corkage PP on the BYO forced service charge of 10% now aswell Not the same place anymore sadly 😔😕 food portions have gone down in size now too will have to find another place.

I came in for my birthday over the weekend with some friends and we had such a great evening!! A table of 20 on a Friday night, staff were great, efficient and the food was completely spot on. It's also really good value and BYO, what is not to like...!

My boyfriend had his birthday meal here, with 30 of his friends! staff were so accommodating, friendly and attentive with such a big group they were amazing! Food was lovely and so much choice for everyone, everyone left happy and full up on amazing food! Thank you for having us and we will definitely be back!

I don’t understand how this place has any good reviews? I came here last year and was seated but never served… after half an hour we left and nobody batted an eye. I thought i’d give it a second chance as we live so close so i tried it again tonight and unfortunately, i was served. I enjoyed the poppadoms but i went downhill from there. While the Naan and rice were nice enough… The Chicken Tikka masala was watery and bland. The Butter Balti Chicken was inedible… tasted like fish and chip shop curry sauce mixed with a litre of double cream. One of the chefs was wearing a dirty puffer coat in the kitchen? Didn’t seem very hygienic :/ We were charged for BYOB ( just 1 beer each) but no signs outside said that there was a charge so thought that was very cheeky. You can’t expect return customers if you try and sneakily get more money out of them.

Ordered a veggie jalfrezi, chicken tikka starter, onion Bhaji, garlic naan and rice. Most disappointing curry I’ve ever ordered, the murgh chicken tikka starter was almost inedible, tasted incredibly acrid and was very over cooked thus the meat being dry. The Jalfrezi lacked any real flavour and the consistency was bad, overcooked vegetables and a thick tomato paste which was meant to resemble a sauce, again acrid and lacked any spice or flavour. The Bhaji wasn’t even a Bhaji, it was quite literally a dry and tasteless onion fritter lacking flavour and had not been fried either, tasted rancid and was probably the worst part of the curry. Garlic naan was doughy and had some subpar tasting garlic butter plastered all over it which had not even seeped into the naan, it was just layered on top. Rice was incredibly dry, tasteless and cold. All in all, the worst curry I’ve ever experienced in Bristol, to pay over £20 without delivery charge for this absolute absurdity is a joke. I will never order from this place ever again. Avoid at all costs!

Most of the food was nice, but it was overpowered with salt, which ruined it for me. I ordered tandoori red snapper with a tomato sauce and found the sauce was sweetened with sugar and not as savoury as I was hoping for, which I didn't enjoy. I've had goan fish curry from here before and forgot how overly sugary it was so I shouldn't have ordered from here again. One of the curries was also very oily. It was nice apart from that though and the portion sizes were very generous so it would be good for anyone who enjoys plenty of salt and sugar. The samosas and stuffed paratha were delicious!

Very very pleased! I felt that I had stumbled upon a genuine Indian restaurant, and that I had a remarkable meal at a very reasonable price.

Food was good, but the staff was on a mission to get us in and out of there as quickly as possible. Quite a rude way of treating your customers. Felt like cattle being herded through the restaurant. Told us we need to be off our table by 8:15 and didn’t take our mains order till 8.

Horrible food, will never go back. I ordered chicken makhani , on the menu it say it is made with yougurt and doesn’t mention any nuts . When we opened it , it was covered with nuts and was made in horrible in sweet coconut cream , no sign of yougurt.Dessert I guess😊 2nd I ordered nehari and after opening it was just a regular dry lamb dish rather then nehari. 3rd Fish was extremely spicy I ordered chicken seekh but got lamb seeik ( not fresh or tasty) 4. Rice was not well cooked and they were hard 5.I asked one of the staff if your naan is with sesame seeds they told me “yes they are “ and I ordered.what came was roti rather than a naan. My son has a life threatening nut allergy and they are so irresponsible about adding nuts to your dishes without mentioning in their menu. Over all food was sweet rather than savoury . I think they have Bengali chef who loves to add sweet coconut cream to your dishes. Horrible experience tasteless food wastage of money. I ordered takeaway and saw that one of the chefs had big nails full of dirt.

We went to Oh Calcutta on quite a busy Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and prompt and we really enjoyed the lovely hospitality we received. The food was excellent. I had the red snapper which was cooked perfectly with a lovely sauce. My wife had a lamb dish which also smelled and tasted amazing. Will definitely be coming back again.

First time trying Oh Calcutta, we had a table for 4 booked on a Friday night. Initial thoughts on entering were that the restaurant looked quite simple and basic inside. Not a bad thing for me personally but for anyone craving real character to the restaurant I'm sure there are better options in Bristol. The staff were all really friendly and prompt in taking orders and serving the food. The menu choices were great and incredibly low prices! Actually had to double check at one point! Whilst the prices were really good I think this was reflected in the portion sizes, they weren't small but if you're arriving there really hungry I would definitely not be afraid to get a few extra dishes! That being said all of the food we ordered tasted really good and I had no complaints there at all. The restaurant has a "bring your own booze" policy so don't hesitate to stock up beforehand. Conveniently there is a shop right next door if needed! Overall a decent night with good food, definitely worth a shout if you're with friends and after a cheaper meal! I just would have liked slightly bigger portions because what I did order tasted really good!

I had lovely food here while staying at Bristol. I specially remember the Biryanis, they all were so yummy... and the dal tadka. I will definitely go to this place again if given the opportunity. The staff was also extremely cordial and caring. It is an excellent package at very reasonable prices.

Even though the driver did not show up to the restaurant, a lovley man from Calcutta stayed an hour and a half after close and delivered the food himself.

Driver was extremely rude. He did not come to the door and was very confrontational on the phone.

No popadom, we paid for, not a big thing, but no trust now, won't ever order again, why do this for 75p. Your loss, will inform all my friends, so you lost 100 peoples business for 75p. Hope it's worth it.

Over an hour 20 late. Food had to sit at restaurant over an hour awaiting a driver. As a result 2 of the dishes were ruined. Not the restaurants fault at all.

Just ordered off of Deliveroo and the food was cracking! Bhuna was amazing and chicken tikka was out of this world the special rice tasted of mind corrinder flavours!

Possibly the most disappointing restaurant in Bristol. Not a natural moaner or complainer I sat here for 2 hrs awaiting a delicious curry. This was not the case. With deliveroo couriers and other fast food taking priority I asked several times about where our order was. Genuinely this restaurant doesn’t care that you have bothered to come to them and patiently wait and buy drinks in their premises. Seriously don’t bother they are garbage if their food is nice I can’t say as they failed to actually do the bare minimum and serve food and as a restaurant they are rubbish. Avoid at all costs.

This restaurant is a joke. 2hrs after we sat down we still didn’t have our main course, despite watching two other tables that arrived after us being served before us, one of them managed to eat and leave before we had eaten. We were told multiple times that we were next, and the staff even objected when we said we would be leaving. We were not told of any delay in the kitchen, and I worry we would still be there now if we hadn’t left after 2hrs. No apology, no explanation, no food.

If you have watched say Rick Steins India series then it is clear that truly authentic Indian cuisine is pretty hard to find in the UK but this is true of Japanese and Thai food too- outside of London anyway. However, this place does a damn good job- consistently good food, great staff and service..excellent...

2 times I visited this place. Both times the food are very tasty. Okay, some people reviewed saying it is not authentic. If they think because their food did not come out greasy or bright red colour is non-authentic. Then I would rather eat this type of curry. I can taste the difference between all their currys, each tasted very nice and different. Not like some curry house, everything tastes the same with the same red colour. The portion size is very good. And my god, the price is extremely good! And the lady front of house is always polite and attentive. I really enjoy their food. One of the best I have tasted in Bristol. And trust me, I do know my currys!

Pretty cheap and mediocre but is tasty nonetheless. Byob which Is a touch. Mite slow service due to the now standard incessant stream of deliveroo drivers....the afghan lamb was yummy I must say.

Had great weekend in Bristol for Tokyoworld and ate in Oh Calcutta Sunday night. Food was excellent and the staff first class. Had Goan fish curry, Malayan curry, chicken Balti and a lamb jalfreizi first classs. Tasted lovely and spices spot on. Thank you Roly, Mick and Ruth from Preston.

Sadly we were missing special fried rice but rest of meal was fantastic.
