Had a wonderful meal here on a Saturday night.My garlic chilli chicken was a delight.The butter chicken which my wife had was also extremely good.I am not a a fan of the usual sweet " lady " curries but i would have eaten her,s also it was so nice.All the meals were tasty & piping hot.The young lady serving was fabulous as well.She even put some regional music on for us as it adds to the ambience in an Indian restaurant.We will be back thank you again guys !

What can I say..... Staff were nice although one member was a little clueless....I asked for Courvoisier and coke...she brought the courvoisier and a pint sized glass of flat coke...after asking should she put water in it .. Poppadoms weren't the best, tasted either burnt or stale...dipping sauces weren't anything to write home about. Naan bread was AMAZING MAIN Meal wasn't memorable although edible. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing...I think I would go again just to confirm it wasn't anything special.

Wow wow wow! We live very close to Westbury on trym but haven’t been to Indian Kitchen before but so glad we did. The food was so amazing, so full of flavour and really different from normal curry houses. I would go as far to say a gourmet experience! The owner was so lovely and knowledgable about his food, he showed such passion and pride for his recipes when we asked what different things were on the menu. I haven’t experienced such excitement about a restaurant in a very long time. Can’t wait to go back again. Thank u for making my anniversary meal with my husband really really special. Xx

very happy with the takeaway it was good quality recommend it - the white rice is nice and it was done ontime the paneer and vegetarian curry were good - me and my family are mainly vegetarian. We live locally.

I planned a nice lunch with my daughter and for one reason or another we were both running late so picked this place solely because it opened at four. Great decision, fast service and lovely food. Highly recommended.

Vidaloo curry,is what I ordered,well got back home dished it up and to my first mouthful it was not a vidaloo,no heat meat hard. £30 wasted should of bought a pack of polo mint's they would of been hotter.

Great food, all freshly cooked and really obviously home recipes... I don't understand the bad reviews here, I just think they must be fake or really bad days. I have lived in India and this food is great, have eaten here many times!!!

I would never recommend this place to anyone unless I really disliked them! £26 for one person. The rice is re heated, slosh. Chicken tikka absolutely vile and the chicken isn’t normal; very tough, not fresh. Nan bread not fresh, so soggy. It’s not that the food didn’t have taste; rather the taste was absolutely disgusting 🤢 I know a half decent curry when I see one but this isn’t even something I’d feed to a dog!

Good to find a tasty place to eat in Westbury on Trym. Clean, modern decor with plenty of space between the tables. Nice waitress. I had a vegetarian spinach and paneer kofta in tomato sauce with egg fried rice and aubergine side dish. My husband had Chicken Labadar which was sliced chicken in a spicey sauce. We both enjoyed the food very much and found the portions were a good size. They also do takeaways. Prices are medium range.

Came here on the off chance after leaving the circus, first impressions was empty for a Saturday evening, thought we'd give it a go anyway. Menu was limited and nothing special and overpriced, the waiter seemed more preoccupied with what seemed like the owners daughters rather than our table, acting like a school boy drooling all over her. Main meals came, my children's and husbands main seemed OK, I ordered the chicken tikka masala, I took one mouthful and knew instantly how awful it was, I tried to be polite and eat some but the more I tried the more sick I felt, the chicken was a weird texture and was definitely not fresh, the sauce was simply vile and not fit to be served. We ordered pilau rice for the table, upon it arriving you could see it was reheated stodge and not fit for purpose. My family tried to eat theirs but all in all the whole experience from when we first walked in, to the service and meals being served was a disaster and definitely not somewhere I would EVER eat again. Officially the worst curry I have eaten in my life and I eat curry alot! Whoever rated this restaurant highly must not be curry eaters as what we had was not fit for human consumption.

Top quality food. A gem of a place

Had a most delicious meal last night at Indian House! We order the duck, the baby lamb chops, sag paneer and spiced rice. And we ate every bit of it! Also appreciated the presentation of the dishes with microgreens and pomegranate seeds. While the Indian House lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for it with the well-prepared food!

Came to cheer up a friend. Food, service, and overall experience was very impressive. The kulfi (ice cream) was heavenly. Reasonable price, will definitely return.

Had a chicken dopiaza on Friday night at the Indian kitchen, nice decor but curry fell way way short of expectations, the word dopiaza means double onion but when dish arrived I struggled to find any onions and the dish tasted like spicy tomato soup. It’s a shame that now the Indian kitchen is the last remaining Indian in Westbury village it has no competition and is trying to be something it’s not and failing miserably. When my uneaten curry was collected the owner commented on it being hardly touched, I told him the curry bore no resemblance to a Dopiaza which he completely ignored and took my dish away. I will not be returning and have been recommended Cardamom Bay in Redland which will now be my default

Work team meal out ! One of our team had eaten here before and recommended it to the wider team. Normally closed on a Monday but they opened especially for us, other customers turned up so I think they had a good night. Nice clean, modern, comfortable restaurant, good food, pleasant service, would go back.

The food was amazing. Riya is one of the friendliest people. All the other staff was amazing too. Definitely recommend it. 10/10

1-food was extremely salty and burnt! 2- we asked to change it with less salty one the replacement was awful again! 3-the service and attendance was awful. 4-we asked for the bill, there were so many errors in the bill! 3-toilet facilities was not great! Hand drier was broken. Never recommend it!

Starters OK but 2 of 4 main dishes were terrible. The lamb chops were burnt (acually black on the outside), over salted and dry. The chicken tikka was so salty it was inedible and after tasting one piece was unable to eat anything else as was starting to feel sick. Never going back.

Best Indian restaurant in the area!!!! went for a meal with my wife and the food was amazing, the staff were very accommodating and friendly and the food portions were generous. Highly recommended

Ordered Chicken tikka takeaway for two and bitterly disappointed. 5 pieces each of cold chicken that clearly didn't see the tandoor oven. it was tough and insipid looking and with a very small amount of salad. Picked it up 7.30 on a Saturday evening and not a single customer in the Restaurant. Cost me £22 to find out why!! Won't see me again.

Food was great but it took longer than Deliveroo said it would, I had to call to chase it and then they delivered without the drinks I ordered. I think they do the deliveries themselves which might be the problem. Nice man delivered the drinks though 10mins later. Like I said food was good, just let down by the delivery and missing some items

Lovely food l, nice staff but was disappointed with what they charged for mixers In drink, had rum and coke not more than a dash and they charged £2.95 per dash and also charged for an extra pint of Cobra that wasn't ordered .

First visit to the Indian kitchen in WOT village, I must say how impressed we were with how clean a d tidy it was, great service and top notch Indian food at its best the grilled seabass is outstanding ,our whole family had a great night with lovely service and extremely well cooked and full of flavour Indian food, I can highly recommend the food , mixed grill was another huge hit,if your a family like mine who enjoys good home cooked authentic Indian meals look no further then the Indian kitchen in Westbury on Trym, Bristol forthe best night .

I liked this restaurant but today I got a Jalfrezi with a chicken that was stinking and not fresh. I have ordered food here many times, but after today's experience, I won't take any chances. I've just been visited by someone from the restaurant with an apology and free food. He was told that an investigation was conducted and the problem was resolved. Due to the fact that the food was delicious before, I will change my opened from 1 to 3 stars. But since this should never happen, I have not accepted free food and will not be ordering here anymore. I hope they will more carefully in future.

One of the best Indian meals I've ever had! My husband had lamb saag and I had Veg Balti and they were both very good very nice.... Im not vegetarian but I usually find meat in curry not pleasant so I ordered veg curry as usual, but their lamb was so tender and lovely.

I went last night and the food was lovely. All natural colours. Freshly cooked and delicious flavours. Highly recommend. Great Indian food and lovely people!!

Very expensive for what you have

Delicious curry but unfortunately it was delivered with half of the sauce in the paper bag. Really disappointing. I remember last time we ordered there was a fair bit of spillage but this time it was even worse! Hopefully this can be looked into so that wherever the problem is it can be rectified.

Soft lovely music was playing when we arrived but soon stopped and we ate in silence. Food was lush, so tasty! We had scallops, chicken tikka, sag paneer, and onion bhaji’s.. We had poppadoms to start with and our fingers were a bit sticky so asked for something to wipe our hands with, there was nothing available so had to go to toilets to wash hands. Chicken tikka was a bit dry. Altogether a lovely experience, just wanted to give an honest review. Will definitely recommend and return.

Popped in here after a difficult monday, with no expectations except to be fed as we were stressed and hungry. Wow! We were treated to a delicious meal that was certainly the nicest we've had in ages. Plump prawns, beautifully spiced and a dish called chattinad which my husband just loved. 100% recommend and would certainly return... with everyone we know!

Since this restaurant was renamed ‘Indian Kitchen’, it has been our go to place for an excellent meal. Tonight, being my birthday we booked a table for our first meal out post lockdown. Oh dear, has this restaurant changed hands? The menu seems to have changed since I last went and the delicious bits of tasty lamb tikka starter were not mentioned. I plumped for onion bhaji. These were hard, crunchy and very over cooked. For my main meal I ordered Tandoori Chicken. There was no breast meat, just two small drumsticks and two thighs, there was no colour or taste to any of the meat, I left nearly all of it. My husband ordered some sort of duck curry and requested that it was served with plain rice and not the saffron rice. It came with the saffron rice! When he pointed this out the waiter grabbed a plate from another table and proceeded to scrape the saffron rice off of my husbands plate while it was still in front of him. My husband had to lean back or it would have gone into his lap. He was brought the correct rice, which was tipped onto his plate by the waiter. After taking a bite my husband left half of the food as the duck was over cooked and very tough. We were not really attended to or asked if everything was ok, so all in all I would now avoid this restaurant. Food and service really not up to much.

My husband’s cousin had had this restaurant recommended to him, so it seemed an ideal venue for a reunion where we could have good food and chat in a relaxed atmosphere. The decor was nice, and the service was very attentive. The young lady was most pleasant and even brought an addition to the table to hold our extra dishes /glasses. (A jug of water was brought as a matter of course).It had the top hygiene rating and I can confirm that the ladies toilet was very clean! We asked for recommendations, as some of the “signature dishes” were unfamiliar to us, but based on our usual choices in our home town, the gentleman gave us good advice. My Lamb Chattinad was spicily hot as requested and the meat was very tender. My husband had Chicken Lababdar and was very impressed with the amount of chicken breast , our host tried the Tawa duck as wanted something different and again was impressed with the quality of the meat. His wife had something with chicken and saag (spinach) and enjoyed hers too. I would say these curries are something special and not “run of the mill” and we enjoyed having something special.

The best curry I've ever had and the ingredients are top quality. Suresh is a generally friendly bloke which comes out in his cooking. Unless I'm far away in a different country, I will never eat a curry any where else. The Americans have a saying. "If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it". So I won't, the "Indian Kitchen" will do for me...☆☆☆☆☆

DELICIOUS! So after noticing my local Indian takeaway slowly slipping in the taste department I looked for somewhere else and Googled best Indians in Bristol... Lots came up so I just opted for Indian Fast food as it was only about a 10 min drive. My wife and I absolutely loved it. The only constructive feedback is that the saag paneer could have been more garlicky and the onion bjhaji a tiny bit crunchier.

Food suggestion from the waiter, chicken chattinad, was excellent: medium with explosions of flavour from the spices. I had some chickpeas as a side dish as well as rice, but I was struggling to finish because the portions were generous. Very friendly service.

Absolutely disgusted with this service. I was ordering for a vulnerable adult living a 5 minute drive away who is self isolating like many on their birthday. Spent 45 pounds on a meal and rang the restaurant to confirm the delivery address. Having provided the address I got told off over the phone for asking them to deliver to an area they dont deliver to. Instead I suggested the order be cancelled which they refused too! They then asked how much more was I willing to pay their driver to deliver to the address?! They were trying to extort money out of me when I suggested they cancel the order again the chef said he would do it this one time but not again! I've had no favours from being verbally abused to paying for food I offered to have cancelled and then the person receiving the food was forced to leave the house with family inside and collect the leaking food boxes from being placed near bins ! The driver then also got aggressive explaining he had a family to feed and they shouldn't be delivering to the pistol code. Message to restaurant - if someone suggests you cancel the order then cancel as supposed to taking money you do not need and abusing customers. You are providing a service in these challenging circumstances and should not be exploiting people or shouting at them. These people could not get to a supermarket so relied on you for a nice meal which was totally ruined by your attitude and stale food.

Have been coming here since I was a child (I'm now 32) and have NEVER had a bad experience at this resturant. This is the best curry house I've been to and what makes this are the following: Great staff make you feel like family AMAZING flavoursome food Reasonable prices After dinner mints and hot towels Do yourself a favour and have a pint at the pub opposite to really whet your appetite! The service was good, at times a little too attentive. The quality of food was good, however the Dhal was spicy, which we had ordered for the kids so that came as a bit of a shock,they did however kindly replace it for a new one but by this time the kids were to tired and had filled up on nann and poppadoms. My main (chicken stuffed with paneer) sounded lovely but for me it was too creamy and lacked flavour. My husbands meal was really good, full of flavour.
