I enjoyed my dining experience here at Bandook with my family. The food were all delicious and flavoursome, I especially like their curry and biriyani. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly. I look forward coming back soon.

The biryani Was well balanced with spices me impersonate it was well balanced with a bit of a kick but did not blow your head off. I went from medium spice and I also went with someone who doesn’t like Spice And met to his requirements and And had mild and he said he really enjoyed it and the server was really a common dating and was helping us understand the different levels and explain the dishes on the menu very clearly and the food perfect

I've been with my partner twice now, and both times we've had truly delicious curries. A lot of places talk the talk about having a "perfect blend" of spices, but Bandook delivers - "Grandma knows best!".

The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere, and is tucked away from the high street. The food is tasty and safe such as the lamb curry, although some items are much more flavourful than others. It is quite expensive for what you are getting, unless getting the biryani. Service was quite good, although we had to wait for dishes to arrive for everyone to eat at the same time.

the biryanis were incredible, bursting with flavour and a complimentary yoghurt. Ali welcomed us in with lovely service throughout! compliments to the chef :)

Excellent modern Indian street food. Small, cozy and friendly. Food cooked fresh to order, flavous superb and balanced. We had Onion Bhajis with green chutney and parthia topped authentic lamb biriani. Highly reccomended

I recently dined at Bandook and had a great experience. We tried the biryani, Gobi 65, and paneer chili. The biryani was fragrant and well-spiced, while the Gobi 65 was crispy with a nice kick. The paneer chili was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. We were hosted by Devi, she was attentive and friendly, enhancing our meal with her great service. Overall, Bandook is a fantastic spot for authentic Indian cuisine. I'll definitely be back!

Really good Indian restaurant on Cargo2. The aubergine curry was amazing, however, seating was a bit tight and nowhere to leave our coats on (sat on stools). Service very friendly and approachable!

Brilliant. Just what I needed to rid me of the autumn blues. Aaron - the beautiful host - treated me like royalty! He guided me through the menu with grace and patience, made me a delightful cocktail and saw that all my needs were met. This little gem in the centre of Bristol was a real treat and made my overnight trip perfect. The fish and chicken wings were delicious, but the biriani was the real show stopper. Can't recommend this place enough id you feel like indulging at an affordable price.

Very tasty, with some more unusual twists within the small plates, I could quite happily eat a bucket of the lamb keema spring rolls.

I've been here a few times over the last few years -- I always love it and will come back. The service was perfect, someone was always there with a smile if you needed them but not watching over you like a hawk! Very friendly and generous giving us a table with no booking. My partner and I had the jackfruit biryani, chilli paneer, cauliflower gobi and masala fries. The flavours are something else, each dish had it's special place but the masala fries and the cauliflower gobi were to die for - amazing flavours and textures and freshly cooked! The biryani was fragrant and a generous portion. Finished off the meal with a hot masala chai. Perfection :) Their menu lays out the allergies clearly as well which is much appreciated, and there are LOADS of great gluten-free option.

Vegi curry didn’t have a lot of flavour. Just coconut milk and a few pieces of aubergine. Given the quality wasn’t great it’s over priced. Please reduce price or increase quality.

The yummiest food I’ve had in ages and Devi was the sweetest and most perfect host! The quickest service I’ve ever had and honestly so beautifully displayed. Devi was brilliant and so friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was spicy and balanced well. Cocktails and a well needed lassi finishes off a great meal.

A very pleasant evening at Bandook! We (3 humans & 1 dog) arrived without booking and were promptly provided a table. Devi was attentive but not overbearing, complimented us on our menu selections and was happy to provide some water for our four-legged companion. To eat we shared small plates; the daal, tikka fries and samosa were our top picks but everything was tasty and fresh. Would recommend.

Was empty when we arrived. Zero engagement from waiter. No specials, so very limited menu. Tiny beers. Overpriced everything, but waiter still tried to overselling us with extras. Breads were greasy. Tiny plates. Then they added a 'service charge' to our bill! £25+ each for a very disappointing meal. Won't go there again.....

Llegamos alrededor de las 9 pm y deseamos haber pasado más tiempo buscando una casa de curry adecuada. El lugar es muy básico, taburetes y mesas pequeñas. Supongo que sirve para una rápida caída en la comida, que está bien, pero a £ 19 para un pequeño tazón de curry y arroz, es sobreprecio. El menú es muy limitado, el biryani solo parecía ser un curry con arroz hervido añadido. La paratha (no Naan disponible) estaba completamente empapada de aceite. Solo el lado bueno era el camarero amable.

Must visit this place. Excellent Service by staff. Especially the Lamb and Chicken Biryani by Chef Praneeth was the most authentic we've had all over the UK. Starters by Chef Dilwur were awesome too.

This restaurant is like a pop up. This area has restaurants made of joined steel containers all lined up in a row. They are in the area near the river Avon in Bristol. I was glad that we chose this one. Our host Devi explained about all the dishes and we ended up with beautifully prepared Indian food. The photos below show how exquisite the food is. We will be back.

The Biriani was not Biriani! I'm sorry. I wanted this place to be good but it wasn't. The food looks nothing like the pictures. I went with a South Indian friend and we both thought the Biriani was poor and it was just tomato flavour rice. Its also v expensive. I felt embarrassed taking her there for lunch. The waiting staff was lovely. Would not return

Fabulous Indian food. We had a number of the small plates and every one was packed with flavour and utterly delicious. Unpretentious atmosphere and genuine friendly service. Brilliant.

Food was banging! Staff and service was great. Easy to walk past this place as it’s the first at the top of the stairs but you really should stop! We had fish fritters, a lamb roll, chicken and lamb biryanis and cocktails and it was all super tasty.

Absolutely fantastic place! We both had the chicken curry which was reasonably priced and served very quick. Our server was Devi and she was lovely. 10/10 would recommend this spot.

Had a lovely meal at Bandook with my partner. The menu has a good amount of choice and you can get small plates or bigger dishes like a biryani. The food represents good value for money. Seating is mostly outdoor so much better to visit here in the summer. The outdoor seats are part of the walkway amongst the shipping containers so there are a lot of people walking past. Lots of deliveroo riders rushing around which was a bit negative for the atmosphere. The tables are made of what looks like reclaimed wood but they have a really rough uneven surface which actually made it hard to put drinks down safely! Would love just an even table. Service was Ok, food came quickly but didn't really see the servers much after our orders. Took a while to get the bill but service was pleasant enough.

Food was some of the best Indian food I have had. The flavour was complex and left you wanting more. We had several appetizers and I had the lamb curry bowl. We will come back and try more. Great experience.

We keep coming back! Great food as ever, loads of delicious vegetarian options and really accommodating for allergy sufferers too (not an easy combo for eating out). Super friendly service from Sina. Highly recommended!

We ordered masala fries, chilli paneer, parathas, baingan moilee and "Grandma's" curry. The first three were good, but the mains were poor - both were just watery soups of a dish, with moilee being almost devoid of the main ingredient. We saw a dal delivered to a neighbouring table, and again, this was just a very watery soup. Service was equally poor. One eye-rolling Gen Z, with a face like a slapped behind, giving every customer dirty looks and one unbelievably patronising. A fixed service charge for that is just not cool. Has potential to be so much better. Have a word with your staff and stop turning sauces into watery soups.

Devishi and chef smashed it, will be back. Get the pani puri.

Very friendly staff and accommodating , we ordered vegetarian food but were not fan of jackfruit so the chef instantly offered to replace it with Paneer in the dish . Food was good and we had good time . Only drawback was portions were too small for the price . Will visit again . 😊

Hands down the best restaurant in Bristol. From the exceptional service to the mouth watering food, it's safe to say we WILL be returning to Bandook. My brother and I took our mum down and we all left wanting to go back the next day! The staff were very polite and were constantly making sure our experience was the best it could be. Huge credit to the management and ownership team, they clearly care a lot about their food and customer satisfaction. If you haven't been yet.. I would highly recommend it.

Three of us had a fabulous tiffin lunch here. The top dish of the Tiffin contained the starter of a deconstructed samosa which was delicious. The next layer a generous portion of rice and the bottom tier the curry. Two of us had Granny’s chicken and the third the tarka Dahl. All were excellent. I also had the gulab jamun for desert which again was excellent. On paying the bill we were expecting to pay £15 each for the Tiffins but were pleasantly surprised to find they were on offer at only £10. So a 3 course meal for £14! Amazing value, and great service. We will be back. Ps the indoor dining area is small so you may want to book a table

Small indoor seating area with no place to put your coats. Portions are small for the price. I ordered chicken curry and it was delicious but it came with 3x pieces of chicken and a lot of sauce which was a bit spicy and delicious for my taste. My friends ordered different Biryani and they were asking me for sauce because meat was quite dry.

We went before a gig at the Louisiana and couldn’t recommend highly enough. We had the fish fritters, cauliflower, msala fries and spring rolls and totally perfect and brilliant service too! We will certainly be back and highly recommend!

Delicious food and great service

The food in here is absolutely delicious - highly recommend the chicken curry, fish fritters and chilli paneer. Personally I like the shipping container vibe at Wapping Wharf - small intimate spaces with open kitchens - I know it's not for everyone but I think it feels nice and cosy and the smell of the food while it's cooking in here is just unreal. I would say wrap up warm if it's cold weather when you visit as it can be pretty chilly inside!

Fantastic Indian street food with lots of twists on old classics

We had an absolutely delicious meal at Bandook last night. Every mouthful was heaven. I have serious allergies and they were able to accommodate me without any stress. Highly recommended. We can’t wait to visit again.

The managers accepted more bookings than the restaurant could accommodate which meant that groups of people were split up, others asked to move, and tables squashed together. Very disappointing.

AVOID - VERY DISAPPOINTING. We booked & paid a deposit over a month ago yet they messed us around throughout. When we arrived they made us wait outside in the cold for over 20 minutes because they overbooked the restaurant. When they let us in they made two of our group sit on a separate table for an hour! We were squeezed in as they had accepted too many bookings. Some dishes were late and others didn’t arrive. Despite all of this, no apology or deduction was offered to our bill. One especially rude member of staff just looked at us blankly and just said ‘no’ when we politely asked for a deduction to our bill, instead insisting that we buy more drinks! He had hovered around our table for most of the evening, making us feel uncomfortable and at one point saying something to us which was extremely inappropriate and creepy. In the end, Bandook offered to ‘take off’ the optional service charge as a ‘gesture of good will’, which was a joke! They also didn’t bring out the birthday cake we had provided them earlier for our friend as a surprise. Just to top it all off, they didn’t take the deposit off our bill and refused to refund us the £45 deposit afterwards because ‘the supervisor wasn’t there’. Honestly terrible service, I will not be going back ever and recommend others avoid at all costs. So, so disappointing. Couple of bonus points: did not give us cutlery until we’d all started eating with our fingers, and smoked out the restaurant routinely, making us cough and splutter.

If you are looking for a relaxing enjoyable dining experience … give this place a miss. There was over booking en mass. Multiple groups were asked to come back, the numbers they were trying to fit into their small restaurant were greedy and completely unrealistic. We were asked to move four times during our meal, sitting uncomfortably close to other customers on all sides, eventually ending up unreachable from service and having to move twice (again) to allow other customers to leave. Food is basic and gimmicky. Service is appalling… the drinks order wasn’t taken for over 20 minutes, we got up to get our own cutlery, dishes we missed off the order and this is all while 4 waiters were on hand covering a total of 5 tables. We left with no apology given and a service charge to pay….

Three of us turned up on spec and we're lucky enough to get a table. Our drinks orders were taken almost immediately whilst we studied the menu. Not being able to decide what to try we opted for some small dishes to share plus some curries. All dishes bar one were vegan. We had the pani puri, onion and fenugreek pakora, gobi, steamed rice, grandma's chicken curry and Keralan moilee. It was all delicious, hot and very tasty. The food was cooked to order and, bearing in mind that these guys have a tiny kitchen, they are doing a great job. There was a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely return.

Rip off…although the food tasted lovely. 3 pieces of jack fruit in the biriani (with no other vegetables) at £15 couldn’t be justified. I had to ask for my coconut dish to be reheated - it was luke warm- and I think it had 3 pieces of aubergine in it. The chaat was tasty. My boiled rice was a very small portion. The whole thing was underwhelming and overpriced. When I said that I felt that that 3 pieces of jackfruit was not enough, the waiter nodded his head and said there was nothing he could do. I suggested he fed it back to the chef and manager. He didn’t appear to care. There was lots going on- lots of frantic too- ing and fro-ing, didn’t seem like there were enough staff. Won’t be going back.

Loved our evening here. We asked for a table quite late in the evening so they had a very limited menu, despite that all the dishes we had were great. Pani puri, samosa chaat and chicken biryani were great. Nice to have some indian street food rather than a traditional curry house experience. Fresh, tasty and decent portions. Staff very welcoming, accommodating and friendly too!
