Od'thorpes Cafe in Leicester

Popped in for lunch, absolutely lovely, friendly staff, excellent food, relaxed atmosphere. Full Monty breakfast for me, salmon baguette for my partner, quality ingredients, well cooked and presented.

Just a really nice coffee and scrummy cakes. Pleasant premises with friendly staff. Brunch being cooked for other customers smelled great too!

A hidden gem!! This is the best place we have ever been to for breakfast. The food was of such good quality and the service from the lads behind the counter was second to none. The variety of options on both drinks and food is brilliant and there is something for everyone. Officially our favourite place and we can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. The homemade cakes were the best part. We took them away and had them at home and WOW!!!! Great job all what a lovely cafe!! Xx

The cafe was basically empty which was pleasant but provided the noise of talking behind the counter which was quite loud. The food was quite nice but the cafe was hidden down a drive.

I first visited Od'thorpes cafe after lockdown ended, and now it's become a favourite for a Saturday morning coffee or brunch! The cafe is conveniently located across the road from the station road car park, so ideal for visiting and doing a bit of shopping. The cafe has an outdoor seating area set back from the road, so is very pleasant in good weather. The staff are welcoming and friendly. I often treat myself to the full English breakfast, but I recently tried the bacon baguette - the bacon is grilled and lovely and crispy, and the warmed baguette is freshly baked from the oven and slightly crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended.

If you’re visiting Quorn and need breakfast or lunch this is the place to try. It has a small indoor seating area and tables outside in the courtyard, with shade if you need it. Dogs are welcome outside in the courtyard too. Delicious breakfasts, on this occasion popped in for lunch. Lovely freshly homemade egg mayo sandwiches with side salad, coleslaw, and nacho chips, plentiful. Sister had jacket potatoes with tuna mayo and salad. They have plenty of choice on the menu and serve breakfast items til 12. Also do takeaways which you can pre order and pick up if you can’t eat in. Friendly service. Great place and great value. Close at 2.30pm. Not open Mondays.

Below average. I always avoid this place. The coffee is rubbish but you still get charged (bean to cup) prices. The food is fine. The inside is cramped and dark. I’d rather go elsewhere or just have a decent coffee at home and save a fortune. Shame.

A lovely restaurant with a good, off road garden position. However, our coffee took a long time to arrive ( I can see that this has been mentioned before). Also, the coffee was extremely hot and had a poor, weak flavour. Surely the coffee is basic for a coffee shop?!

We had an absolutely beautiful takeaway Afternoon Tea from Od’thorpes. Everything was so fresh & tasty & it was beautifully presented. The staff were so accommodating to our requirements & nothing was too much trouble. In these unprecedented times of Lockdown, I highly recommend treating yourself to an Afternoon Tea.

The restaurant is taking good measures to keep customers safe. There is hand sanitizer, temperatures taken at the door, and good distance between tables. Most staff were wearing face masks or visors. It's an attractive place with reasonably quick and professional service, but I prefer a more homey and friendly atmosphere. The food I had was uneven in quality. My toastie was great and came with lovely slaw and salad, but the scone was a let down. Half of it crumbled immediately upon trying to spread jam on it - I've attached pics, and for a large scone, you get a very small packet of jam. I'd rather they charge a bit more for it and get at least enough to cover both halves. Worst of all though, someone put way too much bicarb of soda (it tasted like) because the scone left a rather unpleasant aftertaste.

Having travelled down from Yorkshire to meet with a friend, this place chosen by him, was a great place to meet and catch up. Spotlessly clean and Covid19 guidelines compliant, we had no complaints. Feeling hungry I went for the 'Big Breakfast' along with a couple of coffees. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Reassuring to be given a temperature check on arrival and shown to our well spaced table. Will definitely make a point in revisiting this friendly cafe.

My friend took me here as a treat for afternoon tea, it was lovely, very tasty! I would recommend this cafe it is quite small inside so I’d recommend booking if you are going to make a social trip over there!

Visited for the first time with my mum and daughter while we was looking around the food and craft fair on sunday. We tried a few of the different milkshakes and smoothies they had to offer along with a sandwich. They was quite clearly busy and every member of staff who served us or brought drinks/food apologised, we was warned there would be a wait upon ordering. It was all lovely and definitely worth the short wait. We will be visiting again. Polite staff with great food, what's not to love!

Ordered milkshakes were ok expected more flavour service was ok they were super busy so i cleaned my own table which wasn't an issue. Prices were ok not too expensive. toilet with baby changing facilities however no nappy bin. on the whole was nice.

Just been in to od’thorpes for a breakfast it was outstanding and all so fresh!!! All the staff were lovely and the service was excellent thankyou all so much we will definitely be returning!!

Looking forward to a great breakfast but let down by tinned tomatoes and a poor quality sausage. Will not return

Visited for the first time today as we had a voucher for afternoon tea. It was absolutely lovely and left us both stuffed!! The homemade quiche and sausage rolls were divine and the service was great. I would definitely recommend a visit to Od’thorpes!

Took my friend for afternoon tea as a birthday surprise ! Od’thorpes’s have just started doing this so it was very reasonably priced. Lovely location and sun was shining so managed to get a table outside. What can I say , please see the photo, food was plentiful, delicious and fresh. Staff friendly and had a happy vibe about the place. You will need to book. Highly recommend!

Really didn't rate the food here at all. Stodgy bread, eggs were overdone and overall very underwhelming and not good value for money. Such a shame because the location is lovely.

I recently met up with a friend at Od'thorpes for a catch up. Friendly service, good coffee and a nice slice of Victoria sponge. Situated opposite the main central carpark in Quorn its easy to find. There is some but limited outside seating where you can enjoy the summer sun,

My husband and I stopped off here before attending a Memorial service at the local church. We chose to be seated outside as the inside was mostly taken up with screaming children.

This is a little hidden cafe perfect for a breakfast or snack and a drink. I had seen good reviews about their meals and I was not disappointed.

I visited Od’thorpes cafe last Friday. Despite being busy the staff were very attentive and helpful. As I have to have gluten free products they were very helpful in explaining to me their gluten free products. In the end I went for a gluten free breakfast. I also had one of their kale kick smoothies (which were amazing). The smoothie was made fresh and was very delicious, my friend also had one of the freshly made milkshakes which she said was the tastiest she’s ever tried.

Attending a weekend course in Quorn, we dropped by for a quick lunch on a busy Saturday. Staff was very accommodating although all seats were taken both inside and outside the small cafe. the Food arrived after a bit of wait and tasted like a genuine home cooked meal.

Came here for lunch after tandem cycling from Loughborough. Very warm friendly service and a delicious jacket potato - just the ticket on a cold, wet and dreary day.

I visited with my son for a treat of hot chocolate and biscuit for me and a milkshake and mini cupcake for him. The first lady who served me seemed confused and like she was waiting for something else from me. The cafe was very quiet and despite this it took a good few minutes for my hot chocolate to be brought over and then much longer for my son's milkshake. Nearly ten minutes.

We've been a few times for Saturday brunch. It can be busy so not always the best choice if it's downpouring as there aren't too many seats inside. Great on sunny days though as there's plenty of outside seating available. Good choice of breakfast/lunch type items. Staff very friendly.

A lovely outdoor seating area. But there is a but! The coffee is terribly weak and took longer than expected to arrive. We asked for another shot of coffee in our drinks - which we got, but sadly there was no dialogue or apology or concern that a customer was not satisfied. I feel it's necessary to write this review as its not the first time this has happened.

Good for light lunches and morning coffee. Sometimes the tables are taken by business people who use it like an office for the WiFi.

They maybe "fast-foods" but they are very good quality paninis, toasties, baked potatoes, burgers etc. There is a very good selection of fillings and prices are good.

Setting is lovely on a warm summers day, some of the tastiest pancakes I've ever had. Staff always helpful and friendly, can't wait for our next visit!

Un pequeño gran Cafe, que sirve aperitivos y comidas caseras hechas en frente de usted, así que sé que es una cocina limpia y bien mantenida. Señoras encantadoras obligar con todas las combinaciones de opciones de un menú variado.

Whilst passing through quorn for a short break we decided to pull over and find brekkie. We found an easter egg hunt for children arouund the whole village going on starting at the village hall to collect your map and clues. Nice to see but we needed food . Then we stumbled apon od thorpes cafe tucked away in a small courtyard. Serving breakfast all day with a lovely whaft of bacon floating across I was sold at the gate. It has indoor and courtyard dining . Smoking and non smoking tables outside. Now food, food was served quickly , presented fabulously, with great happy smiling staff. 10/10 for me and well deserved. Oddthorpes has to be my favourite place to eat. Only this morning I had full english breakfast. Nicely prepared with everything on your plate you would expect from a dull english. I often vall in jyst for a coffee and a bacon butty. In fact fir me are the cakes yes a perfect place to visit with convenient parking opposit. Almost forgot the smashing staff always a smile. Warm days sat outside just perfect. If you are in ir near Quorn call in. Yiu will be impressed im sure....

A popular venue for brunch and lunch, we are regulars. Their food is always well-prepared and you can't beat their cooked breakfasts (quality produce, pan-fried or grilled - not deep fried). All the sandwiches are freshly prepared, so you can order precisely what you want. Try the ice-cream milk shakes, really tasty! The prices are reasonable and the service is prompt and friendly. Best daily brunch venue for miles.

Called in here for coffee and a light snack, it is not very spacious ( about 7 indoor tables and a couple outside. ) and was full with families and children as it was half term week. The gluten free options are very good, the drinks and food were piping hot and very tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only thing I had a problem with is that used tables were not cleared quick enough and the floor was a bit messy, but in their defence, it was half term week as I said, and they were advertising for more staff, but I would definitely return again when I am next in the area. This was a good little find. !

We went for breakfast. It was empty and so we sat down comfortably and ordered breakfasts. Service was efficient and polite. Drinks were brought over promptly and very hot. Breakfasts were tasty and well-portioned. And decent veggie sausages. Plates were cold so breakfast cooled too quickly.A major downside to this cafe is the open kitchen. It might invite trust to show where food is prepared and cooked but the woefully-inadequate extractor fan (smaller than my domestic one) means the smells... and smoke... from cooking fill the dining area. As the cafe is so dinky, there was no way to avoid this. By the end of the meal, my eyes were stinging and when I got home, I had to shower and change all my clothes because the smell of bacon would not disappear. As someone who does not eat meat, this was particularly objectionable. Good for food, better if plates were hot but atmosphere not pleasant.

I have heard many good reviews and so I traveled over an hour to visit! What a good idea. I have never had such lovely service and the food was amazing. The produce was obviously fresh and my order even though a very busy morning was made to order. High recommend! I will be returning in the very near future and will be bringing people as cannot fault anything about this experience. If your ever in the area Od'Thorpes is a must visit!

We've been here a few times and it's lovely every time! It feels so posh and chic in there but without the snobby price tag and attitude! It's a bit of a squeeze as we have a little girl and getting the pushchair in and out is a bit of a pain but other than that it's wonderful. On a related note, apologies to the staff and customers in on thursday - our daughter had just some jabs, wasn't feeling herself so wasn't in the best of moods - thankyou so much to the ladies working, who didn't make an issue of it or humiliate us in any way!Also. I made the right choice when I opted for the flapjack - flipping delicious! Well recommended!

Lovely food and a nice outside area my husband and I popped in for a quick snack the food was excellent and the service very good the place has an outside area that was lovely or you could eat inside if preferred it was very reasonably priced and a good range of food on the menu the milk shakes are to die for lovely and thick with ice cream and lots of flavour I recommend this place for a lovely lunch

I regularly meet friends here for drinks and food. Highly recommend. The healthy smoothies are a great addition. Good portion size is decent and food freshly prepared. Good work in a tiny kitchen area!

Oddthorpes and the staff alway make you feel welcome , and the food & drinks are always excellent ! Would recommend them to anyone when visiting Quorn!

My wife and I discovered this cafe some years ago and we have now become regular visitors even though we do not live in Quorn. They do a wonderful all day breakfast which if you do not want particular items on the menu eg: no baked beans can be varied accordingly. They also do a wide variety jacket potatoes, sandwiches, salads, cake etc. As it is a family run cafe the atmosphere is welcoming and the cafe itself with its outside seating is clean and hygenic. Previous derogatory comments by another reviewer are probably based on a single visit. If they were regular customers like my wife and I they would soon realise that this establishment 'punches above its weight' to make people feel welcome and serve good, honest food well. It is a pleasure to visit this cafe on a regular basis and both my wife look forward to going at least twice a week.

Decent value, good honest quality food but let down by too many staff seemingly lingering around. The last few visits I've seen the same member of staff constantly grazing on food and serving tables with a mouthful. Very unprofessional.Another time I've seen someone wander off the street (a relative of the owners perhaps) and been allowed to help themselves and cook their own food despite a queue of people waiting for theirs.Has the potential to be great but the lack of responsibility in staff management and etiquette let's this place down.

An 'odd' looking place from the outside, but great staff and good food. The pancakes were delicious. Nice to see a young member of staff smiling - usually nowadays staff are vacant. Worth a visit

Went with my partner and had the full monty breakfast which was fantastic. Helped probably by the lovely sunny day so we were able to sit outside. Not sure how they make the hash brown but I need that recipe as it was delicious.Good coffee to which was nice way to end the meal.Nice to find a place that will soon become a regular eating place

One of my favourite spots for coffee and especially the breakfast. Happily it's served all day! Consistently great food, always fresh, and good service.

Waited 25 minutes for 2 Americano's while watching the assistant serving take way rolls to customers who came in after us. Their system needs a thorough re think to ensure customers are served in order and promptly. Toilet opening on to cafe seating area not ideal. Outdoor seating area lovely on a sunny day.

Had the pleasure of going to Od'Thorpes Cafe on Saturday last while on family break in Leicester. Enjoyed delicious breakfast, perfectly hot coffee.....scrumptious cakes and cupcakes for the kids. What a wonderful cafe to visit for a fantastic breakfast, indeed looking at all the happy faces, any meal or beverage! I visited on a bustling and busy sunny Saturday and was greeted by friendly,smiling and professional staff. I would thoroughly recommend this delightful little cafe.

My sister and myself decided to take our youngest sister to Quorn for a nice few hours out. We decide to pop into Od'thorpes Cafe for something light to eat and a drink. The furnishings and general appearance of the environment seemed lovely, beautifully complimented by the sunny weather. However, the service we received whilst paying was awful. The mature lady that served us was rude, uninterested and patronising. I can appreciate that the staff were probably were not in the best of moods working in this heat, but just being able to at least try and crack a smile would have been nice. No one bothered to ask how we were, no eye contact whilst making our orders/paying nor did they ask how our food was etc. I have worked in many successful and franchised cafés and I can honestly say I would never have dreamt of treating any customers like that, nor would that sort of attitude be tolerated by my employers. Put it this way, the next time I want to be treated like a peasant, I will go back to this café. Make sure when you pay, you flash them a wad of cash, that way you might at least get a pleasant response out of this lady.

Was a lovely place for a family lunch and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Food was great, staff were lovely and good to see that Odthorpes employ younger members of staff.

Efficient and polite service. Tasty freshly cooked food, good choice of beverages. Lovely place for breakfast, light lunch or indeed just call in for coffee. Outdoor seating in a sun trap - fantastic! I've been a dozen times and never been disappointed.

Delicious food and very reasonably priced! The cake was also delicious with good sized portions - will definitely be coming back for more. Also had some very sweet gift ideas all homemade. Overall was brill

Nice menu, sensible price, tasty food well presented, nice atmosphere. Ideal for a lunch or a coffee stop.
