Oakford Social Club in Reading

Used to be good for live music, reasonably priced beer and a very enjoyable night. Now, £7 pint of mediocre larger, no discernible music an appalling toilets

Came here for a work event. Was Pride night so was busy which is to be expected. However does not have ability to set up a tab so spent the entire evening queueing at the bar getting drink which put me off booking here again for another corporate meal. Drag was great and staff lovely but such a silly rule when someone has booked a table

I recently visited Oakford Social Club and had an exceptional experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The decor has a perfect blend of classic charm and modern comfort, making it a great place to relax and unwind. What really stood out to me was the incredible staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Our servers, Georgia , Ben , flo, herminonie and Pete went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic evening, offering excellent recommendations and making sure our drinks were always topped up. The food was delicious, with a great variety of options to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for classic pub fare or something a bit more adventurous, there's something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed their whiskey selection, which perfectly complemented the meal. For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, their Pepsi was refreshingly crisp. Overall, Oakford Social Club is a gem in our community in Reading. The combination of great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding staff makes it a must-visit. I can't wait to go back and enjoy another wonderful evening there !

Popped in last night for a quick drink and the venue was buzzing with a great at atmosphere.. One bar staff in particular was working hard by himself (Matthew).. makes a mean Mojito! Will visit again soon

This place is a consistent drinking spot for me and my mates. Birthdays, work socials or just catch ups - this place never misses. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and always up for a laugh. Standouts have to be Sam and Hermione. Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.

New to Reading and have to say this has become my favourite pub! Good prices, ice cold beers and the food is great with reasonable prices. Massive thank you to Georgia, one of the bartenders. Friendly, smart and witty. Can’t recommend this place more :)

Calamari was discusting , smelt fishy and was slimey. Managers attitude wasn't any better when I ask for the calamari to be replaced with fries. She stated she will replace the awful calamari with more awful calamar!....Really?...Sooooo bad

Sam is a legend ! Great venue and vibe. Take time out of your day to visit this brilliant location right by the train station. As a band playing the pub we were looked after like royalty and made to feel very welcome.

Amazing hospitality, Sam is amaziing and gave us the most exceptional service. Highly recommend will be coming back here every time I'm in Reading.

An amazing leaving do for a colleague from work. I love the chilled vibe. You can hear people talk in here, and the service is brilliant. Wish we had one in Basingstoke! Also, gotta love a picture booth. Can't wait for my 5th trip back.

Great bar shame about the items on the menu that couldn't be ordered and the food coming out cold. No fuss and a fresh plate delivered so cannot complain there. Great beers on tap and gins !! Also lovely when a band is on. Well worth a visit!! Menu is very nice !!

Best wings in Reading. Hot and tasty. Corn ribs were amazing.

So sad. Good chance for a bar. Boring; empty with poor DJ and no space. Staff act like 12year old kids, no personality or social skills. Serve drinks like they are forced to work. Drinks good selection. Large open space and zero atmosphere entertainment or style. Toilets a shambles…rolls and mess everywhere. Staff hanging around bar like kids instead of Cleaning up and maintaining the place. Get some adults in. Very sad attitude full stop. Second time to Reading, and the number one place that’s put me off the place. I’d close it down if I were you!
