TGI Fridays in Reading

Food quality was really poor for how expensive it is and when I got in contact about it they never even replied!

We picked this location as it was near to our hotel. After a day of queuing at legoland we all just wanted to sit down, eat some nice food and go to bed. We were booked for 7.30 but started queuing(outside in the cold) at 7.05 in the hope of getting seated early. We were finally seated at 7.30! It took 45minutes for our drinks to come after arriving. We ordered food but was then told they had no hot dogs buns and also no veggie sausages so our toddler ended up having hot dogs and mash. It took an hour from being seated to our food arriving. We were sat right by the kitchen so I could see the food waiting under the heat lamps way too long. Other customers from a hen party came down to complain mutliple times whilst we were there! The only table they seemed bothered about was the birthday party they'd messed up. The whole area was meant to be reserved but they'd seated people up there and then panicked when the party arrived! Food was good once we got it but the atmosphere wasn't great, it's a good job we had colouring to keep the kids busy whilst waiting. This place has plenty of potential if ran properly!

Nice atmosphere, did sing to my Son to make his birthday memorable The cocktails are 2for1 but very pricey £16 each, we ended up with a huge bill because they weren't priced on the menu. Luckily we had the money to pay. Be Ware!

Truly bloody awful. Service was fine, but one kids fish fingers were burned and couldn't be eaten, the other kids hotdogs came in a bigger bun as the finger rolls were out, nit a big deal but another poor detail. My fajitas were genuinely inedible, there was so much garlic I couldn't taste anything else

Ordered 2 mocktails, came with mouldy strawberry. Ordered kids meal, the mashed potato was inedible, sent it back they brought the same.... The sesame chicken didn't have sesame, the apple slice what came with the kids menu was rotten. The server has tried but they seem to be understaffed so not a great experience. I wouldn't recommend it and definitely not going to any other Friday's after this.

TGI Fridays is now disappointing, I got to the Reading City Centre Branch for my child’s birthday. The service from Sen the bartender was appalling, he gave us the Zombie drink in the Pinnacle collada glass and tried to convince us that nothing was different. My argument with him was, the advertised drink was not the one he gave me…I am very disappointed that I spent £77 for sub standard service. I should have listened to my daughter and gone to Nando’s or even McDonalds would have been better…you get what you pay for. I know I’m a drop in the ocean and losing me as a customer won’t change your revenue but TGI Fridays has lost me as a customer.

Atmosphere takes over anything else in here. The food is good, service also good and drinks slightly better. For something to be exceptional it takes extra care, this is somehow missing when you forget to add the chips to a steak, don’t have a wide selection on teas, don’t have enough staff and the venue seems rushed…room for improvement. Overall a positive experience with a nice easy booking service via Google.

Had an amazing experience. Food was really nice and staff were very friendly. Good place to hang out with your family and friends.

Haven’t been to TGI Fridays for years and won’t be going back again. Couldn’t believe how expensive the food was for what you get, such a shame as it could be so good. Food was ok but not worth the money.

Good and quick Prabita was funny and very attentive . Liked the ribs there Starters were the mouth watering . Will visit again .

Shockingly bad. The food quality was dreadful. Menus sticky. So overpriced. Its just very poor quality fast food. Left thinking I could have had a better experience for a fraction of the price at a fast food place. The mark up outrageous, the food quality and standards non existent. They are just taking the absolute mick. As for the 2 for 1 cocktails. Ridiculous. Avoid. Awful, nothing to recommend.

We was served by a lady called Prabita, who was exceptional. Very welcoming and friendly, and interacted with my children, even blowing them up a balloon. Food was good and fairly priced. Would definitely return.

Very limited food menu options. Quantity in starters were very less. 2 for 1 cocktail and mocktail offer is useless as why will anyone take the same cocktail twice and pay extra. The name 2 for 1 is misleading as you require paying extra to claim 2 for 1. Ordered 2 different cocktails and both tasted like cough syrup medicine. The mixing was inappropriate in both drinks. The mocktail glass had 1/4th juice and 3/4th filled with crushed ice. Rarerly had any taste than of melted ice. Had a dessert voucher which I wasn't able to use on the celebration dessert we ordered. Toilets very unclean and tables look very old. Service was good but not worth visiting again and paying a premium price for such poor quality experience.

Wasn't that impressed over priced for size

Went to tgi in reading on the 8th March 2024 with friends. I’m sorry but TGI you need to sort out the premises! Heating wasn’t working so all 6 of us had to wear our coats, 2 of the toilet in the ladies were blocked so couldn’t be used. Just a terrible premises, spend money on the place and we might come back. I will say food was lovely and our waiter Tom was exceptional so praise to him. Giving the 2 stars for food and Tom but nothing else as I would give them both 5

The place was cold. The ground floor disabled toilets , dirty, no toilet paper, the sink was disgusting. This was lunchtime so no excuses for it being the customers fault.

The food was outrageous and disgusting would not recommend.The server took about 30 minutes to come to us. We had cocktails and milkshake which tasted very cheap despite the price, the cocktails had no flavour. The burger had no taste, the beef was so bland, the cheese was nasty we paid nearly £20 for a burger which was not up to standard! Furthermore none of the staff came to ask us how our food was. Would definitely not be returning!!!

I usually visit this place and really like it. Today we were served by Prabita and r very happy with her quick and efficient service. The way she interacted with us and served us I can definitely say she has a customer centric attitude and this behaviour will help her to grow further in career. She is a star.

The waiter was lovely, and food was decent and even tuned the music down when I asked. Happy with the service.

Loved the atmosphere, listening to music while you eat services was great the wait for food wasn't long it came presented well, and tasted delicious . Quite a big restaurant lakeside. Greatvprice for dining In plenty of choice on menu included vegetarian options. Disabled access with a restroom downstairs and upstairs. Staff friendly clean and tidy eating areas

Great tasting food. Wide selection of drinks, food and had an offer of a free kids meal with each adult meal. Burger was delicious! Nice tasting fries! Music not too loud to eat and chat. 2 for 1 on cocktails, bottomless soft drinks. Prices were quite high, but would say standard pricing for the area.

Didn’t give my girl a job to work at this place, not even an email reply. Tells you all you need to know about these people. Disgusting human traffickers:(

TGIs is glorified pub grub at the end of the day, but they do some decent dishes and I do enjoy the diner-style look. They've always been a bit on the pricey side; however the cost now is pretty eye-watering! Sign of the times, perhaps, but makes it a bit more difficult to recommend.

We ordered burger. it took a long time to prepare and burgers were cold. they also did not ask how we want our burgers be cooked.

I had made a reservation at the wrong TGI’s and My fiancé and I had arrived and staff members were accommodating and understood our predicament, they quickly found us a table. Prabita waited on us and ensured we were looked after, checking in frequently. Prabita really looked after us and made our experience better.

A lovely treat with my daughter we chatted and talked about when I lived in America. The s’mores sundae was a highlight

The staff were friendly The food was very poor and wasn’t great at all. Cold and one portion was undercooked . Wouldn’t go back

Came here on Saturday 2nd Dec with my husband and my neice , had a lovely meal, service was good. A tad expensive, but the food was good. Great to see they served sparkling water in an aluminium bottle so you can use that again. Great recycling idea. I am using my bottle now .

Great food, I had the chicken platter, chips and garlic bread to share. The buffalo sauce is delicious. We enjoyed the fantastic zombie cocktails. Shout out to Shruti and Pubi for their excellent service. We will be back!

Had the sharer platter which was delicious. Cocktails are 2 for 1, highly recommend having a few and sharing. Overheard making other persons birthday very special, nice touch. Our server Tom was super friendly and helpful even on a busy Saturday night. Will be returning :)

Impromptu lunch out. Our waitress Sascha was a star, quick off the bat and friendly. Food came out quick, tasted delish. Only thing I’d say is the prices have gone up quite a lot recently, but regardless was a great trip.

Sascha was an amazing waitress so polite and helpful. The cocktails where brilliant as always and the food was to die for! Would definitely be coming back here again.

Went there 1st time with a lot to look forward to.. ordered their new £35 plus platter. It was served cold. No cutlery was given .. I had to ask for plates and forks .. spent 51 plus pounds.. disappointed..food was cold and 4 things in the whole big platter . One mushroom and 1/4 th tomato.. worst meal..will never go again

TGIs was lovely, the service was great and we were told about cocktails on promotion (£5) by our server. Food was as you'd expect from a TGIs, the only downside was an unusual smell - couldn't put my finger on what it was but otherwise great!

I went to the restaurant with my son and I was treated with good hospitality by the employees in the restaurant . The prices seemed little expensive but the taste of the food made me feel right for the amount paid . The food are delicious and good cozy vibe environment to come with family and friends.

Went the other night for some food and it was delicious with huge portions . The prices are also reasonable and the taste of the food will blow you away . Glad I got to eat in such a fine restaurant and Hope to visit soon again

Nachos and garlic bread were very nice. Burger was not good value for its price. £4 for an orange juice is robbery. Polite and friendly staff. Decor and atmosphere makes this place - very authentic US ambience.

For a TGI Friday the food was ok on our visit ( party of 10) Menu and drinks options were limited which was disappointing.... no Ribs at a TGI Friday... that's not right ... staff were great and friendly

Food was really good, but the service was somewhat disappointing!

Have been only a handful of times but every time has been fabulous the price is definitely worth it as I have never found the food to be irregular or have something wrong with it in my experience. All the staff are always very welcoming and always try to help us if there was an issue (I did have to wait a very long time for my food once despite it not being that busy).

Service was slow. Whilst not busy it seamed understaffed. Quite expensive for what it is.

Only came here for my birthday for the ribs and they didn’t have any!! Nobody else here so atmosphere was quiet but they sang well, the cocktails were great and my birthday fantastic

Great customer service, Pabitra the person that served us was very helpful, friendly, attended to all our needs and made sure we were well looked after. A valuable member of staff. Only issue we had was the chap in the kitchen was on his mobile phone whilst cooking food, handled the next customers plate without washing his hands after being on his phone! He might take his phone to the toilet etc, so a hygiene issue?

Chosen by my niece for her birthday meal. They made a fuss of her which was nice. Food was good, a bit pricey for some of the dishes but the portions were big. The garlic chips (sorry no photo) my nephew had were excellent. The American Mixed Grill was a board full of meat, didn't need much for the rest of the day after that. Staff friendly and attentive. Soft drinks were on refill so this was a good deal. Right in the centre of Reading near the car parks.

Probably one of the not so good chains of TGIF, the starters were as good as it gets but the main course was really awful, not sure why pay almost £20 for not at all good burgers here. Also the service was not good at all.

As usual, a fun, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Complimented by brilliant service from Pabitra and excellent food.

I don't know if the management's changed but this place has gone downhill. Or more like off a cliff edge. 6 of us came, 3 orders were missing things as they didn't have them and we weren't told. The food was dry and unpleasant. And they tried to bill for things that weren't there. Bad service, incompetent staff, and management.

It wasn’t good. One staff was terribly rude and wanted us to order with only being here less than 10 minutes. She bad bad attitude and wasn’t feeling her mood

Great food, slow service. We took our grandchildren, one of whom loves TGI. Our mains appeared on the kitchen counter but our overworked waitress couldn't get to it for a couple of minutes. Disappointing that we had this experience with the grandchildren in tow.

We went for a fun birthday meal for my 6yo son. He had a lovely time and so did we! Plenty of food the children would eat on the menu. Birthday balloon and birthday cake with sparkler!

My son wanted to try this place for the spicy chicken burger. What he received was a burger with 3 tiny spicy piece of chicken placed on top of the burger. I had a vegan burger & asked for it plan with loaded cheese &...

We visited here for lunch and were warmly welcomed by our friendly waitress Sascha! She informed us of the summer offer where kids eat free with a main meal that we would be able to use. She was the only waitress serving around thirteen tables and still managed to provide the best of service! A great experience!

Food was so tasty and fresh. Staff were so friendly and could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble, but was given enough space to enjoy our meal. Will definitely be back again soon.
