This was my first experience of Portuguese cuisine. I was lucky enough to be advised to try this by a Portuguese person, I mean that in itself is a high enough compliment for this restaurant. The cod cakes were my favourite starter, but the chicken and prawn dishes were also delicious. The Medium spiced Piri Piri full chicken, wow juicy chicken with the most delicious wood smoked flavour. As for the Bacalhau Assado (grilled cod) it was cooked to perfection, one of the nicest fish dishes I have ever eaten. The desserts were delicious, the Portuguese tart was my favourite, but the others were soo good. Authentic Portuguese beer helped wash down the food, the service was fantastic, it felt like a proper family restaurant. I looked at the other seafood dishes coming out they all looked delicious. I don't usually write a long review like this, but people need to know about this hidden gem truly authentic Portuguese food at its, best. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon of delicious food and drink, I will return again soon.

A terrible place. There was no service whatsoever had to ask for things like a beggar. Food was bland no taste at all. Would not recommend. Over priced and nothing to show for it.

Been here twice in the last month and have to keep going back this place is a real authentic Portuguese peri peri food place the service and always amazing great friendly staff And food is always super fresh We have had the following Chicken liver Chicken platter full chicken Lobster platter Breads Chips Rice And lots of Sagres This place is a must if you have not been and believe me you will not be disappointed Make a booking before attending as this place does get busy See you in a few more weeks 🇵🇹

This is the real deal. Move over Nando’s. This Portuguese restaurant is authentic. Simple food cooked fresh and really well. Fantastic value for money. Both take away and sit down. Even serve super bock on draught. The service was fantastic. We had only just come back from Portugal and this restaurant sits in line with best we had there.

Amazing authentic Portuguese food

After an hour and a half of waiting for a francesinha, they informed us that it was no longer available. We exchanged it for other dishes. And after two hours, of the four dishes ordered, only three were made. We had to share... A bit of disorganization. One star because the food was reasonable and they offered desserts and coffees.

I often go to this restaurant many times, but this time around I had a very terrible experience. First of all, the elderly lady who serves is always in a bad mood and has no manners to speak to the customers, this didn't just happen now but it's whenever I go to the restaurant. I wonder why she even works there if she never bothers to respect the customers. Secondly, I always order the grilled codfish and being Portuguese, I know this dish very well. The dish was poorly made and it wasn't even 500g as specified in the menu. It contained raw onions and it did not have the olive oil and garlic garnish at the top or the fried onions. Every time I order this dish, it's always well made, however, this time around it was absolutely terrible and the portion did not justify the price at all. Will not be visiting the place any time so soon.

Been eating here for a while Recently came to eat here new owners now and prices have gone up with a new menu and food portion gone substantially small It’s a shame as do enjoy the food it will have to be once a month now

Our first time in the restaurant on mother's day. The food and service was excellent. The portions are over generous so be careful otherwise you won't be able to tuck everything in. We definitely recommend and will be booking a table in a near future. Thanks to O Ribatejo for the amazing family meal!

Lovely restaurant cannot fault it .staff are wonderful Only drawback is since the previous owners have sold the business and new owners have come in Prices have gone up on the new menu . and the famous chicken has gone tremendous small . Before you would get juicy peices now it’s tiny and less meat on it . This always happens when you get new owners and the menu changes.Should have really stuck with the old menu this is what the shop is famous for

We fancied something different for a Friday evening, so did an online search for Portuguese restaurants in Leicester and this one came up. Didn't know what to expect, but it was great! The restaurant goes back quite a way, so it's much more spacious than it looks from the street. It's simply furnished, don't expect candlelit dining. We were welcomed by the very friendly Portuguese staff on arrival and shown to our table. Can thoroughly recommend the Rissóis de camarão (Prawn Pastries) to start, followed by Piri Piri Chicken and Carne de Porco à Alentejana (Pork with Clams) as mains. With a large jug of wine between us, we had a great evening and will definitely return. The only slight problem (if you're driving) is car parking, but allow a little time to find an on-street space and you'll be fine!

Came here with friends and the service was great and a very spacious interior whish was deceiving from outside. Tried the prawns and chicken with chips and must say that this was soooo nice! The flavors used were amazing and already looking forward to my next visit.

Everything was very lovely cooked and the staff were so friendly. Me and my partner had Barbecue chicken with chips and rice ( frango de churrasco com batatas fritas e arroz) and salad as a side. For desert we had pudding caramel and biscuit cake (pudim de ovos e bolo de bolacha). It was like being back in Portugal. We want to come back soon 😊

Delicious food, always go for the grilled chicken. Never disappoints. One thing they can improve is the bifana, it is unfortunately usually a bit dry. Plus side is everything else, including fresh chips!

After hearing lots of good things I gave this place a go and WOW was I impressed. Ordered the garlic prawns and peri peri chicken...the most amazing flavours and even the home made chips were mind blowing. I now understand why there is so much hype about this place...already planning our next visit. Dont think twice...just go!

Ordered the chicken wings and all i can say is they were the best iv had in years, same with the chips absolute beautiful. Prawns were a bit rubbery but still ok. Will defo visit again when next in Leicester..

Been here many times. Authentic and lovely Portuguese dishes. You you prefer less comossion, then, avoid weekends as its gets too busy. And you will not be rushed.

First time visit. Very nice. Felt as if dining abroad.. food was faultless. I had a whole chicken, with rice and chips. The chicken came marinated in pieces, not dry at all. Friendly kind staff, and the price was right. £20.50 for my main and my 0% beer. I'll be returning.

The staff were extremely nice and friendly. They really made it a great visit. The restaurant is also very clean, there's also a TV so you can watch football matches here too. We started with bread and sardine pate, a starter we normally have in Portugal, although the bread was a bit soft, would have preferred ciabatta. For the main meal we shared the Frango no Churrasco, a full chicken. It was a lot of food, more than enough for two people. I would recommend 3 to 4 people share the full chicken. It came with chips, a side of rice and carrots. The chicken has a nice flavour but I don't feel it was marinated enough as the flavour didn't reach the middle of the chicken. The others in the party ordered the Bife Sirloin. It was very soft and cooked perfectly. It came with a fried egg, chips, rice and carrot also. For dessert we had the caramel pudding and were were served two big helpings. They are very generous with their portions. The dessert is homemade and not very sweet. The best Portuguese restaurant in Leicester, would definitely return.
