Number 8 Chinese in Basingstoke and Deane

Went here with high hopes, was very disappointed. It actually seemed like someone got fresh food in at home at gave a valuable effort at cooking a Chinese without all the stuff that makes it a Chinese takeaway. It was effectively a tribute act to a Chinese. The fried rice was absolutely pathetic, no flavouring, boiled and fried if at all for 30 seconds. Same as the chow mein. Freshly cooked in their defence but this is NOT a real Chinese takeaway.

Terrible takeaway. Thai green chicken mushroom rice. The rice smelt disgusting, and the curry was just poor tasting not vey spicy just bland. Ate a few mouthful’s and put it in the bin. Will never order again from them.

I went here with some friends in the evening to grab some quick food, i sat and waited in the shop to take it away, whilst i was waiting i was taken back with how quick the food was, only to find out when i got home that no wonder the food took such little time to cook, it was cold and i discovered dead maggots in the curry i ordered. I’m presuming my food was left for days on end and then given to me. When i went back to the shop and showed them, the lady who runs it and her husband where obnoxiously rude and started shouting and swearing at me to get out their shop and that i was “ lying” even though i brought the curry back with me from home to show them. Disgusting customer service and food, this place needs shutting down. And to the lady who runs this vile shop, DO BETTER!

Always order Chinese from here as its always good quality, good value and fast delivery. Don't think we've ever had issues.

It is disappointing that No 8 charges more for phone orders than they do for ordering on the website. I like to customise some of my food when ordering - which I could not do online. I phoned and asked to customise, so they said I could not have the web price! This was annoying but not as annoying as it was when we discovered items missing from the order! When I phoned back to complain they said it was my fault and said they could only send more items out if I paid another delivery charge. The food was quite nice, but the customer service is terrible! I would order again, but still not happy with their pricing, so only going to order if desperate. They have lost a customer!

Really disappointing service tonight! Items were missing - wouldn’t mind but it was rice? No offer to drop it off (which tells me they knew it was missing) Just a refund offered. I used them a few times before, but won’t be again!
