Stopped off on our beach walk for a snack and coffee. Both very good and will call again. Coffee was a good standard. We had a Fruit scone and toasted tea cake.

We came here for a late breakfast on the recommendation of our Guest House hosts - and it did not disappoint. Great location, pleasant owner we enjoyed chatting to . . . and some of the best bacon rolls we have had anywhere! These kept us going for the rest of the day!

The cafe ‘hatch’ is accessible up a narrow slope from both ends which makes it difficult to queue and come away when you have bought something. The hatch is only small and the other kiosk ( despite it being a lovely day) was closed. I wanted to buy something but did not, so lost business.for the cafe.

A shame really but shambolic service, waited 45mins for a simple toasted tea cake. Understand restrictions in place but no organisation in place

We'd been walking around Whitby and were in need This filled the gap and gave us views out over the beach to the sea whilst we relaxed.

Visited Whitby with my daughter (12) and we were looking for a vegan friendly place to eat. We visited both days we were there and lady serving was so helpful and kind and said she normally has more vegan options but was making some cakes and hoped to have vegan cheese the next day too. However, we were more than happy with their lovely jacket potato with generous side salad; over looking the beach with a big cup of Yorkshire tea and a vegan magnum for pud. The following day we had the same lovely jacket potato but with loads of vegan cheese too followed by a homemade vegan red velvet and oreo cupcake....absolutely delicious! Great service, great prices, great location and lovely to be treated with such kindness. Thankyou North Beach Cafe, we will be back :)

We were pleasantly surprised by this beach side cafe. The service we had from a very nice, friendly woman was great and the home made Yorkshire tea bread was amazing! A lovely experience, thank you.

What a gem of a place and the quality of service was fantastic. I had green tea (with fresh lemon) and a scrummy piece of Victoria sponge with cream and fresh strawberries. I didn’t have enough change on me but the lady who served me was so kind and let me pay her what I had! Not only that, but the gentleman, who also baked the gorgeous cake, went out of his way to acknowledge my dog and gave her some doggy biscuits too. Thank you so much. I might have to visit again tomorrow before I head off for the drive home....I promise to bring enough money next time! Xx

Had a lovely walk along the and thought I would try somewhere different. I am so glad I did! Fresh bean coffee and proper home food and generous Yorkshire potions. The cafe is very clean and staff are fully PPEd up. I was made to feel like a long lost friend. Many people when they come to Whitby have certain traditions- this place is now my new tradition to visit. It's a hidden gem

I often take my dog for a walk along the seafront and now that this gorgeous little cafe and the girls are back at work it’s even more enjoyable. Always nice to stop and have a coffee, chat with a friendly face and the dog gets a biscuit. Can’t believe how well adapted they are to this whole new version of the workd. All customers are offered hand sanitiser and a beaming smile on arrival and if you’re stopping for food then you wont be disappointed!! All freshly prepared on site and so yummy. Also perfect for when my sister is up as she is vegan so they cater for my whole family including the dog. Glad to see you all back!!

Had a lovely walk on Whitby Beach recently, and noticed that the North Beach cafe was getting ready to reopen for the season. It is a family-run business, and the girls were hard at work, as always. Am so looking forward to a gorgeous hot chocolate and a bacon butty, on a crisp fresh morning! Have visited this cafe a few times over the summer, and can't wait to eat some more of their home-made cakes with a nice cuppa, looking out to sea. The views are amazing, especially from the roof terrace, which is a fabulous sun trap! The staff are so warm and friendly, and really go out of their way to help you, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. It will be lovely to catch up with them all again soon.

My hungry family and I were going to search for a late lunch before making the long climb down to the beach (there is a lift but you have to pay) but then saw the advertisment for this cafe at the top. It stated that panini were served. There was no clear warning that the cafe was cash only. When we arrived we discoverd no panini on the menu, in fact nothing that was easy to take on to the beach. We then discoverd that it did not take cards. No need for this given that I had plenty of mobile phone signal. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. I offerred to do the steep climb back up to get cash to make up the shortfall while my very hungry family ate their lunch. The member of staff could not be bothered to give me good directions to a cash machine so the search took a long time. When I did finally eat my food it was wasn't very nice at all. My mother hadn't enjoyed hers at all either as there was very limited choice what she wanted was not available, despite being advertised at the top. Not impressed at all.

This great little Cafe is run by a mother daughter and their Argentinian friend. My wife and I have been visiting Whitby for years. The walk to the cafe is the highlight of our morning. The owners have time no matter how busy to have a chat. The food is good and the bacon rolls are second to none. There is even vegan choices. The view is to die for and coming here for a coffee is second to none you feel like a member of the family. These girls or I should say ladies welcome all including your four legged friends. We lost our dog a week before our holiday and we were a bit lost but the ladies helped with that with their wisdom and quick wit. We will see you again next year and thank you for being you

We just love visiting Whitby. We had a great day crabbing with the family and we had a wonderful day walking along the beach. Could not believe what a warm day it was. We caught 3 crabs and collected driftwood. Stopped for a delicious hot chocolate special again!!! And a salted caramel cookie, perfect to end the day off!! Look forward to visiting again at Easter. Great stopping place always recommending to friends, friendly staff and reasonably priced!!!!

Out for a day with the family and decided to stop at this café for a drink and a bite to eat. What a little jem! Everything you would want in a beach side café. Well prepared food, friendly staff and it was clean! a big plus for a fussy person! Would highly recommend the filled rolls. The coronation chicken was to die for! Spent a lovely hour looking out to sea. Will definitely seek it out again next year.

Headed to Whitby for our annual get together and decided to stop at the beach cafe for lunch instead of soggy sandwiches and warm drinks we would have made ourselves.

I visited North Beach Cafe in Whitby at the weekend, I found it very clean, the staff bent over backwards and they couldn't do enough to help nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good and value for money. I would recommend to anyone who visits Whitby and would certainly go back.

The first cafe you find when walking from Sandsend to Whitby if your doing the round trip good venue for half way refreshments. Tea was good but wouldn't recommend the food we had scone, jam and cream the menu said strawberries but they were non existent, the scones stale and the cream of the squirty variety not enjoyable.

Very clean, plenty of choice, hot and cold drinks, ices, cakes and biscuits, hot and cold snacks, crisps etc - tables, benches and sun brollies outside, water for doggies (and one free doggie biscuit for your 4 legged friend from a jar on the counter!) nice little cafe, we visited it several times after a long walk along the prom.

Nice food and one really helpful assistant - but the other (manageress I think) was a 'computer says no' person who just wanted to make things difficult. Shame because it's a great little café and a super spot. Hope she cheers up soon!

I don’tknow if this place is any good. After 15 minutes waiting at the bar, only 1 person got served - by the 2 staff. The 1 ‘serving’ then left 6 of us waiting and went outside to wipe down tables. Rude, surly, we up and left.

I came here during each visit from Canada and we were just getting ready to return again. I am just shocked to find out that they have closed permanently and I can only live with my memories. I wanted to bring my wife there for what I hoped would be another incredible weekend. I can only hope the very best for the family and say thanks for all of the memories and the fantastic bar towels that I still have after 20 years Thank you. Muchas gracias. Hvala, arrigoto, Merci,

We had a nice English breakfast for the start of our walk. Not the best ever perhaps, but enjoyable and open at 7:30. Prices are reasonable, but cash only

We had the unfortunate "luck" of spending a night at this place. Got a "suite" under the creaky flooring of the pub with noise-channelling ventilation ducts overhead, a substandard kitchen with no cupboards and wobbly table, a toilet with no ventilation, exposed pipes and disjointed faucet and a door with no handle in sight... All this came with a delayed check-in and service that leaves much to hope for. While the rooms above the pub may make for a better night's sleep, there is little hope that could improve this establishment's culture of hospitality.

What’s really interesting about this cafe is that it’s part of the now closed second funicular tram at the top. Loved the Yorkshire owner of the cafe ☕️. Great bacon rolls before we checked into The Grand next door 🚪 (which we liked ❤️ too)
