Really tasty food but small portions and not value for money. We got the set menu, which was around £18 for a starter , main , rice or naan, and coffee. The portion size of the curry and also the rice was small. I would expect bigger portions at an Indian restaurant. I am unlikely to return, sadly, due to the price, but I did enjoy the food.

Great restaurant. Staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. Menu is really good - all the classics of an Indian restaurant but with interesting special dishes too. Food is all cooked fresh to order and perfectly served. Will always return and would highly recommend.

Positive: friendly staff Negative: my dish had way too much sugar in it. Same as the mint sauce, very sickly. To me that is a sign of compensating for low quality food. The number of veggie dishes is very low. Other places offer a veggie option for every dish. Not this place. But, the worst: I spent the night on the toilet as something didn’t agree with me. That is so very rare for me and definitely down to the food. Not returning.

Not great unfortunately, dry stringy chicken and fairly flavourless, greasy Papadam’s that taste of dirty old cooking oil. Bland sauces that have no depth of flavour.

We ordered off Deliveroo, and the food was terrible. It cost £60 for 2 of us, including delivery... £5.50 for a small naan. £1.25 for one poppadom. We don't mind paying this for decent food, but this just felt like a rip-off.. The chutneys tasted watered down, and it was very runny. The prawn balti was bland and enible.. more oil than anything else, and it was so greasy and split.. not much substance. The lamb shanks also tasted bland. It's definitely not worth the cost. The photo was of prawn balti that was left behind in the container. The rest was ditched..

There is nothing negative to say about Nizam. We have been dining here for 17 years since we first moved to the area from London. The food is wonderful. The use of fresh spices is apparent in every dish. The staff honestly could not be nicer or more welcoming. They just can't do enough to make our dining experience more pleasant. I have no hesitation in recommending Nizam as a wonderful place to dine.

We have eaten out a lot recently with visitors from the USA and this was the best meal by far. The only disappointments was the onion bhaji, which were heavier and a bit claggy, they were tasty, but not as light as they used to be. The vegetabl curry with the Biriani was spicier than before and I could not eat it. This will however remain our favourite Indian restaurant.

Decided to try this restaurant as we have never been. Pricelist indicated that this place is slightly on the pricier side. If it reflects in the quality, we decided we would not mind as it was our wedding anniversary. But sadly, it didn't live up to the expectations. My husband's portion contained 4-5 little pieces of chicken. I ordered the lamb shank, which hasn't been cooked for long enough for the meat to fall off the bone. I also found that there was too much oil swimming in the plates. Waiter was polite, kind and attentive. Unfortunetly, he was sneezing a lot while making non-alcoholic shakes....

The food was so sparse for a £12 curry u barely get a chicken breast (6 diced pieces) rice is extortionate £5/6 and not great. And then for two people eating and leaving hungry was £70!!!! 1/5 as such a mediocre meal. Was fun you take your own beer. Nice food but way overpriced if was £40 I’d not of written this but felt cheated and hungry after Onion bhaji £5.25. Two decent sized bhajis but tasteless and oily 4x poppadom £5 rip off how is this the cost! Chutney £2.50. We’d been offered this before the menus so our mistake but for £7.50 nothing special A masala and specialty curry £13.50 each and if I said there was one chicken breast between the two curries that would be generous. Nice taste just so not enough chicken to warrant the £13.50 each. 2 rice £11.50 again nice but tiny amounts A peshwari nan £5.75 tasteless and very undercooked Bombay potato £7.25 again 2 spuds in oil and spice must cost 70p to make in their kitchens and small small small again. 10% on the bill for little to no service and I’m lost as it appears you pay a premium to pour your own drinks of 25% increase in food costs. Not for me or people I’ve spoken too

We used to go to the Nizam frequently but then moved out of the area. Now moved back but other good restaurants have sprung up around the patch. We recently heard that you can now take your own alcoholic drink in, always popular since it usually makes the visit somewhat more affordable. It was a Friday, the restaurant became full hence we had a fair wait for our main meal. However, the prices were definitely on the high side, the bill came to £64 which was for 5 poppadoms and pickles, two standard curries, 2 rice, 1 onion bahjis and one Nan. Not even a soft drink. It seemed that most things were around £2/£3 more than at other local curry restaurants. If you don’t mind paying that, the curry was good but not remarkable and for that bill we would normally have one or two soft drinks and a couple of Cobras or Magners for sure.

When we asked for the cutlery to be replaced for our main course he didn’t seem happy. This is a restaurant why would you be expected to keep the cutlery. We asked for coffee. One coffee and sugar arrived. So I said we had ordered 2 the waiter showed me his hands and said you see I only have 2 hands and therefore can only carry 2 items.. definitely would never return. The food was fairly tasty though it could do with perhaps a bit more seasoning and spice. I do think it's a bit too overpriced compared to the competition. I don't mind paying more if the food tastes that much better but in this case I don't think it did. I could get the same meal (Lamb Dhansak and Chicken Biriyani) for -£11 less elsewhere. Unfortunately there was a lot of leakage of the abundance of oil that was in the lamb dhansak which shouldn't be happening in this day and age. For the price paid, the packaging is quite antiquated compared to some of the competition.

I would have rated it below one star if I had a choice. The food was overpriced and awful. If someone has no taste buds, then they would enjoy your food. The okra vegetable I ordered was uncooked. After serving the food, nobody came to check whether everything was okay. The customer service was poor. I asked the manager if I could provide him with some feedback, and he referred me online. I didn't want to provide negative feedback online, but I had no choice. A piece of advice to the chef, please check the food (salt, spices, cooked/undercooked) before sending it out from the kitchen. Even the spices were undercooked, and I could taste the raw smell of spices. I think I would never go back or would recommend the food to anyone.

I have also sat in the restaurant multiple times and always visit when I’m back home from Yorkshire. The only thing I will say is that normally the vindaloo is perfectly spiced for me and really gives me a challenge while remaining tasty. However on this one occasion last night it wasn’t really spicy at all for a vindaloo, still incredibly tasty. When looking at the menu we weren't completely sure what was either vegan friendly as is, or could be made so by the chef. We decided to pop down and order in person and very glad that we did, as the manager was super helpful. It turned out most of the vegetarian dishes were either already vegan, or could easily be made so. We ordered mainly sides plus one main, and I have to say everything was delicious (aubergine, chana, okra, dahl, saag aloo and more) At first I thought it looked a bit on the expensive side but actually it worked out very reasonable for 4 people, I think he threw in a couple of things for free as we ordered quite a lot. Crikey that was a testing year or two !! eating exclusively home made due to the wretched pandemic with takeaway Tuesday introduced to break it up.. im pleased to be able to give a formal review, as the regular reviews I've been giving my wife have been rather a nuisance to her. Particularly when the best review of the week and my gold star award went to Tuesday's takeaway fish and chips for 49 out of the 52 weeks of 2021. Would have been a clean sweep if it wasn't for my birthday chinese, Christmas bloody dinner & of course the night when bloody BT had cut off the landline so we couldn't place the bloody fish and chip order. Sorry to swear but it was tense. Neighbour Tom's was also down and he hadn't charged his Nokia, so we made do with a frozen meal. Anyway when my friend suggest Nizam for curry, I made a hilarious joke about eating in a japanese car garage, then swiftly agreed and booked a table for 4ppl at 7pm. The dovetail was on as we ordered a chicken Jalfrezi balti, & Lamb Jalfrezi balti, with a plan to swap a few chunks. Waiter was pleasant but very gun ho and clearly wasn't paying attention. Chicken jalfrezi balti sounded like 2 curries blended into one, and I thought how fitting to be having a Hybrid curry in this of all places.. i woke up at midnight after the curry sweating as I missed the opportunity to lean over the table and say "gents, I didn't know Nissan did hybrids!!" Thoroughly reasonable wait for food however they bought a chicken jalfrezi and a separate lamb balti. He essentially struck off one part of the hybrid and as it turns out, Nizam actually doesn't do hybrids. We raised the issue and the polite waiting staff grabbed a spanner and slid under the table facing the ceiling on some kind of wheely trolley, within moments the curry had changed to the hybrid we ordered. (At least that's how I assume it went down I was in the toilet and came back to the correct curry). A strong curry and decent accompaniments. 8/10 for flavour. The bill came with some chocolate mints which stated "after curry mint" which was very literal and right up my street. Was pleased at that point to have not ordered me old faithful steak and chips, as i would have felt a fraud eating that choco treat. The troop split the bill which came to a hefty £34 each, given its BYO drinks that should have sent an alarm bell ringing but we forgot to check the receipt. Perhaps these guys and mechanics aren't that different after all.

Initially charged full sit-down restaurant prices for takeaway, staff were very pleasant and corrected the mistake when I returned and queried the total. Atmosphere coming from the restaurant was good and lively. Unfortunately the 2 main dishes I ordered were mixed up, i.e., a lamb vindaloo and chicken phall turned out to be a lamb phall and chicken vindaloo. The keema naan had virtually no lamb in it at all. The chicken was slightly overcooked but the lamb was as tough as old boots. The mixed starter of chicken tikka, a vegetable samosa and an onion bhaji was average. In short, nice restaurant setting, nice people, but below average food and attention to detail. Sadly, yet another poor takeaway in Haywards Heath.

Awful curry house! The staff are rude, the food was cold, well over priced and the menu is inaccurate. In some of the dishes it shows clearly that the dish does not contain nuts, but when reading the menu options, to my astonishment they do contain nuts. Reported to food standards. Avoid if you suffer with allergies.

Best Curry spot in Burgess Hill, amazing service and delivery times, always piping hot - been eating here since we moved in and never had a bad curry, always full of flavour and worth working your way through the menu - thoroughly recommend!

I just want to write a review. Thank you Wild Mango for accommodating our order which was accidentally ordered to a different a Wild Mango based in Portsmouth!! My other half ordered via the app but didn't realise he ordered to the one based in Portsmouth. When I arrived to pick up the order, the staff at the Burgess Hill Wild Mango were a little confused and there was no order under my name. We then discovered that on my order that I showed them was actually in fact for a curry house in Portsmouth that goes by the same name (I guess an easy mistake to happen) Between the Burgess Hill curry House and the Portsmouth curry House we agreed that Wild Mango in Burgess Hill would re order and cook fresh for us to take home. Thank you for helping us on this genuine mistake and for us to have or order. It was an amazing curry and we would recommend Wild Mango (Burgess Hill!!) to anyone who likes a delicious Curry!!

Never again!!! Do not order here. We ordered a paneer tikka masala to split between two people and there was a massive tomato taking up half the box so it wasn’t a real portion for £9.95. Also don’t order a tikka masala expecting it to be sweet!

The king prawns were more like regular prawns and there were very few considering the cost of the dish. The prawns were also over cooked unfortunately, so they were very tough and dry. The onion bhaji’s, naan and rice were fine.
