Tasty - stopped in to grab a takeaway sausage roll and iced bun. Sausage roll was excellent and will be returning! Coffee was also good. Easy free car parking outside.

We’ve been here twice so far and absolutely love the food here, the food is really well priced as well as being cooked to perfection. The staff seem lovely and haven’t had any issues, will be going back for at least one more time before the end of our holiday!

Young lady who starts serving me was lovely, the older lady that fulfilled my order not so much. Ruined my breakfast roll by arbitrarily breaking the yolk on the egg, without asking, so the yolk spilt all on the counter, then on the bag before having a chance to eat it! Bacon wasn't cooked long enough, sausage only in half the roll. Will not be returning

This is for the new Niles cafe at carclaze, the wait staff are mainly young girls, the service is atrocious they are so grumpy and rude not a smile or a good morning from anyone who be been up several times since it opened always the same, the staff in the bakery’s are usually so polite and friendly. Think the carclaze staff need a lesson in manners

Service could not have been friendlier and I was called 'sweetheart' and 'my darling' by the very pleasant server within five minutes of arriving. This made my day after the abysmal service we'd just had at the Boathouse in Charlestown, just down the road, (where we left after an hour without getting our food). Food and drinks at Nile's arrived quickly and were of an excellent standard. We also bought rolls and pasties to take away and those two were very good indeed. Highly recommended. Visited at 11.30am on Sunday 3 March 2024.

I go here quiet frequently ,some times the food is fine but today my Full English was delicious. Piping hot all the way through and my drink was nice and hot too. Not so busy as normal so the staff were a bit more relaxed. Toilet nice and clean which is always a bonus. All in all a very nice experience. Thank you ladies. ..

Have been a regular visitor to this lovely cafe for almost ten years - always being sure of a warm welcome and great, fairly-priced food. Staff always very friendly and hugely tolerant of the occasional unnecessarily abusive customer - even those who seem blind to their ‘lovely’ children depositing more food on the floor than they do in their mouths!

My OH got pasties to go, brought them 269 miles up to the Midlands (still warm when they arrived!) and, after a night in the fridge, reheated them at 180c for 30 mins. They were without doubt, they BEST pasties I have ever tasted! He bought the last 5 traditional pasties in the shop (with a queue behind him) so our family were all very appreciative and are looking forward to being able to visit in person next time!

Review for Carclaze shop/cafe, stopped here to buy pasties, very helpful young lady who served us with vegetarian/vegan pasties to take home, which were delicious and full of filling. Didn't stop in cafe so cannot comment but very very busy and noisy, handy for those at the Premier Inn next door with a view across the landscape.

To be clear, this is a review for the Carclaze Niles cafe Well! That was disappointing.My self and a friend pulled in to the new Nile’s Bakery to check it out.Nice lay out,beautiful views but service not so friendly as we are used to in other Nile’s Bakeries in St Austell.The sign outside stated that they are open until 4.30 we arrived at 4.05 to have a nice cup of tea and cake and were told they had stopped serving hot food,so explained that we just wanted tea and cake,No was the reply.So I just purchased a pasty,some scones and two cakes and then was told I could have two take-away hot drinks but would have to take them out.So we went elsewhere with our cakes and bought tea there.No apologies from any staff when I pointed out that the sign on the door said open until 4.30.

Great service and friendly staff. Food was served quickly and hot. Good selection on the menu for a small cafe. Great selection of bread and cakes to take away for later. It's a must visit place when we return again on holiday Thank You

We like to think we know a good pasty. I even make my own. We had 2 large steak pasties as takeaways from Niles and they are now our #1 favourites! The pastry is so light and flaky, not hard and cardboardy like many. Both were stuffed with steak, succulent, well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. And they really were large too!

Stopped here to pick up some Cornish pasties and we weren’t disappointed! The steak pasties came in two sizes- a medium was big enough for us- lovely taste and grey quality meat. We also bought a cheese pasty which was really tasty. They also offered baps which you could have made to order, breakfasts and a large selection of delicious looking sweet treats. Will hopefully get time to call again before going home!

One of our favorites when we come to Cornwall. We haven’t been on holiday for a few yrs and they remembered us and what we liked to eat for breakfast! This cafe is busy all the time. Take away or eat in. We pass by two of the other locations to come to this one. They are still great, but this one is our favorite. Jam doughnuts are my fav; the hubby likes his bacon and egg bap; but my Gran loves their saffron buns. Love their pasties. We bought them several times to warm up for tea. Don’t know about the past two reviewers, but things are definitely different now at every pub / cafe / restaurant - give people a break and wish them a good rest of their day. I was thoroughly impressed they knew our favs from over two yrs ago. We will be back next holiday.

We have been traveling to Cornwall annually since 2016 (missed 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid) and this Niles is always a must stop for Breakfast and take-away Pasties. The fresh-baked items and made to order Breakfast's are always wonderful. Just as wonderful is the staff. They are always smiling, attentive and courteous. They also always have day-trip suggestions for our group of four Americans. Don't miss this experience if you are vacationing to Cornwall.

Popped in yesterday for a bite to eat , wish we never bothered - staff were so very rude , to the point if we hadn’t of paid we would of left ! Over priced ! Sandwich and coffee - Soggy sausage roll , and attitude was never worth it ! Cheer up ! If you don’t like your job - get another …

There's a reason this place is busy all day. Pasties are class and their bacon bite is dangerously good. Coffee isn't bad either. Highly recommended !

Went for a full English breakfast that was advertised on a massive board for £12,for two only to find its really £17.10 when you add coffee or tea. Not impressed.

Wanted to try Niles Bakery Cornish pasties (cos as you do in Cornwall). Found the small bakery near the Tesco Superstore (not the big one with it's own parking and eat in s.ection) Staff were super friendly, pasties were quite big and tasty and cheap....

When in the area we always get our pasties from one of their shops or this cafe. They have the pastry and fillings that we love.

Our party of four decided that cakes must be purchased for consumption with afternoon coffee so a visit was required. Two Danish pastries, rocky road cake and chocolate brownie were obtained. We agreed the cakes were tasty and fresh. Found the staff smiley and efficient...

Our 1st visit this year. Lovely breakfast. Staff wearing visors were sanitizing thier hands and then putting visors on holding the front of the visor and touching the in side rather than the straps and then handling top of latte cups and plates. I watched...

I went in for breakfast on my way to a business meeting and the lady who served me was very polite and helpful. I took a seat and my “average” quality breakfast arrived after a few minutes, nothing to get excited about to be honest....

Whilst staying in the area we called in for breakfast on the 17th. All I can say is a great breakfast especially the 2 for £11 deal. We called again on the 18th Dec for another as we loved it so much.Great little find with a warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff are great and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had an arduous drive one wet dark night from Taunton down to Cornwall. We were Glad to stop off here for refreshments and a lovely authentic pasy and saffron buns with tea. Very popular and handy for passing travellers.

If your heading to or onward from St Austell grab a bacon sarnie here for the journey. Great value and enough to keep hunger a bay.

We went in as a party of 4, everything was clean and tidy the staff was friendly and helpful we ordered and the food arrived quickly when it arrived it was good food, and plenty enough of it, a nice family lunch at a reasonable price, can't fault the place and would recommend to others.

Cornish pasty not great. Ordered a steak one but it only had 3 bits of steak in it that looked dry and old. Had almost finished eating before our coffee arrived and even then, I had to go up to counter and ask for milk, twice in fact because they hadn't given me enough. For four of us, cost was almost £25. Could've got a full meal for that price next door at KFC. Won't be visiting Niles again.

Really enjoyed food and drinks here. I had a toasted tea cake which was really lovely and a Shmooo milkshake. My guest had a jacket potato which she said was really nice. My guest drinks black tea so when her tea came out she explained she didn’t need milk as she has her tea black. The waitress said ‘would you like me to add more hot water to your cup then’ - this was great. The girls worked hard cleaning the cafe when customers left and seemed to have good team work. The only thing that let them down was the pepper shakers that were full to the top of pepper but it was so compact it wouldn’t shake out. We tried to wipe the holes but was very sticky and it didn’t move any of the pepper in the holes to allow it to flow.

We stopped here several times during our stay in Cornwall for a light lunch. Large car park, clean tables, good service and the food was fresh.

All day breakfast is awesome. Does just what it says on the tin. Good food at reasonable prices. A bewildering array of pasties but also rolls and cakes. Coffee etc available eat in or takeaway. Friendly staff.

Called as we arrived I St Austell for a holiday and had been recommended to us. On entering at approximately 1pm place looked untidy tables uncleared, floor a disgrace, staff aprons very dirty. Ordered food reluctantly hubbies pasty very nice my toastie average. On watching staff make sandwiches putting salad in with their hands just needed to leave. Staff need basic hygiene training and customer relationship.

I went there a couple of days ago with my friend and it was amazing . The staff were lovely and food was the best I have tasted you should definitely go there! All of them were smiley and happy I’m definitely going there a lot now. It was all clean and everything was fresh. I had a breakfast and a cake and they were just stunning . I recommend it.

Rude, disinterested, sighing staff, every thing is an issue. Been there twice in a week apart, exactly the same service. Owning a business my self I would bit some secret customers and start sacking people!

We visit Cornwall annually. We stay in Mevagissey and Portmellon. Typically, when we start our day trips through St Austell, we stop at this Niles bakery. The Scones, Saffron Buns, real cream pastries and Brown Roll Breakfast Sandwiches are delicious, as is the tea. This should be a must stop for all travelers looking for an excellent, and reasonably-priced, Breakfast.

If I wanted cold greasy breakfasts I would have been extremely happy but to pay for this disgusting food I wasn't happy

bought pasties for the family which were very good ,good mix of potato ,sweed, onion and beef. Very tasty if only they were HOT. We all ,being Cornish ,like our Hoggies hot and these were only luke warm. Shame really as otherwise good.

Have been here twice for breakfast after staying nearby, Very welcoming and hot freshly cooked full English,generous mugs of tea and very good bread. We bought pasties,saffron buns and bread rolls to take home,all excellent Apparently they have other outlets in Cornwall,if they are all as good as this one,well worth a visit

We had a cooked breakfast here after staying at the travelodge opposite. The food was great and made a poor stay at the travelodge more bearable. Very friendly staff and breakfast cooked freshly to order. Would definitely recommend.

We visited this cafe twice last week as we were staying nearby. We had a full English breakfast each for £11. Food was fresh and local and excellent value for money. We also bought a pasty for the journey home on Friday and it was probably the best pasty I have ever had!

Came here for the 1st time with my 2 children, I ordered us a sausage roll each and myself a latte, good value for money and plenty of places to choose to sit, staff are helpful and didn't take long for our food and my latte to arrive, good that you can takeaway as eat in plenty choice of food to eat and cakes, will be coming back here.

Had lunch here quite a few times and to be honest, I find it good value for money and the food is always plentiful and excellent, the staff are all very friendly and professional, this bakery/cafe is a very popular place for food wether eating in or taking away, if you're in the area, I would definitely recommend coming in for a coffee and a bite to eat, you won't be disappointed

Let’s start with a positive, the young little blonde lady who made the coffee was lovely and greeted me with a cheerful smile and a “hello what may I get you” and was a credit to customer service and how it should be done, if the establishment had more staff like her it would certainly help raise the standard of my review because the rest of the staff are surly and miserable and certainly need educating in customer service.

Absolutely shocking customer service in here!! No manners what so ever. I asked for a sausage and cheese bap the lady looked at me with a strange look on her face. The girl that brought our teas to us basically threw them on our table and walked off. I had half a cup of tea and was like where is the rest. The lady apologised. Think these girls need customer service skills. I will come back as I do enjoy the food here and cakes.

Wouldn't bother again...We drove here especially for a Cornish pasty and a drink as it was highly recommended. We ordered two meat pastys one large and one medium with dressing plus coffee and tea. This was £14.00 to eat in, paid up front, expensive but we thought must be premium food. Two luke warm pasties arrived, no dressing, just dumped on plates and put in front of us, waitress was polite but disappeared and didn't come back. I opened my large pasty to look at filling, which was about two tablespoons of mixed meat and vegetables. Both pastry and filling had a nice flavours, but mine was far too lean on the filling for the amount of pastry. I would have expected much better for the price which is more than we've paid in the City of London! Absolutely will not use this place again...

Food was good as usual, and arrived very quickly. My little boy always enjoys a pasty from you. We visit quite often however this is the first time I've needed to change my son's nappy whilst there. Big toilet suitable for disabled users however was very disappointed to find no baby changing facilities within it. This came as a surprise as there were high chairs in the cafe. I wasn't prepared to lie my son on the floor as it was filty so had to do a difficult change. Would rate higher if baby change facilities provided as this would put me off visiting with friends with babies.

Really great pies and pasties, take out or eat in. Plus extras like egg on toast etc. Free wifi. Welcoming and efficient service. Small car park so you may need to park in Tesco just up the road. Highly recommended!

The place was busy, to be fair. BUT!!..

Stopped in for a lite snack and coffee before going to Charlestown. Once we figured out the system of ordering, with the help of the staff, we placed our order at the counter and the ladies brought it to our table. The coffee was good and very hot the way I liked it. The wife and I had cinnamon squares that were very good with nice icing on top and plenty of raisins. I also had a sausage roll that was very good. Service was excellent and all the ladies who worked there were very friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this bakery again.

Friendly Staff and very helpful. Full English breakfast was lovely was even allowed to take dog in around the back of the café so that was a bonus.

Stopped here on last day of holiday for a quick breakfast before traveling home. Dealt well with non standard request, bacon and sausage baps were lovely no fatty bacon and sausage good quality. Wish we’d found this before!

This place was not clean. The floor was covered in crumbs and rubbish and the tables were greasy to touch. I had a cream tea and my mug had scum and tea stain from the previous user.

Perfect spot for a very hungry group! Car parking, outdoor seating, super friendly staff and amazing choice of food and drinks. Love the cakes! So good we had to pop in again on our journey home

Down here on holiday and drove past this bakery advertising breakfast. Thought we would try it and was not dissapointed with the food. So what a shame it was spoilt by the staff, not very welcoming and to sum it up in one word.... Miserable! Wont be hoing back

Finally stopped here to try the brekky. Two for £11 including toast was good value. Two bacon, hash brown, one sausage, one egg and beans. The sausage skin was very rubbery and the tea quite weak. Apart from that the meal was good and the staff very friendly. We also purchased some pastries and bread which we also enjoyed. Will definitely return.

Stopped here on 2 days running. Once for the all day breakfast which was excellent value for money. Next day for fresh filled rolls, again really good value. The staff are really friendly. Great little place.

What a little gem this bakery and cafe is. We had breakfast 2 sausages 2 rashers bacon 2 fried eggs never had better the quality of ingredients is very high and the staff are really great and they have the biggest donuts you have ever seen. Go on give it a try

Extremely friendly staff, who informed we can sit out the back with our dog. She provided fresh water for her without asking. Nice cuppa n latte. Scone, Belgium Bun n Rhubarb Crumble was scrumptious.

Finally decided to give the café a try after having cakes as a take out regularly. Ordered food at counter and the food arrived at the table fairly quickly. Sandwiches were very good but the drinks were not. Tea was quite weak and the coffee fairly cold. Unfortunately we found the café to be quite noisy and, so although we will buy cakes for take away from here in the future we will probably not use the café.

We stayed locally and were recommended to visit this cafe. It's on the way from St Blazey to St Austell. There are a dozen or more free parking spaces on the site and the cafe does filled rolls and baps, super free trade ground coffees, the very best Cornish pasties all to eat in or take away at very fair prices. It's a great local business with several branches and friendly staff. Their flat white coffee is the best I've ever tasted! We went back several times during our holiday because the quality and value were so good.

Popped in this afternoon for a good old cuppa tea and a cake with my friend. First pot came and they had given me decaffinated tea by mistake.Wouldn't have been a problem but very weak and no colour so took it back to the counter and politely explained. He came with another pot of ordinary tea. This was even worse. No taste or colour as much as I pushed tea bag around in the tea pot. Gave up and left the tea! Why would a cafe use sub standard tea bags? The cake was nice but spoilt by the tea.We had a decent cup of tea back at my house and I don’t pay the earth for tea bags. I will carry on going to the Tesco cafe across from them for a proppa cuppa in future.

We were looking for some where to have a cream tea on the last day of our honeymoon and stumbled on Niles cafe. Scones were delicious and fresh, teas was hot. Staff were nice and over all the place was clean and welcoming.

The plate was cold, bacon warm and rubbery, tea weak and not hot. The sausage was hot and there was free wifi but those are the only plusses.

Usually come to Niles for breakfast, the food is always lovely and so are the staff; very friendly, polite and helpful. Spacious eating area and good location. There is a variety to choose from as well. The only negative is the prices are a little too high for what you get.

The Nile cafe have a good selection of pasteries and hot food to choose from, plus plenty of seating both inside and out. The staff are very welcoming which is why it is a favourite with the locals.

A great little bakers come coffee shop, a bit on the expensive side when there's six to pay for, but very clean and very nice food

Food was good but disappointed to find that the offer was only valid for the full English breakfast (which included bacon and sausage) and did not include any vegetarian options... had no other choice but to order outside the offer as we do not eat meat but would have liked for the deal to be a bit more accommodating.
