Newnham Court Inn in Maidstone

I have been here many times, but this time brought some friends from Canada, one of whom is a very plain eater. There was plenty of choice for him, and the waiter, Kai, was super helpful. He was patient, made amendments with a smile and without complaint, and even arranged to have a side salad served as a starter (which is normal in Canada). The only thing that didn't go down well was the Apple Crumble. The topping was dry. Other than that, it was a successful visit.

Me and my partner went for a meal last night and it was a lovely experience, our waitress, Katie was very lovely and very quick to take our orders and was very reliable with check backs, Will definitely be back Soon.

Had lunch hear for our wedding anniversary on Monday. Food was fantastic, staff were lovely. chicken platter starter was really nice!! We will be back!!

Ordered from the lunch menu which i which allows you to add a starter or dessert for £3.50. Tasty fish and chips and my husband enjoyed the mixed grill, both great value for money. Pleasant staff, wheelchair friendly and plenty of parking

It’s been a long time since visiting here as the food was awful. However not sure what has changed but the food was lovely and the staff really friendly and helpful What ever you have done just keep doing it It’s worth a visit

Have dined in plenty of Greene King Pubs but this was by far the worst of them all. We arrived for 12pm Sunday lunch booking, the restaurant was dead but we were told we had been placed upstairs for our table of 3, myself, wife and 17th month old son (pram and toddler bits to carry to) when we asked to be relocated downstairs we were told we couldn’t due to them all being booked, we was there 45 minutes in total and still the downstairs area was empty, we were only there 45 minutes due to having an awful roast dinner, it was served 5 minutes after ordering so we should have known it was going to be bad - a cold roast dinner, broccoli we could not even put a knife through, roast potatoes looked like they had been saved from last weekend and beef so full of fat it was inedible. When the waitress checked in on us 20 minutes after receiving our meal we had lost the will and just wanted to leave. (Think we had been forgotten about upstairs on our own) We won’t be returning - and certainly won’t be recommending this for a Sunday lunch.

I had my late husband’s wake here. To be honest I was worried as I hadn’t been to the Newnham Court Inn in years and didn’t know what to expect. I was very impressed. My initial call to make enquires about booking the venue was simple and efficient. Likewise when I called back with my choice of food (which had been emailed to me very swiftly) the member of staff was very helpful. The staff on the day were efficient and very discreet. I was allowed to decorate the room with photos and have my own music to play in the background, the only proviso on that was that it wasn’t too loud to disturb other customers in the main areas, which is quite understandable. The buffet was delicious. The sandwiches were well filled with quality ingredients on quality bread and the other food was also of good quality and quite delightful. Everyone commented on the quality and enjoyed the deserts. There was more than enough food and boxes were supplied for my guests to take away the surplus. The deserts were definitely yummy and enough of a selection to satisfy everyone’s palate. Coffees and teas were plentiful and I was told when booking, if I needed any more I just had to ask. One guest wanted a final cup of tea for the road and although all the cups had been used, a clean cup was quickly supplied on request. My only complaint is, I asked for a written invoice to be emailed to me after the day (for probate purposes) and to date I haven’t received it, which is a shame because everything else was perfect.

We came for a girls catch up for dinner. The food was amazing and Alison, our server, was so down to earth, friendly and helpful. Kai was also great at the bar. We had a great time.

Use this pub quite a lot and never disappointed. Step daughters birthday dinner with my wife stepdaughter and stepgrandaughter. Food was good as ever service a little slower than normal however our waitress Rebecca appeared to be on her own and was working really hard and this was not a problem. Good value as well.

Sunday Lunch with my family. We had the Beef & pork Sunday Roasts, which were lovely and sides of cauliflower cheese & pig in blanket. Our waitress Ellie was fantastic as where the other server's bringing out our food & drinks. We all highly recommend and we will return. Thank you all for a lovely visit.

I have never experienced a service to accommodate my food requirements in any establishment not just in Kent but anywhere, as I have here today. At no point was anything to much trouble Sophie made that clear I highly recommend the Newnham court inn. Every staff member is happy and eager to please thank you what a team of wonderful friendly people

Came in for dinner on a Thursday night and it was amazing, big thanks to our waitress shareen (cherry) nothing was to much trouble, attentive without being intrusive. A great evening all round

Visited here for lunch with friends, long overdue due to pandemic. On entering the building we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Tables were well spaced out. Our waitress(vivian) was lovely and very nice and gave us time and space as us ladies had alot of catching up to do, had a very nice dipping steak meal and chocolate sundae, my friends enjoyed their meals too.

We were very well looked after by Adam, he informed us with everything we needed to know and we felt very safe

Just had a super meal and drinks for 3. Good food for a sensible price. Lovely friendly staff. Excellent attention to detail, one of the safest places I have experienced in Covid times. Hats off to Greene King and the team here.

Me and my partner had an amazing steak each here. It came with breaded mushrooms, chips tomato and watercress (as if I ate the last two)Steak was perfectly cooked and just right. I had bearnaise sauce on my steak which had lots of flavour, I was very impressed considering how cheap it was! Atmosphere was nice and staff were friendly and helpful. Bravo Green King!

this restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, excellent table service and the food is so tasty if I could afford to id eat there everyday. We absolutely recommend this to anybody, family friendly, business friendly and really reasonably priced!

Booked for a birthday evening meal. My husband requested the non-gluten Menu and this was quickly made available. The choices for him were quite extensive which was great as he was the Birthday Boy! When the food came it was excellent - piping hot and tasting good. The staff were attentive and efficient. Adam was our waiter and nothing was too much trouble, he even provided me with a lovely cold glass of iced water with my curry! This is a very Covid safe restaurant where they follow the guidelines very effectively.

Me, my mum and daughter came here for dinner, the service was alright, food came quickly but... Me and my mum both had a chicken and bacon ceaser salad was lovely food but as we was eating it we both realised it wasnt croutons that we was eating like it said on the menu they gave us basically toasted bread as croutons, we told the waitress and she said that's how our croutons are. Which we was both very disappointed. So we told another waitress and she just laughed at the situation but sorted it bill out for us. It's a shame because it was lovely food but you can't give someone toasted cut up bits of bread and give it to us as croutons.

Have visited several times this month and have been impressed each time with both the food and service. They have adapted very well to the new rules adherring strictly but in a comfortable and welcoming manner. Dog friendly, pipping hot coffee and a cracking roast means we will be back.

My partner and i went for dinner last night and we had a lovely meal with a lovely waitress who served us called Vivien .The food was nice and hot and well presented and served quickly .

Its the second time we have been here the first was fine this time the wait for the food was long and the food was cold so I sent mine back. When my food came back out I had no knife or fork. Very poor place to eat I will not be going back there again.

Lovely food and great service. Our server Vivien was helpful and made sure we knew all the rules and made sure the whole family was catered for, be it my daughter colouring in pictures or that my wife and I had everything we needed. Definitely recommend.

Visited the site last night with Family. The service from our server Shareen was excellent very attentive and good product knowledgeWe had Starters, Mains, Desserts, Drinks and Coffee all excellent.I had the 12oz Rump cooked medium and I must say it was one of the best cooked steaks I have had in a restaurant for a long time

We were welcomed by Vivien and she looked after us throughout. Newnham Court has taken all COVID-19 Health & Safety measures extremely seriously so we could relax instantly. Vivien looked after us extremely well, and the chef prepared a delicious meal for us all to enjoy. We all said that it was the best meal we've had in a long time, whilst the food is very important, what really helped was the atmosphere / customer service and how safe we felt in these strange times. We'll be back very soon!!

Stopped for lunch on Sat of Bank Holiday weekend, en route to Whitstable. Had booked ahead. No prior knowledge of this establishment, but were very happy with our choice. Our waitress, Vivien, was friendly and efficient and remembered every request to the smallest detail. Food was excellent and we didn't have to wait too long either. The pineapple served with my gammon was a large freshly cut piece, not a ring from a can! Covid 19/social distancing measures in place were very reassuring.

Popped in table available, no problem! Vivien was our waitress, nothing was an issue and anything we needed was prompt. Thanks for the fantastic service as always.

Ordered large Sunday lunch for 2 people which included extra meat, stuffing & sausages. Menu specifically says roast beef is served pink & we asked for this when ordering When it was served beef was like shoe leather & definitely not pink & tasted old, the rest of the meal was satisfactory. They changed the beef for turkey(very small slices) but a big improvement but said the beef wasn't pink due to the gravy!!

The meal was delicious and the service provided by Vivien was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

We had a family function at Newnham Court. The food was great and the restaurant was very covid safe. We had a lovely young lady named Vivien looking after us all. She was extremely polite and courteous and a credit to the restaurant. We have already booked another visit.

It wasn’t too busy when we got to the Newnham Court Inn, we decided to sit inside and got a really nice big round table. Drinks were good, nice selection of lagers. Lots of choice on the menu. Service was really good - waitresses were pleasant and got any extras that we asked for. Food was good, nachos are home made not just emptied from the packet (wouldn’t suit everyone’s taste). Had a variety of meals from the menu and there were no complaints on the day. Good prices of food. Contactless menu if we had wanted it, we could have ordered from the app. Plenty of hand sanitiser around the pub.

Lovely meal, even did crispy bacon on my ceaser salad! Thanks Vivien for serving us. It was great service with Covid restrictions in place.

I took my wife and daughter to Newnham court,all 3 of us had the mixed grill ,very well cooked and served by a pleasant waitress called Becca. Nice atmosphere and i would have been happy to pay the usual price for our lovely meal but Greene King is cutting their prices [very nice shock !]The only drawback is my daughter[aged 44 ]told the rest of the family so next time they ALL will be coming !! ......good ol dad !!

Called in for a light sandwich lunch. It was an "Eat In" Monday, and round our way the restaurants are packed on these 50% off days and it is almost impossible to book a table. There were people in the Newnham Court Inn but it was far from full. That should be a warning sign.My toastie was fine, though the accompanying watercress had seen better days. My wife's tortilla wrap was indifferent, with stringy bacon and wasn't particularly well cooked. Service lacked any sort of finesse, with the sachets of condiments thrown on the table and the empty packets just left when the table was cleared before our coffee.But what annoyed us most was the poor standard of coronavirus precautions. There were plenty of signs and a one-way system, and cards on the empty tables saying, "I'm clean", but the reality was different. The one-way system was obeyed by the customers but ignored by the staff. Even a lady in a "Clean Pub Monitor" teeshirt was happy to go the wrong way. A table near us was vacated by a party of four, and the waitress gave it a cursory wipe with sanitiser - well, the middle of it anyway, she ignored the rest and then put an "I'm clean" sign on it. Definitely not the truth.

Great atmosphere. Everyone using social distancing measures. Food amazing. Service was great Becca was very attentive and service was prompt. Both steaks were delicious.

We came with our family to Newnham Court Inn to celebrate my 40th birthday, from the start to end Tarryn was friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. She interacted well with the children in our group and made them feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was quick. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks and the price was excellent. Thank you Tarryn for helping make my birthday meal special and yet again another excellent meal at Newnham Court Inn. We will be back!

Lovely food could not fault it in any way I had the steak (Hunter) was tender and cooked to perfection my wife had the lasagna and when it arrived at the table it was to hot to eat straight away which makes a nice change from some restaurants we have visited The waitress was very attentive and polite (Rebecca) a most enjoyable evening and to top it off as it was a Wednesday it came with the government’s rebate Will be back next week for sure

There were 10 of us for dinner including children and a baby, separated on two tables but close enough to chat. The food was excellent and the service amazing. I could not rate it more highly and the way staff dealt with the distancing requirements was both effective and sensitive.A fantastic night out and a highly successful long overdue reunion of family facilitated by superb staff. 10 out of 10 for everything.

First meal out with my other half since February and had a really nice evening with friendly staff and felt very safe. Food was lovely and I would highly recommend this place if you’re still a bit uncertain about going out!

Really nice meal with some great options (even several delicious vegetarian options and a couple of vegan options). Nachos and cookie dough cheesecake were decent. Staff very friendly (we had a really nice waitress called Vivien) and there's plenty of covid measures in place.

Well, this was my first meal out since Lockdown started back in March and all I can say is that it was worth the wait! Our fabulous waitress, Tarryn, was superb, as always. Friendly, helpful and always willing to go that extra mile, or a socially distanced 2 metres perhaps! Food was A-ok and I cannot wait to return soon!

Prebooked our table for 3 family members and was warmly welcomed by friendly staff who showed us to our table . We had ordered the drinks then the mains which was Mix grill , Fish & chips and Steak and ale pie and after 15 minutes our meals arrived and l must say well presented and delicious. Overall the service, the meals and customer experience and the atmosphere was excellent !My family would be more than happy to strongly recommend The Newnham Court lnn at Notcutts Maidstone

This was our first visit after lockdown. Made very welcome, felt very safe and clean. Our waitress P was very helpful and made ordering easy. The food arrived, was very pleased with my choice of sirloin steak, cooked to perfection. It was an overall enjoyable relaxing family get together. I would recommend to my friends and family. Came today for the first today and had a great experience! Food and drink was great and well priced. Staff were tentative and friendly. Socially distanced pub with constant monitoring from staff. One of the best pubs I’ve been too.

It was our Mum’s 97th birthday meal. Our food was great the service from our waitress Vivienne was superb. The food was really well presented and we did not feel rushed at all. Warm and friendly atmosphere and all staff polite and attentive . First class meal . First class staff . A great evening

This is the first time I visited this restaurant today and brought my clients. I must say I was more then impressed and not just for the food but the outstanding service we received in particular from a young waitress named Tarryn. This young lady went above And beyond to ensue our visit was enjoyable and satisfactory. This young lady is a credit to the company. Thank you again I will be returning and will gladly be recommending this place.

This was our first meal out since lockdown and we cannot fault our evening here! From entering we could see that they were following all protocols, tables were socially distanced, hand sanitiser made available, one way system in place and staff wearing visors. Tarryn was our server and couldn’t of asked for a more friendlier and professional person. We could not fault her in anyway especially in the times we are facing she was amazing. Made sure we had everything we needed, was always checking up on the table to make sure we were ok honestly she is a real asset and she shows how customer service should be. Thank you so much for making our first outing a pleasure :)

We came in after visiting Santa at the nearby garden center, and it was only half full, which was a plus for 7of us. We ordered various dishes all were what you would expect from good pub grub, plus size and cost effective. My cousin thought he could finish the chocolate sundae on his own but it was gigantic, he gave it a good try though.! Good selection of drinks and Kids loved the chocolate pizza as well☺️
