Tried GF pizza, amazing flavour. Great customer service, and they have Garnacha (Spanish wine).

Spacious comfortable central with great views of Neville Street and the Royal Station my favourite hotel in my favourite city. Great beer selection too!

Good selection of beers, but the music is very loud. Option 50/50 for pizza is good, although the amount of extra meat topping didn't correspond to the extra charge taken for it.

Este era mi pub favorito en Newcastle y he estado muchas veces, pero hoy entramos con la intención de almorzar y tomar unas copas. Sentada en la mesa 18 y mientras miraba el menú de pizzas me llamó la atención una mujer sentada en las ventanas detrás de nosotros con un perro , primero por el perro golpeándome los pies luego tras tirar de él hacia atrás empezó a ladrar y gritar (al parecer porque su marido tenía otro perro y lo había sacado fuera y éste tenía celos o curiosidad de adónde iba el tío. De todos modos los ladridos y gritos constantes continuaron para un buen sólido de 4-5 tanto que decidimos al diablo con esto y nos fuimos a otro lugar. El personal no hizo nada para ayudar a la situación y un par de otros clientes que escuché decir “ridículo” cuando nos fuimos.

Encantador pub, espacioso y ventilado, el personal v amable Sin embargo, no estoy seguro de los precios... Pagué 16 libras: 80 ayer por un vaso grande de Chardonnay y una pinta de Kirkstall Ale. Parecía un poco empinado pero luego mi hermano dijo que su pinta era de solo £ 5 lo que hizo que el vino £ 11 : 80 ! Revisaré los precios antes de ordenar la próxima vez que lo crea.

Music a bit too loud for conversation, but a nice assortment of beers and ciders. Nice options for gluten free drinks! Didn’t eat at the Tap, but the menu was clearly marked for gluten free options. Bar staff knowledgeable about gluten free. Tried Tyne 9 from Firebrick Brewery.

Making my first visit to Newcastle in 20 years. A first for Paulicarus. Starting off in this CAMRA 2025 Good Beer Guide entry. A choice of 6 handpump real ales. 2 ciders and lots of fizzy beers as well. Paulicarus chose an unfiltered 3.4% New England Pale by Tapped Brew Co, Astral Voyage. An excellent session beer. A very modern bar with a large Mezzanine. Food served. £ 7.50 for my pint and a half of Mittel lager. Great position opposite station.

Great pizza, great beer, great atmosphere. What more could you ask for? The staff were very helpful while I took way too long choosing my beer from the impressive selection of keg and cask ales. It's a great location too, set just opposite the railway station. I'll look forward to going back. Cheers.

A really buzzing atmosphere at the Tap tonight, with many after work drinkers and office dinners. Beer selection needs a little updating on the European lager side imo.

Excellent location.. very centre just across the street from the main station. Solid quality for the price and the bartenders are awesome. The menu is all about Spanish flavors and I’d totally recommend giving it a try. But if you’re into beer.. you're at the right place. They’ve got a great lineup of craft brews on tap. And if that’s not your thing their cocktails are pretty solid too... ladies might especially appreciate that!

Warm & welcoming... fab interior, now with a mezzanine floor! Best Pizzas around... personal favourite... It's Halloumoros. I don't drink beer/Ale but they have an impressive selection and plenty of wines & spirits to choose from to suit all tastes. Staff are fantastic and always happy to help... highly recommend.

A centrally located bar with many beers on tap, unfortunately in my personal opinion I would prefer some stronger fruity pale ale to be offered. Good service

I came in last Sunday with my partner to escape the storm and Elias was very spot-on with drink recommendations and extremely friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back—and bringing my friends along too. 😊

Great venue. Friendly staff and lovely pizza. I just wish they put better beers on. They have a huge taplist and use untappd somknow the scores but I struggle to find anything decent to drink most visits. Why not put at least a few beers scoring over 4 on?

Nos acercamos a Newcastle Tap para organizar una fiesta de 40 años para nuestra hija en su visita desde Australia. No es algo que hayan hecho antes, pero el manager Scott estaba muy interesado en hacerlo. Honestamente puedo decir que fue absolutamente fabuloso! La fiesta tuvo lugar un domingo por la noche y estuvo cerrada al público en general para nosotros. El bar en sí está perfectamente situado y había tanto espacio, que había más de 80 de nosotros allí. La comida era fantástica y abundante, y como había algunos niños en la fiesta Scott había organizado actividades para mantenerlos ocupados con libros para colorear e incluso hacer sus propias pizzas! Scott y su equipo fueron más allá en hacer de la fiesta un gran éxito, así que si estás buscando un lugar para una función o simplemente una reunión con amigos, no podrías equivocarte con darle a Scott y su equipo la oportunidad de darte la bienvenida.

Proximity to the train station... Check. Didn't eat there, but the pizzas looked good. But really? No pepperoni pizza? That's a bit weird. Here's a hint... Tomato sauce, pepperoni, cheese, done! Anyway, if you're waiting for a train or just want an incredible selection of draft beers and not necessarily a pepperoni pizza give Newcastle Tap a shot.

Lugar fresco justo al lado del hotel en el que nos alojamos. Muy bonito por dentro. Tiene un buen ambiente de micro cerveza. La comida es muy buena también. Teníamos una pizza que era un split con el americano y el rubí Murray. Apodado el Murray americano ahora desde que les dije que era un Murray y obviamente un americano. Muy bien. Ambos lados tenían grandes sabores. Tomé algunos aceites de ajo y aceite de chile para mojar. El ajo era el mejor. Tenía unas cervezas estupendas y pizza muy buena. Todo el mundo trabajando aquí era tan agradable. Realmente genial.

Stopped off in Newcastle before an early flight, the Tap was opposite our hotel. Some lovely beers, friendly, helpful staff and a lovely pizza and salad too. Would really recommend and we’ll be back next time

The pizza was really nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The beer selection was a little bit dull for me but what they did have on tasted good. Also, there’s no customer WiFi.

This place is a rip off. We paid £24 for one mushroom pizza and when I asked for chili oil they charged me £2 for a little bit of oil with some chili flakes in it. Never going back.

Finally came here after walking by so many times. The other reviews you read about the staff being great and the food being tasty are spot on. The pizzas were tastier than they had any right to be. The selection of beers is great and the prices are reasonable for city centre. Perhaps the best bit about this place is the staff. They're clearly hard working and they still find time to be kind to customers spanning a wide range of ages. We will recommend this place to friends and we will return because the staff, the food and the drinks are all so ace. Glad we called in. Can't wait to return.

Matty and Billy were consummate professionals: highlighting the choice of south American spirits and providing excellent levels of communication throughout the night. These staff members demonstrated communication skills far beyond their job description. If any examples of their CPD were required, please get in contact for a detailed synopsis of their behaviours. These demonstrations of positive behaviours need to be recognised in any end of year recognition policies.

Great selection of draft and bottled beers but surprisingly no Newcastle brown ale. I'm a tourist and upon entering the "Newcastle Tap" I expected to find it. Otherwise, very good atmosphere.

My department have been coming here on nights out for a number of years now and it is our firm favourite - from bar staff to food to seating, we absolutely love this place and everything about it. Fab staff, excellent music choices, and the beer selection is out of this world.

Always an excellent selection of beers. Close to Newcastle Central Station so a really good place to wait out a bit of time with a glass or two. From 5pm onwards it fills up and the atmosphere takes off. Mix of UK and international beers. Well worth a visit.

Pub with excellent range of beers across from station. Can get busy but great place to sit with a beer when it's quiet. The staff are really knowledgeable too. All of their beers are labelled if their vegan friendly and there's a vegan pizza on the menu too!

First time visit, will definitely visit again, staff friendly and a lovely atmosphere.

Depending on the time of day you go, it can either be half decent music at a welcoming volume or awful 80s pop played overwhelmingly loudly. I hadn't been in in about 18 months after having a soured pint of cask replaced by a different, also soured cask pint but was after something to eat at that end of town. Had a decent keg stout, an unseasoned pizza, and then tried something on cask which, perhaps predictably, soured. I think it'll be more than 18 months next time

Brilliant brew, great time and a lovely chat with bartender Mia who was kinda and helpful with directions. Great time, great spot and the pizzas smelt great! Will come again

Everything you could ever want from a modern craft/cask and cider bar, great conditioned beer, super clean and we have to give a special mention to the lovely Mia for spoiling our dogs rotten, they were made to feel as welcome as we were. I’d thoroughly recommend the Newcastle Tap to anyone travelling to the area

Came here twice, once for beers and once for food and had a nice time. Great selection of drinks and the pizza was really good. The guy behind the bar was friendly and recognized us the next day we came in.

I went in on a drink after work type thing. Amazing selection of beers on tap. On the back wall you can read what each beer is like, hoppy or whatever. Don't get the fascination with overly hopped beer. It tastes like elderflower. And another thing. What is the fascination with elderflower. Why ruin a good drink with floral tones? Where was I? All one one level so wheelchair friendly but it is crowded with an assortment of tables and high bar stools. That's before it gets crowded with an assortment of people. If they do food that's news to me. If you want a nasty pint of Fosters then there's a wether spoons over the road.

I had an hour to kill whilst waiting for a replacement train. The staff had a good bit of chat in them, and a wide selection of beers made the time fly.

Possibly one of my favourite places in Newcastle. Open plan drinking area with plenty of tables. Last time I was here there was footie on, and there were plenty of happy people on their way to watch the match and I had a few cracking random conversations. This time was just a Thursday evening while I waited for my train home and there was a healthy number of people there. Spare space so we didn't feel crowded, but enough to make it feel happy and sociable. Big windows so plenty of natural light, and a decent range of ales on to satisfy almost every taste (although they were a bit light on imperial stout, I'll forgive them as it's a general issue with breweries right now!) The pizzas are brilliant. An interesting selection to keep everyone happy and not too long to wait for it. Finally the staff. Always seems to be a friendly and patient team trying their best to match you to your drink. Fair play, front of house team. One concern I did have was how suitable this place would be during the zombie apocalypse. Big windows would be very hard to fortify, so unless they have shutters then I would suggest an alternative location for hunkering down.

What a fantastic selection of pizzas, I could've picked so many off the menu! I opted for a BBQ pizza and it was really tasty, 12" was perfect for a filling lunchtime meal. Looking forward to visiting Newcastle again so I can try the other flavours! Advanced selection of ciders and beers too!
