Brilliant location and food is great. The breakfast is to die for. Cafe staff are hard workers.

A very good bacon sandwich. I ate most of the first half before taking a photo. I've tried the white bread sausage sandwich too and it was also excellent.

Lovely coffee and the staff are so helpful, Big bonus is they are dog friendly nice stop of while out with your dog 🐕

Abit confusing as we went into in sitting area to be told we had to go through to the entrance to order food.scones were ok,coffee abit better.

Cute small little cafe by the river. Depending on where you sit views are really good, medium sized menu, shame they don’t do more of a variety such as full breakfasts, ok priced, paid £15 for a ham and cheese toastie, crisps, cake and two lattes - wouldn’t pay anymore, but food was hot, really tasty and served quickly, bit of a long wait when busy so could do with an extra staff member in busy periods, would come back again, also dog friendly so big bonus!

Found by chance but worth the visit. Freshly prepared and good value. A sign on the waggon way will help

A great stopover for a bacon sausage and egg sarnie lovely it was too and a large latte well worth the money even the dog got a cheese scone no butter of course and a sausage I will be back for sure

Ideal for a cup of tea/ coffee at the start of our walk to Wylam. Only problem was it didn't open until 10.00am and when we returned at 3.00pm it had closed again.

I visited this cafe for my lunch with a friend. The service was excellent and their was a lovely homely atmosphere. I chose the home made soup and it was delicious , scored 11 out of 10. I enjoyed being able to see all the dogs with their owners as I don’t have one of My own.

Went for the dog Christmas party. Staff are amazing and really friendly and the coffee is really nice and do a fancy hot chocolate.

What a great place to stop on a fabulous walk along the river Tyne. I often walk from Wylam along the river bank and take a break here before heading across Newburn Bridge and back along the other side. Made welcome every time, even with an old and sometimes grumpy dog. I enjoy a scone and these days its hard to find a cafe that serves fresh homebaked scones, nothing more disappointing than a stale stodgy and tasteless scone that leaves that cloying baking powder aftertaste. Not here! They are10/10! I always seem to time it right; those scones have just come out of the oven and are still warm. Best of all they are delicious and remind me of my childhood when mam always did a batch every week. Yesterday I tried feta and jalepeno, and it was outstanding, highly recommended! .

I have been visiting this delightful dog friendly cafe for many years now and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I was sitting outside enjoying my usual delicious cheese and jalapeño scone when I overheard a group of people on another table. This man was explaining how over the years he had travelled all over the world and had never had a toastie to match the ones at the Hedley Cafe. So of course I had to try one and and he was so right. 10/10. So give one a try and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

We had a lovely bacon butty and a scone, the girls are so lovely and accommodating. The place was clean and bright. We sat outside with a view of the river. Will be returning soon, thank you Hedleys! Thoroughly recommend

A fantastic little spot next to the river to grab a coffee or a snack. Coffee isn't my favourite in the area, but the staff are always so amazing especially when they get so busy or have been during lockdown. Food great and dogs welcome.

The staff were friendly and covid safe. It was take out only, friendly staff but didnt feel there was many savoury options due to covid take out.

Hedley's is our traditional half-way recharge stop on our Sunday walk loop between the bridges at Wylam and Newburn. Currently only serving from the take-away entrance at the front of the building (following the COVID lockdown) and lacking both the indoor and outdoor seating, which have been cleared away for the time being. There is often seating nearby on the river's edge, so all is not lost (provided our changeable weather behaves itself, of course). The coffee and cake are as good as always though and the staff remain friendly and courteous.

Lovely little place by the river side. You can get a bowl of lentil and ham soup with a cheese or ham sandwich for £4.95. Well worth a visit.

Just what newburn Riverside park needed a very good cafe dog friendly good parking open 7 days a week and good value

We went in at 13.45hrs on Thursday 2.1.20 and asked for a hot beef sandwich from the Specials board. I was told that they didn't have any beef left so I looked again at the board and I was told that they didn't have any of items on the specials board left. I asked what they did have for sandwiches and I was told cheese and onion. I ordered two of these and two teas. Before our tea was made the lady came out of the kitchen and said she had run out of onions! Our tea was made and I asked for skimmed milk but was told we don't have that. I can only speak as I find but not a good experience for us!

Had the soup and sandwich deal for £4.95...excellent value for money. Lentil and bacon soup tasted delicious and the ham and cheese sandwich is filling in its own right.

Just newly discovered this fabulous cafe on the river Tyne. Great food, very friendly and efficient service and very affordable. The location is very popular with cyclist and walkers (with and without dogs) lovely footpaths and great scenery. The staff welcome dogs and even provide treats for the well behaved ones (dogs not their humans).

Such a stunning walk along the river side , my first ever time on this walk . The river is fabulous . There is a pub at the top road , and this charming coffee stop . Access is good ,and there is plenty of room . A lovely garden to sit outside , but it was a bit fresh today ... We Both chose egg and bacon sarnie in white bread , with tea . The sarnies were “proper” delicious doorsteps filled with lovely bacon and double eggs . However : there is Warning that goes with this sarnie . Make sure the egg is facing away from you 😂🤣🤫. My first delicious bite , was accompanied by a lovely warm feeling all down my front !!! The egg burst and later I had to wash right down to my knickers !!! It was delicious , I am looking forward to going back and trying some more lovely food ... delicious xz
