After searching for somewhere to eat, we found this awesome chip shop, all cooked fresh while we waited, the cod was really flakey inside with deliciously crispy batter, the steak pie was also really good, best of all was the Irish curry sauce with the chips was outstandingly delicious . Sat in a lay-by - 5 mins away on the Brecon beacons to eat was just perfect would recommend without hesitation.. yummy delicious food. Thank you

Shop was dirty, food was grim. Fish was not fresh and the chips had been refried with old oil. Totally gone down hill

The potatoes were evidently well past their best. The cell structure was broken down, so the chips were limp and a weird dark brown. I'd say the spuds were starchy, like they were preparing or already sprouting. The saveloy was cold and blue inside - totally unappetising. Chucked the lot away

Tried this place a few years ago and it was awful. Thought it still cant be that bad, so ordered a couple of portions of chips and ended up binning them. They smelled of dirty oil and were dry. I have no idea what they had done with them? Maybe reheated? But will never be back. Yuk!

This used to be the best fish and chip shop around. Lately though, the prices have risen and the portions have shrunk. Using smaller boxes to make it look like the portion hasn't changed. We used to get our fish and chips every Friday as a treat. Got ours tonight, dry and overcooked battered fish, undercooked chips and not enough Panko Prawns to make a portion, so they topped it up with a fishcake, no dip. This is the third time since just before Christmas. We thought last time was a one-off, but it doesn't appear to be. We won't be going there again!

Used to be the best fish and chips in Cornwall but for the past few weeks has been very disappointing. I thought maybe it was a one off but now 4 times in a row, due to new management I assume, the food has been very poor. Soggy and greasy chips, batter is also soggy. Chips have lots of green and black ends in and are quite unpleasant. What used to be my favourite takeaway has become one of the worst. Unpleasant greasy and soggy food.

How difficult is it to make a good plate of fish n chips, particularly if you do it day in, day out. Clearly it’s not as easy as I thought. The cod & chips and haddock were not quite as expected. The cod had soggy, greasy batter. The haddock batter was a bit crisper but loaded with grease and running into the polystyrene container. The chips were like small end cuts and wrinkly and tuff, possibly reheated from lunch time. The guy serving me was smiling, polite and friendly, hence the additional stars. His assistant doing the cooking possibly needs more training or more practice.

Previously ordered many times and always enjoyed, but placed an order for more people this time. A meal was missing so I called to let them know, and ask for the remaining food. I was told I was wrong and it was all sent. We double checked our receipt and the food. Then told they couldn’t do anything as order was placed through Deliveroo. Just an apology would have made a big difference.

Probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and believe me, that’s based upon sampling a lot of places over the years!

Apparently this used to be the best chippie around, but it's recently changed hands and we were disappointed. Dry stodgy chips, small pieces of fish, soggy batter. Go elsewhere.

Fish was very very nice, chips however were very very poor dry overcooked and not fresh I can only assume they were the end of that particular batch which was disappointing.

Pitstop whilst working away. This was not a good takeaway. I had to wait a while - whilst deliveroo drivers turned up and collected orders. Staff were not wearing face masks and I saw a member of staff touch their mouth. The chips were OK. They were a little greasy and I had two undercooked / hard chips in the one portion ordered. The fish was soggy. The batter had cooked on one side but half of the batter was uncooked and squidgy. I could not eat it. Even worse the fish was covered in the wet batter meaning i had to waste most of the fish. I will not return.

This chip shop was recently taken over by new owners. The new owner is a really cool guy not the misery that was there before. Really great fish the large cod is sumptuous, really good value. Chips could be a little nicer cooked.

Having initially planned lunch at Muddy Beach, we didn't bother staying due to a reduced size menu at eye watering prices for an impromptu stop. This led us to grabbing something quick to take back to the office instead, Nemos certainly did not disappoint. Large fish & chips with a side for under £8. The fish was a large skinless, well cooked fillet on top of a generous portion of chips with the side. This is far better than the 'Harbour Lights' where we usually go to in Falmouth and in future I shall drive to Nemos in Penryn to buy our fish suppers instead. The shop is a clean & hygienic environment with covid measures in place. The staff are lovely, especially the girl serving and they have a great menu with offers. Well done Nemos, I don't give 5 out of 5 easily & you have earnt it & a new customer!

Didn’t want to cook, so thought fish & chips, so glad we found Nemos, Order then there cooked while you wait, first class. We were told they were the best in Cornwall , 🙂

Recently ordered plaice and chips, waited 40 minutes, ate some of the fish with one part tasting very “fishy” so I decided not to eat the rest. The next morning I was violently ill with vomiting for 36 hours. Sad as I will now need some convincing to come back again and I’m seriously questioning their hygiene standards.

Only “place” you’ll catch me going for fish and chips. Fish and chips are always lovely here. Everything is cooked freshly for you. Great portions. And friendly staff too.

Found this place by accident, but will definitely be heading back! Great food, the chips were incredible, excellent friendly service, couldn’t fault it :)

Yesterday I called Nemos to preorder fish and chips for a group of us. When I arrived to collect them, the staff were really pleasant and courteous, and the wait was very short as our fish was almost ready. The chips were plentiful and tasty, and the fish was so fresh. The whole meal was really wonderful, and we will now be making Nemos our new local. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The fat used left a strange after taste, crisp batter but too much of it, x2 large cod and chips ordered Chips not great, small bits and pieces.

We used to get our takeaways from another place in Penryn but tried Nemos one night. Since then we have always called here when we want a takeaway, the food is fresh and good quality, bit of a swine to park but not impossible

Nemo's is a family owned chip shop which serves the best fish and chips in Cornwall. Good value and very friendly. Cash only but they will direct you to the nearest cash machine. Highly recommended.

Perfect for fish n chip Friday at work, or an easy option for tea for the kids after a busy day. Great selection on the menu and no they deliver through Deliveroo although not tried that yet

This shop is never empty &you will have a short wait but its well worth it, all the fish is cooked to order none of this old fish from the heated cabinet. if you are hungry & in Penryn give it a try ,you want be dissappointed.

Fantastic food and quick to cook as well. The only place I’ve found in ages that do potato fritters. We had it delivered through deliveroo and it was piping hot. There prices are good and will definitely be using them again.

There was quite a queue crammed into Nemo's, but that proved a good sign as their fish & chips are top notch. They had plenty of staff on, working like Trojans, but you can't rush at this game, and a bunch of us had to wait for the next batch of chips to be done. Well worth it, because the reward was a piping hot nest of chips under a stellar bit of battered fish. The chips had plenty of potato flesh in them, and the flavour was like I remember from my childhood, so Nemo's must be doing something right in the fat they use. Whatever their secret is, those were the best chips I've had in ages--no soft, stuck-together lukewarm clinker here, that's for sure.I just had the regular cod & chips, but the portions were generous and more than enough. Some punters were ordering large cod & chips, and if they could eat all that, good luck to them. I saw a large cod served to the guy in front of me, and I tell you it was the size of a clown's shoe. To sum up: be prepared to queue, but you won't regret it.

Genuinely the best chips I've ever had. Proper old fashioned taste. First night on holiday and now I want them every night 😀. The batter recipe is amazing

The choices of fish and chips are very good. Large or small fish, pies, mushy peas! Excellent value!

We always have fish chips and a side , always good portions , always phone and pre order, on the odd occasion the curry sauce was not hot but I always say please make sure it’s hot not had a problem since.

Best fish and chips so far in Cornwall We also ordered the £8 seafood platter and a crab cake. But we're very disappointed with the crab cake and seafood platter.

We visited Nemo’s for a fish and chips takeaway dinner whilst staying locally on holiday. The food was lovely, very fresh, cooked and presented well with care and attention. I rated the fish highly, one of the best that I’ve had, full of flavour and the batter was light and tasty. Highly recommended visit here, you won’t be disappointed

My 80th Birthday Party , 17th August 2018.Treated my children and grandchildren to a fish and chip supper from Nemos.Twelve large cod and chips with peas and two vegi burgers with chips and onion rings.I'm 80 now so know a thing or two about fish and chips.These were the best I have ever tasted. Magnificent thick white cod pieces in superb golden batter. Huge portions of the most perfect chips; crisp on the outside soft on the inside. This wonderful feast completed our day.Thank you Bryan and well done. I honestly believe you make the best fish and chips in the country.Peter Richardson, Mylor.

Recommended by some lovely locals we met up on pendennis point, they couldn’t rave about nemo’s with any more enthusiasm! Firstly, no where to park, secondly, a very disinterested server bordering on rude. Resulted in fairly average scampi, nice chips, followed almost immediately by severe digestive issues lasting throughout the evening. Suffice to say I won’t be returning or recommending!

Had a family meal from nemos and it’s honestly the best quality mixed with the best staff. The kids received a toy each (kept them entertained) and had great food at a good price. Thanks and I will happily come back 😍

The chips were delicious and unlike any other chips we have ever tasted. Fish tasted fresh and was very flavoursome with batter light and crispy. Cooked to perfection. Large portions and excellent value. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Definitely the loveliest fish and chips I've had for years! The place was recommended by a local and he was right. The staff were friendly, the fish was tasty and there wasn't too much batter and the chips weren't greasy.

Good sized meaty fish and local FRESH potatoes, chipped and cooked to perfection. Very friendly staff; plenty of choice and fairly priced. Obviously takes a pride in all he does. Highly recommended.

I do love my fish and chips, and after visiting several shops across Cornwall and also Sussex I have come to the decision that Nemos is the best ive ever eaten! Not only do you get quality but also quantity in abundance! The staff are very welcoming and Bryan (the owner) is a top bloke!

After reading the good reviews from previous customers we were disappointed with the chips we had. Good size portions but they were floppy and tepid - not very nice. Perhaps we went on the wrong day and was unlucky?

How can I do this justice - simply saying the best fish and chips EVER hardly gives anyone reading this reference to my experiences. So lets put it this way: I have had the privilege of eating the humble fish and chip dish in four continents and many seperate establishments. London, Johannesburg, San Francisco, Copenhagen, Dubai - the list continues.

To day I made a lunchtime visit to Nemos.

The most delicious fish in Cornwall, very fresh and tasty. Excellent value for money,with lovely, helpful staff.

We visited on a busy Friday evening, we got a large plaice with chips and a curry sauce and a haddock and large chips and a mushy peas all for £13 ! Cooked to perfection and massive portions. Lovely atmosphere in the shop and great staff. Highly recommended

Nemos fish & chips are best I've ever eaten, and they have great choice of food on menu. The fryer do great fresh food cooked by him and staff are all so friendly xx

Best Fish and Chips in Penryn. Tasty, freshly cooked, good sized portions. Have tried Mariners and, although very nice, still think that Nemos is the best !
