Excellent food,fish and chips are excellent. friendly staff and owners are wonderful. Totally reccomend. Best fish and chip shop I've been to in a long time.

I heard it's the best chippy in St Austell. From what I've seen, there is no reason to think differently! Been there on multiple occasions now. Never had a bad experience.

Quite often order this takeaway, always delivered with a smile , only once had to wait to long ,,, they must if been busy ...

The pros: food arrived fairly hot and the delivery person was polite, friendly and cheerful The cons: food was terrible. It arrived in soggy paper bags, and had to be peeled off the paper ..but honestly... i wish id eaten the paper bag instead. The chips were clearly frozen oven chips that had been fried. The cod bites were inedible, the batter coating was thick, greasy and tasted "old", with a flavour of every other product that had been deep fried in the same oil for a long time prior. Attempted to eat the fish from inside the batter to try and salvage something but this was soggy and pretty tasteless. Delivery was around 30 mins past estimated delivery time but even though we were starving by then, we couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls... mouthfuls we've titled "instant regret" Summary: save your time, money and taste buds the trauma!

Very good staff Honest people I'm a Muslim and I went in the place and asked if the oil they cooked in was mixed in with everything they was honest and replied that we use the same scoop to pick everything up hw honest can you Did not eat from there but i would recommend as they are true and honest people. Keep up the good work 🤲💕

Increased prices on everything food is mediocre at best so not sure why the big increase on everything - Example a sausage was 1.90 now 2.50! Go white river instead.

Honestly, the kebab and fish was alright but but not worth all the grease an fat u have to stomach, the kebab meat must be cooked in a fryer the amount of grease and fat that comes off it. I had a pita bread with my kebab which i couldn't eat due to the amount of grease and fat it absorbed. They are over priced for the food u receive, it has left us all with bad stomach and we have bee throwing up from the amount of grease and fat, u could probably get a cup full of it just from the kebabs, wont be ordering from here again

Best fish and chips in st.Austell. The kids Meals were amazing especially the cod bites they were massive compared to other local places. Really friendly people. Highly recommend .

Just had Two Burgers and Chips from Harts.. Wow.. Never tasted anything like it.. Burgers so very nice done just the way I like.. Its so pleasing that they are so near to me, just few minutes walk.. If you haven't tried this Fish & Chip Shop yet, you need to.. It must be one of the best in town.. Well done Harts..

menu stated chicken fillet but it had a very hot and spicy coating which could not be eaten. I think the menu should clarify this as nowhere does it state it is coated nor that it is a very hot and spicy coating on the chicken. I phoned but they were very unhelpful and quite rude.

I think it's fantastic now it's new owners have got the business sorted. The menu is very extensive From really good fish 'n chips to burgers to Kebabs etc.

me and my partner have ordered from here before and normally pretty good,but our experience last night was extremely terrible!! we had my mum and dad over for food and we ordered more food than we would normally order. the lady on the phone taking the order immediately thought we was ordering too much food as we have ordered from there before and it's just me and my partner but we had guest, and she thought it was a joke and put the phone down on us! my partner then walked down to the shop to then being shouted at across the counter by a woman to say they was busy how rude!! all the people in there had an attitude will not order from here again as they shouldnt be speaking to there customers like that!!!

We had fish and chips from here yesterday. Absolutely delicious. Very friendly service, they did a special small portion for my 85 year old Mum. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Harts 👏🏻

Orders via just eat. Money taken. Order cancelled 10 mins before due., via email not even the manners to phone. No refund. Avoid at all costs edited to add they are still taking orders via just eat tonight. Be wary.

The fish and chips from Hart`s are lovely and we have used their takeaway service many times as we find it very convenient. Would really recommend people to try it.

Quite frankly the most disappointing take away I've had in a while; the chips were obviously ready made oven chips, the curry sauce was tasteless instant slop & the fish batter was gooey and bland - they put my pickled egg in a paper bag and I had to peel said bag off it before I could eat it and the battered mars bar was a mini mars bar, for £1.50 At least delivery was prompt...

What more can you ask for on holiday than fresh fish and chips, the food arrived hot and not soggy. It was really fresh and tasty with a menu that provides something for everyone. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

If you’re looking for a quality take away meal then look elsewhere. The Pukka pie was cooked to resemble cardboard. Luckily the inside was saved from destruction by the bullet proof exterior. The Scampi (was it really?), well it was small rolls of something fishy cooked,no, over cooked in some sort of factory prepared crumb. The chips were of generous portions which enables you to lob the black bits away and still have a few left to eat. Won’t be rushing back here in a hurry.

Do not order early...takeaway opens at 5pm and we ordered online at 5.15pm was told delivery was 6.15..that was fine...delivery turned up over 1/2 hr early with the chips like leather...obviously leftover chips from the lunchtime re heated...totally inedible ... First and last time...

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered. You can pre order before they open online,pay by card when ordering or cash on delivery. Food was delivered before their estimated delivery time, hot and well presented, tasted as good as it looked.

Delicious fish and chips, large portions delivered to the door. Friendly efficient service. Tried these a few weeks ago, now have the neighbours involved. They love them too. Of course there is not only fish and chips but the usual pies, sausages in batter, fish cakes and burgers etc. Well worth a try.

Just eaten fabulous cod and chips ... scrummy fish, lovely batter and the best chips we have had in ages.... a must go if you are in this area. Highly recommended

Definitely the best fish and chip shop around St Austell. Fish is made to order and the staff are really friendly. It's tucked away out of town, but worth finding for a weekend treat! It's near the top of Grove Road, in Gover.

We always go to Harts for fish and chips, never anywhere else! Freshly cooked, good sized portions and friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

I popped into to this place on an off chance. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. For a small hidden away chip shop the service was first class. From the lovely greeting that welcomed me and my boyfriend to the extent the staff went to to keep my large order warm while waiting for our taxi. I was also happy too see saveloys and pukka pies on the menu. Thank you Harts Fish and Chips for putting a smile on my face :D

Honestly one the best fish and chips I have ever had. Tucked away in a corner of St Austell. What a gem. Cannot rate highly enough.... So lucky to have this place as my 'local' !

We discovered this hidden gem as a recommendation from the holiday cottages we stayed in just outside of St Austell. Always on the look out for good fish and chips this place was so good we visited twice during our stay.
