Waited nearly 2 hours for our food and when it arrived there were missing items. Food was not very warm, the prawn purée was tiny and chewy. And the ultimate special balti had about 4 bits of small meat and a few prawns ( nearly £14 for just that with no rice) it’s a shame as the sauce was slightly tasty but everything else let it down, a naan bread should not be half baked. We will not be ordering from here again!!

Nawab’s is still the best Indian in Paignton I use Nawab’s every week this is a family run business they try there best to serve good food and there food is very good I don’t understand way some people are writing misleading reviews and posting pictures off food that are not from Nawab’s. Nawab’s is new it has nothing to do with the previous owners the new owner has told me his been having problems because off the previous owners

Decided to try Nawabs because we’ve been trying to find a decent takeaway. We ordered mixed tandoori grill which said it came with a vegetable curry, a prawn puri, sag aloo and lamb korai plus 2 peshwari naan and a couple of poppadoms. The ‘fun size’ prawn puri was grease filled. The mixed grill was also fun sized and dripping in grease. The sag aloo was covered in a slick of grease, and the lamb korai was also floating in, you guessed it, grease. The korai was restricted to 4 small pieces of meat. With both the korai and the sag aloo we had to actually pour the grease off it. Overall, shockingly terrible, a complete affront to Indian cuisine.

Takeaway order: Our food order never arrived. We received a notification to say it had been delivered-but it hadn’t. We phoned the restaurant who said “tough, phone just eat”. They made no effort to put things right. They have our money and we have no food. Not impressed at all.

Awful, awful, awful Had to give a star to make this comment. Food arrived half hour to early from time booked. Ordered a banana dish, no banana, no flavour, meat so tough my jaw hurt from chewing it. Orderd a semi hot dish, so so hot could hardly eat and didn't finish more like a very hot madras. Naan bread...my advice...avoid. Thought we'd give this take away a chance as we always ordered from previous owners. Food then was excellent but delivery was poor. From this experience with the new owners we will definitely NOT be using them again.

We used to be regulars at this curry house and really enjoyed it in the past, but sadly, the quality and experience have gone downhill. The food on our last few visits was overly salty, and the curries just didn’t have the same flavour or quality they used to. What was once a favourite spot has become a disappointment. One of the more frustrating things was the so-called 50% off deal. It’s heavily advertised, but when the bill arrives, you realise there are no real savings applied — it feels quite misleading. We also noticed some inconsistency in how customers were treated. Some tables received complimentary drinks while others didn’t. We couldn’t help but feel that because we returned a dish that wasn’t right, we were treated differently — which came across as petty and unprofessional. It’s a shame because this place used to be fantastic, but we won’t be returning unless things improve significantly

There are nights you crave connection. Something intense. Something that lingers. That night, I didn’t need candlelight or a lover — I needed fire, flavour, and the kind of satisfaction only a truly great curry can give. That night, I found myself at Belgrave Tandoori. And baby, it delivered. From the moment I walked in, the scent alone teased me — warm, sultry, promising a night I wouldn’t forget. But nothing, nothing, prepared me for the vindaloo. It didn’t just flirt with my tastebuds — it ravished them. This wasn’t a dish, it was an experience. Spicy, bold, unapologetic. The heat hit slow, like a lover who knows exactly what they’re doing. First, a kiss of smoke. Then the vinegar tang — sharp, commanding. And then the full burn, deep and thrilling, rolling through me in waves I didn’t want to stop. I moaned. Quietly. Maybe not quietly. And I wasn’t even sorry. The lamb was tender — scandalously so. Each piece soaked in that fiery, rich sauce, ready to melt on my tongue. I found myself dragging pieces of fresh naan through the vindaloo like I was painting passion on a plate. Every bite left me needing another. Desperate, even. And the staff? Sweet, attentive, discreet — like they knew I was in the middle of something intimate with my plate and respectfully gave us space.

The most delicious takeaway. Chicken Makhani, Duck and Nepalese Goat (best of all). Great online order system, ready on time, friendly staff - a great find in Paignton
