Excellent quality and value. The fish and chips are very good indeed with excellent taste. We also like the kebabs they do. Everything is so clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They have adapted for Covid conditions well.

This Fish Bar is IDEAL if you park up behind Chatwins Bakery. It stocks all the usual favourites and the service there is exceptional. The Fish and Chips there is absolutely first rate and its ideal to sit in the town centre on warm sunny days!.

The two other customers in the shop at about 8pm didn't bother with face masks, or social distancing. Shame. The fish and chips are nice, so are the staff.

The portions were generous and surprising so was the quality. Everything we ordered, such as the fish and chips was prepared fresh on the premises and the freshness shines through. You can taste the sea from here!

So we waited 10-15 minutes to place our order aka this is a chippy it shouldn’t take that long. Over heard the gent behind the chip counter swear multiple times, staff don’t know how to smile. My mother asked for a “ donner kebab “ and her response was “ a donner what “ afterwards my mother was paying and she just said “ tap it on here “ after she tried to put her card in manually. Absolutely disgusting service.. yeah the food may taste nice but they way your served it was appalling.

Visit this place regularly when in town on a Saturday and it hasn't disappointed me yet, the Fish & Chip supper with peas bread and tea is always cooked fresh with a decent portion. Light crispy batter. Good service, plenty of helpful staff. Recommended!

My husband called in here and asked for his food to have an extra piece of wrapping paper as he was walking home. Instead the assistant put it in a plastic bag with a plastic fork. My husband then said he didn’t want the fork, but the assistant handed the bag to him saying “I’ve put it in now”. So much for us taking our own bag and trying to be plastic free! The chips, although cooked, were pale and described as being very mediocre. I think we’ll try somewhere else next time.

Went here yesterday. Quite simply, these were one of the best fish and chips I've every had. This will be a compulsory visit whenever I am in Nantwich. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Obviously some people lack a sense of humour,love the craic with the owner and fish and chips excellent.

Called in with my mum and son before the xmas light switch on. My mum had a small fish, my son had a small chips, and myself I had the mixed kebab. Small fish, the batter was soggy full of grease and not overly hot. The small chips barely warm. The kebab, the chicken was luke warm and the doner meat was the worst I've ever had. I will never return and for nearly £10, I'd expect better quality food.

It's a chippy! Decent fish, nice chips, has all the usual accompanying bits and pieces - even a kebab cooker should you fancy a doner kebab. Not as bright and shiny as some places but don't let that put you off - the food is very good.

Such a friendly warm welcome and immaculately clean. The service and fish and chips are just such great quality could not recommend highly enough.

Shop always spotlessly clean, staff engaging and funny. Food cooked fresh and always hot. Prices reasonable.

Llamé a la hora del almuerzo, habiendo sido en la casa de subastas de enfrente, y todo lo que quería era un chip butty. Cuando pedí uno, el asistente masculino (quizás el propietario, un revisor en Google ha dicho que el dueño era grosero con él), me miraban mal cuando pasabas a y respondió "no hacer". Tenían patatas, y tenían pan y mantequilla, así que él podría haber sonrió y me dijo que no tenían pero él podría hacer panecillos, un sándwich de chip. Pero él no dijo nada y parecía estar bastante contento de haberme salir con nada. Compré una porción de patatas fritas y 2 rebanadas de pan y mantequilla, que resultó ser un poco rancio, como si hubiera sido poner varias horas antes. Las patatas estaban buenas, pero había demasiado muchos de ellos para lo que quería. Nunca he visto un "fish and chips" antes que no chip butties! Me habría ido a otro lado, pero no sé Nantwich y que estaba hambriento. Yo sha no vaya allí la próxima vez que visite.

Always pleasant people serving good fresh food they do a large fish & Chips and smaller portion very good value

We use this fish and chips shop if we are in the Nantwitch area and need a takeaway. Good quality food and we have not personally experienced any of the issues raised by other reviewers with staff.

Rude owner was told it had great chips but was only laughed at for asking for white vinegar, was not impressed never been back since

Dry is probably the best word to describe the owner's sense of humour and it may not be to everyone's taste but if you want top quality fish and chips then look no further.

Having read some of the reviews I feel I should defend the owner of this shop.The food is without doubt the best fish and chips in Nantwich, the service is quick and efficient and I have always found the owner polite and courteous, but I have always been like wise.

I cannot get my head round how a little man in a little chip shop in a little town has such a massive chip on his shoulder. Zach is clearly not a believer in the customer is always right, in fact just placing your order is greeted with a surly arrogant air as if he's actually doing you a favour. I will definitely not be visiting this chip shop again even if the food was free.

Sited in the middle of Nantwich town centre, a chippy that should have everything going for it, the food is of a very good quality particualrly the the chips, the fish isn't bad either, what lets this place down is the service, a owner that scowls, treats you as though you don't count, and never says a word of gratitude. Great Food, shame about the rest.

We don't normally frequent this fish shop, and now I know why very rude owner and so much so we walked out without our order. We will never go back.

I called in for fish and chips and was politely served, paid and left. When I came to review the venue I saw the derogatory comments that someone had left.Very unfair comments, about rudeness (The spelling is 'rude' not 'rood', by the way)Looks to me that someone has an unjustified bee in their bonnet and a bad attitude.THIS PLACE IS VERY GOOD

An unforgettable experience!!!!My partner went into purchase 1 fish and chips and a sausage bap. She merely asked politely if she would mind if she seasoned the fish and chips her self to her own taste as she likes a lot of vinegar. To which he replied bluntly with a notable amount of aggression, "yes I do mind""You don't work here, your a customer"Then proceeded to empty the salt with out movement in a pile onto the fish.I could go on but just to wrap it up, He is with out a doubt the most obnoxious man she has ever met and the quality of the food was poor. So just to recap Service: RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, OBNOXIOUS.Food: POOR. If you want to be insulted and eat very poor food then go see the Nantwich fish bar.

The older guy who works here is absolutely horrendous, he would not know what customer service was if it hit him in the face, my mum asked to put are own salt and vinegar on and he was so rude and denied her of this. He is arrogant and the place is a dive if you want to eat and be treated like rubbish I advise to go there. Don't waste your time or the effort

Went into nantwich fish bar The guy in the shop with a beard was very rood.I asked for a fish an if he could cut it in half.He said I'm not your mum or dad do it yourself when u have purchased it.Si I let that one go.I then ordered chips an gravy...An said salt an vinegar I said yes...He tipped the salt pot completely upside downAnd continued to pour it across 3 times an same with the vinegar..So when I asked for chips peas an gravy I said can i put my own on His reply was no u can't touch the salt an vinegar pot and you get what u get given.I walked out out the shop.Never again an would not recommend this horrible service.How rude

Been going to this chippy for many years and has been with the same owner for as long as I can remember.

We had a lunch here and it was very good.Proper fish n chips bread n butter tea/coffee for two £16.I thoughtthat was value

The fish is good and so are the chips. But if there is any left, I have the chicken kebab. It's quite common for there to be none left if you arrive too late; which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned - it's not sitting there for hours/days, it's out, cooked and gone, so I know it's fresh. It's got a really nice combination of spices/herbs, not too overpowering. And a good portion size.The staff are friendly and jolly and they've got a good memory for faces and what you normally order (although in my case, that's not too difficult). It's a clean, tidy, family run chippie and definitely worth a visit.
