Service was great, food was poor in my opinion. I've always thought it overpriced and over hyped but teen chose it. My chicken was, unfortunately, too 'charred' for my liking and the way it was assembled meant barely any sauce throughout then a mass mouthful near the end. I personally don't rate it but my son said the loaded fries were great. As I said, service was good and food arrived quickly.

Food was okay but not the first time they’ve messed up a tables order, my friend had to wait 30 minutes whilst the rest of us ate our food because they forgot to bring out his starters. No offer a refund for him for the inconvenience, won’t be coming back.

Food received was tasty but the menu had multiple items on it that weren't available in store. Service was basic.

Warm, proper fresh hot food served. And the serve Butterfly Burgers. Atmosphere is nice, and the walk from the car park provides a nice view. Definitely my go-to Nando’s in Cardiff.

Absolutely disgusted sat listening to staff meeting when I confronted the gentleman who appeared to be taking the meeting he apologised him and the staff then moved but could still here staff meeting going on not good enough

Terrible service, ordered food, which came wrong waited 35 min still no food asked where it was said they had messed up and would be another 10 min waited 10 more min and still no food now waited 45 min making us miss film ridiculous and we were sat right by door which was freezing every time they opened door.

The food was really good. The food portion was big enough for 3. The mash potato was yummy 😋. You have the option to refill your sof drink, which is good for those who love soft drinks. The staff was friendly too and very professional.

Era warmly welcomed me, I asked for a table near a socket if any or they can charge for me. All I need was to pee but the ambiance of the place was 🥰🥰💯💯 so I sat down and had a quick snack- grilled halloumi and butternut quash etc , Era also checked in if google is great and offered a glass of water 🥰 thanks guys - best Nando’s place I’ve been too!

Was nice simple lunch i had a double chicken wrap with garlic BBQ and a coke zero. nothing else just simple lunch....evening came and i have been glued to the toilet since with the trots. NOT HAPPY and haven't eaten anything else in my day since.

Staff need training on how to host and provide customers service. Worst Nandos I have ever been to, staff where flat out rude, we were standing waiting in the rain and rather than say hello or acknowledge or even offer us to come in our the rain they just looked up gave a funny look and went back to packing delivery orders. Food was left out in the air for 15 minutes before being brought over and multiple members of staff walked past looked at it and went back to cleaning tables. A group who arrived before us where still waiting for food when we left, absolute shambles avoid at all costs.

This place is poorly run. The food was overcooked and cold. Sat under the heater for a few minutes whilst the staff chatted. The chicken could of bounced it was that rubbery. Manager just wasn't interested. Will not be returning to this branch and reading the reviews it really says alot

Food is good price is ok it gets very crowded ordering is done on the app including payment service was ok most is self service including drinks and desserts its easy to get to in the heart of Cardiff bay

Excellent service, food was brought out quickly and was perfect. Staff approachable and extremely friendly, going out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with everything. One of th best Nandos experiences so far.

Lots of places to eat in Mermaid Quay and this is a really good place for a nice meal. You go in. Get a table, Have a look at the menu, order using the qr code or at the tills and your food is with you between 10-20 minutes service is amazing. But restraunt Is a bit small.

This place has terrible service today, they make people wait up to an hour at the door in a long queue when asking why? It is curious that at no time did they stop delivering food by delivery. (Wouldn't it be correct to stop with the delivery and attend to the people you have on your door waiting in queue?

Great! Standard Nandos. Tiny inside but tables well managed. Super nice staff who genuinely seem to like working there. Fast service. 4 stars as toilets were not great plus they were out of stock of cheese and humous. Bottomless drinks excellent value.

Boneless platter with 2 large sides is amazing.

Each time I go there, I leave very happy , all staff is great, manager fantastic , checking the customers are happy by talking to us , he is in great attitude, food is fab , environment is amazing , very clean , beautiful decoration , thank you all

It’s a Nandos, so the food meets a certain minimum quality. This particular location manages to meet exactly that minimum level and is by far the worst nandos I’ve visited so far. The restaurant is half empty yet it to over 40 minutes to be seated and almost 50 to be served. To be fair, we were told there would be a 20 minute wait and i haven’t seen a single clock in the restaurant. Maybe they just can’t tell time… The food was mediocre. Wings were both burnt and undercooked and the “creamy mash” looked like something the dog had thrown up. The staff were similarly helpless with only one member running around by herself trying to keep up while 3 others just stood there looking dumbfounded. The kitchen seemed to have at least 3 members of staff too The soft drink fountain was great though. Cold drinks and plenty of syrup

Went in to grab food nice sunny evening to be met by a staff member who clearly don’t enjoy her job to be specific a black British or Caribbean lady who I came to understand is a the manager I ask for my order specifically for take away and to be well done as I don’t like the white chicken they serve when not cooked thoroughly made it very clear I want my chicken extra well done to avoid being served chicken I will not eat waited 45 mins after being told it would be 15 min by a grumpy miserable clearly not enjoying her job staff member to give me my meal under cooked really really upset £30 plus pound down the drain avoid being served by this lady by any means she don’t enjoy her job so you enjoy your food take this review serious as I would not want anyone to spend so much money for a service to be issued in such an appalling way especially on a nice hot day!!!!

Twice in 5 days, as always the service and food were astounding. Staff were polite and friendly and accommodating to my wife with her back. No.1 all year round.

What an absolute joy to have dined in Nando's. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. I mentioned to one of the managers who came around that the wine we had ordered was not quite cold enough and she immediately offered to replace the bottle. Of course we declined since we had opened it already but that was a great touch. Will definitely go back for the quinoa salad with chicken thighs. The tender stem broccoli was delicious as was the slaw. All fresh, tasty and worth it.

Afortunadamente, la camarera nos permitió no esperar en la cola, porque sabía que ya habíamos esperado media hora. Probably the best Nando's I've been to! Even when they were short-staffed, Liam was really friendly, still managed to get us sat down in a nearly full restaurant and didn't let his service drop once, absolute shining example of what customers service can be! Couldn't recommend enough, I'd give 6 stars if I could ❤️

Service was quite slow but was a busy Saturday so was expected and staff were friendly. Visited after it was shut to be refurbished but looks much better and sits more people! Always enjoy the vegan option, especially the Great Imitator wrap with Peri-salted chips!

went to Nandos the other with my misses cousin and that liam was so polite to us both. There was a few nice waitresses such as Ella and much more. All round an amazing place to have a relax and a scran.

The first time I've ever walked into a nandos and walked back out. I come to Nandos for the atmosphere, the South African/Portuguese style vibe. However, the mermaid quay restaurant looks more like a school dinner hall now 😔. The privacy between people has completely gone here. The deco/themes utterly bland now. Sorry Nandos, I'm normally a big fan!

Underwhelming and over priced no chicken thighs the chicken breast wrap was for nearly £12 on its own was poor chicken dry expect better from a place that all it sells is chicken your prices are ridiculous for the food that your dishing out!!

Haven’t been to Nandos for a few years and wont be going back any time soon. Lots not available on the menu, place looked dirty and messy and needed a clean. Prices are too high for the quality if food. Shame.

Friendly staff and quick service

The customer service was dreadful today. When sitting down for food, the door was left open by a leaving customer - the whole restaurant was complaining/putting their coats on. One member of my table then got up to close the door after the staff dismissed every customer. One of the members of staff then approached our table said 'cold is he?' I responded with 'I think everybody is' so they were fully aware of this. The door was then left open again as our food was being brought over, we politely asked the waitress to close this as everyone in the restaurant was cold. The door was then left open a third time, to which the staff completely ignored, despite two members of staff being made aware and the whole restaurant again complaining. I got up and closed the door again half way through my cold food. Again, left open and the other customers again complaining - another member of my table got up to close the door mid eating their cold food. Will not be returning purely down poor staff attitude and cold chicken.

New design is great. Our waitress Keelah was very good and polite in her role and was happy to help with everything for us. Overall brilliant customer service throughout💕

We had a terrible experience at this nandos. We were served our meals after waiting absolute ages and when we were served- half of the ingredients were missing from our pitas & later after we requested a refund they brought the missing ingredients over on a plate instead. We weren't the only customers experiencing this as the couple next to us had been sitting there half hour before us and they hadn't been served either. There were no serviettes for customers and no ice in the ice machine. One of the worst experiences we've had.

Love the food. Probably should be a five star but for some reason, even after pleading to have spicy sauce on your corn before grilling, the sauce is put on after. However I would definitely recommend.

Visited with friends. Website said my order hadn’t gone through so I was about to redo it when our drinks arrived - staff were able to confirm that the order had been successful. Our food arrived within a reasonable time and was hot and tasty. However the kitchen had forgotten to cook the chicken for our friends order. We were told it would be 20 minutes. 45 minutes later their food finally arrived. Not a great experience.

Food was nice but wrong sauce in wrap

Was exceptionally busy when I visited, the only forseeable downside to anyone in the area looking to eat out, the staff however were exceptionally considerate of the customers given the circumstance and went above and beyond the call of duty to give the best service. Unlike many nandos, during peak times, this outlet would take bookings and give good estimates on waiting times, so if you can stomach a bit of a wait, this is certainly a great place to go. The chicken here is cooked well with an adequate amount of sauce and seasoning, despite other branches being a bit inconsistent in this regard. Totally recommend!

Stinking toilets, and where they cook there food is disgusting. Horrible dry chicken with no sauce after ordering 3 differwnt meals with medium sauce. Had to pay £4 for some gravy to just about cover my pot of mash. Will never return to any nandos after this it was that bad🤣

We came in yesterday for dinner and it was so good as always in Nando’s. Liam was excellent ( I’m not sure if he is the manager but he should be if he isn’t. He looked after us very well , his manner and attitude was just great. He checked on us to make sure we were ok and it was a busy restaurant. We are on holiday in Cardiff and we had walked miles and were very hungry, Nando’s always sorts us out 😂👌. Thank you Liam

Rude staff, especially during the end of the day, all customers should be treated the same regardless of what time they arrive, if you want to go home early don't do the evening shifts

Place was disgusting with spider webs food took forever and the toilets were disgusting.Food was ok but they bare had anything we wanted.Definitely a better Nando's out there not an experience I particularly enjoyed.

AWFUL! Didn’t even eat in the customer service is disgusting. Tuesday 11th October me and my dad went for food before seeing a show. Took 15mins+ for someone to come and speak to us (bare in mind there was only 4 people dining).. we were greeted by a female member of staff who clearly thought speaking to us was such effort. We asked if there was a Gluten Free option, as my dad is celiac. The staff member said yes but would get the manager to come and speak to us, we sat down and started looking at the menu. The staff member spoke to the manager, the manager looked at us and that was it. We sat there for another 15 minutes while no one came to speak to us. No one acknowledge us. The manager walked passed our table a number of times and avoided eye contact each time. I was getting annoyed now so I googled if Nando’s did gluten free options to find a statement on the Nando’s website saying they didn’t… we then left as we were leaving we walked past the manager and they, once again, avoided eye contact (SHOCK)! All that needed to happen was the staff member and/or manager just needed to come and talk to us, apologise that they didn’t have any GF option and we’d have been fine but to be told yes, then seated and then ignored us down right rude. Absolutely disgusting customer experience. AVOID!!

Food was what I usually order just never enjoy Nando’s anymore as they no longer offer cheesy garlic bread or mango and lime spice on my food. This occasion there were no drinks but Diet Coke and Coke Zero (don’t drink either.) No ice or water.

Really nice staff, but when when went there the drinks machine was out of order and only cans available. These were just put on the table - no glasses, no ice. Food was pretty standard Nandos but, for me, it's a tired formula now and they are just going through the motions.

Food was so good I forgot to take a picture! Seated straight away with enough space for pram, food came super quick and tasted superb!! Super happy that the butterfly burger has returned, 10/10!!!

My friend and I ordered at the same time but mine did not arrive and after asking twice, with the first staff member ignoring our request for an update on my order, he just went back to the desk and didn’t check up on it. Eventually, I ate 20 minutes after my friend and it was just awkward. On leaving I used the bathroom and they were quite dirty with liquid on the floor and toilet roll everywhere. The food, however was nice and well presented and the waitress that I asked after the first staff member was helpful and apologetic.

If I could give a no star rating I would. Waited an hour for a table. Once we were seated, we found they were out of stock of rice & mashed potatoes. When we did order the app did not work. No help or advice given. We left & on this showing will not be returning. What a shambles. If this is the future of eating out, then pity help all of us.

Experiencia genial en este restaurante de la cadena. El personal fue muy amable con nosotros y la atención fue rápida y atenta. Y como en otros locales la atención no ha sido tan buena, queremos destacar que aquí sí fuimos tratados más que correctamente. Ambos platos, pechugas y muslos de pollo, con sus guarniciones, estaban ricos. No tiene mucho misterio, ya que es pollo a la parrilla con guarniciones bastante simples, pero todo estaba muy rico y salimos muy contentos. Repetiremos.

Ordered our food @ 9.20 only to be told after 15 mins they didn’t have most of our sides, so we picked other sides and witnessed the chef say she wasn’t cooking it (garlic bread) with a terrible attitude!!!…after going absolutely mad got a full refund but had 2 upset little girls and ended up ordering McDonald’s to our hotel, safe to say I won’t be visiting this branch again !!!..now been told it’s 5-10 days to receive our refund absolutely ridiculous 🤬🤬

Disappointed visit. Lovely location but staff training needed. No one queuing, no one at the entrance so sat an outdoor table. Waited a while then went to.ask for menus to be told there was a queue!! Where? Plied an order at the bar with 2 soft drinks. Waited 10/15 minutes went to find glasses,eventually got 2 warm glasses!. Fod arrived, tastes nice however the thighs were the size of wings! Disappointing.will not rush back or recommend. Sorry, because the flavour I like but service and standard not good

Lovely food in Nandos cardiff Bay. Staff were lovely, and it was very clean inside and out. Food waiting time was very short considering they were busy. Overall a great dining experience.

It’s harder than it looks to have some mediocre chicken these days…. We visited the 1/2 full Cardiff bay restaurant recently only to be told that we couldn’t be seated for 1/2 an hour……

Said they were closed 40 minutes before closing time. Felt a bit lazy and very unapologetic. Bit of a shame as we hadn’t had a Nando’s for a couple of years, so might now be another couple!

They were out of stock on chicken, literally! Lol and to think they only sell one thing ie. Chicken. Also the toilets are disgusting so can't imagine the kitchen being too clean either hence a really poor rating.

Food always delicious at Nando’s, but my review goes on the service I experienced today. A young woman called Ella, fantastic service and help from herself. So polite. Also Theo (I hope I got that name right) very helpful also with refunding me as they didn’t realise they were out of certain food I paid for.

We enjoy Nanods normally. But this Nandos was a complete let down. So just going to avoid this one. Food ordered 19:27 on 3rd July 2022 1. Went to till to claim red chilli reward, Told they don't accept card at till but to use the app and that we have to claim it via that. So we paid via app but then people behind us getting takeaway could pay by card. I don't mind them encouraging people to use the app but at least don't lie about it. 2. Drinks didn't arrive and had to ask a waiter after 15 minutes waiting. Which they then brought over the unlimited machine drink glasses not the actual bottled drink we had ordered. But, we didn't bother mentioning it. 3. Food was served to the wrong table, the members at the table were confused but said it may be the guys who's in the toilet. About 3-4 minutes later, when he got back he told a waiter it wasn't his food and they took it to the kitchen then after a discussion with another waiter in the kitchen they brought the plate to us. I asked if it had been on another table the waiter paused for a while then said 'yer, but they ain't done nothin to it' which I asked 'how does he know that, was he watching them?' We took the meal anyway but not great being re-served food that's been sitting at another table during a pandemic this really put a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the meal... and it was of course cold at this point. Speaking of which a guy at that table managed to sneak over and take an unlimited drinks machine glass without the staff seeing. (Staff really were not on the ball). When we had littrually 4 chips left on the plate a different waiter came around with a ticket/recipt and asked were we still waiting on any drinks. In which we did then get the bottle which was missing from our order. She then proceeded to 3 other tables doing the same for other orders. Whilst there we saw others having to get ahold of waiters to get their missing food. Food was enjoyable though, so not giving this 1 star review but 2. Other than what went wrong just a another note as part of review the restaurant was at half capacity (6 tables inside that were empty with a 30 minute wait). I assume they are understaffed or something.

Went in, app didn't work. Could see we were struggling. No help offered. Quite literally 6 staff (one looked like a manager) hanging around doing nothing as quiet. Just walked out. They even had the ordasity to sarcastically say cheers guys as we left without ordering.

Took my father there on father's day and we were highly disappointed. The establishment was rather unsanitary, the tables were sticky to the touch and the cutlery was not clean. When the food came, the chicken was rather dry and the chips were soggy. However, my 10 extra spicy chicken wings were edible. In conclusion, the only good thing there was the Coca Cola, and even that came in a dirty glass. Would not visit again.

Chicken was dry.Chicken in the burger was dry as well ,my daughter did not finish it. Corn was burnt. Table was sticky. You choose meals and then when you pay at the cashier, they add you taxes .

Same than every other Nando's. Nice food, friendly staff. However, when we were still eating a member of the staff came by and asked if they could get all the sauces to put the back, the restaurant was almost empty, so it wasnt for other clients and it felt that it was just a tidy up to close.

Cannot use card in person, cannot pay online without signing up for an account. Absolute Joke. Walked out and went to wagamama instead, hassle free bliss.

Tbh I don't think I'm being fair as its new mordensised etc if I go out for a meal I like somebody to take my order and pour my drinks and waitress service I won't be going again but I see why it's popular just not a luxury going for food when you practically do everything yourself

Staff deserve 5 stars for their excellent service. Prices are reasonable. Ordered: Chicken Butterfly, Fries Corn on Cob Bottomless Coca Cola Food is standard Nandos - mediocre at best. Chicken was dry - as a result it was very hard. Fries and Corn were good. If it's only for food, i'd rather skip Nandos anywhere in the world any day. Cutlery looks well used (probably close to expiry date) - does not inspire confidence in eating with the cutlery. Well worth the visit for the location and the excellent service provided by the staff.

Beautiful location. Ambience is great. Location is easy to spot. As usual food is amazing. We had ordered two chicken grilled wrap and one with pitta. Two kids meal. Huge variety to choose from. Enjoyed eating. Will surely come back for more

A lovely bit of afternoon dinner, staff were very welcoming and polite.

Decent experience. Food was good as usual. However, could only order on web unless paying cash. Hence could not customize our order.

The staff were so kind especially a man named Jesus, and he was an absolute savior. He sorted every issue: When we were seated at an unfavourable table next to the busiest pat of the restaurant he imminently reseated us into a much comfier booth, also when my dad had trouble with the app but as quick as lightning he wrote everything down and allowed us to enjoy the evening. Highly recommend and Jesus is deserving of a big tip.

The staff were lovely and polite which was a positive. However, the negative was that there were two people placing orders on their phone apps for our table. The 2 separate orders for the same table came out 10mins apart. Therefor my brother's family was half way through their meals before I got ours. Just to point out we pressed pay on our apps at the same time to avoid any delays. After our meal my family decided we had enough room for desert so we placed another order on the app. My brother had already placed his order with his mains. My order turned up and we ate it and finished it and my brother's family was still waiting for theirs and he had to chase for it twice. It really spoilt our evening as Nando's couldn't get their timings right. We were there for 2.5hrs when this really should have been alot quicker.

Poor management - missed food items and slow service resulting in cold burgers. Staff retraining needed as they seem to be unable to keep up with the demand, which is expected at any Nando's. Although items were refunded, it leaves a negative experience and makes it rather unlikely to visit this branch again.

Went for a lunchtime in the Easter holidays with a friend and our kids. The service, in particular from Jesus was very friendly and it was nice to be able to provide children colouring again. We enjoyed and left feeling full & satisfied!
