We have just had takeaway tonight 27th July 2024 and madras very salty chips from last night couldn't even chew them nan bread soggy would not have a takeaway again

Few drinks with friends than great food! Very classy curry house had Ross kemp special! Very spicy but full of flavour! Had mixed kebab starter also very good! Beer bit flat but didn’t sooil

best Indian in town by far! Used Namaste since it opened. Staff are amazing. Food consistently delicious! Waiters always professional but fun too. We go for Christmas dinner on Christmas day too. Amazing!

I ordered a jalfrezi chicken and vindaloo chicken. The jalfrezi was delicious, hot and plenty of it. However I was disappointed with the vindaloo as there was lots of potatoes,but very little chicken in it The restaurant was asking for feedback good or bad so I gave them my honest review. The manager contacted me , apologised for the quality and gave me a £20.00 voucher to compensate for my disappointment. Thankyou Namaste , a very kind gesture and totally unexpected! I have since ordered again and all the food was delicious, plentiful and delivered promptly .The customer service from this restaurant is excellent.

The food was nice but was totaly over charged unless it costs £15.00 for a couple of poppadoms and a coke didnt relise till it was 2 late id eat there again but id want a proper look at my bill

Excellent quality presentation and food. The Spicy chip potatoes were amazing. The chicken tikka wrap including chips, curry sauce and can pop was excellent. All the food was excellent.

We felt that current guidelines were followed making us felt totally safe. The food was delicious. Onion bhajis were the best I've had for a long time. We will definitely return.

We all went for a meal as a family.This is our local pub but we love the food and drink here. We were sat together as a family of 4 in the restaurant and greeted by the friendly staff. The atmosphere is amazing and it's child friendly. We were served quickly and given plenty of time to eat before we were given the next course. It was busy tonight but we were asked if everyone was happy with the meal etc The food was perfect.. Arrived hot.. Very tasty and a great portion size. We had a fab night.

For many years I have visited Namaste and by far it’s the best in town. The staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome, the food is delicious and staff really do go out the way to give you the best experience. If you haven’t been stop wasting time and get there! You won’t regret it. They also have many health and safety measures in place during the Covid outbreak to keep all customers safe.

10/10 from start to finish! I've been coming here since they've opened their doors and have never been disappointed. I've had many different dishes off the menu and I have no complaints. I've been with family and friends and there's never been any issue, that's why we keep going back. The staff are all very friendly and are seen often holding conversation with customers making sure everyone is catered for. With all the new safety requirements now in place, I can say that namaste have went above and beyond to maintain that everyone is safe but still enjoying their evenings. Amazing place recommend to anyone and everyone!

Amazing experience from start to finish! Went with a few mates and the staff were very accommodating. Usually quite picky with my Indian food but it was amazing. Generous portions too. The service was top notch, staff were very free very friendly. Will be going back very soon!

Went to Namaste yesterday with the family and couldn't have asked for a better night. Service was friendly and very welcoming, had a great laugh with all the staff. Timing of the food was great and once arrived it was delicious! From the seafood to the meat selections. Cooked to perfection also. I would recommend the King Prawns and Lamb dishes as this is what I ordered. You know you have had a good night when you leave with a fully belly and a smile on your face. Will definitely be coming back again! 10/10

Best Indian restaurant in South shieldsHad a few lovely cocktails in the lounge first and then went for a meal with my fiance. Food was really tasty and with reasonable prices. Staff was looking after us all the time and made the whole evening great for us. That was my first visit but will definitely go back many more times.

This was the first time I have been to this restaurant. The happy hour menu has lots of choices. I chose the mixed kebab for my starter and it was freshly cooked and full of flavour. For my main meal I had chicken balti with rice. Again full of flavour and food was freshly made. The service was spot on and all staff were very friendly. I will definitely come back again. If you like Indian food I definitely recommend try here.

Booked as a table of 10 (work night out) we are all nurses and having a well deserved night out. Arrived to be told no booking in diary. Person who organised said she booked via Facebook and got a sharp reply “We need to confirm” she said you did and showed him the reply!! Sent to the bar whilst we waited for a table, took around 15 mins. Due to the new covid rules And one way system this meant we had to Go out and come back in when table ready. Plastic screens also on end of tables but to be honest made no difference as the diners were sitting at either side and the screen isn’t wide enough to offer any protection. Some Waiters wearing masks, but most didn’t most of had them on their chin!! Popadom and pickle tray ordered. No idea what was on the pickle tray!! No onion salad or lime pickle, the only one any of us could determine was mango chutney! We all had starters and mains, all food piping hot and no one complained about quality of food. It was all very tasty. Asked for some to be boxed up to take home. Boxes just put in middle of table. One of the group didn’t notice this and his meal was taken and disposed of. Had he had almost 2/3 left! Anywhere else I’ve been they always box for you! Even just a cheap special on ocean road they always box it for you!! Drinks ordered at the table, had to be chased up on one occasion as one drink forgotten. It’s the service that lets this place down. The food is lovely but I’ve had same quality food with better service on ocean road! And it’s cheaper!

8/10 at best, friendly staff although far to eager to clear table for next course customers need time and felt like everything was a rush, serving a glass of water in a named pint glass lacks class and looks cheap, food decent and chicken was tasty no option for beef ? The place needs to sharpen up to get rave reviews wouldn’t stop me going back but I wouldn’t also rush back

Hi I would just like to take the time and personally say a big thank you and very well done. I know me father spoke to the manager in the restaurant once we finished our meal yesterday but I also would like to express how much of a lovely experience this was for us. All staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our time at the restaurant. We received a fantastic service. A prompt serving of meals but not rushed in any shape or form. Staff were quick on taking away finished plates clearing tables and giving us space. On top the of the service each and every meal was delicious. Given the current circumstances and the high demand for eating out and a very full restaurant I really feel you did yourselves proud last night. Well done and we hope to be back again in the near future. Thank you for such a lovely meal and experience.

Took my wife for a meal, walked in first reaction was wow. The restaurant interior was absolutely stunning the vibe was outstanding. Welcomed in high standard. The service and staff were so lovely and very friendly. Im a food lover and have tried all the indian restaurants i know but out of all i have found a stop. Namastei was the best food served and was mouth watering. No turn back found my self a home. Special thanks to RAAZ. The man of the night. Keep up your high standard mate. You guys doing a fantastic job. The vibe in the restaurant is unbelievable. Guys if you haven’t tried it out. You don’t know what you are missing. Thanks for making the night special for my wife. Service wasn’t great tonight. Courses in wrong order. Starters were disappointing. Nann bread was more like garlic bread....not sure I will be rushing back. Ocean road is way better

Was looking forward to this after some recommendations.It was very busy when we went so may be better when quieter.Food I would say was average, I love Indian food and eat it a lot and this would be in the bottom half of any recommendations I would give based on the food alone.Could only have plain pilau rice due to it being busy, which was a massive disappointment, and although my boyfriend ordered a chilli naan, a plain one arrived. Service was very slow. Originally we said no to poppadoms but because they took so long to take our order we ended up having some. I have massive concerns with how busy it was during covid 19 pandemic. Yes they have plastic sheets at the end of each table but the tables are very close. They have arrows for a one way system on the floor but not many customers and no staff were following these. The cleaning of tables between each sitting didn't seem very thorough.I appreciate it's a hard time for the industry but I would like to think places would be putting safety before money by reducing the numbers but this certainly wasn't the case here.

we love Namaste but to be honest very disappointed with their handling of seating etc during covid ,went on Wednesday and I did expect it to be busy because of Eat Out To Help Out ,curry was gorgeous as always but very disappointed with the fact that it appears not to have sacrificed any tables and the tables for 2 or extremely close to each other and just feel its missing the point of social distancing during covid.many of the waiters not wearing masks and when the table next to us (and I mean next to us !- doubtful it was even a metre ) was cleaned the little plastic screen which only protected the food and not the people didnt get a squirt of antibacteruial was just shoved back onto the end of the table.Far to busy with people queuing in passage to get in making it hard to get out without squeezing passed everyone.Been to lots of places since lock down ended and think this was by far the worst for the complete lack of social distancing and to be honest just felt as if it was see how many customers they get through at the cost of any kind of safety .Wont be going back any time soon which is a real shame .Think owner needs to take a long hard look at the social distancing rules and be prepared to make it a safe dining experience - we felt it just had been a bit greedy by still squashing as many covers as possible in and missing the entire point of government regs.

We have been many times for a sit down curry at namaste so decided to collect during this lockdown .You had to order it on WhatsApp which was great and pay contactless on collection so we did I ordered a king prawn vindaloo which was great many big king prawns nice hot sauce and a garlic naan bread which was nice but that's where it stopped I also ordered onion bahjis but didn't get them just the dipping sauce and 2 bags of salad with huge slices of orange in it.My partner ordered a chicken Biryani the sauce wasn't very tasty very greasy more like a korma sauce not a vegetable sauce and the rice was not nice also very greasy the rice not very nice big slices of orange (why) and not much chicken in it we ordered chips which were very soft and under cooked thought it would have been better than this well below average ,I messaged them back about missing bahjis I they apologised and would make it up next time I went there but that's not gonna happen very disappointed as was looking forward to it.

We order from here often, especially now we are still in the midst of this Pandemic so a takeaway is even more special!Restaurant quality food to take home is the speciality of Namaste. The awards they have won speak for themselves. The management are clearly excellent at what they do as are their team of highly-skilled staff that create this wonderful food. Fresh ingredients, delicate flavours and punchy spices all combining to offer an authentic Indian meal worthy of any table. Give them a try - I promise you it will be worth it.

We visited Namaste as part of a group of 25 people. The table layout was good considering there were so many of us. My wife and I had Saturday set meals at £15 each. They were very nice. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks. Great value for money. Would return!

Not always a good idea to convert a pup into a restaurant and try to combine the two. Noisy and cramped with no where for customers to wait if the table isn't ready - we were told to wait in the pup area which was very busy and uncomfortable. Dips were average at best with one resembling tasteless green Spanish Gold. Poppadoms were soft. Menu quite limited. We ordered four meals and were unable to determine which was which. Service a bit perfunctory. Prices seem reasonable.

Just home from a fantastic Christmas Day dinner at Namaste. It was my first visit to Namaste but it won't be the last. Lovely atmosphere, fabulous food and service was second to none. Thank you so much!

Have visited twice now for takeaways since it opened and it was excellent both times. The dishes have a unique flavour. The Lamb Madras is fab and the Dhal Thadukka starter is worth the trip alone. Top of the takeaway list from now on

A birthday treat was a visit to Namasti which used to be the Marquis of Granby.The décor is very smart,plenty of well situated tables.We sat near a spectacular chandelier! We were served very quickly by quiet and polite waiters.We nibbled poppadoms and and pickles and not wanting to waste a crumb asked for more of the dips.Each starter was attractive and tasty.Plates totally cleared.Our mains with light fluffy rice and breads were lovely,but, having not realised how filling the earlier courses were,we were able to take some home.£14.95 for an early meal.Great

everyone has different tastes and dietary requirements in our little group and this restaurant handles all requests really well - very professional - very knowledgeable and with a pleasant attitude - we highly recommend you give this place a try we know you will be delighted. lovely atmosphere and settings.

Not been in years and what an improvement ! Nice decor and very friendly staff with a great Atmosphere very busy , We had 3 starters that were very tasty and for main course 2 Lamb and a Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi for myself very tasty only complaint would be to much onion and tomato pieces in it , But the quality was superb and we all enjoyed our food and lively cold Moretti , back soon for another catch up !

Never ever again! Got my takeaway order wrong three times, I had to keep going back and waited for them to make another main dish and they still got it wrong but only found out after the journey home for the third time. I'm sure they were taking the p*ss! In the end I had to eat it as I had already injected my insulin. Worse curry ever and service was poor. I'm not one to complain but felt I needed to let others know how poor their food is. Pitty there wasn't a minus star as I would of given that in the rating.

I was taken here Because this was one of the best. First impressions were good. It’s nicely decorated and clean. The food was ok but I’ve had better and cheaper in South Shields.

Pleasant and clean setting with reasonably attentive waiters who at times were not monitoring the diners as well as they should when the restaurant was only half full on a Tuesday night.

Just enjoyed a convivial, tasty meal with the family at this very pleasant restaurant. Smart, efficient service and excellent food. We all ate well and had a relaxed evening. A good choice of food, prompt service and fair pricing.

Six of us came here last Saturday I don't think any of us will be hurrying back. I went to bar to order a drink and had to wait over 15 minutes to be served, even though there was no one else waiting, the barmen just completely ignored me until I had to say enough is enough I want serving now. Our table was booked for 7.30 but wasn't available until 8. The waiters mixed up our meals and one girl had only 2 small pieces of chicken in her Massala which was a disgrace, she commented on this to the waiter who gave her a takeaway meal which she didn't really want, a reduction on her meal might have been a better gesture, one of the other girls took the meal home for her husband but when they opened it they found it very greasy and inedible. Very disappointed with service and food there are better curry houses nearby.

This is undoubtedly the best indian meal you will ever get , everything is fresh and you can taste it,the service is second to none and the setting is great as well, definitely worth a visit.

You wouldn't go out of your way to go to Namaste but as a local curry house it's fine. The meal deal takes some liberties in describing itself as four courses but it's pretty good value nonetheless. Samosas were hot and fresh, the naan's light and fluffy and the chicken bhuna perfectly fine. Service friendly.

Fantastic service, Fantastic food, I would give it more stars if I could. I would not go anywhere else in South Shields again for a curry, outstanding.

Called in on a Thursday on speck but got seated straight away as mentioned in other reviews the decor is top drawer we never had a great deal to eat but what we did have was very good we excepted the offer of popadoms & pickles 90p each for the popadoms & £2.95 for the pickles we where given 4 then a king prawn Sri Lanka @£8.95 a chicken tikka madras @£7.95 with 1 rice to share 1 glass of wine & a j20 @ £4.95 & £2 yet first bill we got was for £42.45 then 3 more attempts before we got 1 @ £28 ? I left £32 I’d definitely go back for the food but make sure to check your bill for added drinks

This is a regular of ours the food is amazing and the staff are friendly and attentive. Nothing is a problem. This restaurant and bar is in south shields but we are looking forward to the opening of his new restaurant in Sunniside, Gateshead in a couple of month (previously marquis of granby). After walking through the door I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, clearly someone had spent time and thought things through. Though the "Prosecco lounge" is at odds with the restaurant and the TV blaring during our pre dinner drink was a bit bizarre. I know the bar maid may have wanted to watch it but we were trying to talk.

We have had many takeaways from here but tonight we decided to experience the restaurant itself. The food was incredible with ultra fresh ingredients and I now have a new favourite, nahm masala. The decor and ambiance are also spot on and as for the service, 2nd to none. Thanks to siy our waiter and all the other guys in there. We will be back.

Went for early evening treat, table booked for 5 30pm had a few drinks on two for one offer first. Meal came out quickly, all starters, main courses and nann breads delicious. Staff in bar and restaurant very pleasant. Will be back soon.

We booked a table for 6 people on the Tuesday for a meal on the Saturday evening in my husband's name, only to arrive on the Saturday and find that whoever took booking had failed to write it into the booking book.So had a half-hour wait while they sorted a table for us, but once again after visiting a few times now, the food was lovely and enjoyed buy all 6 of us.

We like to go midweek to take advantage of the specials but the meal somehow still came to £45 the food is nice but not when competitors offer food that is just as good for more than half the cost on ocean road.

This was a family visit on a Saturday night we had a table booked for 10 people for 8.30 arrived for a drink well before 8pm and told them we were there but we didn't get our table till after 9. 30 we had a lovely table in the window we ordered drinks and the waiter took our food order it took 20 mins for the first course to arrive and a further 40mins for the main course to arrive which I appreciate was a busy night but still think was a long time from arriving in plenty time for our meal thankfully the food was superb and well worth the wait will definitely be back but hopefully not have to wait as long to get in and for food, drinks prices were very reasonable and food wasn't to expensive either

This place is a little gem. The decor is lovely, the staff very friendly and the food excellent. We've been in a big family group and as a couple and just can't fault the place. The staff are very helpful, advising on the dishes and attentive during your visit. The food is great. Not one negative comment. Can't imagine going anywhere else for an Indian meal.

I have not been to Namaste , since the premises was occupied by the Naan, so a long time. Could believe the difference, we arrived at 7.30 pm on a Friday evening and the place buzzing, I cant remember the last time I was in a restaurant had such fantastic atmosphere.

We (my husband and I)visited Namaste as a couple this time,and again could not fault it, service/food/clenliness spot on.

Modern decorated restaurant. Pricey compared to others on Ocean Road in town centre. Not happy that it’s £1 for vegetable pilau rice rather than plain and you are forced to take a naan as part of the four course offering. Then you pay £1 for coffee and pay for your dessert. Not in the habit of ordering a naan and don’t see rice as a course. Very odd set menu.

Six of us booked here on recommendation,meal was ok have had much better at Seaburn.Each course was served quickly not allowing time for social conversation.One and a half hours later we were requested to leave the table.I have eaten in much better restaurants around the world and have always been given longer -2 1/2 hours for six people.Very disappointing,will not return,try Goa at Seaburn.

First visit to Namaste with our relatives from Australia.

Ate in this fabulous Indian Restaurant last Sunday night and the only word to describe the food is amazing. The prawn puri was filled with succulent spicy prawns with a fab sauce. It was presented beautifully. I had the lamb masala, dhall and keema rice it was so tasty. The waiters were very attentive. The restaurant Uber clean. All in all I wish I lived in Newcastle as it would be my local. Well done x

Please ensure you check your bill! We booked a table for 26 ppl who chose from the 12.95 menu. We paid for our drinks at the bar just to make it easier to pay. I can't fault the food at all it was fab! The service was fantastic and staff very friendly. At the end of the night we each paid our monies into the kitty and we were £67 short. After looking closely at the bill there was a lot of items added on. We knew it was an extra £1 for chicken tikka but that didn't justify the large amount missing. We queried the bill and asked what the £14 miscellaneous was and the drinks. After some complaining and explaining our bill was eventually put right. I know a few large groups who have dined there and they were over charged between £50 and £60 too on the same night. I have to say we won't be returning as we will be sticking to Ocean road restaurants where the menus are more easier to understand.

Lovely Indian restaurant, nice atmosphere with good staff. We choose from the 4 course special menu £12. Presentation was excellent. Starters pakora and veg samosa extremely tasty, lovely and fresh. Mains were excellent again tasty, fresh and piping hot. Everything was first class from start to finish. This will be my first choice for a lovely Indian from now on.

We recently visited Namaste for my 50th birthday. First the staff. Very hard working and very polite. Non intrusive, and dealt with our needs very well. The atmosphere is cosy and warm. Now the food, I can't say anything negative. It was outstanding. All five of us loved the curry's we had chosen which were flooded with flavour. Can't wait to return.

Formerly the White Ensign Pub but now the Namaste was a great find. As a lover of Indian food I was very, very surprised by the food. Plenty to choose from, very good prices (especially the Special 4 course meal at £12.95) and the decor/surroundings were all great. Another good sign was the number of people that left with 'doggy bags' which indicated that the meals were filling and too good to leave. My one and only gripe was that they had apparently added extra tables which made the place feel a little too cramped. My Balti was on par with my favourite restaurant that does the best in the North East - so that speaks volumes about the quality of the food. Parking wasn't too bad but that may have been good luck (considering the large housing estate near by). The staff were very friendly and efficient but we were presented with the bill without asking for it - maybe too efficient. All in all I would still give them 5 stars.

Visited on a Saturday night for family birthday as party of 7. Table not available until 8 although booked for 7.30. As others have said we were advised to go through to prosecco lounge for drinks. Felt a bit squashed for space at our table and ordered food which didnt arrive till nearly 9 so we were starving by then. Food was fine and service efficient from the many waiters. It all felt a bit busy and rushed, like organised chaos. Maybe better midweek. People were coming in to collect carryout orders all night as well which must impact on the kitchen and cause delays in restaurant meals. Maybe they trying to do too much at once??

Visited with eleven work colleagues from Sunderland on 23 August 2018. Our first visit following a recommendation. I recall the White Ensign pub many years ago, and what a transformation this is! A well appointed, spacious, comfortable and spotless restaurant with cosy adjacent prosecco bar. Absolutely top marks for the daily evening special menu choices (£9.95 for 4 courses including naan bread, with expert service, proper portions and attention to detail. We've visited many Indian restaurants together throughout the North East over the last three years, and this stands out. A vibrant atmosphere with other groups and couples in attendance. All of our starters and mains choices impressed. Well kept beer too! Absolutely faultless. The owner, Raz, an experienced restauranteur, clearly takes a pride in presentation, quality and reputation, rightly proud of the English Curry Awards North East Restaurant of the Year 2017. Perfect for any occasion. We shall return!

Called in with three friends and had a curry. All of us enjoyed the experience and will call back again.

Went to celebrate our anniversary. We are regular visitors here but it always seems to excel every time we visit. The food is always nice well recommended everything from the daily special up over. The staff are well presented,well mannered and are an asset to the business. Well recommended ad very reasonable.

We visited here for our Anniversary on the recommendations of friends. We enjoyed a glass of Prosecco before our meal in the adjoining lounge. Then went through to the restaurant for our meal. The staff are very friendly, attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. My husband commented that it was by far the best curry he had eaten. We enjoyed the starters and main course from the special menu. The food is spiced just right and the flavours are incredible, We enjoyed a cocktail after our meal in the lounge next door. We visited on a Wednesday night and the place was buzzing with people all night. We will definitely return for the food and the experience - again, the staff are amazing and always smiling. Thank you for a lovely night.

Came here on a Wednesday evening and tried the set menu for £10.95pp. It sounded like a good deal but if you wanted a flavoured rice & a flavoured nan bread, they were a £1 extra each, taking it up to £12.95pp. The glass of house wine was £5, and the lager was £4. So our bill came to £46 which I think is a bit strong for a mid-week treat. There are plenty other restaurants out there doing meal deals for around £30 which we will go to in future.

Invited here by my parents as a pre-meal before a local show and was pleasantly surprised. Geographically, and this may come as a shock to some hardcore Shields curry aficionados, it is not on Ocean Rd - but don't let that deter you. The place is spacious and well fitted out with an authentic feel and an array of Buddhas dotted around.

Lovely food and staff here. We enjoyed the 4 course at £10 consisting of mixed kebab starter, chicken dansak, pillau rice and nan bread. We also had poppadoms and pickles.

Visited with a party of 15 and was impressed by the decor. However that is where it ended as the food was bland and we had a mix up of orders. Not good at all but have decided after being here for takeaways previously that we won't return as standards have certainly dipped.

The food was certainly not bad but nothing special either, however what really spoilt our first visit was the over attentive and annoying staff. Sorry, they were pleasant but would not leave us alone and we felt rushed, the restaurant wasn't full to capacity either - also tried to take food before finished. Would not return in a hurry.

A very classy restaurant, refreshingly clean and up market decor, great service and delicious food. Well worth the visit. Will definitely be back to try more dishes from the refreshing new themed menu.

Was the 1st time I’ve came to this place and got to say we will be back, came to celebrate a special occasion and the staff were all really friendly and good with the kids. More importantly the food was amazing!

We booked a table for 10 for a family birthday, which we had to change very last-minute to include another guest which was no problem despite the place being extremely busy (Saturday evening). Shown to our table and drinks ordered. Good beers and wine selection kept everyone in our party happy. Food orders were taken when we were ready - always good to not feel rushed when dining in a large group. Food order was large & very varied yet was impeccably executed by the very professional, friendly & attentive staff. The food itself was outstanding, you could tell it was created using the finest ingredients available. We were able to dine at our lesiure and chat amongst ourselves which only emphasised the fine atmosphere on offer here. The management have struck a perfect balance of effortlessly combining a hectic service schedule without impacting on the guest experience in any way. The place runs like a well-oiled machine - fast, precise & perfectly. We all left feeling extremely satisfied and amazed at the value considering the very high quality. A jewel in South Tyneside's crown, as per my title - there is a reason that this place keeps winning awards. Long may it continue.

Placed a large order for take away and collected ourselves. The menu offered something for everyone and was very reasonably priced. Not only that but we were also given a bottle of wine with the take-away.

We visited last night (3rd april) for my dad's 50th birthday meal as a party or 7 adults and 2 small children. We were given a big booth in the window which looked across the restaurant. Staff were very friendly from walking in the restaurant we were very well looked after and food was amazing best I have had from an Indians..

Our first visit to this restaurant and was not disappointed the food was excellent the staff were very friendly and very accommodating will definitely be back and highly recommend them 10/10 . Julie

We booked as a party of 8 and were asked to pre order our food if we wanted the £10.95 special menu. They serve 2 for 1 drinks all night in the bar, but these are not available in the restaurant, although there is nothing to stop you walking from the restaurant to the bar and taking your drinks back in. They call it 4 courses for £10.95 but in reality it's 2 courses as you can't call rice and nan bread 2 courses. We have visited a few times and each time this place was packed, so pre booking is a safe option. Food was good and portion sizes qiute large, so all in all a good night out.

Went with a Sun FM voucher and was not disappointed. Poppadum's, Garlic mushroom on puri and Tikka chicken Dupiaza with rice were amazing. Best I've tasted! Hoping to come back soon.

Seem to be spoilt for choice for Indians in the area but tried Namaste on the back of buying a Sun FM voucher reduced to £10. Went on a cold, miserable Wednesday evening, had luckily pre-booked ... the place was really busy!

Got to say the chef is amazing, the staff however are rude and unaware of any promotions that may be running-as is the management. When they can’t explain their own promotion, they shout scream and bar you from the premises. Completely unprofessional.

Lovely restaurant and bar lounge. Went with friends for Birthday. Staff plentiful, helpful, friendly and meal was lovely. Well presented too. Definitely be going back.

My wife and I recently had occasion to visit this finest Indian cuisine restaurant. We certainly received a truly respectful and warm greeting by the staff as we were shown to our table which wouldn’t look out of place at an elegant wedding reception. We ordered our meals from the 4 course special menu (£10.95pp), however a full Al la Carte menu is also available. Staff were very polite, very courteous and professional. All courses were delivered promptly to our table, and the overall experience taking into account the decor, atmosphere and quality of food was outstanding. My wife and myself have dined at numerous Indian Restaurants locally and abroad and can safely say that this restaurant is without doubt the “The Jewel in the Crown”. It is not hard to see why the Namaste has been awarded the Best North East Restaurant 2017 by the English Curry Awards. My wife asked if she could have her Tikka Chicken well cooked and this was done to perfection for her, so much so, that the owner Raj named her the “Crispy Lady” ( due to the well cooked Tikka Chicken).

Booked for Valentines night. The place was well decorated and busy. Both of our meals were lovely. The staff were proficient and friendly. Well done Olly we will definitely be back!

A very tasty meal here for my cousins birthday. Most of my family had a set price special but I ordered a la Carte. My food was delicious. King prawns and sea bass very good. Salmon starter was a little dry sadly. Service certainly could have been faster but we were a large table. I’ll be back.

We came as a group of 14. The restaurant is very comfortable and very clean tables. The service was excellent but they did get a couple of meals wrong. They didn’t seem to want to exchange them for the correct order so we had to swap around to please everyone! This was the only let down. We would still return as the food was of great quality and the staff very pleasant.

Everything started out OK. Place seemed nice, Saturday night, busy, got seated quickly.

Visited on a very busy Saturday night. Waited around 15 minutes in the prosecco lounge for a table and then through to the restaurant, which again was packed!

The food was first class, the staff were first class, the decor is first class. Don't want to keep repeating myself but we couldn't fault Namaste and cannot wait to go again.

We were a party of 6 people out to celebrate a birthday.
