Kashmir Tandoori in South Tyneside

We had a dine-in at Kashmir Tandoori and loved the taste and service of the Kashmir Tandoori staff. The menu was having a lot of varieties which was really difficult to choose what to order but we left some more special dishes to try next time. This time we tried Balti Tikka Chicken Curry (Tasted was perfect but as we eat little more spicy so definitely will ask for some more spices next time), their special Tikka & Donner Nan Bab (it was new for us to eat here but we enjoyed), and in Tandoori, last but not least we tried Tikka Chicken, which was out class. Among all food, my partner really enjoyed the Tandoori Tikka Chicken, one of his favorite dishes of all the time. Finally we got a restaurant with a perfect taste. Definetly I could save its a value for money and enjoyed the taste of the food with a perfect dine-in space. Thanks

I have been coming to the Kashmir for as long as I can remember due to this being my Dads favourite restaurant/takeaway and now it is mine and my families too. We have ate in and we get takeaways on a regular basis. We have never tasted better anywhere else we have tried. The best staff. My Dad loved them all ❤️

Ordered from here tonight and oh my goodness what a mistake. We ordered a chicken tikka masala, garlic pilau, sheek kebab, naan bread & poppadoms. The curry sauce was crazy salty and tasted of vinegar, ive had the sauce from here before and know it's not sweet like most places which is what I liked about it previously but this was awful, the rice was hard, the poppadoms were stale and then the icing on the crappy cake there was a black hair in the mint sauce 🤢 all of this was nothing compared to the attitude from the staff member on the phone, I rang up to tell him about it and he was do RUDE, very confrontational he actually made me feel really angry and belittled. Absolutely no apology wouldn't take responsibility for it, said he wanted to test the hair to see who's it was. Initially I just wanted to sort it out with the restaurant and didn't want to leave a review but I couldn't believe the way he spoke to me. Horrible food and even worse service

Ordered the Tikka donner nanbab inedible and tasteless the Donner meat was like rubber and Tikka was just tiny little pieces,sauce was bland no taste to it,first time ordering here and will be last.

Popadoms dry and stale.. atleast cooked 2 days ago! Mint sauce tasted like yoghurt. About 2 prawns in the king prawn curry Chips were dry tasted warmed up off the night before Chicken tikka wrap was disgusting! Multiple hairs found in the starter Curry very watery Only nice thing was the taste of the curry sauce and the rice paid £40 for this order too🤮

Always consistent with a lovely flavoursome curry. Also does a nice staff curry if you order in advance.

I ordered tonight (I won’t say the door number) but I live in Canterbury street. The food was amazing. The chicken was so soft aswell as the beef. I will be ordering next week. Thanks for the amazing food.

I came here on eid with my whole family. We got chicken korma, beef vindaloo, chicken tikka balti, chicken tikka, bombay aloo and tharka daal. My family and i hadn't planned anything for eid as we were here on holiday so we has a spontaneous plan to go to a restraunt. We came from pakistan and we ourselves are used to authentic pakistani cuisine. We kinda expected a very westernised verison of the food we know and love but we're pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious. As if we got it form Pakistan itself. The beef was tender, curries were seasoned to perfection, the naan was perfect. 10 /10 service. I will say though the environment and overall setting of the resteaunt was underwhelming. The food made up for it. 10/10 will go again.

They must have a great takeaway business going, as on our numerous visits, we have only ever seen one lot of people eating in the restaurant. It is plain and simple inside and like an old style "Indian" restaurant. Having said that, the food is consistently good, very reasonably priced and really plentiful. The portions are very generous for the money and cooked to order. The food is always tasty but not too strong. If you like a bit of extra pep, like me, ask them to spice things up a bit. Lovely meal and looking forward to next time.

My partner and I love the food from here. We now regularly order a take away meal. The portions are very generous and the quality of the food is outstanding. The king prawns are huge and plentiful. The food is always hot and we rarely have to wait too long. Highly recommended.

Great Indian takeaway. In our opinion the best in South Shields. The curries are full of flavour. Delivery can be a bit slow on busy nights. But that's to be expected. We normally go and collect which is always a quicker option. We always get a good service. Good Size portions.

We are curry fans and have tried many other places but always seem to come back here. The portions are big, the food is very tasty and the manager is very friendly and polite. There is every kind of curry you could wish for and all at decent prices. I don't think the interior of the place is really designed for dining in,although there are 3 tables if you choose to, but I would thoroughly recommend their takeaways. Well definitely be back.

Hit & miss more and more often. Not the same as when I started ordering three years ago. Tonight: peshwari naan, poppadoms, rajita, and mushroom rice were nice. Bombay aloo slightly undercooked potatoes & as much as the sauce was nice & hot, the potatoes seemed as if they were added after. They had no spices absorbed in them from cooking. Madras Veg curry was awful. Good job it was just me & not sharing with anyone this time such disappointment. Someone added water after it was cooked, as pictured (in reality also more yellow), you can see it splitting from the rest when it was left on the side while i was eating, not incorporated. Just cauliflower & carrots. Two veg, bot blunt in nature, so need to absorb flavours whilst cooking. It had no usual taste or colour of madras. Before I saw the water split, I could tell it was diluted after cooking. I often cook so I could tell which part was spoiled and I could taste mostly the water, but very little spice. When you spend £17 you don't want to pay for meal that jas less flavour than veg stock cube. Won't risk again & not when family & friends are round. Shame. Used to be top quality.

Nothing fresh here. Old chips, old poppadoms. Normally do curry centre but temporarily shut. Won't make that mistake twice. Shambles of a curry. Anyone who gives this a decent rating must have never tried elsewhere. Waste of money.

We ordered 2 different currys and both tasted the same with a bitter after taste, most of it was binned. Chips left a lot to be desired, like they were left from the day before. We are both I'll today.

I took takeaways from here, The manager is very cordial and you can ask him to add or remove spice as required most of the times. Very accommodating with excellent taste.

I've had curries from the Kashmir for years. Definitely the best in Shields. Always good portions and the meat is always so nice and tender...even the chips are delicious! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Unreal curry, easily nicest I've had in shields - loads of chicken and so soft and nicely cooked, really fell apart perfectly - best price I've known too on the £11-13 special deals and speedy service. Definitely won't go elsewhere, this is 10x better than anywhere I've been on Ocean road.

Got a delivery . The Korma had no coconut taste . Chips were dry and the onion bhaji were burnt . The samosas were too spicy for my daughter. There was hardly any cheese in the cheese naan bread . Not a great experience . Wouldn't recommend this to anyone .

This is the best curry house in South Shields , forget the entire of ocean road , the food here is delicious and curry’s are actual curry’s ! , full of spices and tender meat . Everywhere else seems to be a plate full of bland oniony water and tough chicken . even the rice is decent and plenty of it .inside is nice and clean and I quite like the simplicity of the decor .

Best curry ever. We decided to try Kashmir after our usual curry place was closed, we were so glad our usual was closed because we thoroughly enjoyed our food, Kashmir will now be our new go to place for curry. We would highly recommend to anyone. Very tasty food, big portion sizes, quick delivery and good prices. We will definitely be back.

We have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. There is an excellent choice of food available and it is always plentiful and tasty. The portions of rice are enormous and if you don't have a large appetite, one portion would be enough for two people. We ordered two different curries, two rice's and a naan and you get a starter free, so we went for onion bhaji's. The food was delicious.

Last week to celebrate our new jobs, my friend and I went for a sit down meal, instead of a take away. It's definitely the best curry in South Shields, so tasty and great value, they don't sell alcohol so we got cans of gin and tonic from lidl. Staff are friendly aswell. What more could you want

Lovely, garlic pilau was made correctly (one place I went it tasted purely of turmeric and had minimal garlic) the Bhuna is garnished well and is very balanced in flavour, everything is non oily and what oil is there is fresh.

It's the only one I go to now, used to get it from ocean Road but someone recommended it and I've not been anywhere else, the food is amazing and the price is very good 👌, highly recommended

Last night ordered 3 different Curry's from Kashmir tandoori. Mild curry , Roghan and mossalla all with tender chicken breast. Mushroom pilau, vegetable pilau with poppadoms . It's been a very long time since I've ordered a curry and all them years ago and it's still scrumptious food . We all enjoyed our food . Thank you.🌟

Hello reviewers So today I ordered from Kashmir Tandoori I ordered l: Popadoms Mint, Mango Chutney, onions Nan bab Chicken tikka masala Mushroom rice I genuinely can’t say in liked any of the food 1. The popadoms were stale definitely cooked yesterday at least. 2. Mint dip had next to no taste just like a yoghurt. 3. Nan bab tasteless, best part of any was the bread. 4. Chicken tikka masala was not sweet as it should be. 5. Mushroom rice was over cooked and not pleasant to eat. We only went here because for some reason kismet was closed for some unknown reason. Wasted £28 of my money!

I was surprised to find that this restaurant was unlisted on TripAdvisor, considering that it has been established for 34 years. I would suppose it would be classed as off the beaten track, being down an old street, in the Laygate area of South Shields. We called in to get some food to take home on the way back from the theatre. The restaurant is compact and fairly plain and simple but don't be put off by that, as the food is delicious. The menu is equally no frills. There are no fancy chef's specials. There are all the main curries from Korma to Phall, with everything in between and what you get is good, honest, tasty food and plenty of it. Their prices are also very reasonable. Well worth a try. It is fully licensed and there are parking bays across the street.

Tried the Kashmir for the first time tonight and wasn't disappointed, excellent starter, brilliant curry, fabulous rice, awesome side dish and fantastic Naan. Need i say more. This will be my new regular indian takeaway. Oh, and extremely good service and value for money. Well done kashmir!!

Called here late on with friends never been before and I gave to say it was delicious, friendly staff and good value, will definitely recommend and will be back.

This might seem unfair as I’ve never eaten there but the exterior is the pits and I wouldn’t eat there on the strength of that. You only get one chance of a first impression

I found multiple bits of egg shell in my food, along with a disgusting sludgey texture. Possible food poisoning case. Used to always be loyal to Kasmir and their lovely curries. But their total disregard for food hygiene and the mere pathetic apology I got on the phone after my discovery is not even worthy of another visit. Terrible management and for now, terrible food. 😷😷

Will only use this curry house in Shields. Always spot on and very pleasant owner.
