Came into the nags for a few pints and was welcomed by Jack and Darcey. Amazing and quick service. Will definitely be back!

Went on a Monday for a treat to have tea with my partner. The food was ok, ordered a mixed grill - the steak was ordered medium rare but was served rare (I didn't mind too much). Other elements were ok, chicken was probably the best part. The fried egg was overcooked, hard and not runny which was really poor. I spoke to the manager at the bar who wanted to take the egg off my plate tableside to show the kitchen - I then waited nearly 10 mins for the new egg, by this time I had nearly finished my meal! Also not the nicest experience having to pass back parts of your meal to go back to the kitchen whilst you are eating. There was no apology from the manager or staff which was upsetting. I used to work in hospitality, and if a fried egg was sent out overdone, or there are any clear issues with a meal, a sorry to the customer would just be an automatic reaction? I felt like an inconvenience even though a basic part of the meal I paid for was wrong. Bit of a shame as I've been before and had a few nice meals. I'm not sure if I caught them on an off day but I felt service was quite unwelcoming and cold even before the issues with the meal. Was really looking forward to taking my partner out for a surprise tonight so again really dissapointing experience.

Fantastic service from Jack and Darcey very welcoming very friendly. Highly recommended this pub as the staff are lovely and the food is always great.

27/01/2025 Visited the Nags Head in Thornton this morning before I went to my friends funeral paid £3.49 for a cappuccino, the girl behind bar gave me mug and said its self service you male it yourself, it didn't even fill half of the mug I got about three mouthfuls will never visit again

The Nags has been my local for years and I've never had a problem. The staff have always been giving a good service, but this week in particular was great. The food was delicious, and so were the cocktails I had. Louis and Ellie at the bar both gave a warm welcome not long after I came in. They both remembered my earlier drinks order and were quick to make it again. At the table, I was looked after well by Hallie, who was very polite and helped me with choosing a meal from the new menu (I haven't been in a while). All in all a great visit. I would recommend the Nags to anyone. It's a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The quiz nights are fun too!

I have been to the nags a few times now and each time the service has been great and food enjoyable. Our server Hallie has always been polite, helpful and extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend for both food and drinks Will be back soon :)

Great night with the Karaoke and John putting on a great night for everyone and as always, Mandy running round sorting everything out - glasses picked up, drinks brought over, plates taken - you name it, she’s there!

Booked a Christmas meal for our family including 2 small children. Arrived at 2pm (as booked) to be told there was a 15-20 minute wait whilst they sorted our table out. We were told to grab a drink at the bar while we waited although there was nowhere to sit and I explained we had children, which the member of staff said nothing and walked away. We were then seated at our table near the bar which was busy and incredibly noisy. It was as though they wanted to seat as many people as possible for Christmas Day with no consideration of how noisy it would be. Our table was also wobbly and we couldn’t sit at it. We asked to move and after some push back from the staff member, we were offered a table in a quieter area but it was a high table. The food was also disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend coming here for Christmas Day or ever.

Ordered full English breakfast came after a long wait, no sausage, egg was under cooked, toast was burnt and the bacon was greasy. Asked the girl 2 times for the missing sausage, when it did eventually come I'd eaten most of the breakfast and it was under cooked. We won't be eating here again, clearly very short staffed!

Come in with my partner and baby staff was more than helpful with providing a high chair and colours for the little one really enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to go back! Shout out to Mandy and Ellie!

Lovely visit to the nags head for a Christmas eve get together with family! Huge thank you to Ellie and her team for looking after us so well today, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and service outstanding despite it being a really busy day, we felt really welcome and the little ones were well catered too and made a fuss of with plenty of colouring, christmas crackers and even given little teddies as a christmas gift which was a lovely gesture. We can't wait to visit again in the new year!

I reserved a table a week previous for a large group for my birthday. Due to it being over the Christmas period it was chocker, tables hadn't been cleaned just yet but as soon as we arrived at the reserved seating they cleaned it pretty fast, ready for us to sit down. Food was delicious and hot. Considering how busy they were we weren't waiting long for the food to be presented to us after ordering. Was an enjoyable experience and would likely go again for a celebration or just for a treat.

Food was burned and gammon was swimming in grease on my plate and charging for drinks that we did even have and when we question them on it it took them about 20mins to sort it out and no one checked to see if our meal was OK

Jane, Mandy & all staff, hosted Motown tribute act. Absolutely fantastic food & entertainment. great service from all staff, would 100% recommend day out with the tribute acts. Always service with a smile.

Breakfast with Santa for 5 adults and 4 children. Food was tasty and served hot. Entertainment was very good, the children had a lovely time meeting Santa and interacting with the Entertainer.

9 of us went for the Jersey boys Tribute Act snd meal and everyone loved it. What can I say - thank you Jane and staff for these fabulous afternoons next one is Monday 16th and I will be there too. The food was lovely, tasty & hot and a good choice for a set menu. My friend is vegetarian and hers was lovely too. Thanks to Mandy for her cheerful, good service and to the other staff for their fabulously quick service too

Was served by a lovely older lady with amazing strawberry blond hair called Mandy, she made the visit really worthwhile and I fell in love as soon soon as I seen her. She even provided table service so my lazy arse didn't have to get up but talking about arse she had a great one thanks Mandy your the best

Went to the Nags Head on 6th December for tea. All staff were lovely, especially Mandy, who looked after us so well and nothing was ever a problem. Food was lovely too!

The service was good . There is no sense of humor. Food was alright . Cheer up folks it's not that big of a deal

Last couple of visits in the last couple of weeks, not enough staff on very hard to get served so walked out to the pub down the road .

Food great. Bar staff very friendly. Only problem I had was when I asked for a glass of fresh orange. It was a weird colour and tasted disgusting - metallically. My friend said the same. What a waste of money.

Either making a phone order or going into the eatery either to order or eat in is a pleasure. Because the staff are very sincere . In helping you around the venue. Making your task a whole lot easier as to what is customised to your tastes. Plus they Will if possible give you a replacement b of an item you do not want on the set menus. The big bonus is for the price of the food you get. It is far superior in taste and quality compared to their competitive entries in the same area of Waterloo Liverpool. Where Henry's is located. I have been going here for many years. Am 106 Edge.... ..... Try this outfit.. You will be pleasantly surprised. Cost gives you good value for your money.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Nags Head, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with just the right blend of cozy charm and lively energy. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel like old friends. The food was exceptional — each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. (My personal favourite was the quadzilla burger meal and if you like burgers is definitely worth a go) I ordered the fish and chips, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had, with perfectly crispy batter and tender, flaky fish. My brother had the steak, which was cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were fresh and flavorful. One of the standout features here is the variety on the menu; there’s something for everyone, from traditional pub classics to more refined dishes. And of course, the drink selection is fantastic, with an impressive range of ales, wines, and cocktails that make it easy to find the perfect pairing for your meal. The Nags Head really does have it all — great food, great drinks, and a fantastic team who make you feel right at home. Nice little pub can’t rate the food as I never ate but from what I could see coming out the Kitchen it looked nice. Drinks are priced ok £6.50 for a double with mixer.

Pleasant enough. Food above average.

We visited on Sunday and had 4 adult roast dinners and 2 childs ones, the food came out about 5 mins after we ordered... the meat & Yorkshire puddings were good but all the veg was either cold or hard. We went on to order dessert, the cheesecake was lovely but the crumble wasn't very good at all. All the staff were friendly & welcoming. The place was a bit dirty & we could see lots of cobwebs around. I had to clean the cutlery before we used it.

Food was very good, although the horseshoe doughnut was hard, as if it had not been properly defrosted, This, we think, also affected the service as it took much longer for the desserts to arrive than the mains. We did have one member of the party spill a drink, a staff member went for a cloth and we never saw him again... Atmosphere was great, even with the football on the TV!

We were looked after really well. I have enjoyed steak here so many times but was slightly disappointed tonight but they rectified by offering us a free pudding.

Visited for a late lunch over the weekend - great food and speedy service. 49 pound for 3 main meals and 3 drinks so reasonably priced and portions are great. Great outside area for kids and lovely interiors inside. Only drop in mark was due to outside tables not being cleared around us the time we were visiting when there were plenty of staff on shift. Will return!

Had a lovely day for my late father’s 100th birthday. Excellent. Wonderful staff went above and beyond for a booking of 44 of us. Great service, food was delicious and we didn’t wait long at all. My dad would have loved it. Thank you so much for such a great day xxx

Meal was o.k. but the site had poor ambience for a meal. Would be better if there was proper table sevice instead of having to do things yourself. Also it would be better if the dining area was separate from the drinking area. On the whole it was disappointing. Certainly not the location for a special meal. Would not re-visit.

Manageress not welcoming or hospitable. Birthday celebrations were not enjoyed. Large party of us friends were ushered outside ...out of the way !!! Because we could of taken tables up that were ordering food ...bare in mind we arrived at 8.30pm n food kitchen closed at 9pm?? Lots of empty spaces!!! Very rude and non friendly manageress.

Ellie was fantastic as always wonderful service and always a loving smile meets you when you walk in, best duty manager I have come across in Hungry horse for sometime, well done 10/10

Super evening with great food and amazing service from louis who is a credit to the company

First visit. Food took about 20 mins to arrive . Ordered smoking jack burger which was good . And lamb kofta flat bread and salt pepper fries. Food arrived but waited 10 mins for fries to arrived by this time flat bread was cold . Second visit ordered same again as it was tasty last time .waited at least 30 mins for food .pub was busy as its next to the crem and few diners were from funerals .and only two staff and a waitress . Food was hot . But flat bread had turned into little wraps. One was so miss shaped it was hard to roll food up in it . 15 mins and still no fries . Went told waitress who went in kitchen waited another 10 mins for fries but they weren't they were chips . No sorry from waitress. No communication about either late fries or lack of flat bread . Wont be returning .

Waited for nearly an hour for a chocolate brownie dessert for my 3 year old daughter, which one of the staff knew about. After a long wait we decided to give up and cancel the brownie even though we'd pay for it and got nothing.

Like most of the pubs on UK, it has great atmosphere.

We had a Celebration of Life for my aunt recently and the staff went out of their way to make it a very memorable event. I cannot thank them enough for the hospitality and special assistance we needed with the use of their tv and extension cord. Definitely pleased we had it there, and thank you to all the staff! We always come each week for the quiz and the staff are amazing. Mandy is an absolute gem and always brings are drinks to us and has a laugh. Most definitely recommend coming for the quiz, food and atmosphere!

Had the best time for my husbands 40th today, all the staff were amazing especially Mandy who nothing was too much trouble for. She even provided candles for my husbands cake. There was 19 of us all together and her service was the best. The food was gorgeous and we all had the best day.

Was a very busy day, most likely due to the weather and the staff were doing their best. Unfortunately the lack of staff this day effected the service. Big queues for food and drinks, but we used the app to order which helped, but had to wait until I'd eaten half my food for the drinks arrived. Also our dessert never arrived even after asking and after 45 mins we gave up. Not usually the story here, as the service is quite good. I did feel for the staff who were trying their best. We will still return as this was one off and the quality of food is great for the price you pay.

Quality and quantity of the food is excellent and very good value for money. Very affordable food and alcoholic drinks. We would definitely go back there more often. Lovely friendly staff too and service is very quick also.

My husband asked for husband steak well done,it came medium and pink. They took.it back and brought him another one which was very tough.Also the food came very quickly which tells me most things are standing there waiting to be reheated eg my jacket potatoe.Dont think I would return. Staff were very nice though.

Overall nice little place. However, not nice if you just a party of 2. The tables are meant for 5+ they are huge. Waited a while for the food. Paid extra for the salt pepper chips. Felt like they were covered in some weird flavoured flour. Not salt and Pepper. Chicken burger was more breaded than chicken. The jacks burger looked like slapped together. More sauce falling out than in the burger. Wouldn't come back here.

Always greeted by friendly staff, the staff always go above and beyond. The atmosphere is always what you expect, fantastic and they serve great hot food.

The staff were so pleasant. Seemed so pleased to see us. Adapted the menu for one of our allergies. We're thoughtful throughout our visit. June was full of apologies for the wait because they were so busy. The food was delicious & good value. Jane & Jordan in the kitchen were so kind adapting the menu & making sure everything was OK. We had a lovely visit.
