Place to meet your friends for a few drinks. Usually closes around 2:30. Good music! Always a fun night. Prices are reasonable. There’s an outside and indoor area.

Tucked away down a side alley, and looking very anonymous from the outside, we almost missed stopping here. Really pleased we did find it though as proved an excellent stop for lunch. Food was freshly prepared, and cooked just right. Coffee was as good as anywhere recently. Staff were very friendly, and, after a pair of the best poached eggs I've eaten in a while, the cook gave me some very useful tips which I'm hoping will improve my own! We weren't the only ones listening in! A great stopover after a beautiful morning on the dunes.

Popped in for a snack and coffee. Really enjoyed the snack of Black Pudding presented in an excellent and unusual way. Very friendly staff and I enjoyed viewing the pictures on the walls painted by local painters.

Wife and I ate here for dinner twice mid week. Reservation made, however not busy. Sat in the courtyard area which was very nice, roomy and cool [Franschhoek had been experiencing temp highs of 40* C that week]. Service and food excellent. We had Calamari starters and Bibotie and Springbok mains. Nothing fancy. Would recommend.

A friend and I decided to have our breakfast here for a change. It proved to be a really good decision. The service was very pleasant, quick and, most importantly, it was all cooked fresh. Strongly recommended.

I visited this cafe many moons ago and remembered it being tucked away down a side street along the main high street. I wanted to visit again and I wasn’t disappointed. The young man serving was very polite and couldn’t do enough. I wanted something that wasn’t quite on the menu and the chef obliged with no hesitation. The fries we had with our meal are the nicest I have tasted in a long time. The staff are very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be sure to visit again next time we are in Formby.

Walking home from work and stumbled on cafe de Arte Situated just off chapel lane in formby ! We ordered flat bread with a beautiful bottle of 2013 Rioja at just 25.00 for two flat breads and the bottle of wine !!! We got chatting and found out this place is under new management ! i Would recommend you give this little gem a try we’ll worth a visit

I recently visited Cafe D’art with friends for a birthday meal and couldn’t say a bad word about the place. The food was amazing all freshly cooked, we ordered tapas (small plates), my favorite was the calamari it was cooked perfect. There was so much choice on the menu and found the prices very reasonable. The staff couldn’t do enough for us & we’re so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone.

Recently visited cafe D’art for a catch up with friends, very impressed with food ( especially the prawns) we ordered a selection of tapas style dishes, all delicious. great atmosphere and very welcoming attentive staff, I will definitely be going back. The freshly baked, vegan friendly banana loaf and coffee went down a treat.

Im in Formby village often & had never stepped in to this quant little place. I always prefer independently run eateries / coffee spots rather than over priced chains like Costa etc. They offer much more charm & Ambience. If you’re a lover of Art like myself you’ll find this place to be a treat. It has a very inviting atmosphere the staff are friendly &very attentive! I chose to have a with Chicken & Halloumi wrap with salad, not only was it very tasty but the presentation was lovely too. This place is going my new favourite place to Lunch in the village. I did spot some delicious cakes there too, which I intend to try next time .

Visited today with friends. Staff very efficient and helpful. We. All ordered different dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. The chef brought them out and you could tell they where a freshly prepared and he took pride in presentation. Home made chips yummy!!

We visited our favourite cafe in Formby as a special treat for anniversary. Beautiful food as always served by very friendly staff. Highly recommended and fully licensed if you fancy a tipple xxx

Fabulous food, great value for money and very friendly service. Came for lunch but happy to stay all day if I could, the atmosphere is relaxed whilst you sit amongst the beautiful wall marked art. The nights come alive in this hidden gem but for now I’ll sip my prosecco and look forward to my next visit💕

Called in on Saturday to try the new breakfast menu as we’d seen in on Facebook. Decided to go for the mega breakfast as I was starving. It was massive! Really well cooked and a bargain price of £9.95. Will be visiting every Saturday now.

Called here mid morning for the first time. We were greeted by a friendly young man who made us feel very welcome. Extensive menu with daily specials available. I had the vegetable chowder and Mum had the poached egg with black pudding and hash browns. Absolutely perfect and served with a smile. A bonus was the price , very reasonable for such lovely food. We will definitely call again

What a great little cafe with a BIG heart. The food was really tasty and nice and clean. My husband had the breakfast and said it made a change not having to wipe grease off some breakfast items. I had the Boar and Chritzo burger and it was delicious. I don't usually have desserts but the cakes were to good miss out on. Mrs Dawson's ice cream completed the cakes superbly. I suggested I would work their and be paid in food lol. The staff were really friendly and attentive and not in the least bit false. Thank you Elli,Caitlin,Katrina and the excellent chef Pav. We look forward to visiting your great establishment again.

We have called in here for a few Bacon and Sausage sandwiches, it's great when you fancy popping out for breakfast or can't be bothered to cook one. Always tasty and freshly cooked to order.

Lovely little Cafe Bar serving a wide selection of meals. The specials are amazing, have visited a couple of times of the lat month, and each one is delicious. Highly recommended!!!

Somewhere for a hot drink and a bite to eat on a wet January day. Service okay, food choices more calories than interest. Reasonable soup with naff roll and okay BLT. Pot of tea was good and staff happy to top up with hot water.

An independent cafe just off the main shopping street. Watch out for it as there is no signage to announce its presence.The cafe could do with a little updating, it's not chic enough to be shabby chic, the fixtures are just functional but a bit tatty.Food and service was good enough but we were not convinced that the crepes were "freshly-made". They were still very tasty.

L shaped bar / conservatory functioning as cafe in day and bar by night. Tucked away down a side alley in the centre of formby. Let's be positive the coffee was good, but that's where it stops. The quiche and chips was grim. Odd mixture of chicken mushroom and spinach, greasy and rubbery with a grey appearance when cut. Chips too were greasy and even the Diet Coke tasted as if the line was contaminated. I would recommend this place for coffee but avoid the food.

Came 3 days on the run because the food was so good and cost less than parking (which they refund anyway!) This will make my Christmas shopping so much more enjoyable! Had 2 specials because they were so yummy! Gushing because it was so good. My friends family and I will be back! Gourmet food at cafe prices! Next time I'm trying the crepes! Thank you.

Passing through Formby village looking for something to eat, walked past my favourite little cafe and noticed their new specials board.Popped in and was greeted by their new head chef Pav.Decided to go for the marinated chicken with hunters cabbage with potato wedges and chorizo, what a combo!It was absolutely delicious, highly recommended!

I was out for my friends birthday and i asked the barmaid a polite question about using the plug socket and her response was 'whatever' and she shrugged her shoulders. Her customer service skills were very bad the night i went into the bar and didn't appreciate the way i was spoken too.

quick breakfast on a Monday morning, we have walked past a few times but didn't realize they did breakfast, so popped in as I really fancied a bacon butty.only myself and my wife when we walked in, sat at one of the bench tables and after 5 minutes or so someone came to take our orders, I went for the meat barmcake, sausage bacon and black pudding, it was nice, nothing spectacular, the flat white I ordered was possibly a cappuccino, but was nice and hot and strong too. my wife had the bacon butty i fancied, and her latte was fine, again nothing spectacular.my big gripe is that there is simply nothing worse than going to the toilet and seeing that someone hasn't used the loo brush after them, this may sound like a small thing, but this was early on a Monday morning, so either the cleaner hadn't been in yet, or they don't employ one?, but to make matters worse there wasn't even a brush there for anyone to use even if they wanted to, like I said, possibly a minor gripe but it really does put me off and it gives the impression that a simple thing like a loo brush isn't important.

Love it here... The ambience is relaxed and friendly, great choice of decor - love the flower painted windowsill! The food is very reasonably priced for the portions you get.. Great for breakfast and lunches.. Have had and can recommend scrambled eggs on toast / eggs Benedict and steak and onion baguette.. However their work of art is certainly the crepes... Tried the banana and toffee and strawberry and Nutella.. Oh my word... Heaven!! Will be making this a regular haunt!! It's also open for drinks til approx 1/2am and great selection of beverages.

Visited my favourite little cafe this morning with my relatives visiting from Ireland.Our party of eight was looked after by the very attentive staff.Nothing was too much trouble, the food was amazing, off to the beach to walk it off!!!!

Visited this place a few times, always seems to improve every time. I regularly visit with my elderly mother, the girls who work here are always great with her, helpful and very patient ! There's been a few times we've visited when it's been busy but they've always been able to cater for are special needs never the less . My mum absolutely loves to try the home made cakes even though she can never finish a slice ;D, the hot chocolates are to die for including all the toppings of course ! We are still yet to try from the newly changed food menu but everything looks delicious. Can't recommend enough !

Me and my family like to stop off here regularly now ,for some lunch since stumbling upon this little quirky cafe! Staff are always very helpful , reasonably priced food , great range of drinks and a large variety to choose from what else could you want ? Of course the variety of cakes which are all to die for , as I've had the chance to try them all now! Would definitely recommend the home made quiche and soup always delicious and never fail to disappoint. Staff always manage to fit in all 7 of us , they are kind enough to rearrange furniture and a great help. Look forward to our next visit and trying out the prosecco on tap!

My Mate showed me to this little cafe as its out of the way. Glad we found it there was nothing better than tucking in to a cafe d'art big breakfast great value for money. Staff are a great help wouldn't of tried the breakfast if one of the waitresses hadn't recommended it. Couldn't believe I'd never found this place before as I'm quite in to trying out new breakfasts ! We visit now regularly and the staff are always helpful food has never disappointed , might wait a while some times but defiantly worth the wait ! Look forward to visiting again.

No one bothered to acknowledge us walking in and sitting ourselves down. We waited about 10 mins until they came over, which to be honest wasn't great but we'd picked our meals. Went for lunch so one sandwich and two wraps. Drinks were a juice, coffee and a wine/soda. Juice came. 10 mins later, coffee came. 10 mins later, no wine soda. I had to go to them to ask where it was, as they weren't bothering to tell people the soda pump was off?! So had just a wine. Would've been rectified a lot quicker if they'd just been honest rather than take the order knowing id be waiting for over 20 minutes for a drink?! Rude staff, girls behind the bar on their phones. 2 meals came together then another meal about 15 mins later, no apology for the delay or warning. Won't be returning in a hurry. Been here a few times and it's been nice, but it's definitely slipping, the staff don't have any customer service skills, just care about their tips and their mobiles. Also don't get a Coke here, they rip you off with Rola cola and if you're like me, you won't be able to drink that s***, tastes awful, left a full glass there but got charged a Coke price! Awful!

4 of us went for a late breakfast. 1 eggs Benedict, 1 poached egg on toast, 1 veggie breakfast and 1 full English. It took 45 mins from ordering to service. I found this unacceptable given it was not busy at all. No one came to explain why or what the problem was

Great little place for all of your breakfast needs! Visited on a post Christmas service which, while service was a little slower than expected, matched everything we wanted. Reasonably priced with friendly staff.

Visited today for the first time in a few months , glad to see there has been a huge refurbishment which has done the cafe the world of good. The bar was full of delicious looking homemade cakes when we first walked in which won me over instantly. We took our seats and within seconds were greeted by a very pleasant and smiley waitress presenting us with menus, we ordered our drinks and were given a few minutes to look at the food menu this took longer than we expected as there was such a large variety ! Upon receiving our drinks we were still indecisive of what to order , with a few suggestions from the waitress I decided I would try the halloumi and Cous Cous and and my wife the bacon Brie and cranberry panini, of course with a bowl of chips between us also! Even though the cafe was full of people also eating we didn't wait long for our food the waitress who served us was very helpful and waited on us hand and foot very well taking in to consideration they were short staffed ! After our delicious meals we took two pieces of cake away with us lemon sponge and coffee and walnut. Would definitely recommend this cafe to everyone staff are friendly and helpful , food is scrumptious and the music played makes it such a nice environment ! Brilliant place.

We visited the cafe regularly before the refurbishment but due to work commitments we haven't been able to go back as much. We all met up recently and decided to visit here, as usual the food was delightful and the staff who are very smiley were a great help suggesting meals for us and waiting on us hand and foot. There was 6 of us so it was awkward for us to all fit in at a booth. With the help of the staff we were all able to fit they re arranged the tables for us which was a great help. The food was served quickly as were ours drinks which were also very nicely presented on little saucers. We were all very pleased with the food there was lots to choose from on the menu including halloumi and cous cous, a build your own burger, soup and a sandwich, steak and red onion baguette and a home made quiche with chips or salad. This little cafe is great value for money sometimes you might wait a little longer for the food but its always worth the wait can't recommend enough !! will definitely get back in to a routine of visiting regularly.

I visited this Cafe for lunch recently and was extremely impressed. Our order was taken promptly by the friendly and welcoming waitress. The food arrived in good time and was delicious,as well as being very reasonably priced! The decor and ambiance is lovely, and overall it was a very pleasant place to visit.

Came here not knowing the area very well came across this small cafe as i was coming out of the car park, was very impressed with the service as it was excellent and the food was really nice and well presented, such good value for money as it is so cheap! The waitress and staff were also very polite and helpful!, and i did not have to wait long at all for the food, such a good family friendly place to eat as i had my two twins with me!

After shopping round the village with my son we stopped off here for something to eat, tucked away next to Iceland but a lovely little cafe. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable tending to us straight away, the music added to the atmosphere and the artwork hanging on the walls was a nice change from other local cafes. Upon looking at the menu there was a large variety to choose from the prices all reasonable too both on the food and drinks menu ! We ordered our drinks first which were served quickly my son getting a Oreo milkshake in a very tall glass topped with squirty cream, very expensive looking ! I got a standard americano served with warm milk on the side In a very dainty jug, it was served with a little biscuit an sugars on the saucer. I was a bit apprehensive of the food as it was cheap. My son got the big breakfast definitely worth the money, lovely quality breakfast with everything you'd expect ! I tried the soup and a sandwich deal also cheap prices and delicious ! The soup was my favourite broccoli and Stilton served with a lovely cheese and pickle sandwich and a warm smile. On our way to pay we noticed the delicious home made cakes ! We took a piece home for my mum a lovely lemon sponge her favourite she was made up! I just can't fault this cafe from the food , service to the staff it was all great would definitely recommend to anyone will be going back to revisit soon !

I found this cafe through the reviews on Trip Advisor. If I had just gone to Formby I would probably of gone in Costa on the Main Street however I am so glad I didn't. This cafe is hidden away down an alley but was popular with locals nevertheless. I loved the variety of artwork on the walls. I had a lovely latte and an average cheese on toast but my husband had a fantastic sausage and egg bap which he raved about. Great to be able to read the newspapers leisurely. The staff were welcoming and efficient. The cakes looked lovely so we will be back.

We called into Café D,Art last week and found it very over-rated. We ordered 2 coffees which we had to wait for especially as there were only 2 other people in the place. We asked to look at the food menu which we found rather expensive so we did,nt bother. The staff were good but the ambience left a lot to be desired.

Haven't been here for a few years, massive changes for the good. Staff friendly (especially with my elderly mum), coffee great, lots of choice on the lunch menu and the cakes are fab. Stayed behind for a cheeky wine outside the back in the garden too! Great to have somewhere other than the norm to go to.

Good cappuccino, nice cakes, friendly staff and comfortable setting and ambience. Quite good value too. Good to support local enterprise instead those 'international' chains!

I frequently go here with my wife and the only disappointing thing is that it's closed for 2 weeks! Food is always spot on, staff are always friendly and helpful and we're looking forward to a bit more sun so we can sit outside with some wine. We've tried a few places in the village for breakfast and I can honestly say that Cafe D'Art is the best. You may have to wait a little longer but it always comes out fresh and delicious. Looking forward to seeing what the guys do with the place.

Visited today and waited far too long for a very simple order. When we politely asked why other people (who had arrived after us) had received their food first we were told that the food isn't cooked in any particular order! Staff rude and incompetent I wouldn't waste your money when there are much nicer places to eat in the village.

Visited her last week and shocked that we were the only people in, as previous visits it was always busy and the food was usual standard but sadly the cutlery was the cleanest and the teapot and cups was badly stained, nothing a good clean or bleach could clean up.Can't really comment on service as once served we had to go to bar area to pay ( says it all really!)

My husband and I pop in regularly during our shopping trips in the day. He likes coffee I like wine so we are both sorted. Small but intimate and slightly wacky! Last time I had a huge wedge of cake and it was absolutely amazing. Good value and pleasant staff.

We booked the cafe for my daughters 18th birthday party, Amanda the manager was so helpful and relaxed it was a pleasure to plan the event with her, Conrad the DJ provided exactly the slightly out of the ordanairy playlist my daughter wanted and the whole evening was a great success. Cost was very reasonable. I would book again for a similar event

35 minutes for a full English breakfast, coffee cold by the time food arrived - and not worth the wait. At least the service was pleasant enough.

Lovely grub right in the centre of Formby Village shopping centre. Its down an aleeyway at the side of Iceland store and not the easiest to find if you dont know the Village. When you find it the lovely girls who work there will make you very welcome and serve you lovely food and drink.

Having visited cafe d'art many times in the past and enjoyed a nice gluten free sandwich or toasty visited today for lunch with a friend only to be told they no longer offered gluten free bread on their menu. When we asked to speak to the manager or the chef we were told neither was available and the waitress could not explain why gluten free alternatives have been taken off the menu. Apalling customer service.If you are a coeliac or wheat intolerant avoid Cafe d'art and instead go down the road to the Haro Lounge where they offer a completely gluten free menu. Thats what we did.

The food and drink is great value. Night or day this is a great place to be. The art displayed on the walls is for sale - allsorts of styles and mediums. Sometimes live music in the evenings too - brilliant

Staff are always pleasant, the food is simple but delicious with fresh salad, and tasty options. My favourite is the omelette, but anything you get off the menu is prepared fresh and to a good standard.

There is a nice selection on the menu and the food is tasty,their homemade quiche is one of my favourites. The outdoor seating area is nice on a warm day.

Visited cafe d'art on a Thursday lunchtime, lots of cafes and restaurants in Formby were busy that day. Waited 20 minutes for coffees and soft drinks and 45 minutes for toasted sandwiches and paninis. When we asked after 30 minutes where the food was we were told chef was so busy. We were in a group of five, there were eleven other customers. When the food came it was poor.

Have visited on many occasions, and dont find the layout very child friendly, however food is good and it is nice for a drink of an evening however not such a family friendly establishment.

Went in for a full english breakfast with my two children over the summer holidays. The staff were really friendly, we were offered a selection of childrens books to keep the kids entertained and a drawing easel for them to use which I thought was very fitting for the name of the place. Food was served in good time and tasted great - best breakfast Ive had in a long time! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone in the area that is looking for an affordable meal out in a child friendly place with great quality food and service.Its tucked away down the side of Icelend in Formby village - well worth a visit!

Ok, not good not bad just average. Portions a little on the small side. I was served some flat coke which wasn't the best start. They also advertise the best full cooked breakfast in Formby. Well I wouldn't like to see the the other breakfasts as the breakfast looked and tasted cheap. I don't think anyone who uses cheap deepfried sausages like the ones you get from a chippy should be making the clam if 'the best in town'especially when you're a few doors down from a really good quality butchers like broughs. I have been a patron of Cafe D'Art for some years now. The Cafe is situated in a small passageway off Chapel Lane in Formby village. Despite it being slightly out of the way - around the corner from Iceland, it is very rarely empty. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the display of works of art around the walls make this place very special and on some evenings the well advertised programme of entertainment is provided. It is a most friendly place to eat and although the menu isn't huge, the food is superb and home made, anything from snacks to larger meals. The established staff team are very helpful and can advise on a variety of menu options. Families frequent the Cafe and there is something for everybody - It is an establishment with a bar and so having a glass of beer or wine with a meal isn't unusual. My wife and i and our friends enjoy eating at the Cafe D'Art. It does appear to be constantly and tastefully upgraded.
