My friend and I called in today. It was a cold, wet bleak day and we just wanted to get away from the weather and have something to eat. The young lady who greeted us was polite and friendly. We ordered two vegetarian breakfasts and drinks. The food arrived very promptly, was piping hot and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. Shout out to Kate and Andy for amazing service. Just before posting a review I checked out other reviews, we had a totally different experience than some of the reviews, trust me we are fussy! Only didnt give 5 because it was a little chilly . BUT We will be back.

Lovely clean place to have a spot of lunch and a drink. We got shown to a table quite quickly by a lovely waitress. Had to wait a while for our order to be taken as she was very busy. Once ordered our drinks came quickly. The kids were impressed by the milkshake they had! Quite a long wait for our food but once it arrived we were impressed. Good portion sizes and tasty. A lovely place to have a drink outside on a sunny day and people watch.

Came in, was seated down , waited 20min for menu and went away.. Very upsetting , AND this was my second attempt at eating there..

Came in here after a hospital visit. A lovely warm welcome. Had a delicious hot chocolate followed by a club sandwich and american fries. All I can say is the food was amazing. Salad was well presented and the food came hot. The staff were amazingly friendly. We will be back again.

One day we may actually eat here but our last three visits to this still relative seafront newcomer have all been for a drink following a lengthy walk.As such it’s a perfect watering hole - especially when the weather allows for outside Covid distanced seating. The service is efficient if not exactly pally but on our most recent visit there was only one staff member and he was having to seat, serve and oversee the afternoon trade so smiling wasn’t top of his agenda. A good place to watch the wold from though.

I have visited mutiny bar quite a few times.I have to say the fresh new look and colours looks great well done.The young man that serves on evenings is a credit, very friendly,Very efficient,funny and makes everyone welcome.Sadly cannot say the same for the young lady who works mornings, Rude, arrogant, screaming at customers,makes you feel you are an inconvenience being there.Alot of people have decided not to stay because of her,very sad.(management need to act, your losing business).I for one will most definately stick to evenings where i feel most welcome.

Staff not over friendly, did follow covid protocol however. Stopped for coffee, there was 4 of us, no saucers with our cups only 2 spoons and 4 sugars servings between us! When my husband asked for more we were given only 3! Coffee was only teppid in temperature, my friend left most of here as she said it was so weak and practically cold, this cost £9.80, might as well of had a cold drink. Would not recommend.

What more can I say Emma is brilliant, she makes you feel very safe in these strange times and she always remembers what we're drinking.

Lovely place. With equally lovely, warm friendly, efficient staff. What more could you ask for. Great night.

Absolutely brilliant, would not go anywhere else in Scarborough, we came for one night and Keith the bar manager made us feel so welcome, chatted to us and made us feel at home even fussed our dog who is our world 5* top class service

In at 11am Sunday 13th September , full breakfast for two. Plates cold , coffee even colder , no serviettes , large female manager walked past so I asked for pepper and brown sauce. She came back with red sauce , no pepper as I looked up her back was turned with her shouting for server to ' Check we have bread, sausages, and bacon for tomorrow.' If she is the owner God help her, if she is the manager the owner should be fearful of losing the business. The worst breakfast I have had since the start of the Health and Safety brigade (10 years ago)! I also noticed the chef dress sense which resembled he'd just got out of bed. All in all a badly managed cafe come bar. Owner, please take note, I feel for you.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit,beautiful place on Scarborough sea front,staff friendly and professional.we popped in on 9/9/20 for drinks originally but after watching and smelling the food leave the kitchen we decided to order,so glad we did! Chilli cheese nachos amazing! Chicken burger gorgeous,full chicken breast in a light coating. Kids meals equally as good and great value. We will definitely be returning.

visit scarborough to see family and decided to have a pint and food in here, food was very nice, hot dogs and burgers were lovely, heads up to the girl chef, who apparently had just started, very friendly staff, will be going again, made us feel very welcome Milkshakes were lush

Just went in for a quick drink but ended up staying a lot longer! Best bar we went in all night, highly recommended! The manageress and bar staff were brilliant! Will definitely visit again... A********

Waited an hour for breakfast and it still never came. The ‘cook’ was on the beer, 10-30 in the morning, and just couldn’t get it together. There were very few orders before us and they were also waiting. I would avoid if I was you. At least we got our money back. Our coffee was nice though.

Came here this month for a few drinks with the family, after a long over due meeting after all the COVID-19 stuff and it was an absolute amazing day. What an amazing little place and the staff were so happy and friendly. We didn't plan to have food but after we saw and smelt what came out of that kitchen we just couldn’t help our selfs will definitely be coming back. Mutiny doesn’t get the credit and appreciation it deserves.

Me and my wife visited Scarborough for 4 nights this September and everyday we went in to the mutiny for a drink and we ate here twice! They are amazing!Let’s start with the food we have only had the chicken wings both BBQ and Hot ones and they are some of the best wings we have ever had - only feedback (doesn’t need salad). The dirty fried are incredible too especially the chilli cheese fries! OMG! They are so fantastically nice and the chilli is homemade! Now onto the staff. I found they couldn’t do more for us! Emma & Keith would go the extra mile for you. It was my wife’s birthday whilst we were in Scarborough and they made such a fuss! It made her day. We felt welcomed and almost as is if we were a local and not just another punter to them! 100% we will be going back to this place no matter what!

Came in for dinner yesterday and I have to say how bright and attentive the staff were. The little blonde on the bar was so polite. And the brunette flying around the floor were both lovely. The food was good, reasonable portions for the price.

Arrived at this restaurant to be greeted by a member of staff inhaling her Benson blue fags just outside the main entrance. This didn't set a good first impression for the restaurant but we was hungry and committed. Eventually got a table and ordered our beverages which were completely flat, even the pints looked upset to be dispensed in a tin pot restaurant. We ordered our starters/mains which took over an hour to arrive. Firstly, our mains came out which was stone cold and our starters came out 5 minutes afterwards. This put major pressure on us to complete the starters first before the mains decomposed into mold.The waitress who served us was new, im assuming it was her first day but she was up and down the restaurant like a Prostitutes knickers. We felt really sorry for her. I'm guessing the other members of staff were too busy rolling up their Amber leaf for their next 100th fag break.Never have a seen members of staff conduct themselves in a unprofessional manner, it was like a circus act. I Would advise to visit for amusement, would probably save yourself from purchasing tickets for the circus show in Filey.Overall a complete shambles, even the dog couldn't wait to leave.

I don’t know what the food is like here but if it matches the manners of the staff expect it to be disgusting!I witnessed the shear rudeness of staff when they were basically shouting at people passing by eating food from elsewhere being asked to move on when they were clearly on the public highway - the sea side of the ‘black line on the pavement’ in the photo. It wasn’t welcoming, it wasn’t reasonable and they were not to the establishments ‘patch’. It was the very reverse of any form of hospitality - certainly not a good impression. I won’t be visiting again.Vote with your feet people - they’re soon go bust and then may be we’ll have a better establishment run by people that know the meaning of service.

Popped in for some lunch on our first day in Scarborough. We’re seated at a table close to the bar which was fine. Social distancing was being adhered to but the staff are in and out having fags, got their mates in there shouting about stuff. Heard one of them shout to a member of staff oh you need to go clean all the crap stains from the women’s toilet which is nice when your tucking into food! I never saw a member of staff sanitise, the burgers are horrendous, tasteless, fatty, overcooked, just awful! Luckily we only paid half price as we went on the governments 50% scheme but even that was too much! The beer is flat, the toilets are dirty. Just don’t go!!!!!

Where can I start, its all bad. When we went up to the door we were greated buy a guy who I assumed worked there.But he didn't, he was just acting like he did, no idea why? He was told several times to stop buy the server, We sat down and were greated buy the actual server and It became apparent really early that it was his first day, he was on his own and he was severly overwhelmed. Not his fault. He was really nice and I felt sorry for him. The management really need to get their act together . No one should have to work front of house on their own especially on a heaving Saturday lunch time. We had to order from the breakfast menu ,although it was 11.45 and wanted dinner but he said we couldn't order from that menu?? As the kitchen staff wouldn't alow it. We had 2 breakfasts 1 normal and one big daddy type breakfast. The only extra was 1 sausage and 1 bacon. And £3ish extra charge. And it was revolting, from the very stale looking toast to the beans it was by far the worst breakfast I've ever half eaten. I did want to send it back but the guy was so rushed off his feet i didn't want to bother him. I went to the bathroom before leaving and it was like a bloody peep show. The toilet door was cheaply made by pallets and I've seen less holes on the titanic. Good job no one else was in there!! Wont be back. And I bet the 40 + people who we saw coming in sitting down, then leaving without ordering due to bad management and dire menu would be happy they left.

Popped in as it was raining, was planning on staying for food but as soon as we saw what was taken to the other unfortunate customers we decided to finish our coffees and leave. It was full of flies; I dread to think how poor the hygiene in the back of house is! The floor and tables were sticky and the toilets looked like a night club at 4 am! 10/10 wouldn't go back again!

saw the menu and decided to eat here Saturday night.Can honestly say this was the best meal I've eaten in a long time.Halloumi bites were amazing big pieces of cheese in a crispy coating. chicken wings,Hot dog and Burger.The staff were friendly and attentive.We took a dog with us and the chef even bought out a cooked sausage for him ! will defiantly be going back.

Quality tables. Heavy chairs. High quality selection of sauces. Nothing fancy just the basics. Heinz ketchup. HP sauce. Sarsons vinegar.

Full of flies! Told the chap who brought over the brown watery stuff that was our coffee and he said “oh” Nuff said!

Happened upon this venue by chance when the rain was pouring and by god are we glad we did. Cosy atmosphere and a warm welcome from the staff. The bar staff were really friendly and we ended up staying for dinner. Cant recommend the food enough the burgers are mouth watering. The chef even fed our doggie. Had an excellent time here and will most definitely be back

Called in after a walk over the headland just before the kitchen closed. I had fish'n'chips, son had wagyu beef burger and nephew had smothered chicken.All three meals were excellent and a credit to the chef who was very professional. The friendly barmaid/waitress also deserves a mention. It's a bit further along the harbour side than most South Bay eateries but is well worth the walk. Its quite a spacious place and seems like it would be good as a pub in the evenings too, some live music apparently.

We stopped in here to escape the pouring rain. The place was very welcoming and the signature burger and fries were lovely. The only downside is that all the dog friendly tables are just inside the open door which on a cold November day was a bit on the chilly side. We will revisit in the warmer months.

Not a bad sunday roast for £9 each. Dog friendly as well. Friendly staff and served quickly. The food was hot and ok, I've had better but for the price was ok. Worth a visit.

Absolutely spot on! We had our wedding reception here recently. Register office wedding so it was just before lunch. Hot buffet for the daytime and cold buffet for the evening. The food was amazing! Many people kept saying to us how it lovely it was. Everything went smooth and was perfect. The staff were all great, Jon couldn't do enough for us and kept on top of everything all the time. We had around 60 people attend and it was the perfect place for it.Thank you to all ❤

We went here recently on a long weekend away at Scarborough, staff were really friendly and the music was great. Vegetarian friendly with enormous portions. The food was really tasty, we had jalapeño poppers, nachos and some burgers. The chef is really nice and even brought our dog a sausage out! The beer was nice. Couldn’t fault it at all. We’d have definitely gone back if we were staying longer.

Had a great evening there with friendly staff and enjoyed the music and atmosphere. Went back again two evenings later and had a beautiful, fresh cooked, meal. On second visit was not happy about one of the female staff swearing.

This place is new to us this year, really enjoyed the food so went back on other days for more. Staff very friendly and helpful place was well kept and tidy worth another visit or two

Popped in on Friday the last day of our holiday as it was pouring down and had a pint and a hot chocolate. Just wanted to say the hot chocolate was the best I've ever had. Beautiful

Staff great but the food looks better than it was, onion rings are too big and the burger doesn’t really have much flavour, after finishing the food the ‘cook’ walked past with 2 bags of frozen fish, i was both confused and surprised at the same time, some authentic food would be better. The burger also came on a chopping board which was half broken this could mean splinters in the food or bacteria in the gap.

Great place to go and enjoy a drink on the seafront. Was quiet when we visited (just before lunch time) can’t comment on the food as we didn’t order any, but nice atmosphere when we popped in

We visited this pub all 12 of us which looked really nice and when we first walked in we asked if food was available the lady said of course!

We just ordered a egg mayonnaise baguette and a chicken wrap and it took over half an hour to come out and there was only 3 tables occupied in the place... the food was terrible. The chicken wrap was so so dry with no sauce or anything and the egg mayonnaise baguette was basically just a baguette. The egg mayonnaise could hardly be seen!

Had breakfast there twice this week and both times it was really nice very good customer service would recommend eating here also the young guy with a bold head very sexy

Visited here midweek for a quick bite. Went for the roast pork baguettes with stuffing and apple sauce. They came with a side of fries too. They certainly didn’t disappoint with no fat and plenty of meat. Would recommend 👍

First time visiting for a few drinks, such a lovely welcoming feeling and all staff very polite and helpful, also being able to take our dog in is brilliant. Would very much recommend this venue and will definitely be visiting again, a young girl behind bar with blonde hair in a bun looked absolutely exhausted but never stopped all the hard work she was putting in, very very happy with our afternoon .

Located hidden away, but a nice big place inside. The interior of the pub itself is very welcoming, as were the staff. Lots of large TV's to watch the sports on. The burger and chips I had were amongst the best I have tasted in a pub, and for the price as well (including a drink) it was a pleasant surprise. I will be visiting again next time I am in the area

Came here on Sunday with my daughter, we both ordered a jacket potato both were not good but mine was hard and black!!! and the side salad was brown and dry. Sent it back and it was replaced by another equally as bad. By this time I just wanted to leave no one asked me if it was ok and felt it was useless complaining again as the young girls didn't seem to know what they were doing and were more interested in drinking pop and eating themselves. The only other member of staff was an older gentleman whom we presumed was in charge had disappeared so we just left. Unfortunately we will NOT be returning again

Having got to Scarborough just past eight o'clock in the morning of a bank holiday, we were quite surprised that we could not find anywhere open for breakfast. The Mutiny Bar opened at nine, and we were first in. Cooked breakfast and tea were pretty much standard, and the level of service was probably what you'd expect if you went into somewhere that had just opened, but they were fairly friendly.

We visited Scarborough recently and decided to give Mutiny Bar a try after visiting a couple cafes that left a lot to be desired. We were pleasantly surprised by the cosiness of the bar. The waitress was polite and cheerful and the food was very nice the portion sizes were very good! Have already recommended this to family who visit Scarborough on a regular basis.

We wiped the high chair and table down with a wet wipe and the wipe was filthy!! My partner was sticking to the table. Disgraceful. Dread to think what the kitchen is like. We had already ordered food by this point otherwise we would of got up and left. They wouldn’t warm our baby’s food up but supplied a jug of boiling hot water for us to do it at the table, which to our horror the waitress passed directly over our baby’s head and the water was brown coloured with floating bits of dirt in it! I gave my baby cold food in the end. Generous cuts of meat on the carvery but the Yorkshire puddings and roasties were shop bought frozen and the veg was bland. Never again.

I don't like giving negative reviews but we tried Mutiny bar out recently and the fact it was almost empty should have been a warning, overpriced tesco tasting food disguised with random salad, it smelled great but everything else was mediocre, I've noticed other reviews have stated similar things about things tasting cheap, it's a shame because I really wanted to like this place.

Got my order wrong three times, food was not as described on menu. Chips were nice. Took 20 mins to deliver 2 cups of tea.

Delightful helpful staff -- the service was excellent and the food was delicious -- And what added to our visit was that it is dog friendly so a bonus for us

Called in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Food was tasty with good presentation. Nice portions and good value. Dairy allergy catered for no problems.

We were lucky enough to get a table outside the pub over the Easter weekend. If you have a pooch there are a few Pooch Friendly tables inside, indicated by a paw mark by the table number.

Arrived just after 7 on a Sunday evening having already asked a server what time they were open until (he said 9) and having been given menus. When went to order was told the kitchen was closed. Owner was at the bar so he told kitchen to stay open so no real issue there. Having received the food I wish the kitchen had remained closed. Ordered sirloin steak medium which came almost cremated. Mixed grill ordered steak medium rare. Steak was very well done, chich breast was dry and tasteless. Scampi and chicken nuggets were burnt. Were given a round of free soft drinks as an apology and told the chef had finished after the carvery closed at 6pm so our food was cooked by somebody else. Decor was good but new owner needs to invest in some decent kitchen staff.

When it’s hot outside u need somewhere to come to get out of the sunshine especially wen you 2 small dogs Not the cleanest inside table a bit sticky and it looked like kit kat on floor

I had popped in with my daughter this evening around 4ish and the food was lovely and very well presented, would definitely recommend!

Sat out side for a quiet drink was lovely had a light lunch too which was delicious great service at bar and lovely friendly girls.just one complaint the plastic pots to drink outside were quite dirty and smelt very funny.

Went thete for a family lunch 2 adults and 1 child. No menus on the tables in end had to ask for a menu. Asked for a instant coffee was told yes i could have one only to get a coffee machine coffee. ( coffee granules bottom of cup) order 2 adults meals and a childs meal had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for adults another 20 minutes for the child meal. You would think after that time the meals wouldbe ok. Saddly not the child meal wasnt cooked. I left more hungery then i went in. Customer service is rubbish

Stopped here for lunch but wish we hadn’t. I had a chilli chicken wrap, cut it open and it was full of water, I don’t know if it was from the wet lettuce or the chicken but I couldn’t eat it. Husband had hunters chicken and chips and had an upset stomach all afternoon. Give it a miss is my advice.

Raw fish served and still frozen in the middle after an hour's wait. You where ask table number then the staff had no clue where any meals had to go. Fish and chips ordered and got fries. Girl at the bar opened the kitchen door and said stop serving fish and this should have been cleaned yesterday???????? Two other people got refunds at same time as me. Don't go here not good at all.

We visited Scarborough for a second year and had to return to mutiny, we ordered the same meal as last year and if anything it has got better. The black rider burger is a thing of beauty, the staff are very courteous and professional. Love this bar!!

Called in for Sunday dinner, very disappointed.

Came for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Cheap food that is really tasty. We arrived at 1pm and they were still serving full breakfast which was good. They allow dogs in too which was handy for us.

Nice warm welcome from bar staff. Dog friendly 😍food freshly cooked and not long to wait. Music playing brilliant not usual modern rubbish. Pleasant experience from start to leaving. Will be back.

We have been here a few times and have always had good food. However, on this visit, the food was good and plentiful - the but comes .... as we were finishing our food the young guy from the kitchen came through the bar on his mobile phone and entered the area marked staff only - he used his free hand to enter a code to the door - after a few minutes he returned, still on his phone and in his spare hand he held half a dozen frozen burgers !! No packaging - just in his free hand - and walked through the bar into the kitchen ... ewwwwww. Think a lesson in food hygiene wouldn’t go amiss. It’s the last time we will visit.

Just terrible tbh ....only 1 meat , cold veg , kids would t even touch it , left half mine was so cold wouldn't recommend ,have to dry your own cutlery , 1 salt and pepper pot for the full bar , no atmosphere , miserable staff felt sorry for the chef

Popped in early doors, a bit quiet and we understand things were going to get busy as the whole place had been reserved for a private party later. Had a nice drink all good except really the staff shouldn’t smoke just outside the front doors.

Went for Carvery. The food was cooked to perfection, staff always friendly and welcoming. Lovely surroundings and clean. Definately wor5h a visit. Dog friendly too! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

A bar with a good atmosphere, even when we went we were the only ones there for about an hour. The staff were lovely & friendly. As a veggie the menu was limited so the chef suggest what he could make for me, a rice dish, slightly spicy with different veggies, delicious. My partner had prawns & chips, a friend had fish & chips, all tastiest, freshly made & large potions.

We went for breakfast here a couple of times this week and we will definaley go back next time we are in Scarborough. All the food is fresh and very tasty. Definitely recommend this place.

Great place for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, sat outside and great views. £3.50 for coffee and a piece of cake.

Given we were 1 of only 2 groups there I was surprised when our order of spicy rice came without the described poached egg on top. When I asked if there had been a mistake the cook told me that she only had one egg left. No apology, or recognition that perhaps they might have said something when we ordered. No offer to refund any of the bill (you pay in advance at the bar), no offer of anything to replace the missing egg that was a key component of the dish. Other than that it was just seasoned rice for £6.95. Thank goodness we paid an extra £2 for a meagre amount of chicken so there was some protein. Eventually the bar manager apologised and said it was her fault for not saying something. I stood round awkwardly waiting for some professional courtesy and then went back to the table. It was incredibly overpriced, small portions that lacked the quality you would associate with these prices, and bad manners - just sheer lack of interest in their customers. Also, no toilet paper in ladies. Don't bother. Plenty of better places to go in Scarborough.

Just spent a fab week in Scarborough and Mutiny became my favorite bar on the seafront ... and believe me I've tried them all.

My husband booked my birthday party here this weekend. It was awesome! We arrived early to find the staff already blowing up balloons that I’d dropped off and helping hanging decorations- super impressed with all of the staff there! Massive well done guys. All guests enjoyed their night, food was wonderful and all round fabulous time had. We have a bed and breakfast so we always recommend this place anyway but more so now!�

Nice, clean and modern. It was great to see a different kind of childrens' menu, ours enjoyed picnic platter. The food was well presented and tasty. Would recommend Mutiny for a welcome change from fish & chips and we will visit again.

Was very quiet so easy to get drinks while we waited for our food. There Special burger was unique but also tasted excellent. Would go again!

Service appalling and staff very unhelpful. Decided to go in with partner and ordered coffee, tea, chicken wrap and BLT sandwich. When food finally arrived the bread was stale and the wrap/sandwich tasteless. Staff not interested in customer service at all. It's it like me to find a positive but wIll definitely not be returning.

Visited this place after finding it open on walking past (was an empty for sale building last couple of years we visited scar) there was me my 15 year old daughter and partner we all ordered different burgers they were all amazing!! The chips lovely and crispy only thing we wasn’t keen on was the batter on the onion rings but the rest made up for that! The staff are good the guy with the beard was very efficient this little gem is defo worth a visit...

Just called for morning coffee, very pleasant, with friendly staff We had tea and fresh cream scones beautifully presented with butter jam and cream. All this for £2.50 each, excellent value will be there again very soo.

I have been to mutiny a few times. This visit was disappointing!! There seemed to be a lot less choice on the menu and when the food arrived it was poor. The staff were friendly which was the best thing about the visit. Will not be going again.

Went in for a drink and food... very reasonable priced. Food was nice service was good but did take half hour to do fish chips and 2 burgers and not that busy but wasn't too fussed over the waiting time as could just relax and watch the world go by.. family orientated .. dog friendly ... would visit again next time in Scarborough...

A friend recommended we eat here for lunch. Staff nice . Decor ok and was clean. I had the spicy rice bowl with chicken and mushrooms it was nice . My friend had a burger but he was disappointed in it remarking how tough the meat was our other friend had the chicken wrap with chips and said it was fine. Good selection of drinks and mixers . I probably would try it again if I'm in the area and try the teatime menu

Should have moved on when the bar staff said they had ran out of coke, only having diet. Had no pound coins! So very little change. There was a singer in the bar who was good but was too loud so couldn’t enjoy her warbling. Ordered food, received a soggy sandwich and nachos food very mediocre.bar smelt of toilet cleaning products... so did my lemonade. Wouldn’t go back or recommend to others. Not impressed at all

Can totally recommend the homemade cod goujons served on a warm, fresh ciabatta roll with a delicious tartare sauce. Great place to sit outside of and watch the world wander by.

Enjoyable afternoon here with a friend and our dogs. Lovely location and great people watching, nice food and drinks too. Not cheap but worth it for the view.

Went in here for a few beers to watch the World Cup match, made very welcome, beer was nice, staff friendly, over all nice place, did not have any food but it looked very nice from what I did see

Just tried the breakfast omelette. Think the chef must have had a surplus of eggs... never seen such a huge omelette! Washed down with a cappuccino and sat outside with the harbour 25m away. Great way to eat breakfast!
