Munch House in Maidstone

We went as a couple to explore Maidstone and looked for somewhere that did a good cooked breakfast. We were not disappointed! Everything was delicious. Staff were very friendly Food was fresh and fast. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Kids menus available too as well as lunch menu! Fyi cash only!! This wasn't a problem! X

I went in today, 15th Feb and had a chicken roast dinner, I couldn't believe what was put in front of me, it was superb, far better than I had expected, well done and thank you very much. I certainly won't bother looking any where else when I'm in the town centre.

Wasn't actually looking for somewhere to eat just fancied a hot drink so popped in and I'm so glad I did ended up having a breakfast and so pleased I did.Food was good quality at a reasonable price staff cheery and happy to pass the time with you.great little find will definitely go back

Myself, my husband and child were travelling down to see some family members. We visited the mix house for a full English for me and my husband and our little one had some beans on toast. We left with full belly’s and we’re not disappointed. It’s lovely and clean and the staff were all very friendly. We will definitely return on our next trip to see the family.

Went in with a group of friends just before Christmas was worried there wasn't room for us all but they made sure we all sat together food was great price was good staff welcoming will go back when I'm hungry for sure

W e have been going here for a couple of years when visiting relatives and I always order Full English, service is efficient and staff friendly the have a good menu with plenty to choose from and all at reasonable prices It is not suitable for people in wheelchairs no room to move and no disabled toilets and there is a flight of stairs to the toilet. Covid sanitisation is being observed Have no problem in recommending this cafe

The staff kindly supported our Charity group of young people with special needs trying out their ordering skills. The staff made them all feel so welcome. Thanks

Staff are absolutely lovely, stunning service and fantastic food. We all came out for a fry up breakfast and it's started our day RIGHT! Will defo come back as it was a lovely meal!

In Maidstone with a friend taking in the sights which started after a lovely breakfast in the Munch House. Nice friendly atmosphere and an ideal place to stop at any time of the day.

Popular old school cafe offering typically breakfast and lunch options , plenty is seating and clean food cooked fresh to order. Ingredients are not high quality but good enough and reflects cost as inexpensive - Good location as right on high street in town centre

Lots of reviews written about restaurants, hotels, venues etc.Well if you intend to come to Maidstone or are passing through you just have to visit here.Great little cafe, my favourite for breakfast, you can have a small munch or a large munch and it’s fabulous! They do a full menu for lunch mainly classics like fish and chips, roast or pies etc but the staff are always happy, the food is hot a tastes lovely and although small and compact you always get a table as the service is great and the team work really hard. One of my best places when you want a good weekend breakfast!

Recommend 100%! Visited Munch House for the first time as it was recommended by a few friends and was amazed by the quick service and very attentive staff. The food was excellent and affordable, the atmosphere was very friendly, welcoming and cosy. Love the idea of an alternative to your typical english breakfast, like the avocado on sourdough and the veggie stack- which was delicious.Will definitely be back!

Came here for lunch with my mum, we found a lovely little table for two, the atmosphere was friendly and rather busy! Greeted by all staff and the manageress, our Food was served promptly by a brunette waitress who was very welcoming. We enjoyed our jacket potatoes cooked perfectly and both enjoyed our lattes and a milkshake each which my mother especially was delighted with! Overall the experience was fabulous! 100% coming back.

Hands down my favourite place to eat! Always a lovely service and food is delicious with very good prices. The jacket potatoes are the best I've had. Has a real homely feel to the place. Fresh food, friendly staff and always a warm welcome.

Can not recommend this place enough. Popped in for a sausage sandwich and was over the moon with how friendly and welcoming the girls are here. The atmosphere is great, the food is lovely! Will be returning here for sure!

Had to deliver a car to Maidstone at the crack of doom so had not had breakfast before leaving home some 40 odd miles away

this is a dead restaurant never eat here again they serve dog on a stick. I asked for a nice 1 piece of chicken and I received to my surprise a dog toe.

No free parking but as in town plenty of parking about. Food is cooked to perfection and nothing is an issue. Staff are very friendly and the place feel clean and cutlery is spotless.

Had a cooked breakfast (full English) at the Munch House 08.02.19. Very good food and friendly staff - would recommend.

If you wake up hungry in Maidstone then this is where you go! Friendly little place with a nice local feel. They do proper fried breakfast!!

Ordered mega breakfast taste is spot on. 3 of most items swopped mushrooms 4 chips never an issue. Parking is pay and display opposite cafe and 2 seconds from Cheques centre

Good portions and proper sized sausages 💪🏽 nice service too - seems quite popular because it was very busy when I went - but even with it being busy, service was still great and food was really decent! Would definitely come back 👍🏽

My husband and i were strolling down the town when we decided to pop into Munch and ordered coffees , tomato soup and English bf. The service was quick and the waitress was polite. It seemed a cozy place to have food and coffee.

Stopped here for brekkie with grandson and had cooked brekkie. Hot and ok food. Grandson ate the lot.

Saw the reviews for this and decided to give it a go, had the small munch breakfast, 1 sausage, 2 eggs, 1 bacon, beans, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown ( best I've ever tasted I usually find them inedible) and 1 toast all for under £4 a must visit if in Maidstone will be back for sure

I have had a variety of meals at this establishment ranging from the biggest Munch breakfast, to the cheeseburger and the salad. I am yet to find food from any restaurant or cafe for miles around that tastes this good. I have never had any issue, the staff are polite and friendly, customer service is always on point! Ideally located in Maidstone so it can be reached by bus, taxi and car. Highly recommended!

Breakfast took twenty minutes.The eggs were cooked so much that they had stuck to the plate. I complained to the blonde waitress who said "well what do you want me to do about it" I explained that it's inedible and I don't want any of it. So said and I quote "well we can re cook the eggs but the rest is fine" I asked her to take it away as I don't want to eat cold food (burnt sausages just saying and a spoon of beans so with that she took my breakfast to the brown haired girl who was "cooking" and she called me a wan**er for daring to say her breakfast was inedible. Never ever had this before, laughable really but normal for maidstone Got my replacement breakfast and it was the same one more burnt after being kept in an oven.Clearly the bloke who does the cooking on weekends takes Monday off.I didn't eat it and yet was told I would be paying for this garbage.I don't care about being called a swear word, it's par of the course for daring to say anything to the youth in Maidstone and I work with challenged people every day. However I get funny about paying for garbage. Avoid this place and make your way down the hill to better places

Desde el exterior de la casa es modesto y pequeño munch, escondido pasando de la principal zona comercial. Nos dirigimos hacia la zona de asientos en la parte trasera y pedí un desayuno inglés para mi marido sólo para ser confrontados con el mayor plato de comida que he visto para una persona en una bandeja tan grande que apenas había espacio para algo más en la mesa. A decir que estaba en el cielo el desayuno sería un eufemismo - todavía estamos hablando días después, y si alguna vez encontramos en el área de nuevo sabemos exactamente donde estaremos comiendo! Personal encantador, amable, super comida de calidad a un gran precio, simplemente asegúrese de que está realmente hambriento si visita aquí!

Visited Munch House a couple of weeks ago. The food was great and good value. A nice 'cosy' place for meeting and eating.

Cometí el error de pedir el desayuno mega, mis ojos eran más grandes que mi vientre ya no podía comer de todo. Era todo tan precioso, pero mis favoritos eran las salchichas deliciosas y tocino sabroso. Se trata de un plato que parece más bien una bandeja, ya que hay mucho que va en ella.

We popped in to the Munch House today as we do fairly frequently and as usual we received excellent service and excellent quality of food at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit.

Came here for lunch with some people from work and we all had a lovely lunch. I had a bacon and egg baguette, one lady had a jacket potato with tuna, one lady had one of the small all-day breakfasts and then the man we were with had one of the bigger breakfasts. None of us had any complaints, everyone's food was delicious and came out quite quickly which was great seeing as we only had an hour for lunch.

Went in before a day of shopping and couldn't fault any of it. We both had breakfasts that came out perfect. The portions are big and we'll worth the money. The staff are always really nice and the whole is kept very cleaning tidy.

I eat in this Cafe some good time ago & I just keep going back for more good food & the Staff are really nice as well.

Having our kitchen revamped we decided to have lunch out and having seen the MunchHouse was doing a Xmas lunch we thought we might try it.The meal was so good,the staff so friendly and the service top rate that we returned 3 times before Xmas.Long may this continue .We shall definitely return

I've been coming to Munch House for years and I can't believe it's had any negative reviews- large, cheap and clean fry ups with friendly service to boot. Sure staff are busy, the place is always heaving! Recommend the omelette or jacket potato, or any of the breakfasts- although mega munch is a big bite! p.s. I live in Canterbury but still travel to Munch House for a good breakfast. I've not found anything anywhere near as good near me.

Love coming here for their jacket potatoes. It's done perfectly and there's so many toppings to choose from, plus, you can have it as a take-away if you don't have time to sit in. The staff are always lovely and seem very happy so always a pleasure to go in.

This is little more than a greasy spoon with some pretentions when it comes to the price.Clean and the food's ok, but the service can be rather slow and although they clearly try the waitresses are too overworked to really make you feel totally comfortable. I've been to much worse.

Its ok, edible.Nothing amazing but not had a bad meal.Be nicer if most of it wasn't pre-cooked and sat there.Not particularly cheap but fine if your hungry!

Doing a bit of shopping in Maidstone with my mum when she wanted a rest so we popped in to the munch house at first it seemed pleasant enough although the tables are far to close together and there is barely enough room to move without knocking someones elbow or leg and it was quite busy at the time. I did not go that much on the inside seemed to be a little grotty in need of a good tidying up but that is what you expect from a little back street café in a very dirty county like Maidstone, anyway we had coffee and my mum had a cake quite reasonable prices The female staff very polite and friendly and were extremely busy but smiled throughout our visit, unfortunately this was ruined by the arrogant tw@t behind the counter a man of slim build with bald head or little hair who was very rude to both his staff and a customer which I did not like, manners cost nothing but this idiot clearly has no idea what manners are and thought he had an answer for everything so on this basis I would not go in there again.

Having visited the Munch House dozens of times over the last 3 years, I was amazed to see that they didn't appear on TripAdvisor. That needed to be put right asap. When I worked in the town centre this café quickly became my favourite place to go if I was feeling peckish at lunch and wanted more than a sandwich. You cannot beat their "Big Munch" of sausages, bacon, egg, baked beans and hash brown etc. There are Small Munch and Mega Munch as well, depending on your hunger level. A large variety of other options and combinations (their fish is particularly good and they also do a great roast dinner). Speedy and very friendly service, large portions and very good prices makes for excellent value for money. They are open Mon-Sat 8am to 4pm. I haven't been disappointed yet - give them a try!
