If I could put zero stars I would! By far the absolute worst restaurant! Served off food, then argued it was fresh and asked to taste it off our plates. (Why would you have to taste it if it was fresh?) £3 for a small coke that is poured out of a 2litre bottle (completely flat!) Then argued that's how coke comes. Tried to discuss the bill with him as we wasn't happy at all, instead he told us we wasn't leaving the shop at all and called the police because we stated we didn't want to pay for the off food. Total bill was £39. We gave him £20 for the food that wasn't off (even though it wasn't very nice, but was still willing to pay but definitely not for food that had gone off. Unfortunately the police coming didn't go in his favour. Really annoyed as it was our first and last time at this restaurant and we've left feeling sick and disrespected. Definitely would NOT recommend to anyone.

Super fast delivery/takeout every time, good variety and perfect for a curry night. Grateful to have a good Indian in the neighbourhood!

An Unpleasant Experience I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Mumbai, an Indian restaurant in London. The ordeal began the moment we stepped inside. There were no baby chairs available, which was quite inconvenient as we were dining with a baby. More troubling, however, was the staff's complete lack of customer service etiquette. Upon being seated and given the menu, we noticed that the waitstaff seemed indifferent and uninterested in taking our order, despite the restaurant not being busy. Due to our exhaustion from traveling and the need to feed our baby, I approached a waiter to request our order be taken. He reluctantly agreed, and it seemed like we were about to leave when he assured us the order would be taken promptly. Unfortunately, this promise did not lead to a positive outcome. When our food finally arrived, the quality was abysmal. The naan bread was burnt black on one side, and both the paneer curry and biryani were utterly tasteless. When we brought the issue of the burnt naan to the staff's attention, we were met with hostility and told that this was the standard fare at the restaurant. The waiter spoke to us as if he was doing us a favor by serving the food, which was far from acceptable. Despite the poor quality of the food, we were forcefully made to pay by the old man working there. As we were with our family and baby, we paid for the food and left without causing a scene, not wanting to escalate the situation. The final straw was an older staff member who not only argued with us but also exhibited racist behavior, refusing to listen to our complaints. In summary, my visit to Mumbai was a nightmare. The combination of poor service, substandard food, and unacceptable behavior from the staff made it a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I strongly advise avoiding this restaurant, especially if you are a tourist in London.

FIRST & FOREMOST - this is not an Indian restaurant and NO connection to Mumbai (Bombay). It is a Bangladeshi restaurant (this is like calling French Cuisine as English). Ordered a Dansak dish (a common / popular dish all over UK) which is supposed to have Lentils as primary ingredient - made a comment and was told rudely by the owner (1) What is Lentils ? as restaurateur I thought he would know LOL (2) and this is a good one: He then claimed that the Lentils had dissolved !!!! Thats probably a good magic trick at best. Got the order wrong. And to pay £6.00 for one mango lassi is very Pricey

Had a beautiful meal with my daughter this evening! Service was friendly, welcoming & on point. Food was amazing as always! Usually have it from here takeaway which never disappoints but was extra special not having to wash up.

Went in around 20:30 was able to get a food for one , was seated to a table made my order with a helpful waiter. 1 star less from 5 because I was not offered any complimentary starters but a group of 4 walked in and they were offered what seemed to be the usual complimentary starters that every guest will get , other than that my hot came out hot which was nice portion size is good I was told it is spicy but not a kick to it for me anyways … everything else was good will go back again

Such kind staff and really accommodating for allergies taking the time to explain preparation of foods. Food was fantastic, I had a king prawn balti and pilau rice. Fragrant and not oily at all which was such a plus. Grilled tikka paneer to start was also great. Definitely recommend.

Went as a group of 11. We were terribly late and the staff could not have been more gracious and welcoming. Food was unanimously voted fantastic and we would be very happy to return.

This is not an Indian restaurant, but probably run by a Bangladeshi owner. The food taste is not suitable for Indian taste buds and it differs from regular dish preparation.

Nice curry. We ordered fairly standard fayre rather than their specialities and it was good value. Lamb curries had really tender meat, often not the case in some curry houses

This lovely Indian restaurant used to be our 'local' Indian for many years when we lived in Bermondsey. We enjoyed loads of curries from here and since we moved, over 10 years ago, we have not found an equally good Indian restaurant! Back tonight for a nostalgic dinner with friends. Loved it all as always, the best Indian in town!

Not if time was not right, but the Chicken Biryani wasn't really a Biryani. It was made up rice added with chicken.

i have visited 6 times so far and mostly had an enjoyable time with good food and attentive service. there was one night when we and other customers had to comment that the dishes we ordered were much spicier than usual so a bit more consistency in the kitchen would be good. i would still recommend this as the best indian restaurant in the area.

First and foremost, it should never be classified as Indian cuisine restaurant. This is a bangladeshi restaurant and food tastes nowhere indian. I asked for spicy chicken and they did serve spicy dish however the problem is it tastes like nothing but chillies. It wasn’t eatable at all. Staff was good. And only thing I liked was beer.

Go to for butter chicken + peshwari naan. Dont waste your time in another place. Have ordered every 2 weeks for the last 6 months without fail. KEEP IT UP

We went to London for some work. Tried searching for Indian food and fortunately reached this restaurant. We enjoyed the food, great taste,well served, the staff was friendly and co-operative. Will recommend to visit this place especially if missing your family back in home country.

My go-to takeaway place. I usually order the Vegetarian side dishes. I order through their app and go pick-up my stuff. You get 20% off on their app on collection order >£15. Dal and vegetables are tasty, staff is very positive and polite, and always greets me with a smile. Also, super quick service. I’ve never had to wait and portion sizes are good and worth the ££. Good job, guys!

So after our visit to the tower bridge, we were looking for Indian restaurants to eat and found Mumbai as the reviews were good, we thought we should pay a visit. The place is really small and waiters don’t speak much English (at least not what we would understand). It’s not important but helpful and should not be taken as something we thought was important when it came to our review. We ordered the thali for 2 and my daughter ordered lamb chops. The food was horrible to say the least. I was appalled at the quality, the flavors. I would give it no stars if possible and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible food. Butter chicken tasted extremely sweet with artificial coconut flavour. Seems like we got some other dish and not butter chicken. Paneer tikka was just paneer and chillies in red coloured liquid. No flavour except spice from chillies. Rice was not properly cooked and full of lumps. Starter platter very less quantity. 1 piece each of Samosa, chicken tikka, seekh kebab and onion bhajia. Samosa was tasteless and seemed like a frozen one purchased from supermarket and fried. Recommend not to punish yourself to this bad experience

Extremely appalled at what they are calling Indian food. I have never seen Indian food abused so much. The owner really needs to actually take a trip to India and find what Indian food actually is. How can one add coconut to butter chicken?

For a place named Mumbai, it doesn't have any dishes from Mumbai. The food overall is quite different than what you would expect in typical Indian resturant. For example, Aloo Chaat here is Puri Bhaji

After 2 years being a regular client through deliveries( I was ordering a lot while the lock downs to support their business as local support), twice, the person in charge of the delivery had to "wait" because of a dysfonctionning bell, until he had to call my phone and I opened the door for him.So wait for basically 1 minute which I am sure is not nice and I apologised for it.But I don't think it is a reason to talk to people with no respect. When I told him I wouldn't be a client anymore he looked at me angrily and said "fine" before walking away. So yeah the food is okay but there are no respect, diplomacy and sense of contact. I am sure you'll find better human values in other restaurants around. It depends what you value for sure.

Ordered Butter Chicken & Garlic Naan bread from this place! Food is average with the butter chicken not having the authentic flavour you would normally expect,but it was okay'ish! The naan was ok ,but expected it to be with more garlic flavour. Food arrived quiet fast and they kindly popped in some free Papadom which is generous.Overall average food interms of taste.

If you are looking for delicious non vegetarian Indian food near Tower bridge at affordable rates, this is your place. We ordered tandoori chicken and fish bhuna and loved every single bit of it. The chapati and naan were just okay.

We returned to this restaurant as the food had been good last visit to the area. We are the in,y ines dining in a Monday night but he takeaway orders were flying out the door. We ordered prawn puri & chicken tikka to start, both delicious & followed with butter chicken, rice & a peshwari naan. The naan was lacking in filling but was very tasty. Service was very attentive, prices were great, especially the house white wine! Also nice to get £5 off our bill through the Amex small business scheme.

One of the blandest Indian meals I have ever had. The starters first - The paneer tikka was literally just 6 little cubes of paneer in a box and the chicken tikka a single leg of chicken in a box, both a couple of sad dishes. Unfortunately the mains were no better - the chicken xacutti just tasted of vinegar, obviously from the pickles, but that was the only and overriding flavour. We ordered this as it stated it had some heat, but that was also missing. The cauliflower was cooked hours, if not days, before we ate it and reminiscent of school dinner veg circa 1985. The biryani was also appalling, with not a spice or fresh herb in sight. Seriously, where were these guys??? A good biryani should have fresh mint, cloves, crisp onions and be packed with flavour, but this was little more than brown rice with tough and sinewy lamb. The Peshawari naan had hardly any filling in it, making it another pointless addition to the meal. A massive disappointment.

Excellent meal. The niramish was exceptional. Lamb chatga was nice and bold which good spices and a long flavour on the tongue. Polite service and a wonderful last meal before london heads into tier 3 lockdown. Delighted with my choice.

I was there twice in the last couple of months. In my first visit I ordered samosas, chicken tikka and chicken Tikka massala, everything was super tasty and delicious. Second time I repeated the chicken Tikka and asked the waiter (the service is very attentive every time!!) for a recommendation and tried the lamb kaalia (medium hot). It was fantastic. Plain Naan is delicious too and very nice if you choose spicy dishes. I will definitely try their take away options now that we'll be in lockdown for a few weeks. (no pics because everything was so nice that I started eating straight away 😂)

Great chicken tikka masalas, highly recommend!

Usually have a good experience but our order today included a £5 tikka paneer starter and a £10 main of the same. See the photos - pathetically small at a pound a piece. We phoned up and they couldn’t care less. A shame as we have people over and those particular dishes are just not enough. And we’ve been a loyal customer. It feels like a rip off. Even a bit of sauce would be fine but look at the pics and consider that’s £15’s worth of food! Other dishes are fine, just don’t bother with the paneer

Amazing food and service! We had the meat samosa, lamb chops, chicken dupiaza and Chatga Lamb . The team there is very nice and helpful with selecting a meal to fit your own taste. Khan was very kind and smiling - it was a great moment and food is delicious!

Good quality Indian food, not too expensive. Food came with free poppadom and a type of mint yogurt sauce. Big portions without scrimping on quality; the matar paneer was particularly nice.

I discovered Mumbai as a 'new' restaurant added to Just Eat, ordered about 21:00 and was told my food would arrive at 21:40. My food hadn't arrived at 22:00 so I called the restaurant who said they were still waiting for the driver to arrive and that I should call Just Eat (which I did). Anyway, to cut a long story short and after being completely messed about by Just Eat (who were useless), the restaurant called me out of concern I was going to go hungry (it was now 2 minutes before they were due to close) and charged me for the meal outside of Just Eat (who I managed to cancel the order with) with a discount and delivered it themselves for free as the final thing they did for the night. What's even better is the food was cracking! They'd clearly kept it warm despite it being ready for over an hour and it was all delicious (would recommend the chicken kaalia curry from the chef's special). I was really touched by their genuine concern for me as a customer and needless to say I will never be ordering a curry from Just Eat ever again and will be going directly to Mumbai - helps that the food was banging too. Looking forward to visiting too based on other reviews here when lockdown lifts enough!

When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with a smile by the waiters. The décor inside the restaurant was very nice. We had a large group and the food was served earlier than expected time. All the food served were very delicious and tasty specially mixed Grill and Chicken Jalferejazi. This has to be one of the best chicken dish I have tasted in an Indian restaurant as I travel around the country. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have used Mumbai for 13 years now as a restaurant and for take aways. Over this 13 years the food has always been outstanding with lots of great flavours. The owner and staff always make you feel very welcome. Highly recommended

Soggy sugary mess. Ordered 2 dishes for takeaway: chicken, okra on the side and some pilau rice. Chicken dish was as sweet as a desert and inedible. Rice had intense cinnamon smell, dip was overly sweet. Okra dish was okay but we threw out everything else. Called up the restaurant and they a replacement dish but kept insisting that this is how people like it. Don't agree.
