Went there for a special marriage anniversary that we’ve been looking forward to for months. The location and the hotel itself is amazing with stunning views. But the service was below average I would say if we are talking about the prices they are charging. We were disappointed by the service as we had so many little inconveniences but no one from that staff was attentive enough to spot it or to correct it when it appeared. We were walked to a table near the window that was so much darker than the table next to us which was decorated romantically and we thought that’s for us considering that we informed them about our anniversary. We were given the dark table but they acknowledged our anniversary then. Other small things that let us down: E.g we booked an a la carte menu, but were given 3-course set menu. We came with jackets and left them on our chairs, no one offered to put those in the clock room until we asked for. We were served bread and butter after a table that arrived 10min after us. We were given a second time bread and butter but a lady dressed in black cleared off the plates and then brought them back realising that we want more bread and only then the lady offered to put the napkins on our laps. When the starters arrived the light on our table was soo bad compared with the next table and we pulled up our phones and 🔦 to take a picture of the food - again, no one spotted our little inconvenience. After that we asked to change the table as we’d like to see what we’re eating. After we finished our mains which took more than 1.5h to arrive since we stepped in the restaurant. After finishing the mains which were very delicious our table was cleared, but I had to ask Efean to come and clean it again as there were still some leftovers on the table. When setting the table, the lady provided us with spoons and one of them remained on the table until the desert came - no one updated the table cutlery correctly and finally gave it back to Efean when the desert arrived. For a £200 dinner we didn’t feel valued much and we are not super fancy eaters or to complain about as we’ve tried thousands of restaurants all over the world. Upon our departure Eafon listened to our comments and apologies on the name of team and we left a tip only for him as the others shouldn’t be in a 5*/1 Michelin Star Restaurant. Recommendation: please hire more staff and think about the furniture that you buy as they make or break a customer’s experience- I was with my knees in my neck the entire meal as their tables and seats are tooo small/low.

We visited Ting for an afternoon tea. The views of London were stunning, the selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones was beautifully presented. The tea menu was diverse and service was great overall. I felt the food could have been better with some of the bread being a little stale and the cakes lacking in flavour. Our service started brilliantly but I think our waitress must have finished her shift as the attentiveness of the staff significantly reduced towards the end of our experience. Overall we enjoyed our time and you’re mainly there for the view which was great. We were given a seat right next to the window so we were able to make the most of it!

A surreal experience! Explosion of flavors with an unforgettable view of London. They are on my list of unmissable restaurants to visit. Great place to celebrate a special date, like we celebrated our friends' daughter's 15th birthday. This special date will certainly be forever kept in her memory and in that of all of us who had the privilege of celebrating with her.

ordered the Beef Tataki for starters which felt undercooked, vinegar wasnt optional and didnt taste very nice, then ordered Gressingham Duck for mains which was a small portion and wok fried aubergine which felt plain and wasn’t able to finish and with both these starters we ordered rice which was fairly good. Finally ordered Soba-chocolate for dessert which was not too bad however it could be better. The a la carte menue sounds good however the menu we had been given was the 5 course and 3 course and both had limited options that didn’t sound appealing, the food was not appetising and i generally feel like the food let the restaurant down especially how much it costs. The drinks were not too bad but could’ve been better as there is a low option for non-alcoholic drinks. However, the service was amazing the server that was taking our orders was well mannered and amazing. And every other staff was very sweet.

The food here is lovely, spot on. The service really needs a lot of attention. We waited nearly 30 minutes just to be asked if we would like a drink and everything felt a bit disjointed. The worst thing by far though was their approach to allergy awareness. We emailed to advise we had a guest with a serious fish allergy, and the waiting staff asked whom the person was upon arrival. However, she was given a separated seafood starter (we were on the sharing menu) - how this could happen beggars belief, there could have been a serious incident had I not spotted the error, it really was unforgivable. With hindsight I should have refused to pay the service charge but I didn't want to make a fuss infront of my guests. I would return simply because the food is very good, it's a real shame that the service is so sloppy and poor.

We made reservations for afternoon tea for a special birthday months in advance. Ting exceeded our expectations. Service was exquisite - very attentive and friendly, and explained what we were being served in-depth. We were seated right by the window looking southeast - incredible view, and we had the ability to walk all around the floor, so we could get views of the entire city. It was a bit hot in here since the sun was beaming down, but the restaurant adjusted the shades to help. Food was great, especially the finger sandwiches. Even the bathrooms were amazing - when you walk in, you're greeted with floor-to-ceiling views of the city. This was a unique twist on the traditional afternoon tea & Ting really delivered

We had a lovely dinner at Ting. Great views, ambience and service. The food was delicious but the plates were cold, meaning the food wasn’t as hot as we’d have liked. Also the wine, whilst good, was very expensive for what it was - if booking here, be aware that there is nothing on the red wine list under about £60! Would definitely, however, return!

WOW, this place was fantastic, we went for the afternoon tea as part of a special birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. Everything from the food to atmosphere was spot on. The service was good but slow at times but we did eventually get everything we'd asked for - with a smile! The ambience in the restaurant was lovely and there were live acoustic singers on the day we went which was a lovely addition. The view was pretty spectacular too. The only slight gripe was on the whole floor there's only one set of toilets and we made the mistake of going after they'd been used quite heavily, bad smell and run out of toilet paper which you wouldn't expect in a higher end establishment.

We attended an afternoon tea at Ting expecting a classy experience (with the price we were paying, it wasn’t an unreasonable expectation). When we arrived we were lucky to be seated right up front with the best view of the Thames which would’ve made for an excellent experience except for the fact that two tables over were two musicians playing Taylor Swift songs at a street performance volume. Instrumental jazz or harp would’ve been a better fit for this atmosphere rather than country renditions of American pop music. We asked to be moved to a quieter table which meant giving up our incredible view. The food was mediocre at best. Tasty. But not worth the price. Although it is probably an affordable price for people of higher pay grades, for us - we had been saving up to have a special anniversary meal and we regretted using our savings for this experience. Next time I’m in London I’ll save 200 pounds and go to a local cafe instead for a fraction of the price.

Absolute chaos at afternoon tea. We were a larger group and we had to remind the staff that two of us had not received our stand. We ordered some non-tea items plus later a bottle of wine. All of which had to be re-ordered because who ever we had asked for each item had not actually placed the order. I estimate each thing took about an hour to arive. Wine can only be ordered through the Sommelier but cocktails are handled by someone else. Fruit juice by someone else. A different person took the champagne and tea orders. There were so many different wait staff it was all very messy. It would have been so much less shambolic if each table had a dedicated waiter. However, the food was nice, the view panoramic and the toilets were great.

We went for afternoon tea and were sat in a corner with an excellent view. We’d arranged previously for one of us (myself) to have a gluten free tea, and they accommodated this, however the food really bad. I have had delicious gluten free teas in London before, but this one really missed the mark. All of the the gluten free food (except the sandwiches) was also regretfully vegan, which I didnt know until I started eating. They even brought me vegan clotted cream which tasted like harden coconut oil. We received great service from everyone except our server who didn’t explain how the tea worked, or what things were as she brought them, and was quite slow and unfriendly. Bad day, perhaps. Our scones took a very long time - and mine were not scones - just rock hard muffins. The actual teas were lovely, and again so was the view. Overall though, the value for the money was extremely disappointing. The only thing I enjoyed was the two-bite carrot cake. I will say that when I politely offered feedback, they gave me a small discount of £11, but with the water (no alcohol) my bill still came to £87. I would love to have that and my time back.

Celebrating a birthday with afternoon tea at TING, located on the 35th floor of The Shard in London, is an experience that truly elevates the occasion—both literally and figuratively. From the moment you step into TING, you are greeted by a sophisticated ambiance that combines modern elegance with stunning views of the London skyline. As we settled into our table, the panoramic vistas provided a breathtaking backdrop, setting the tone for a memorable afternoon. The decor is stylish and contemporary, with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood the space, making it an ideal setting for a celebratory gathering. The attentive staff welcomed us warmly, ensuring we felt special right from the start. The afternoon tea menu at TING offers a delightful selection of both traditional and innovative treats. We began with an array of beautifully presented finger sandwiches, featuring classic fillings like smoked salmon and cucumber, each bite bursting with flavor. The sandwiches were followed by a selection of freshly baked scones, served warm with clotted cream and a choice of delectable preserves. The scones were light and flaky, a highlight of the experience. The pièce de résistance, of course, was the exquisite array of pastries and desserts. Each item was a work of art, showcasing a variety of flavors and textures. From delicate macarons to rich chocolate tarts, the presentation was impeccable, making it almost too beautiful to eat. Each bite was a celebration of taste, perfectly complementing the fine selection of teas available. Speaking of tea, TING offers an extensive tea menu that caters to all preferences. The staff were knowledgeable and eager to help us choose the perfect blends to accompany our treats. Their recommendations enhanced the experience, allowing us to explore a range of flavors that paired beautifully with the food. Throughout our time at TING, the service remained attentive without being intrusive. The staff made sure our glasses were filled, and they checked in regularly, adding to the personalized touch that made the birthday celebration feel truly special. In summary, afternoon tea at TING in The Shard is an unforgettable experience that combines exquisite culinary offerings with spectacular views of London. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, creating lasting memories in a stunning setting. If you’re looking for a luxurious and memorable afternoon tea experience, TING is undoubtedly a top choice that will leave you feeling pampered and delighted.

I was “forgotten” about several times by the wait staff. This kind of racist behaviour was so disappointing. I got to my table just before 1pm. A couple who arrived some time after me were served first. When the waiter saw me looking at them, he said I would get my meal soon, but I finally got food 30 minutes after I arrived. There was a musician and singer setting up a few inches away from me, but thankfully the music wasn’t loud. It was pretty strange that they were so close that the singer’s hips almost brushed the side of my head! In 2024, it is not right that Black customers are treated like this. I paid the same as everyone else there, but I was treated like a second-class person. This was supposed to be a treat, but I regret ever going there.

Although the setting was incredible, the service wasn’t what I expected for 15% added to the bill. The sandwiches were fresh, cakes were lovely but scones & carrot cake were disappointing.

We came here for afternoon tea. The food is ok. The presentation is good and the dry ice for the shard patisserie is showy. The main reason to come is the view and that is not guaranteed. I’ve added a photo so you can see what it’s really like if you don’t get a window seat, which we did not. Without the view then it’s an ok afternoon tea for £78.

We really enjoyed our meal at Ting. The waiting staff were really attentive and helpful. The food was good but I think that for the price you are paying, I expected it to be a higher standard. All in all, we had wonderful views of London whilst enjoying a nice meal and cocktails.

Staff were really nice, helpful friendly. The view is nice. Everything is clean. Food meh, most dishes were tepid and did not deliver how the menu read. Disappointing.

We had a fantastic experience. Our waitress Helga was so attentive to what we requested. All meals were explained so well. We both loved our starters especially.

I had a fabulous morning at Ting, a chic and classy restaurant in the heart of London. The ambience was cozy and sophisticated. The service was flawless, the staff was attentive and professional. Especially Jenny! The food was superb, cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Ting .

We recently visited Shangri La Ting for afternoon tea. The food was delicious, and the variety of teas offered was impressive. However, I believe there's room for improvement in their service. The waitress seemed quite unhappy and was often angry, which affected the overall experience. Additionally, the food was served late, which was disappointing. If they can upgrade their service quality, it would make the visit much more enjoyable. For now, it's a place with great food but needs better customer service. The service doesn’t meet the expectations of a top world hotel; at all!

Solid 4 stars. Food is okay. Scones were a bit dry. “The Shard” dessert was a bit grainy in texture. All the rest were good though. Service could be better. I have to ask for certain items twice due to slow service. I asked for a refill of peach puree which never came. There’s so many to choose from and I ended up forgetting about that peach puree. My daughter requested for hot chocolate and we didn’t get it until the end when we already paid and signed the bill. My daughter actually forgot that she ordered the choco because she was already full but that’s beside the point. One should expect better service when you pay for so much. The view/atmosphere is definitely a 5/5.

It was a very relaxing experience. The only qualm I have is that the seat were slightly too low but other than that the meal was perfect.

Been there for drinks - Excellent service. Price below the average and probably one of the only few places in the city bringing some nuts and tasty olives with the drinks! Well the atmosphere and the view surely don’t need any comment from my side :)

Cibo tailandese da gustare tra i vari stand del Borough market… Pad thai buono e abbondante con gamberoni, anche la porzione di riso large con carne e verdure è stata apprezzata, molto abbondante. Costo per questi due piatti: circa 26€

My boyfriend and I came here for supper last week after buying a voucher from wowcher- £19 for a 5 course carribean meal. Like some of the other reviews I've read- we almost missed the entrance as it isn't well lit nor even looks open from the outside. The restaurant itself is huge and we were only in there with about 4 other people. The food was fresh and tasty- I really enjoyed the jerk chicken starter as well as the sunshine fish which I had as my main. It was slightly disappointing that one of the starters and one of the mains were sold out as it made the menu slightly more limited. I would say worth a visit but if you're looking for atmosphere then this isn't the place for you.
