Service was impeccable. It was a date night for vday as I missed it due to work so had to make sure I can pull out the stops and chose here. Atmosphere was nice. I thought it may be a bit stuffy and pretentious that will make you feel out of place but it was far from that Ordered the romance in the sky package which includes rose petals on the table, a window seat view, Welcoming glass of champagne. A set menu which is included in the price and to make it extra special I asked for a request to write a note with a poem I had made which they had done. Service was outstanding. I thought the place would be a bit stuffy and feel a bit out of place but all the staff were so lovely and welcoming. Some of the reviews I read is completey far from my experience Our Waitress was amazing she was very attentive and explained everything to us quickly without feeling rushed, and her personality just shined through and she made it even that more enjoyable and special. The food was enjoyable I wouldn't say the best I've had foe the price point but not the worst. We ordered the Tuna tartare, Duck canoli & beef tataki. Tuna tartare was the highlight, the duck was perfectly cooked and the tataki was perfectly seared. Mains we had the stir fried beef, the baby cucumbers that were cooked with curry leaves and Mustard seeds, egg fried rice, Steamed stone bass, and the prawns. I am a chef myself and worked in michelin and Rosette environments but damn those prawns were the highlight for me it was absolutely delicious and the fried rice noodles complimented the textrues from the prawns and they were perfectly cooked I could've ate like 5 bowls of that alone The stone bass was a bit underseasoned for me and unfortunately I didn't really get much flavour from the stone bass and was a bit bland however the pops from the Dill and other herbs was lovely just needed that tiny touch of salt to unmute the flavor. It was perfectly cooked and flaked off beautifully. The stir fried beef was perfectly cooked and very tender but for me I feel like it was a bit heavy with the dark soy which overpowered the taste from the beef. The baby Cucumbers with the Mustard seeds and curry Leaves was nice and again perfectly cooked had that crunch still there even though it was sauteed and wasn't over powered by the spices The egg fried rice was a bit dissapointing it was a bit brand but i assumed maybe it is intentional as everything else had a lot of flavour. All in all I really enjoyed the food but for the price I don't think it is the best ive had. Service was impeccable and would definitely come again.

The food was average for any restaurant, let alone a fine dining restaurant, I thought the salmon starter was the best part. Our waiter was very unsure about everything, asking if we'd had everything at various stages - surely they should know?! It took ages for our last course to come out and ditto for the bill. £42 per person for their current menu which isn't horrendous but the portions are tiny, and the drinks were incredibly expensive at £22 for a cocktail and £10 for a Meantime IPA. Service charge at 15% and they weren't funny when I asked for it to be removed.

Extremely disappointing experience. My wife, who is pregnant, specifically ordered a mocktail, yet she was served an alcoholic drink. This is completely unacceptable and could have had serious consequences. On top of that, the service was poor—our table received the wrong order, and one of the desserts we ordered never arrived. The food itself was average at best, with only a couple of decent starters, but overall, it was nothing special. Given the high prices, you would expect much better service and quality. Overall, it was a waste of money, time, and an extremely underwhelming experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Disappointing experience. First, I specifically requested a mocktail as I don't drink alcohol, yet the waiters brought me an alcoholic drink. Then, they served the wrong order to our table, and to top it off, they forgot one of the desserts, bringing only one instead of what we had ordered. The food itself was underwhelming-only a few of the starters were enjoyable, but overall, it wasn't worth it. You're essentially just paying for the view from The Shard, but even then, you'll need to spend an extra £50 per person for a guaranteed window seat. For the price, the experience is a complete waste of money and time— extremely underwhelming with poor service and mediocre food. You're better off going elsewhere for better food, better service, and far better value. Honestly extremely disappointed with my experience here, I'm extremely frustrated with the alcoholic drink, as a Muslim that's one of the worst things that can happen for me and I feel disgusted with being served alcohol. Very dissatisfied, disgusted and disappointed especially paying so much for highly underwhelming meal and experience.

Honestly, I was so disappointed in the food at the Ting. I went today, a Saturday, and I believed a day after valentine the food would be tasty. I ordered the chicken satay and scallops for starters - they were so bland, and the peanut sauce for satay chicken was so disgusting. I have had so much better at far less established restaurants. For mains we had the chicken and prawn (wok) and the bang bang noodles with the egg fried rice - so so so bland. The food had no salt. I need to mention it took 1 hour and 15mins from the start to receive the mains. The food was so poor in taste. Nothing was ‘yum’. Nothing was scrumptious. So dissatisfying. Not worth the money, please do not visit! I could make better food at home.

What a let down! I’ve been wanting to try a restaurant in the Shard for ages and I was so so so disappointed by Ting! The views were obviously wonderful and the setting was lovely but that’s about it. The food was bad, I left with such a bad aftertaste. Portions were small and some of it arrived cold. The service wasn’t up to the standing of the place. I was surprised to see “the sommelier” wasn’t even a WSET level 2 certified, which makes it quite doubtful for a 5 star place! The waitress was nice enough but it was her first day and didn’t know much about the menu, she kept saying I’ll check with the chef and never got back to us regarding questions we had on food. Overall it was a very disappointing experience! The only fun thing was the toilets… I won’t spoil it but go and check them out, highlight of my visit… Ting, you did NOT live up to my expectations!

The service was quite slow and the manager, Jing wasn’t helpful at all. they took a long time to get me the tea filter and didn’t pour the tea for me at the first time, the sandwiches also took ages to come and they tasted quite blend, only the coronation chicken was fine, all others were thing fillings, dumplings were ok, the tea/coffee were all bad as well. The patisserie was ok, can taste it’s not freshly made, only the scone tasted good but the jam wasn’t nice. Overall I’d say it’s just selling the view, if you’d like tasty food go for other similar price tea like Milestones, Browns, Savoy or Cafe Royal. After two disappointed experiences I’ll never be back.

Let’s be clear, you are always going to be paying for the view at a place like this, and the views do deliver, but with a dinner for two coming in at over £300, the food was remarkably average.. Starting with the good, the drinks were great: excellent cocktails, and wine delivered by a sommelier operating at the level you would expect at a place like this, as was the front of house. As for the somewhat revolving door of other wait staff serving our table, all were pleasant, though most seemed to have a tenuous grasp on the English language and were lacking that high level of service you would expect. The interiors give the impression that they haven’t been updated since the shard was built, as it does the menu, I cannot knock the urinals with a view of the city, however! There was live music the night we went and the performers were excellent, though a little loud for a dinner setting. Overall, this is a place geared up for one-time visitors looking for dinner with a view, and anyone London-based would likely be better off spending these Michelin star prices on some of the many amazing Michelin star food options the city has to offer.

This is my 2nd Afternoon Tea at Ting, overall it’s a great experience, the restaurant is very nice, great deco, great atmosphere all very clean and slick. They have a couple of live performers who are great and create a very nice ambiance. Above all are the amazing views of the city, my top tip is to check what time the sunsets and get time slot so you can watch the sun go down, it’s quite a treat. The service is also good with staff being friendly and helpful. The reason for the lower rating is that sadly this time the food was a let down, the sandwiches were dry, like when they are left out for a prolonged period, at the price you pay you would not expect that. As part of their lunar afternoon tea menu, the savoury items were dumplings which tasted very nice but were cold. The sweet items were all good as were the warm scones. There is a wide range of unlimited tea which is also very good. There is a shard shaped sweet treat that comes on this Smokey dish which looks pretty cool. One random thing, the loos have views too 😊

I had a wonderful evening at Ting and chose the five-course tasting menu, which was satisfying right from the amuse-bouche. However, the seabass was overly salty, which I believe was unintentional. The highlight for me was the Scottish scallop—it was absolutely perfect. One of my friends doesn’t eat meat, so venison loin was replaced with wok-fried chicken, and it turned out to be fantastic. The soba chocolate, though, was quite underwhelming, it is just not my taste probably. The main server, Dimera, she was quite helpful and friendly. Thanks to her. Firstly you can’t fault the venue. The location is top notch and the views are breathless. Sadly that doesn’t make up for the tea that’s served. We were politely shown to our table and given the menu. We gave our drinks order then had to wait 50 minutes before we got our drinks. The food was about 10 minutes behind that. The bread on the sandwiches was a little dry on a few pieces and I sent them back. The next lot were almost the same but my wife said she didn’t want to make a fuss so I didn’t return the second batch. Although refills were complimentary, everything took forever to arrive. And when it did arrive they then arrived again a few minutes later. Poor communication. The sweet selection looked lovely, sadly the cream cakes were warm and thus runny. As a result the flavours had mixed and they didn’t taste all that good. I did like the twist on the scones. Not raisin but cranberry and the jam too was cranberry instead of strawberry. Overall experience: lovely location. Average food. Poor service. Pricey for what it was. Unless they can offer a show of good faith to try it again, we won’t be going back or recommending. I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was absolutely unacceptable. The food we were served had clearly been cooked in old, overused oil, which gave everything a strange, unpleasant taste. It was not fresh, and the quality was questionable from the first bite. To make matters worse, after dining here, my entire family fell ill with food poisoning. We spent the next day dealing with severe stomach issues, which completely ruined our plans. What made this experience even more outrageous was the price. The total bill for our dinner exceeded £500, with £98 charged per person. For that price, we expected a high-quality, memorable dining experience, but instead, we received poorly prepared food that left us sick. This level of negligence is inexcusable, especially for a place charging such exorbitant prices. I would strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant unless they take serious steps to improve their hygiene, food preparation standards, and pricing to reflect the actual quality of what they serve.

You’re going for the view. :Food: Curry chicken salad sandwich and beef sandwich were good. The other two not. On second tier were small rolls stuffed with something. One had beets and sunflowers in a little day old brioche roll. . I would call the scones demi-scones, small. Bread was dry, scones were not warm and were “day old”. Nothing fresh here. Dessert was not flavorful. Fusion flavors-not traditional. Not a single person at my table of four ate any of the desserts fully. The gingerbread with red frosting on top is superb. This is served extra on the table. Ask for seconds. Service was poor. Stiff, and never present. We had to wave down our waiter for a new pot when the not so hot tea went cold. With regard to atmosphere: nicely decorated for Christmas. This is not a white tablecloth service. We asked for a window view and we got a view that did not include the Thames. Specifically ask for a view that shows a Tower Bridge. An expensive experience at 79 pounds per person. . Visiting from Boston and topped off our Christmas London trip with this. Disappointing. If you’re doing it as a tourist, go for a more traditional tea at another restaurant get free tickets to the Skyline. Or even pay go to the top of the Shard . Addendum: I think these most recent 5 star reviews are plants to offset the poor reviews early December. No way…I feel like a sucker for paying for this. Nancy Venditti, Boston

I was expecting it to be overpriced but the Ting afternoon Tea is amazing and 100% worth the value you pay. The atmosphere is beautiful calm, and modern. It has a very cozy warm feel which is perfect for a cold rainy late afternoon in London. The view is great overlooking the Thames and the perfect view of Tower Bridge. The staff are very friendly, eager to engage with you and our Afternoon Tea was explained wonderfully by the staff. The choice of Tea is extensive and it's great you can have an unlimited amount. The sandwiches and the desserts tasted great. The desserts and the Shard cake were filled with mousse which was so light and delicious. Also of note were the scones which are served fresh and warm. Afternoon tea was also very filling. The pictures do not do it justice. 100% recommend it is a very high quality experience.

Splendid evening at Ting at the Shard. View and experience was obviously the main thing we went for, but the absolute exquisite food topped off the entire evening. A massive thank you to Diego and the chef. We highly appreciated the service and the tailored dishes to accommodate for my food allergies. We'll be dreaming of that Hoisin Duck Cannoli and Glazed Pork Belly for a while to come!

My friends and I recently went to the Ting to celebrate Thanksgiving. We were seated by the window without having to request them for it. The view from the 35th floor is amazing and definitely worthwhile. The atmosphere of the restaurant is more of a relaxing lounge which was reflected in the service as it was quite relaxed. In terms of food, we chose the 3 course festive menu starting with their crab salad, devon salmon with jasmine rice, and festive vacherine for dessert. The crab salad was a bit bland and had a strong fishy taste. The salmon dish was good with a nice aroma of the lemongrass but also had a very strong fishy taste and the salmon was a tad bit dry. The dessert was quite nice. We had cocktails and a bottle of white wine with our food recommended by the Sommelier. They were all really good and paired really well with the food. Overall, definitely worthwhile for drinks and the view.

As first time visitors from NYC, we made a reservation at Ting for afternoon tea for that British experience. Positives: great view, beautiful restaurant, very friendly and professional staff, and the teas were pretty good (highly recommend the China Milky, cherry blossom, and jasmine green tea). Negatives: sandwiches were a bit bland (curry chicken was sandwich tasted the best); with the exception of the scones, all of the desserts tasted terrible. We’ve had way better desserts at Starbucks and Pret than at this restaurant. Given how expensive the afternoon tea was (79 pounds per person), we expected much better quality food; thus, I gave this place a 2 stars rating.

The food was fine. The starter was made way in advance and the crab foam had lost its foaminess and developed a bit of a skin, overall it wasn't particularly flavoursome. The main was fine but the spicy sauce on the Pak Choi overpowered everything else The desert was fine, the flavour more curious than enjoyable and mine was still frozen. The wine was fine but expensive for what it was. The service was fine, friendly but disjointed and uneducated in some of the dishes, my starter was served without appropriate cutlery. The view is obviously great, but we've seen that a few times now, I'm not sure we'd come again for an average meal at high end prices.

The experience at The Shard was truly magical, with an incredible view that took my breath away. However, the food was quite disappointing. My husband planned our first anniversary dinner at Ting restaurant, but unfortunately, the meal fell short of expectations. We opted for the five-course taster menu, but the fusion of flavors simply didn’t work. The chicken was dry and lacked seasoning, while the steak had an unappealing texture that was off-putting. Although the dessert was enjoyable, I can't justify the £320 price tag for the overall experience. I genuinely believe that for the same amount, you could travel to another country and have a much better dining experience. Overall, I regret choosing this place to celebrate our anniversary. The exorbitant prices and subpar meal just didn’t align at all. If you're looking to enjoy the view, I’d recommend visiting the London Eye instead.

The view is breathtaking as is the ambience and decor but sadly after 3 visits between 2 friends the food is very poor and price is astronomical £39 for a lobster roll with absolutely no taste whatsoever -thank goodness it came with ketchup!! Afternoon tea again very poor and the tea was honestly no better than dishwater-I was so disappointed esp as it was for my 40th birthday…. I didn’t want to spoil the atmosphere so didn’t say anything at the time ….. we left and grabbed a bag of chips on the way home! Lovely service I would only return for the view, no food again!

Awful experience, went to celebrate a 30th birthday afternoon tea. Was seated for almost 20 minutes before someone came up to us for our order. Food arrived and was average, trying to get the attention of staff was near impossible and when eye contact made you were ignored. When we finally did manage to get a hold of staff we waited 30-40minutes for our orders, very confusing as they were not busy and numerous other tables came in after us and also left before us. The afternoon is extremely over priced for what is being offered with average food and non existent service, the only wow factor is the view but other than that it is quite pathetic. Would not recommend especially if you are going to celebrate a special occasion. Spend your money elsewhere!

I booked a table for afternoon tea at TING- The Shard today, hoping for a great view and quality service. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. When we arrived, we were directed to a table at the end of the bar, despite my preference for a spot with a better view and ambience at the beginning of the bar. No specific table was assigned during the online booking, so I was disappointed that my request couldn’t be accommodated, especially as there seemed to be space. Additionally, I ordered a fresh juice, but what I received tasted like a pre-pressed juice that had been sitting for hours. When I politely asked the staff if it was freshly made, they insisted it was, but the taste suggested otherwise. This felt misleading and didn’t match the quality I was expecting from a place of this standard. While our waitress was friendly, the overall experience lacked the honesty and attentiveness I look for in a high-end establishment. I hope the management considers improving transparency with customers going forward. However, not planning to go three anytime soon after today's experience.

Ting at The Shard offers a truly magical experience. If you want to take in some of London’s best views — including London Bridge and the Tower of London — make sure to book your reservation early. From the moment you arrive, the ambiance is breathtaking, and you won't be able to access the floor without a reservation, which adds to the exclusivity. Our server, Marie, was incredible. She took the time to explain everything in detail and walked us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations, making the experience even more memorable. The tea selection was exceptional, and the service overall was top-notch. While the food spread may not be the most impressive in terms of flavor, the experience is really all about the views and atmosphere. Be prepared to spend quite a bit, but if you're here for the setting and the moment, it's worth every penny. We had an amazing time and enjoyed every second, especially with Marie’s attentive guidance.

Where to start, I booked in advance for my partners birthday and a proposal. I asked for a window seat and booked a cake aswell which was an additional cost. When arriving at the bottom floor reception and at the restraint the staff are so polite and respectful. I got the chicken stir fry and Beef noodles and did not disappoint. The view was amazing and pictures don’t do it justice. The waiters were very good topping up the water when required and coming over at times to check on you. I would say it is definitely worth it the money for a special occasion or even if you don’t visit London often. Would go again. Food was very good in terms of dietary requirements

The afternoon tea menu has almost all the food in pink, and they taste better than the looks. The interesting part with the ~£80 afternoon tea is that, both the tea, the food and the desserts get unlimited refills. So it might be quite confusing at the beginning trying to order single items from the menu; instead, almost the whole menu is served as the first round. They even offered a new pot of tea with new tea leaves for the refill.

It's decent. The food is okay relative to the price and portions. The food is expensive for what you get. Atmosphere is amazing due to the view if you can manage to get seated near the window. The service is polite and possibly a bit too in your face with very little substance. A lot of halal stuff and they do cater for allergy I would have still given this a 5 star review, but for a few things. 1 - there is one lady on the reception who on two occasions showed a nasty attitude. I think she has slightly died hair. But forgot, for my own sanity. We came here twice during our stay at Shangri La. On the first occasion she made a nasty face when I gave her my name. It didn't come across nice, but maybe it's her face. Than in the second occasion we came to our booking, on our booking it was clear we wanted a city view. My wife checked for a table she liked beforehand and saw it was free. The waitress was seating us in a quiet and isolated area. My wife wanted to sit on the other side of the restaurant. The waitress said there is no space, my wife said she did see 2 tables free, in the kindest way. The waitress had a outburst and said in the most tasteless way 'okay, show me then'. We showed her and she asked the people managing that area of the restaurant if the table was free and they said it was. That let me know the woman had an issue either with us, I hope it wasn't racism or just a rude person who should not be a staff at a high end place. 2 - the service is slow for afternoon tea. Extremely slow. If you ask for a top up it takes a long time for everything. Even when the restaurant is not busy. 3 - they did not do anything special for our anniversary. On previous occasions visiting here we got cake or dessert. On this occasion we got nothing.

Went there for a special marriage anniversary that we’ve been looking forward to for months. The location and the hotel itself is amazing with stunning views. But the service was below average I would say if we are talking about the prices they are charging. We were disappointed by the service as we had so many little inconveniences but no one from that staff was attentive enough to spot it or to correct it when it appeared. We were walked to a table near the window that was so much darker than the table next to us which was decorated romantically and we thought that’s for us considering that we informed them about our anniversary. We were given the dark table but they acknowledged our anniversary then. Other small things that let us down: E.g we booked an a la carte menu, but were given 3-course set menu. We came with jackets and left them on our chairs, no one offered to put those in the clock room until we asked for. We were served bread and butter after a table that arrived 10min after us. We were given a second time bread and butter but a lady dressed in black cleared off the plates and then brought them back realising that we want more bread and only then the lady offered to put the napkins on our laps. When the starters arrived the light on our table was soo bad compared with the next table and we pulled up our phones and 🔦 to take a picture of the food - again, no one spotted our little inconvenience. After that we asked to change the table as we’d like to see what we’re eating. After we finished our mains which took more than 1.5h to arrive since we stepped in the restaurant. After finishing the mains which were very delicious our table was cleared, but I had to ask Efean to come and clean it again as there were still some leftovers on the table. When setting the table, the lady provided us with spoons and one of them remained on the table until the desert came - no one updated the table cutlery correctly and finally gave it back to Efean when the desert arrived. For a £200 dinner we didn’t feel valued much and we are not super fancy eaters or to complain about as we’ve tried thousands of restaurants all over the world. Upon our departure Eafon listened to our comments and apologies on the name of team and we left a tip only for him as the others shouldn’t be in a 5*/1 Michelin Star Restaurant. Recommendation: please hire more staff and think about the furniture that you buy as they make or break a customer’s experience- I was with my knees in my neck the entire meal as their tables and seats are tooo small/low.

We visited Ting for an afternoon tea. The views of London were stunning, the selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones was beautifully presented. The tea menu was diverse and service was great overall. I felt the food could have been better with some of the bread being a little stale and the cakes lacking in flavour. Our service started brilliantly but I think our waitress must have finished her shift as the attentiveness of the staff significantly reduced towards the end of our experience. Overall we enjoyed our time and you’re mainly there for the view which was great. We were given a seat right next to the window so we were able to make the most of it!

A surreal experience! Explosion of flavors with an unforgettable view of London. They are on my list of unmissable restaurants to visit. Great place to celebrate a special date, like we celebrated our friends' daughter's 15th birthday. This special date will certainly be forever kept in her memory and in that of all of us who had the privilege of celebrating with her.

ordered the Beef Tataki for starters which felt undercooked, vinegar wasnt optional and didnt taste very nice, then ordered Gressingham Duck for mains which was a small portion and wok fried aubergine which felt plain and wasn’t able to finish and with both these starters we ordered rice which was fairly good. Finally ordered Soba-chocolate for dessert which was not too bad however it could be better. The a la carte menue sounds good however the menu we had been given was the 5 course and 3 course and both had limited options that didn’t sound appealing, the food was not appetising and i generally feel like the food let the restaurant down especially how much it costs. The drinks were not too bad but could’ve been better as there is a low option for non-alcoholic drinks. However, the service was amazing the server that was taking our orders was well mannered and amazing. And every other staff was very sweet.

The food here is lovely, spot on. The service really needs a lot of attention. We waited nearly 30 minutes just to be asked if we would like a drink and everything felt a bit disjointed. The worst thing by far though was their approach to allergy awareness. We emailed to advise we had a guest with a serious fish allergy, and the waiting staff asked whom the person was upon arrival. However, she was given a separated seafood starter (we were on the sharing menu) - how this could happen beggars belief, there could have been a serious incident had I not spotted the error, it really was unforgivable. With hindsight I should have refused to pay the service charge but I didn't want to make a fuss infront of my guests. I would return simply because the food is very good, it's a real shame that the service is so sloppy and poor.

My boyfriend and I came here for supper last week after buying a voucher from wowcher- £19 for a 5 course carribean meal. Like some of the other reviews I've read- we almost missed the entrance as it isn't well lit nor even looks open from the outside. The restaurant itself is huge and we were only in there with about 4 other people. The food was fresh and tasty- I really enjoyed the jerk chicken starter as well as the sunshine fish which I had as my main. It was slightly disappointing that one of the starters and one of the mains were sold out as it made the menu slightly more limited. I would say worth a visit but if you're looking for atmosphere then this isn't the place for you.
