I can’t describe how amazing the service was at Mumbai bites. First of all the The guy serving us was really sweet and he came all the way outside the restaurant when we forgot to take our take away. We love you bro and will never forgot you ! 🥺

Delicious Indian cuisine and also halal food. During 3 days stay in Sandown, we enjoyed dinners at Mumbai bites. We tested several menus and all meals are yummy and tasteful.. Thanks..

Restaurant was very clean. The eating area was well kept and in good order. They were very eager to help us with the restrictions we had. They were able to make food that was vegan and Jain (no onion no garlic) very easily. The food had plenty of flavor. We told them to make some food mild and some food spicy and it definitely was. The attention to detail was exceptional and all the dishes had a very unique and distinct flavor to each dish. They did a great job listening to us with all our needs and they delivered 100% to our expectations.

The food ( chicken tawa and tarka daal ) was really good. Staff was friendly. I want the ambience to improve. Overall it was a good experience.

During my 2 days stay in Sandown, I decided to try Mumbai Bites, a hidden gem that offers a delightful vegetarian dining experience. The restaurant's atmosphere was cozy, with friendly staff that made the experience even better. Despite the small seating area, the food more than made up for it, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and portions, which were more than generous. Prices were reasonable, making it a great spot for a satisfying, budget-friendly meal. Overall, Mumbai Bites is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for tasty vegetarian options during a trip to Sandown.

Absolutely stunning food, staff are lovely, very small to sit in but very comfortable and because you can take your own drink it keeps the cost down making it a lovely evening. We go weekly because the food is that good

The food was bad. We asked for desi style and all we tasted was spice. The curry had no taste whatsoever. The person working in the front spoke very little English. Was hard to communicate. Although the meal we had was expensive but disappointing. Won’t return here

Tried Mumbai bites for the first time tonight, and it was fantastic! The staff were so friendly, and the chicken korma was delicious!! The Mango chutney is lovely and fresh, and the mint yoghurt is so fresh and tasty! Will definitely be returning for a sit down meal next time!

We had a delivery of a takeaway for 17 people. The food was all delicious and all correct ( no mean feat for 17 of us)! Specially chicken tk masala &chicken jalfaze so yum 😋!Will definitely be ordering again.

Been coming to IOW for 10 years to our mobile home and how we have never visited this little gem I don’t know! Food 10/10 and its bring your own booze - what more could you ask for - only 14 covers so feels more like a cafe but not in a bad way - great for an early evening dinner!

Visited on carnival night and it was quiet due to the carnival but became busy after. Service was so kind and polite. Food was very nice and very reasonably priced, thoroughly enjoyable meal.

This place was a life saver. It was the only real halal option for us during our stay in the nearby premier inn. We had this for lunch on one day at the beach and for dinner another day in the restaurant. The food is tasty especially the saag paneer. When in the restaurant Tayeem really looked after us, thank you.

Excellent and tasty food, 5 stars. Khalid was excellent as well. Shahi chicken and balti was lush.

So lucky to have found this gem for a late night bite. We had the Vindaloo with Prawns and basmati rice and it was delicious. It warmed our hungry bellies and the waiter was delightful and welcoming even though they were closing soon.

We have been in isle of wight for 3 days and we visited the restaurant 2 times because the halal options are very few in isle of wight. Their food quality is good and fresh but their portions are relatively small… their naans are yummy but expensive… overall the food experience was good…

Went to visit isle of white. Passed this place and went in as halal food. Great service and food was delicious. Family enjoyed dinner after a very busy day.

Having been to Isle of Wight for the first time with family, wasn't sure what to expect in terms of Halal restaurants near by. But this spectacular restaurant did not let us down. Dont be fooled by the looks of the restaurant but what Amazing food they prepare. My eldest daughter is extremely fussy when it comes to Indian but she thoroughly enjoyed the Lamb biryani. Everything was delicious, huge thumbs up to the Chef Khaled, and the young waiters. Thank you for making our stay pleasant with your amazing quality of food.

Food is delicious. We had ordered fish curry and the fish was good quality with yummy gravy. We all enjoyed the good service.

Went there yesterday night 17th August. Was a nice experience. Food was piping hot when arrived, tasty too. Ordered a vindaloo and bubba with rice. Short wait for cook time about 15mins but was served drinks prior to food ✅. Wonderful experience chatting with the staff member at the end, friendly and courteous. Fairly quiet in the evening around 9pm with at least 2 tables free closer towards 10pm. Toilets also available at this restaurant✅

Great little restaurant, near the beach and walking distance from the hotel. Food was great along with the service.

I’ve been lucky enough to have this place on my doorstep for a while now. I tell family and friends and tourists about it in person! Quality , authentic (so I’m told by said tourists whilst dining) and great value 👌🏻 Always a smile, food is the global language 🙂

Had a very filling yummy meal after a very exhausting day. The Naga chicken and the lamb buriyani was full of flavour. And it is Halal too.

Really bad experience with this restaurant. Food really disappointed us. Staff so rude , even restaurant is open til 11pm they decided to lied us 10 min later that they gonna be busy coz of they booking. So we can’t take an any table just take away. Funny thing is 30 min later no one there. Absolutely no recommend !

Pros: Good location, Freshly cooked food, Service is good, treat all same as observed, and asking for what can be improved. Naan is good to try. Good serving bowls, hot plates. Salt lassy is thick in consistency. Cons/Improvments: Small dining area, max 16 people and not much room to move.more of a takeaway place. May be some masala added in rice items would give spicy indian taste. General: Restaurant name can be Bangladesh Bites rather.

I have Sea Bass fillet pan fried and sizzling Tandoori King Prawns plus basmati rice and buner sauce. Very nice. Staffs are friendly and helpful. A lovely place to have my evening Indian meal.

This is not at all an authentic indian food place as they claim. Went for dinner yesterday and received food which was no where close to indian taste. When the server asked for feedback the same was told to him but they did not even ask what was wrong in the food. I have been here before in 2022 the food was amazing then ,hence went again. But totally opposite now.

This is my favourite curry house, maybe the best on the Isle of Wight. We get a takeaway almost every week, order inside the restaurant and have a pint at The Old Comical whilst you wait.

Chose to collect rather than get delivery, had two chicken mains, rice and naan. Really tasty, will happily revisit. Find it very difficult to get good Indian food on IOW, but keep trying! This was a good meal.

TLDR at bottom. Just had our takeaway from Mumbai Bites and it was excellent. We ordered for 7 adults, (with a side portion of chips to keep the small kids happy). In all l, 7 main dishes, 4 rice to share, some sides and naan bread, plus the usual poppadoms. All of which came in at £100 (with a 10% discount for collection). Usually when we order a large amount like this, we end up with a dish wrong somewhere, the food slightly warm and not hot, or something not right somewhere. But not here!!! The food was superb, and freshly hot, so much so, that it was cooking my leg in the car on the way back to the Airbnb. Every dish was spot on, not a single mistake, and the quality of it all was excellent. Every dish tasted different (sometimes weve found that dishes can taste quite similar) and everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. We all would highly recommend and had we been staying for longer and not ordered on our last night, we would be going back for sure. TLDR: great food, lovely people, hot and fresh food, plus a discount for collecting. Would order again for sure and it wasn't expensive.

The food at Mumbai bite was not at all delightful. Despite claiming to serve Mumbai or Indian cuisine, it was evident that their dishes did not live up to that standard. Not only was the atmosphere shabby, but the lack of knowledge concerning the dishes being served was quite apparent. A prime example of this was when we requested butter chicken and were served a yellow curry that had a strong taste of coconut oil. Shockingly, the staff confirmed that this was indeed butter chicken. This misguided attempt at such a beloved dish left us feeling utterly disappointed and perplexed. To make matters worse, even the beverage selection was subpar. The coke we ordered was disappointingly feeble in its fizziness, further adding to our unpleasant experience. It is disheartening to conclude that this restaurant falls far short in serving authentic Indian cuisine. Our encounter with their food was nothing short of bad, leaving us with a deep sense of dissatisfaction.

Our mission, to eat at every indian restaurant on the isle if wight. This is a little gem. I had already had a takeaway and was impressed with that. The restaurant is more like a cafe with only a couple of tables and they do not serve alcohol so you need to take your own, but don’t let this put you off. The food served was very tasty with a good depth of flavour. The lamb jalfrezi, my go to test for any indian restaurant melted in the mouth, accompanied by a garlicky tadka dhal and saag paneer. Service was a little slow but not a major problem and the owner very friendly and hospitable. On our rating 8/10.

I tried this restaurant for the first time and I was blown away by the curry I had, it was incredible and so authentic tasting I could have been back in India! My compliments to the chef, I will definately be back.

Lovely little Indian Cafe in Sandown. Friendly, attentive Staff. Very good selection of Currys and Sides. No Alcohol but, you can bring your own! They do home delivery too. I would recommend for a no frills but, tasty, well priced Indian meal.

Just had the best Takeaway in Sandown Pasanda and Madras both perfectly spiced and delicious. Definitely can recommend and will be using Mumbi bites again

We went there with kids and requested for simple vegetarian non spicy food. The food served was perfect for kids who cannot eat any spice, flavoured well and good quantity

I had a home delivery. All dishes ordered was good except for Lamb biryani. The worst lamb biryani I ever had

Recommended by the manager of our local Indian restaurant in Leicester, to visit while on holiday. Small but very friendly venue. Food was extremely tasty, piping hot and portion size was good. Only comment I have is that the tables weren't cleared of starter plates, when the mains came out so we had to move things around the table. Not a big issue though and didn't detract from the great food.

Lovely intimate restaurant we were lucky to get a table booking so I would advise to book to avoid disappointment, the service was great and we were greeted by very welcoming staff, nothing was too much. The food was amazing and cooked to our preferences (some in the group can't handle spice) and the staff recommended dishes to accommodate this which was very helpful, have been back again in the same week for takeaway this time and the food was just as delicious as dine in, keep up the great work x

The worst ever indian food I ever had.. They gave sheek kebab which is rotten. And the tandoori chicken is very bad 👎..

Stay away for your own health and safety. Shrek kebab was spoilt ..don't know how many days old .tandoori chicken was the same and had to be thrown away as it smelt bad. These restaurants should be shut for safety and health of others . terrible food .

Excellent! Des saveurs indiennes succulentes et un personnel avenant ! Surtout que nous sommes arrivés à 15mins de l'heure de fermeture! Le restaurant nous a gentiment accepté et nous a permis de déguster un des meilleurs curry depuis longtemps ! Des naans savoureux en plus ! Que dire de plus, sinon que nous avons passé un superbe moment ! Encore merci!

Cannot call this authentic food of India. Diabetic people be warned. Make sure you take double dose of insulin. Food was really bad and extremely sweet. I really feel bad for the customers, they really missing out. Come on chef.

Decent place, not very big probably seats about 12-15 people. We went about 6pm and the place was empty. We were greeted by the waiter. Asked for a table for 4. He had to think about it before signalling us to take a seat at the nearest table. Menu is quite extensive and prices reasonable. I think its one of these bring your own booze places. So heads up if you fancy a beer or wine with your meal. Portions are pretty big. Food is standard but nice. One of the dishes I picked was a mild dish, however the waiter did explain this and asked if I wanted it a little spicier. Didn't have to wait long for the food. Came out piping hot! Was an enjoyable experience would go again, if I was in the area. We were on holiday and at the beach, so this place was convenient as it was a 5 minute walk from the beach.

Not close to authentic Indian taste. We ordered a takeaway and they delayed our order by 45 mins without informing us. Food itself was quite average.. we paid for main dish but they packed side dish portion.. veg biryani and stuffed naan were ok. I appreciate the call from the restaurant manager where he explained the delay that day and offered a refund for the mixup between main dish and side dish.

Went to this restaurant very bad experience ordered starters and main owner came and said one starter has finished and I said that’s fine wen I received mix grill all it was full of red colour very tasteless waiting for main asked twice when it arrived was tikka curry very pale in colour chicken was raw from inside I asked for another roti and was told another 20-30 min I have to have wait I said my food will get cold by then all I got was sorry customers were coming and going and they were getting refused seating as it’s all booked but no one had come whilst we was there customers were coming for collection either they were waiting far way to long or some food was missing the owner can’t handle pressure and he was walking away a lot of people and telling them there are other restaurants when I went to pay was charged extra then had to go and ask and was said sorry and then paid write amount and this happened to another customer just before I paid very bad experience never again and tasteless and raw food please don’t waste your money in here

Had a dinner here with 3 the 16th of June. All vegetarian dishes were very tasteful. The service was good and friendly. The restaurant looks not fancy but the price is very reasonable. I would recommend this place.

We were the only guests for dine-in. A family came later but were politely refused entry by the restaurant owner as they were busy with online orders. We were served very swiftly. Food was not bad but we had high hopes of this place given the online reviews we had read. The Veg Cutlets were not holding together very well and were too oily. Rest of the food was ok. Sadly we were not offered a proper VAT invoice and were given a hand written total on a paper which did not seem a valid receipt. Overall a mixed bag of experience for us. Try at your own risk else head out to Cardamom with a pre-booking.

Early evening. Bank Holiday Monday. Called in to see if they had a table free. They did. And what a result. Food was stunning, well cooked, well presented, well spiced, served hot and as described on the menu. Couldn’t fault it. Couple of tablecloths wouldn’t go amiss to counter that “basic” feel. No alcoholic beverage menu offered but it didn’t matter. The food’s the thing. There are a number of good Asian / Indian restaurants on the Isle of Wight but this has to be the best. Busy but tiny restaurant which also does takeaways.
