Bay Leaf Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Isle of Wight

Just had the most delicious vegetable curry from here, absolutely gorgeous, thanks for the extras too. Really recommend, already have! Cant wait to have again when i stay in sandown/lake.

10 of us visted the restaurant on Wednesday evening. Without exception we all had a fantastic meal. The food was delicious. There was depth of flavour in each dish. Our food came out quickly, was piping hot and served by staff who couldn't do enough for us. I cannot recommend the Bayleaf any higher. One of the best meals I have had in years. Thank you

Four of us went out around 7 o'clock on a Thursday (we don'tdo late nights). As it was very quiet at that time, we had no problem with the service. We all enjoyed our meal, mine being by far the best one I've had in the 11 years of living on the island. And, of course, taking your own drink makes for a cheaper night.

Great food at a great price all served quickly by really lovely friendly staff. We will have to visit more often. Couldn't recommend any higher. Thanks Bayleaf

My family and I were staying at a resort in St Helens and the food was brought to us there. Everything was absolutely delicious and still very hot. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Best takeaway experience ever!

I been this restaurant week ago and there food was really delicious and fresh & couple of items i never seen anywhere else and i totally appreciated there customer service which was amazing then environment always nice and lovely .

The first time I had a takeaway it was the best Indian I’ve ever had. The same with all the other times, Sam puts so much authenticity and love into his dishes and his service to the customers you cannot fault it. I will continue to get my Indian from bayleaf in my opinion it’s the best on the island. Big love Bayleaf Team!

Visited isle of white with family today visited bayleaf indian restraunt best food by the chef and excellent customer service by management.

I been eating indian food for years up north working in isle of white this week with my colleague so we went to this indian over the road amd it was brilliant food is really tasty recommended by the chef customer service is 10/10 👌

Amazing food. I had the lamb handy gosht which was fantastic. My partner had the tandoori king prawn masala which was so delicious. 100% recommend. Very friendly, we will certainly be back.

We enjoyed a nice meal here. The restaurant was quite quiet as it was a Sunday evening, however, the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and portions were generous.

We were very impressed with the quality of food and service, with a smile, run by a lovely couple. The price was very reasonable too. They do not have a license to serve alcohol but you can take your own. You can order a takeaway if you wish. We would highly recommend.

Had a very nice meal here last week - great pickle tray with very fresh poppadoms, then baltis, naan and rice. Naan was outstanding balti delicious and the rice was great. Service was friendly and prompt but not hurried. Delightful.

Staying at white cliff bay holiday park and they delivered for £6 delivery to here, driver was really good ( it’s a caravan holiday park ). Food was good, chicken pakora wasn’t all that wouldn’t recommend though the masala ect was very nice. Thanks

Just had lovely banquet meal , Sam & staff looked after us very well , I had Lamb Sag, as always meat melts in mouth , & was so looking forward to there Nan Bread , you Won't taste better anywhere. Also Banquet price is still £16.99, as was last year. Brilliant guys 😇

Book a table over the phone for 8pm do 4 people,we have been regular customers to a degree of recent.Met with a virlmof about 15 who is clueless,can't speak hardly any English and just sd 8.30m?..I said no we've booked a table at 8am.Restaraunt was overly busy and clearly had no idea how to treat people..no explanation just left us waiting in the lobby Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Visiting IOW for a week's holiday. Our dinner plans fell through so needed something to be delivered to Bembridge. Ordering online was quick and delivery arrived earlier than expected. Delivery driver was amazing and food was out of this world. Best Indian takeaway I've had in my 34 years. We had the chicken tikka rogon, garlic chilli chicken, onion bhaji, pilau rice and garlic naan. Would honestly return to IOW just for this meal :) thank you!

I went for vacation with my family and went to BAY LEAF Indian Restaurant due to hunger. Welcome service was wonderful . Then I ordered Indian foods. It was a very delicious meal.The restaurant was very quiet and the music was great,I thank the head chef for serving such a beautiful meal

I have been for dinner it is very nice food , I really liked it ,prices are also very reasonable.

We visited Bayleaf restaurant on a lazy Thursday evening. We were greeted with a smile and served delicious food. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes were delectable. Chef was kind enough to keep some of the dishes mild enough for the kids. Butter garlic naan was fluffy and soft. Our favourites were garlic chicken, mutton curry and matar paneer. Mango and mint chutney that come with poppadoms could have been better. Definitely recommended if you are looking for good indian curry.

We ordered a take away delivery from here 3 times while on holiday spending well over £150. The first 2 times we were obviously pleased with which is why we ordered for the third time. The third time was a Saturday night so I’m guessing they were busy, but no excuse for the mess up they made. We were staying at a holiday park near by and the driver continuously rang us to say he couldn’t find our caravan, which we understand can be hard to find, but we would have been happy to collect from reception again as we did the first 2 times, this went on for about 15 mins - by the time the food got to us it was just about warm. We opened the bag and the food looked like it had been thrown in there was grease on absolutely everything, and they had forgot my naan bread. When we rang to say they hadn’t given my naan they said they would deliver it right away. About 10 mins later we got a call and they said they wanted to give a refund instead of the naan. They offered to bring the money back to our caravan the next day, we told them that we were going home the next morning, so the only offer they gave us was that they wanted my card details to refund us, I was not happy to give my card details when we originally paid by cash, so we got no naan and no refund. This has now put us off returning which is such a shame as we were happy with the food. Service not so good.

One of the best indian restaurant in isle of wight fo nice n Halal food, so no hesitate to have food fo Muslim people. Highly recommended!!

Lovely experience at this nice little restaurant. The food was great, the staff were extremely accommodating and courteous. My only issue was the noisy customers who we had to sit next to, but definitely coming back on our next holiday. Thaaaanks

Very moderate - can only recommend if you don’t have any option at all Chicken tikka wasn’t cooked well and replaced Portions are very less and half cooked Chicken tikka Biryani was ok No alcohol - byob as per policy Chicken tandoori was just burnt Not very satisfying experience

We went to Bay Leaf restaurant with a group of friends to celebrate. The portions of the starters were so small and tasteless that we left before ordering any mains. Specifically we got the lamb kebab, chicken tikka, paneer tikka and mixed grill. All the food were tiny portions around 4 small pieces and incredibly bland. I would definitely not recommend.

We travel from London foods was tasteless dry chicken I never had this kind of Indian food and every dish they using food colour it’s not healthy I would like add dishes pictures I’m not going?

Had my dinner at Bayleaf restaurant. Special curries were served each one tastes really outstanding, delicious and flavorful i really enjoyed it.

Excellent set menu for 4, and great value too. If you like traditional Indian style curry you will not be disappointed. If I lived here, this would be my go to restaurant. Lovely.

Had a delicious chicken jalfrezi last night, was lovely and spicy enough, but with tender chicken and onions and peppers, would definitely recommend! Staff were helpful and welcoming on arrival, would recommend for locals or tourists to try or your missing out!😍

The food is ok but the quantity of biriyani and other rice dishes was very little. We had to order 2 bowl of rice dishes for one person. Some curry dishes were very sweet, dishes weren't indian taste.

10 stars! The food and service here is absolutely amazing, the best Indian restaurant on the Isle of Wight! I would definitely recommend head chef Sam's special Garlic Chilli Chicken Masala, you cannot get this anywhere else!

We did book the table and went on time. but a long wait of more than an hour and a feeble response. Though they call it Indian food, it is a horrible food, there is no taste/flavour or quality or quantity. It is kind of very dry.. and very expensive. I wouldn't suggest you to go. You can very well choose to go to any English restaurant or pizza shop to have good food and save your time & money.

We went for lunch and dinner. The food was great and the service was incredible. They took our order even when the restaurant was closed for lunch. Vegetable Biriyani was awesome. Thank you.

Great service. huge plus for warm plates and homemade nan bread but... very plain mains with no taste and lack of meat inside... 5 times more sauce than meat... not recommending chutney trai... poor quality chutney ect. If I would ever get back then I would only get few starters and skip the main courses. it need someone to sort out main courses... then it will be top class Indian restaurant! in general 3/5

We found this place by chance and we’re luckily thrilled with the visit. We eat strictly vegetarian and spoke to the attendant in advance. The food was freshly prepared and excellent quality and very tasty. The naan bread were very soft and warm. Lot of parking at rear of restaurant. Would definitely recommend this place to any travellers.

There should be something lower than TERRIBLE. I would have give this place not a zero but a NEGATIVE marking. The food was way worse than TERRIBLE. Every dish was sweet, god knows why. Being a proud Indian I very well know my dishes and curries, and whatever this restaurant is making is defo not Indian. Every dish tastes like dessert, from Korma to lamb bhuna, prawn jalfrezi to chicken tikka. The worst food I have ever eaten in my entire life across the planet. They should be banned from making Indian food and would class their restaurant as a dessert parlour. TERRIBLE FOOD ! TERRIBLE FOOD ! TERRIBLE FOOD

The restaurant staff is not friendly. We ordered food and waited for almost an hour. They served water only after I asked. Even they did not serve serviettes. Portions are very small and rice is not well cooked.

We loved Bay leaf takeaways previously, something for all the family, reliable delivery service and we looked forward to ordering each time. Unfortunately we were very disappointed! Took over 90 mins to arrive to our short distance away location. We gave the postcode (same as previous times) but it seems that along with address is no longer of use for their deliveries. Can’t understand why! A number of follow up calls just frustrated us even more! Such a pity we won’t return! Even greater pity that we paid over 80 pounds for this!

Absolutely fabulous food, service very polite, a little wait for food to be ready, but worth the wait and served very hot. One little thing that did let it down, was we chose not to take any alcohol with us and was happy to buy there soft drinks, but they was quite expensive for a glass a lemonade which was not chilled, and quite warm which melted the ice immediately. So to be perfect please chill your soft drinks no one likes warm pop.

We were in Isle of Wight for about a week and ate from Bay Leaf four times. Tasty food, cooked with fresh ingredients, right amount of right spices and portions in sufficient quantity. Waiting for take away order was roughly 45 minutes but the taste and quality made the wait worth it. We also dined in once, and eating it hot from kitchen was so flavorsome good. Keep up the good work, chaps :)

One of the worst service.. We waited for almost 90 mins and nothing came in.. The portion size is also very less.. The worst part is we can see too much of take away orders are going out..

I've been to Bay Leaf 4 times now and every time the food as been delicious. The stand out dish for me was the Gujarati, I've tried both the lamb and the chicken and it tastes amazing, but to be honest all the dishes here are. The portion sizes are generous. The staff are very friendly. You can bring your own alcohol. Altogether one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years as we live 10 mins away. In all that time we have never had a bad meal. The food is always excellent, the service is always good and being able to take your own alcaholic drinks makes it a very affordable night out. We have several family members who visit us and the first thing they ask is for us to book a table and we all have a great evening. This is an excellent restaurant and if you dont visit you are really missing out.

Ordered online about 4 o clock which was easy ,requested delivery for 6 o clock,we weren't disappointed it arrived on time and as always delicious.

Taste of the food was decent but the portion size wasn't the best. I found it too expensive for the size of the dish. If it was a fine dining restaurant I would understand but it's just a regular restaurant not sure why the price is so high for such a small portion. The entrance is abit Dodgey it has a open sign near a door but that's not the entrance it's sealed shut there another entrance at the side and that entrance looked like the entrance of another shop not Bay leaf Indian restaurant. The staff that took our order was not very receptive with criticism and feedback of the food size. I can see from other reviews as well complaining about the food portion size as well. The only good thing is that it's BYO (alcoholic drinks) and they don't charge you for it.

Ordered a take away, I think the meal had been left on the side a while ( though I had to wait for it when I went in) as it was not that hot and just not that exciting a dish compared to others I had had. My popadums tasted a bit stale but again I just think they had not been freshly cooked maybe. Staff pleasant enough. I wouldn’t say I’d never return as maybe it was just an off night. .. Adding to this as I did return months later, the chicken pieces were not tender, far to big chunks in the curry and the popadoms not that crispy. And it did not lay good on my stomach hours after. Sorry guys not for me.

Fantastic, turned up unexpectedly August Bank Holiday Monday and asked for a table for 2 the gentleman in charge made us both very welcome great food and pleasant staff.

Really excellent in all ways. Ordered a takeaway for a group of 9, it arrived on time, piping hot, and everything was there as ordered!. Every single dish was delicious. To please 9 individuals will no dissenters is some achievement! Thank you. A lovely way to end our week's holiday.
