Cafe is freezing cold. Tables are filthy & the staff stand around literally watching customers trying to find a clean table. They’re even happy to stand around doing nothing watching customers cleaning tables for them and make no effort to intervene with this. I have never encountered staff in a food establishment that are as inept and lazy as the staff at the prestwich M and s cafe. They appear to have created their own work to rule culture whereby doing the absolute minimum is the norm. They don’t even check that the cutlery is clean before putting in the container for collection by the customer so had to replace two dirty knives.

This has got to be the worst M&S I have had the displeasure of going in! rude staff especially the man on the self service tills. Staff blocking shelves with reduced sticker trolleys! The most disorganised shelves I have ever seen disgraceful

Cafe has a limited menu so they take off the most popular items namely toast and tomato soup. Often out of stock of varying items, de-caff coffee, scones and more. Used to be a busy place, now almost empty most days and it's always very cold. May as well close it. Costa, across the road in Tesco is far better.

I've been using this in-store cafe for 10 years now and ultimately you can't really comment on the food; it's a decent M&S offering, with a higher price as you're eating in. That's fine. What makes the difference each time I've made a visit, is who is on duty in the cafe on any particular day. When it's the (for want of a better word, I'm getting old now at 47!) "young folk" on duty, service is warm, prompt and helpful (especially one young guy who time after time goes above and beyond his £2 an hour wages to make sure you're all settled and sorted). Compare this to the couple of "older ladies" whom I dread seeing when I'm queuing up with my tray.... An attitude that makes you feel like apologising for even being there; special requests (e.g. No sauce on a sandwich) ignored; general eye rolling all round such that you can't wait to sup up and get out..... And Lord help you if you have a child in tow (tsk tsk eye roll).!..!!! Sorry I would come back more often seeing as I shop there regularly but I don't want a side order of frost with my teacake 🤔

Just been out with my parents for a toastie and tea and I can honestly say it wasn't pleasurable. It was freezing inside and all the tables were full of pots .They need more staff the guy doing the food and drinks was miserable and unfriendly .The old lady was nice though .Marks and Spencer should know better and make it an enjoyable visit but it was far from it .Will stick to costa next time

I usually come here for treats.....chip sticks, biscuits and crisps. I come once a week and always leave with much more than what’s on my list, nice place and friendly staff and parking is great but avoid peak times.

Conveniently sited in the centre of the village. Friendly staff and the expected quality of goods from this company. Only negative is the on site parking, shared with another business. The Car park is often very crowded or full

As a regular (at least twice a week) at M & S Prestwich cafe I can vouch for great refreshments and lovely staff. BUT while the general atmosphere is warm, the actual temperature is uncomfortably cold. Few customers dare to take coats off under the blasting cold air.

The cafe in the M and S at Prestwich is a place I visit regularly. It’s always a pleasure to pop in - service from Michelle, Adele, Paddy and the team is always friendly and welcoming; the cafe is light and airy, clean, and doesn’t play music.

I was bored sitting at home tonight so went to a pub in Bury and had one pint and fish n chips just to get out of the house. Thought I’d have another on my way back (at The Robert Peel) but when I ordered a drink at the bar I was refused service. I initially laughed presuming it was a joke, but no…I’d had too many???? I went straight next door for a drink (got served) and stared at myself in their mirror wondering what on earth was going on. Despite being well dressed my hair looked a bit wild (it had been a very windy day) and I was on my own which might make me look a bit strange (But seems kind of cool when Keanu Reeves does it). Anyway not really complaining, sure if was just a one off but…..seemed a bit harsh.

Son loves his coffee and mocha from here. Been coming here for many years but just tried the sweet stuff but now it's halal, it's great to try other alternatives. Really enjoyed it, good saver meals!!

I visited this place while having a look around the garden centre with my parents and my one year old daughter. It looked and seemed pleasant and inviting for a little refresher (cake and a brew). From the moment we walked in, as I unlatched the double doors to allow my dad to wheel our pram in and was essentially glared at by staff, it felt 'off'. We were marched, with said-pram, through a labyrinthine path of tables and chairs to the furthest point of the cafe and ordered to put the pram out of the way. No issues, I thought, got to be considerate to staff and other customers, despite us being situated in the graveyard area of the building with not another soul around, and the selected pram parking spot being on front of a fire escape. The food was quite nice, served quickly enough and without any major problems. The real issue was with the older blonde lady - a regular feature in other people's reviews, it seems - who was among the most discourteous, ignorant, obnoxious and downright rude people I've ever had the misfortune to encounter in a supposed hospitality role. As we moved to leave, my kindly 70 year old mother, from no more than two feet away, offered a polite and friendly compliment on the quality of the scone she had just eaten. 'Thank you so much' she started, to zero response. We assumed the last has just not heard' 'It was as good as it looked', she continued. Blank. Nothing. No acknowledgement or pleasantry, no forced politeness in the name of professional courtesy. The woman humiliated my mother, ignored her kind thanks and instead began talking to her colleague about what time she was going to clock off. Like my mother was not even there, let alone offering a compliment and positive feedback. It was shocking and egregious and left us all blown away at how this person can work in hospitality, and apparently have held a job for some time, judging by the dates of the other reviews. I don't know who she is, how she justifies this behaviour or how she's not been removed from the place but we won't be going back after she left a sour and ugly taste to an otherwise lovely afternoon trip out. Disgusting.

Food was ok; portions were not as large as I would have expected for the price. Poor selection of beers. Not one real ale. And for a pub in the North, a shocking selection of one bitter, and one stout. Only beers they had were larger, bottled cider, John smiths and Guinness.

8 of us played this fantastic golf course with a great clubhouse with sky sports and a games room. The breakfast was one of the best I've had. We will be back soon.
