Understaffed. Run down. Overworked people. No passion or money or planning put into the place. The owners should be ashamed of letting it waste away and not putting any of their attention into nurturing this place. You charge enough for it so stop putting the money into your back pocket and show some appreciation for the community who continue to come here, let alone your poor workers.

Nut allergy sufferers beware! Cakes are under cloches, but knives are shared so cross- contamination is the order of the day. A long wait for a simple coffee. Milk pots heated by the batista being reused without being cleaned. Overflowing bins in the barista area. Tables cluttered with trays of spent crockery etc. Terrible. What on earth happened to M&S cafes? Not anymore something of s treat, now attrition. John Lewis' cafe is much, much better.

It is handy we’ve used it many times but getting very expensive & today a staff member cleaned 🧽 6 tables with the same side of a yellow cloth…..no rinsing in between 🤢. The 4 young girls working there gathered around till chatting & socialising whilst the ‘chef’ looked on. Not what you expect from M&S personnel & unhygienic.

This is a small M+S cafe serving coffee and expensive food. The coffee is from a press machine and therefore is fairly weak but is OK and there are places to sit. Its not service with a smile....

We were struggling to find vegan options and children options - Tracy went over to the food hall 3 times to accommodate us whilst we were in the queue. Her customer service was incredible, she went the extra mile to make sure our lunch was great. I wish more people were like Tracy!

We went here for coffee and cake, as always it had really clean tables, clean toilets, and good service. The only thing wrong is it gets very busy, but I can't blame people going there as it's that good.

Had eye treatment at the hospital. Between procedures we had a half hour window so thought to have a coffee, the first coffee shop we came to was M&S so we went in, my wife sat me at a table and went to get the coffee, 20 minuets later she came back with what I can only describe as dishwater, it was the worst coffee We had ever had anywhere. Because we were on a short time scale we had no time to complain, I am wondering if that is the concept of this cafe that people are to busy here to complain so give them any old rubbish.

Like so many captives at the hospital I popped in here for lunch while awaiting my prescription to be processed. The menu was very small and basic, and the food at best only average. Very over priced, almost £3 for a poor quality, machine-made hot chocolate, Miniature jacket potato with a spoon of chili-con carne and a few salad leaves, cherry tomatoes and some cucumber over £5. We expect better from Marks and Spencers.

We love M&S Food Hall and shop in the Hedge End branch regularly so thought the café at West Quay would be a good place for brunch while out shopping. My partner ordered spicy Chicken in Ciabatta with chips, chicken was as rock hard and grey, chips were like match sticks and cold. I ordered an English breakfast which consisted of cold pouched eggs, one cold mushroom, 2 slices of what I can only presume was supposed to be bacon and two strange looking sausages. The tea and coffee were ok but would never go back...what a let down, food was just awful.

I work near here and unfortunately this is my nearest Starbucks but I'm done with here due to the consistently rude and incompetent/disinterested staff, especially the Eastern European lady . I would say on average they get my drink wrong 50% of the time. My advice; if you really want Starbucks, go the one on Above Bar, so much better than this dross.

Love this place, food OK drinks cheap, friendly but rather noisy on occasions, TVs are supposed to be silent!

Well where do I start! Myself and 3 friends booked in for a bottemless brunch. The service was extremely slow we waited over 15 minutes after ordering our first drink to even recieve it, The cocktails tasted poor and were not up to standard. The food was rubbish and very salty. The waitress and the manager were rude. When we asked a question the waitress rolled her eyes at us. The window where we were sat had clearly been broken so was boarded up but made to look like the easthetic with lights hung on it. Overall we were unhappy with our visit and won't be recommending to other people.

It was a very lively pub, full of locals people eating Sunday lunch. One of the most affordable choices on High Street, and the low prices probably attracted the crowd. Our typical pub lunch was fine, the atmosphere was authentic.
