A Rude lady runs this, not nice to children and no awareness of children with special needs. Avoid if you have children, especially with extra needs.

We had lunch - just a sandwich with a cuppa and sat by the river. The staff are really friendly and it was one of the best tuna sandwiches I have ever had. The cafe is very small but the beauty is in the location. A hidden gem in Botley that I would highly recommend.

This is a lovely little gem by the river in Botley. The food is delicious and the cakes are out of this world. Well worth visiting.

Found this on a shopping trip. Tiny but lovely location behind mill and next to river. She did have covid precautions in place, which was good to see. However, only ordered two drinks as it was pricey, and there was no-one in front of us (the three occupiedtables all had drinks). Took 20 minutes? She did tell us about the extortionate new parking charge going on, as we were leaving!! Glad we didnt have food, we would've been whacked with a £100 fine! Could have been lovely but not worth the price, the wait or the risk of fine.

Our little walking group stopped here today for a coffee. It was perfect! Seven of us just about fitted in the little cafe. There are outside tables looking over the river, which in the summer would be a very nice spot to enjoy a lunch. To wet today to be outside. The owner was very friendly & welcoming. Thank you

This is a great little tea room, cafe. Super small internally...not even room for a single table, but don't be fooled. The owner has a few benches overlooking the river, and a smattering of tables and chairs in the undercover archway, from the car park. On my visit, the owner...the inimitable Mrs.Potts, was welcoming, informative and friendly. This is her 2nd year of trading and if my visit is anything too go by, she's here for the long run. Although I didn't eat here, during the time I had had my tea...in her wonderful 'sunny' cup, (think bright yellow and golden orange), she had prepared 2 sandwiches for take away customers and acted as post mistress for a lost delivery courier. Oh yes...all her cakes...every, single one, are made by her in an oven, the size of your average microwave. Quite extraordinary. Highly recommended.

How utterly wonderful is this quaint little place by the river. Nothing at all like what you would expect, it's a little shed with bench tables by the river, perfect for a quick coffee and lunch. Situated in a busy working mill, many businesses within, it really is a beauty of a gem for the people that work there. Emma is a pleasure to see, always smiling and happy, food is fantastic and the home made cakes are fabulous. Just perfect xx

We were looking for afternoon tea for a family birthday - read the reviews about this place and decided to go !, It’s basically a garden shed by the river with outdoor seating. No menus No waitress service You had to order in the shed and it was bought outside We were the only people there and it too about 10/ 15 minutes for 5 cups of tea to arrive - she puts milk and sugar in hot drinks We nearly up and left because of the long wait for drinks

This was our second visit to Mrs Potts, a real find, not posh just good service from a lovely Mrs Potts, very sunny helpful lady, we sat by the river eating lovely snacks and drinking tea from big cups, Mrs Potts also cooks and serves very nice non fancy meals of a reasonable choice and at reasonable cost, and also really good cakes, if you like things a little quirky try this, we did, and really Love it. Thank you Mrs Potts

A great find in Botley! If you’re looking for lunch or a hot drink and gooey treats this is a great little stop. Just a few minutes walk from Botley high street in the Old Mill, nestled away through the tunnel. Mrs Potts was really friendly and had even baked extra for our group having phoned her ahead of time to say there’d be a good number (24) of us calling in. We shared a selection of delicious banana and chocolate muffins, caramel rocky road and peanut butter chocolate brownies!! There’s not very much room to sit in, but there’s tables and benches outside for a sunny day! Great homemade baking and a friendly local vibe. Do give it go!

My Wife & Intended to visit the restaurant @ Botley Mill, it was packed !!! but 15 paces away was a sign -> this way to Mrs Potts through the tunnel, AND WHAT A FIND !!! we will be going back, not a vast menu, simple enjoyable meals, good coffee (4 my Wife) excellent Breakfasts & Lunches cooked fresh with each order, and a very pleasant outlook, an ideal place to eat & avoid a crowded restaurant. & yes a lovely nom-de-plume. Chevalier.

Had been intrigued by this place for a while having seen adverts online. Was not disappointed! Lady was lovely! She gave us plenty of time to choose. Reasonable price and tasty food! Had a toastie, tea, and rocky road piece. All wonderful. Sat by river in sunny weather. I only gave 4 rating because of lack of ramp for wheelchairs and pushchairs but the lady who worked there helped me get my pushchair up onto the dining area outside. I couldn’t see Highchairs (Although didn’t ask!). Wonderful experience though.

Its amazing what some clever folk can turn into a business. The proprietor is not named Mrs Potts but her non-de-plume works perfectly. She is a happy young women who is happy to serve customers. In the corrugated tin shed she can happily sit four diners for hot and cold snacks good tasting coffee and several different teas, but outside there are picnic tables riverside at the back of Botley Mill or if we suffer the moist English weather there are chairs and tables in the cobbled short tunnel that leads from the car park to Mrs Potts establishment. Lining the walls of the tunnel are old mill wheels, overhead sparkling lights looking like stars in the night. Dont expect anything grand, just satisfying and fun. This young lady deserves good custom simply because she is working hard and despite the confines of her tin hut she makes her diners and passers-by happy. I will be going again and I only give Mrs Potts a four star rating because of the limitations caused by size. I like Mrs Potts.

We booked Sunday lunch with my sister and brother in law, we wanted to try the Chestnut Horse with the intention to book for Christmas. The starters were lovely but not to be said for the main course, my sister and I had the roast beef, the beef was cut thickly and the whole plate full was verging on cold, my sister order extra cauliflower cheese which arrived towards the end of her meal. We ordered puddings, my sisters came first, ice cream, and ours arrived half an hour later and was not fully as we ordered. The staff were very pleasant and apologetic. Such a shame for a lovely country pub.

Had a great evening with friends. A very good menu and the food was excellent. There was a live band (Queen bee and the trappers)which everybody enjoyed and some danced to. A really good pub.

It's my favourite coffee , and the cafe is perfectly placed for us to sit and watch the passing show.
