Mr Kebab in St Edmundsbury

Have used Mr Kebab on several occasions with the odd problem but not an issue. But last night was a disaster. Found there had a new website to order though was awful to use and unable to track - should of stop there but no- delivery scheduled for 8pm a little later than I would of liked but there you go. It turned up at 945 , just an 1 and 45 Minutes late it was cold to the core absolutely discussed with the start of the order to the end.

I got two kebabs from here last Saturday....only just warm....not as tasty as they once were....really not worth having. Food wasn't good.....they've lost the taste, quality that they once had. Now, at best, food for the masses!! A long time before I ever come back ...and I personally would advise, get it somewhere else!!

When I first used Mr kebab it was decent food and well ran but the drop off in the last few months is astonishing. An order for ‘delivery’ from Rickinghall a few months ago was late and upon calling them to find out where it was I found out they had no delivery driver! After collection I find that my daughter's drink in her kids meal is missing. They apologised and advised they would add it to the next order. Said order a few weeks later arrives luke warm (and to be honest not the best donner meat I've had) and minus the drink again so I decided I'd no longer order from them. Then last week up pops the Ixworth van delivering so I give that a try…half way through the meal my friend sat next to me finds a lovely insect smeared in the salad which put both of us eating the rest of our food. I contacted them and they offered me a credit which I could use at Rickinghall so given the fact I hadn't tried it for a few months I gave it a go. Order and Delivery agreed on the phone, only for them to cancel as apparently the delivery driver had broken down, which left me with a very upset 7 year old. I said I'd had enough and wanted a full refund instead, this has been totally ignored. I spent a number of years working in hospitality and for that reason I fully understand how difficult it can be and that in busy periods mistakes can happen, but to totally ignore poor customer experience is inexcusable. I have also contacted HSA and I can only hope that Istanbul Kebab house can get the go ahead for the proposed takeaway in the village.

Ordered a delivery burger from here. After nearly finishing it I found a very long hair in the burger. After contacting them to complain I was told to bring all the food and hair back. I couldn’t as put the food in the bin. After explaining I was blocked so couldn’t reply. I took the hair and empty food packaging to them an after a conversation I got my refund. Then this morning I received a message from one of the workers saying I need to take down the pictures I put on facebook or he will break my bald head?

The most excellent kebab I have eaten recently, the staff are very kind and friendly, I found them successful in their profession

Mothers days take away awful,Really disappointed with food, cold once arrived,being late... the burgers were dry, the kebabs looked like aload of slop, chips were under cooked, and curly fries were over cooked, the new boxes they put them in Falls apart, food everywhere,cost £52 and was awful, never ate the food,we rang them up to complain, and to be told they have been very busy,and lots of deliverey tonight,well dont take my order, was offered a free meal, will never be eating there again. Cold food and only 8 mins away not good...

We ordered at 6pm and it finally arrived at 8pm! I had to ring the van twice as they had rang to say they had been to the wrong address and blamed me despite the address and postcode being given. They couldn’t understand a word of English and kept telling me to come out even though I told him my husband was out at the gate waiting. The food was all cold, the salad soggy, chicken doner hard and crispy, my child’s order was wrong so she was in tears! When my husband rang to complain he said not my problem!!! Will never use him or the Rickinghall one ever again!

Twice now this month I have ordered at around 4.30pm and the food arrived on time but was cold the Donna meat was hard the cheesy chips too We had a chicken Shish-wrap this Saturday and it was cold and soggy feel like we have waisted our money and won’t return Regards g from raf honington bury st Edmonds

Ordered food an hour and a half ago and it still hasn’t arrived. They have great food but wouldn’t get delivery again absolutely terrible.

Mr Kebab rickinghall, Wednesday 21st. Rang an ordered, chap couldn't speak English, charged 17.50 for a 11.50 kebab, get the other bloke back not this shrub

It's ok now but nothing special anymore. They now concentrate on online orders rather than getting to the van to buy one. Definitely not as good as even last year. Service, if you get any is poor at its best, the man there couldn't be bothered. There is a girl who is ok. My advice, go somewhere else for your takeaway, sadly this is now worth a miss.

Awful service. No one seems to speek or understand basic English. Extremely rude when asking (for the 3rd time). Pitta tasted like cardboard, 'meat' (if we can call it that) again like wet cardboard & no taste, only the chilli sause gave flavour, salad was very old. Will NEVER go near this place again. Also has vans serving disentry in Sudbury & Rickinghall. AVOID!!!

I called into this roadside kebab wagon to give it a try. I was ignored for a good few minutes. They eventually took my order and the payment, all without a smile or any attempt at customer service. Having taken my money they told me that there would be a 20 minute wait. I’ve ordered kebabs in busy London shops at pub chucking out time and not had to wait 20 minutes! They were taking phone orders and seemed to be sorting them out first. I got the impression that the roadside wagon is just a base for online or phone orders. After 25 minutes of waiting in a bleak muddy lay-by my food was ready. Again no smiles or thanks. I asked for a plastic fork and he looked at me as if I had insulted him! He gave me a fork. I ordered a mixed kebab and chips. The kebab meat and salad was in a box with a small supermarket pitta separately thrown into the bag. The chips were old and like cardboard. The chicken was tepid and poorly reheated. The lamb was chewy and lukewarm. The salad was old and just a mess, mixed up with coleslaw. Very disappointing for the amount they charge. A good example of the overcharging is that it is £1.70 for a slice of cheese! Don’t bother wasting your money at this place. They show no interest in customers and the food is mediocre at best. I will not be going here again.

Picked up a large Donner and large chips which was nice enough but I'm not sure if I would go again as it seems very expensive for what it was. Maybe I'm tight....who knows

Ordered a Mr kebab last night at 18:13 and after an hour my husband rang and asked if our order went through. The man who answered said how the food was ready but there was no driver. 45 mins later the food still hadn’t arrived. We rang again and got told that the driver is picking up the food in 1 minute. It had been sat there the whole time getting cold. Not impressed at all.

Excellent as usual - quick delivery, great food. Good move having the pitta bread separately so it does not become soggy. Easy to order, reliable food. Recommended!

Best around in the area quick friendly service great size portions meat for days always vist when in area never leave there hungry 😋

After reading other reviews i was hesitant at first, Im glad i wasnt dissuaded! The food arrived hot and tasty! The driver was a great guy and the food incredible! If your in the area and are in need of some kebab action go to mr kebab 💪

Their portions are great and most items we have ordered are good but their lamb shish kebab is slow cooked lamb then put on the grill. So it has the taste of a braised meat rather than a proper grilled lamb shish. It does make the meat very tender so for people who have never had a proper lamb shish would probably love it but for me it was a weird texture!

I looked at mr kebab ixworths website menu . Menu had been updated 7 days ago on facebook £1 increase ok so fair enough orderd food collected from van and menu price list had increased by £2 what a rip off food is ok but try being honest with people will not be coming back ever again as you are untrustworthy and dont care enough to tell customers of your underhand tactics ..shame on you
