Really great food, beautiful restaurant, lovely evening out. Only irritation was lots of interruptions by wait staff, we didn’t seem to have one server and it meant we got asked the same question multiple times by different staff, felt rushed at the end. No criticism of individual staff as everyone very polite, just would have appreciated a bit more space/time and perhaps just one person dealing with our table.

Visited on a weekend with friends, food was delightful and best shared around the whole table picking at bits and pieces. Was served by the lovely Jay who suggested we share as a table and it was definitely the right choice. Personally recommend the house lamb, but the tamarind fries were an unusual treat.

Wow! I think this is the best Indian street food restaurant I've ever visited! I've walked past Mowgli street food so many times and each time I've been on a time restriction....but not today! So after a family day watching a movie in Cineworld (5*) we decided we're going to Mowgli's and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is certainly eye catching day and especially at night , you'd be wondering if the food is as enchanting as the look and I'll get to to the food in a moment! The staff working today were nothing short of exceptional, the young lady who greeted us at the door made us feel at home straight away and was attentive and friendly. she saw we had a child and asked if we'd like a children's menu and of we had any allergies to make her aware of! That's a person who you'd want fronting your establishment. Straight away our son wanted to sit on the swing seats which she prepared spotlessly for us. Menu's in hand we got comfy! The waitress who took our order knew the items and we initially ordered mother butter chicken a bunny chow and a kids chicken and fries . The meals were delicious and I mean an explosion of flavour, the young lady who greeted us asked how we were and I complimented my meal to her as she said it was her favourite too and I can see why! I've eaten in many restaurants and I don't think I've had food that had such a complex mix of flavour that all came through with each bite We had another lady come over once we were finished and the meal was so nice that we decided to order the house street food sharer and so the next round of flavour explosions began. . did I over eat..... today I did and I didn't feel guilty, there were such a great selection of dishes all looking as good as they tasted . I opted out the ice cream but my family didn't and needless to say very happy and feeling some what full. The share platter is £25 per person and really could easily cater for two light eaters but well when it's this good sharing isn't always on the cards. Anyone who's ever wondered about going in , I'd say absolutely go in and enjoy , I don't think a single item on this menu will taste anything but delicious! I really was taken back as were my family who all loved eating here A great group of front of house staff , extremely talented chefs and a beautiful place to sit down and escape the outside world for a little food haven! Highly recommended!

Food was tasty but small portions. Staff couldn’t wait to get rid of us even though the restaurant was far from busy. Kept wanting to give us a bill when we were obviously sitting there talking. Had mentioned on the book and it was a birthday and there was no recognition of that at all even when we handed the presents to our friend. Could do better.

Such a lovely atmosphere with dim lighting and sparkly lights. I had the lamb curry with rice and it was really good! My friend is gluten free and had some sticky chicken which wasn’t great to be honest. Had brownies for dessert which were gluten free with ice cream and they were lovely! There’s a meal offer they do for 2 people for about £25 each which looks really good and includes a variety of things as well as dessert.

It’s okay Indian food but I wouldn’t go back. I’ve eaten at one of these chains before years ago and it doesn’t seem like the menu has changed much. The veggie set menu is very potato heavy. The chat bombs were good but 6 would be better than 5 as a sharing starter, the double fries were just too big of a portion and so treacly it becomes sickly. Plus having another potatoe curry is too much as mentioned. We left most of the food as it’s a lot. I went for a friends birthday and they did give a free dessert with a candle which was really nice.

Visited here with some friends yesterday and we were completely blown away! The ambiance and atmosphere was fantastic and our dish was even better. I think what made our visit even more special was the service provided by Rory. He was so friendly and welcoming and it felt like he was genuinely passionate about providing us the best experience possible - and he did! He took the time to welcome us and explain the menu and give us some great recommendations. I will definitely visit here again and a special shout out to the Mowgli Team, especially Rory for the great experience.

My last day in Cheltenham. This time I visited the restaurant "Mowgli." It's an Indian restaurant, but they also serve meat dishes. The ambiance is cozy and original; in addition to chairs and tables, there are also swings for sitting at the table 😀. They have special offers at lunchtime, so I opted for a set menu for £15. In the end, I ended up paying £22, including a drink and tip, but it was definitely worth it. The food is served in containers typical of India. At first, the quantity looks shockingly small. But don't worry: you WILL be full! Hence my highest rating: "Sakrisch Guat!"

What a place great tasty cuisine, absolutely full up now , will definitely go back, great value for money and the staff a credit to you, put it like this was in prezzo last Sunday will never go back

Drove all the way here with a reservation. Asked for the swinging chair tables and was told they were all reserved. None were used during my visit. They were the entire reason for my reservation. Poor customer service.

I promised my partner a valentines treat. We are both passionate devotees of Indian food. I have to say that both the food and service is excellent. Our first visit to Mowgli, and will definitely not be the last. Packed full of flavour and off set with just the right level of fresh chilli its a must try for all fans of Indian cuisine. Its also as near authentic as I think you will find in the UK to the food we experienced in Goa and Kerala. I hope one day Mowgli will open in Oxford.

We had an amazing experience! The service was attentive, and the food was exceptional. After sharing our preferences, the manager Eve kindly recommended some great options, and it did not disappoint. Valentines day was the first time myself and my partner have been to this restaurant and it won't be the last time either. The food was exceptional and we didn't even have space for dessert as much as we wanted it. All the staff were fantastic and lovely to be around, attentive and from the atmosphere all seemed to love what they do which added a nice touch to the evening. I would also like to highlight Beth and Tamzin for there service and knowledge of the menu and how lovely it was to have had them to serve us. Thanks again to the team and all the BOH team too we will be coming back to dine again very soon.

One of my favourite places in Cheltenham...With so much choice we usually try something different off the menu each time. It's got a lovely ambience with pretty lighting; and each time we've been we've had great service with a smile. It does get busy so its a good idea to check availability beforehand. Hoping to go back again really soon.

But they chuck you off your table after your allocated time slot without telling you this in advance, and when I called half an hour after leaving to ask if I’d left an item of clothing there they said they didn’t have the time to check and that I should just call back in the morning incase it was in lost property. I thought they weren’t as friendly or helpful as they could’ve been

Foh were absolutely incredible, service was exceptional, especially female assistant manager ( I think her name was Beth ) , she checked up on us a few times making sure we were happy with everything! I wanted to take a moment to share a recent experience that really stood out. As someone who travels often and has visited many of your branches, I’ve always enjoyed the food – it’s warming, filling, and guilt-free. But this visit was particularly memorable because of the outstanding service I received from Tamsin and Beth. Even though the branch seemed a bit short-staffed, these two were working seamlessly together, handling everything like a well-oiled machine. Their energy and attention to detail were impressive, constantly checking if I needed a refreshment or an extra side dish without missing a beat. It was clear they were fully committed to making the experience great, and they absolutely delivered. I honestly think Tamsin and Beth would make a fantastic team running a branch, or even hosting a show together! Please pass along my thanks to them for making my visit so enjoyable. I’d wanted to try Mowgli for a while, so when I finally got the chance, I went for their £25 per head Street Food Sharer. I figured it would be a good option to get a feel for the menu. First up, it has the Yoghurt Chat Bombs. These were followed by the Gunpowder Chicken and Fenugreek Kissed Fries, then the much-anticipated Tiffin Sharing Roulette, which promises a chef’s selection of curries, Roti and rice. The meal finishes with Salted Caramel Ice Cream. It is good value, they didn’t have Roti the night we went, but the substitute they provided worked well enough. The flavours were solid, the sauces had depth and we had a nice time eating and chatting away. However, if you’re expecting variety, be aware that “an assortment chosen by the chef” seems to mean multiple takes on chicken and potato. Which after a chicken and potato entree was a bold move. Both are versatile ingredients, and to be fair, they were handled well. But don’t expect anything beyond those two staples. I asked the waiter if it ever differs, and they confidently assured me it doesn’t - so if you’re craving lamb, beef, or something else, just go à la carte. As I said, we enjoyed the meal. The vibe inside is cool, the service friendly enough, and the Pinot Noir I had was decent - so no complaints there. The salted caramel ice cream was a great way to round things off, and I walked away full. The flavours were good, and I’m curious to try more of their menu. Next time I’ll skip the chicken and potato done five ways. Variety is the spice of life, and Mowgli is surely all about the spices.

I've been here a few times now, whilst I dont think its awful I also dont think it's that good. If you want an aesthetically pleasing restaurant then its perfect, if you want delicious and authentic Indian food/street food, then go elsewhere. In Cheltenham there's Bombay and Co and Deepam that do what Mowgli claim to do but far better.

My first trip to mowgli was unique was greeted by a very friendly hostess suggest different items on the menu made my time there very enjoyable. Bit disappointed we were given 2 rotis to share between three of us and the majority of the staff stood in the corner waiting for us to put down empty plates and dishes. Food was excellent with lots of unique and tasty dishes and a overall great experience Would recommend if you are visiting Cheltenham.

The food here is excellent and I always get the office workers tiffin for a delicious 4 dish surprise. We tried the yoghurt chat bombs for the first time and they were divine. We argued over who would get the 5th one that you can’t really split into two! We’ve got a Mowgli passport, so we love trying different venues to get our passport stamped to hopefully get money off our 5th different visit.

An exceptional restaurant, the staff were very attentive, the food was excellent very well presented and the portion size per couple was perfect. The food quality was very good, well presented and priced in line with the portion size we received. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough we went to celebrate a birthday in our group and had a very memorable experience, thank you.

This restaurant is great for a fun and unique atmosphere with the decor and seating arrangements (on swings), 4 of us got a sharing plate which was very disappointing - despite being recommended by the chef - and the service was less than accommodating. I also believe we went on an evening where there were staff shortages.

I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and I’d say the most authentic dish is the chaat bombs, also known as dahi puri. I know the staff likely share the same instructions with all customers, but it was amusing to be at the table with my family, all of us being South Asian, and getting a tutorial on how to eat them. We were just thinking, “Okay…” 😂

Popped in with mum & dad & from moment we walked in the staff could not have been nicer, explained the menu with patience as my 70 something mum is blond 😂food came in stages with some great tasting dishes. Good cocktails. The staff made this place and I will be back.

From entering this magical atmosphere on we we very happy to have chosen Mowgli as our favourite restaurant: rich and diverse menu with super food in portions that you can manage; lovely service with people who obviously like to work there and behave like family (and not just “staff”). We definitely will come back!
