Ordered from just eats. As usual I ordered vegetarian food. I ordered vegetable briyani with raita. Chapati and daal makhani. The daal was the yummiest. Whenever I order from this restaurant, I always order daal makhani. Must try restaurant.

Ate early on a Saturday. Service was very good and people serving were nice. I have intolerances and they were able to tweak my order to suit me, which was good of them. The food was also very good, especially the meat which was not over-cooked, which is often the case in many restaurants. Lots of flavour. Really enjoyed it and easy on the pocket.

Great food and service. A perfect choice for Sunday lunchtime curry. We took our Mum for a mother's day curry. A central location was a bonus. We all chose different dishes and left full and happy.

The only Ghurka restaurant in town. Top quality Nepalese, Indian, Indo-Chinese food plus a few English dishes. I’ve eaten here many times (and had takeaways too) and always have had really good meals. Staff are lovely, food excellent, comfortable; what more could you wish for?

One of the best curry’s. The nan bread was glistening with ghee, the curry was full of flavour and the room was full of the sent of cardamom. If that was not a good enough recommendation the service was perfect, quick and friendly.

Ordered a huge order from this restaurant yesterday and all I can say is that the taste of the food was exceptional- so satisfying to my taste buds - exactly the taste I was craving- very nice and all the family agreed- also the gentleman on the phone had very good customer service so I give 5 stars

We visited on a Saturday and the restaurant was busy which is always a good sign. We chose dishes that were described as medium spice. However, we found them much milder than we were used to. The Sherpa chicken was particularly sweet as well. Staff were friendly and food and drinks came quickly.

The food here is usually at a 5 star level but occasionally it drops to a 3. This is my favourite takeaway in Loughborough but I just wish it was a bit more consistent with the quality. The processing fee on top of the delivery fee is a bit over the top.

Amazing food with amazing staff and service!

Lovely Indian restaurant right on Ashby Road. We came here as a large group (12) and were very impressed with the speed of the service considering so much was ordered all at once. Being a large group we tasted a good cross section of the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their curries. I personally went for the chicken bhuna and it was lovely tangy tomato with a warming chilli heat throughout. The value for money was incredible and they offer 10% student discount which we were very grateful for, especially given the current economy. The only minor complaint was that the naan bread was rather thin and crispy rather than the more soft, bread-like texture one would expect. Overall the food was highly flavourful and we would certainly return.

Usually order food from here for delivery but decided to have food in the restaurant, glad I did, it was lovely. Food was perfect as always. Certainly my favorite Indian in the area. Naan bread is the best naan bread, I will always recommend this place over any others in and around Loughborough.

Had a late night curry at the Mount Gurkha and have to say it was absolutely delicious. Menu is your usual range of curries that you might find at an Indian restaurant with standard prices but I have to say that the Chicken Karahi that I had was really good in all aspects including flavour and portion size. Friendly and efficient service - look forward to going again.

The food was very nice. I can’t fault the quality of the food but what I can fault is the price. £9 for poppadoms and pickle tray. £4.50 for chips. And what annoyed me the most is after a £60+ order and living one mile away up the road I still had to pay a £1.50 delivery charge! It will be the last time I order from here as it is considerably more expensive than equally as good Indian restaurants. It just isn’t worth it disappointing to say the least.

Mount Gurkha is consistently a wonderful meal. We've eaten in and had delivery many times and are always very satisfied. Delivery times when you order from them directly are unbelievably quick, today my food arrived 20 minutes after ordering! We've had the same man deliver the last few times and he's always very friendly and polite, he even brings treats for our dog so the whole family enjoys when we order Mount Gurkha. Thank you for the great food and service!

Located on Ashby Road, Loughborough. A small restaurant serving Indian Nepalese cuisine. Good for an infrequent dinner with friends. If you're looking for a meal it does stand out though. A favorite of the students around town because they serve beer. I doubt they have reservations but it's better to get a table reserved. I wouldn't spend too much time there as it does tend to get crowded. I loved the spice and the aroma of the food served. Indian-style arches, with traditional lighting decorate the interiors. There isn't any parking around but you could find one on the streets nearby. A pleasant experience overall.

Was in Loughborough last night on business, so i thought i would give it a try after coming here 4 years ago. Reasonably priced and relatively busy for a Wednesday night. I had original Onion Bhaji, and Lamb Tawa. Lovely food.

Just been here and I love the sherpa chicken. Also, all the staff are really friendly and welcoming!

Our party of 7 booked dinner here and had most enjoyable time. Being a Nepalese restaurant there were plenty of dishes not normally found in an 'Indian' restaurant and we had a number of these. (There are familiar items on the menu as well) We all tried these different dishes and really enjoyed them. Service was extremely friendly and efficient which all contributed to an excellent evening.

This is a family favourite and a regular choice for a birthday meal as it is reliable and tasty. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good curry. The chilli prawn starter is delicious! Never had a disappointing meal.

We visited Mount Gurkha to celebrate my 60th birthday. This was the first time we had visited the establishment and were a little concerned by the outer appearance, but the external belies the experience we had inside. The staff were very friendly and attentive and very patient, given the inability of our table to make a decision on which meal to have. When the food arrived it was beautiful and excellent quality. I often find when ordering lamb dishes, in some establishments it is very fatty - not here. King prawns were fantastic! At the end of our meal, the staff started singing "Happy Birthday" and presented me with a delicious cheese cake with a candle in it and "Happy Birthday" written on the plate. The staff were not aware of my birthday before our visit and I thought one of our team had set it up - but it was the staff themselves that arranged it. Mount Gurkha turned a lovely experience into a fantastic one! Thank you all for your attentiveness and friendliness. I thoroughly recommend this establishment and I look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future. I'm looking forward to, later, eating what we couldn't manage last night!!

Went for an early evening meal while working in Loughborough. I selected it because I use I restaurant with a similar name in Crosby. Had a lamb starter on a Puri. The sauce was very subtle and was certainly a tongue-teaser. My main course was a chicken dish laced with Himalayan herbs and spices with a hint of chilli. Delicious. Many restos in Loughborough are geared up for the student population. This one also helps students, but does not compromise on the quality of its food. They take Covid 19 seriously with perspex partitions between tables, masks work etc. Very well worth a visit, worth your time, worth your money

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my family and not only did we enjoy the amazing food but also loved the atmosphere inside of this restaurant as it was so calm and relaxing and that’s what me and my family enjoy. I must say it was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to.

I had 10 onion bhajis AND Chicken Bhuna, Lamb Bhuna, Prawn Bhuna, Mushroom rice, bag of chips and 9 poppadoms. it was a mighty fine confectionery... stupendous! compliments to Le chef.

First time here after friends had recommended for a long time! Visited around mid february, as nothing beats a good curry in the cold, and I can truly say it is the best indian restaurant I have ever visited. With friendly staff, a wholesome atmosphere and a homely feeling. Would definitely recommend the 'tawa lamb' or the tandoori trout.Will be back soon Mount gurkha!

My friend and myself telephoned this restaurant this evening with a view to attending there tomorrow for a meal. My friend has a guide dog and the person who answered the phone refused to even listen to reason with my friend tried to explain that the guide dog was allowed in restaurants. He refused further to allow my friend to speak to the manager to explain the situation! The call was terminated by the person who answered the phone who was in fact very rude during the course of the call.

It had been a long time since I returned back to Mount Gurkha, and I was reminded of how wonderful this small restaurant actually is. The most friendly of staff and the food is unbelievable. A hidden treasure.

Visited on a Sunday evening for a meal with family, pleasantly surprised by the nice welcome, good friendly service & great food. Would be happy to go back again.

We ordered a takeaway for the six of us and I am very disappointed. The portions were small. My curry was packed full of salt and that is all I could taste. The naan bread tasted raw, chewy, doughy and soggy. The popadoms were all smashed. We ordered some some curry’s that are usually a mild to medium dish which were too spicy to eat. Very expensive let down.

The mint sauce chutney had spilt all over the order. Food was good, I think it’s usually better in the restaurant as you get more meat etc. Also we weren’t a huge fan of the lamb.

This was our third visit to Mount Gurkha, I should have written a review before as each time the food has been great! We popped in after walking around the fair, got seated & the drinks order was quickly taken. For the main I had the vegetable manchurian (saucy version) which was really good, little vegetable dumplings in a black bean style sauce - Definitely worth trying this, it was just delicious! My other half had the vegetable Lekhali Khana which was full of the flavours of fresh coriander & chillies. Along with this we had a peshwari naan & mushroom rice, again both cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, in my opinion it's one of the best places to eat in Loughborough. YUM!

We enjoyed an excellent meal here whilst our teenage chdren visited the Loughborough fair as handy to the centre. A good mix of something new to try (stemed dumplings - momo) and our favourites (butter chicken) all cooked beautifully with excellent service and reasonably priced.

Now visited on four occasions, and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience there, as well as the food. Friendly, welcoming staff who now have recognised that we are becoming regulars. I cannot fault this place at all, and ranks one of the best curry places I’ve experienced. Highly recommended.

Looking around Loughborough for something to eat and we came across Mount Gurka so we went inside and it was the best thing we did.

Great selection of starters, even more impressive choice of main courses. We both enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere so much we even had a desert (a rare occurrence!)

Read the reviews, and they are spot on - looks very modest from the outside, but can’t fault this place at all. The restaurant is much larger than it looks on the outside, is very clean, service is fantastic, reasonably priced, but the best thing is the food. Absolutely delicious and plentiful. All in all, we found Mount Gurkha to be a fantastic place to enjoy a meal.

Does not look that inviting from the outside and we almost missed it, however, this would have been a pity. The atmosphere inside is nice and the food was excellent. They offer a large selection of Indian and Nepali dishes, so there are also options for vegetarians.

This place seems a little tired sat on the Ashby Road, shoulder to shoulder with fast food takeaways. But the sticky menus and starchy tablecloths give you those comfortable subliminal messages that you are in for a proper curry, your senses primed by olfactory bursts as sizzling dishes are rushed past you to neighbouring tables.

The best place in Loughborough to eat for Indian food. More than fairly priced, clean and delicious. The Butter Chicken that I had was the best curry that I've ever had. I would surely recommend people to go to this place for Indian/Nepalese food.

This place has lovely food and portion size was not to big. The waitress was nice and attentive. The menu had a good selection. Also was good to cater for such a large table in the restaurant. However the actual restaurant is fairly small so I would suggest to book. I found it a bit more pricey than some other Indian restaurants but still nice.

Visited Mount Gurkha tonight after enjoying a previous visit a few months ago. Tonight was a disgusting experience. Service on arrival was adequate, seated in good time, and drinks orders taken near immediately. However, the evening got exponentially worse. We were again asked by another member of staff whether we’d had our drinks order taken, illustrating poor communication between the waiting staff. After our drinks finally arrived we weren’t acknowledged for at least another 10 minutes to take our order, despite the restaurant being moderately busy, and when our order was eventually taken it took nearly 20 minutes for our starters to arrive and a further 40 minutes for our mains! There were two sets of cutlery set out for each person to use. I used my first set for my starter, expecting to use my second for my mains, but found that our waitress had taken away my clean cutlery and left my dirty ones to use! I daren’t wonder if that had gone straight onto another table, because when we received our plates for our main courses they were unclean and stained yellow. Furious as we were, we didn’t want the hassle of complaining so we continued with our meal. Our mains were of an acceptable standard, but because of the poor experience we’d had up to this point it psychologically made everything taste worse and we couldn’t bring ourselves to finish the meal. To wash away the taste I asked for a simple glass of tap water. Surely there could be no simpler task? Wrong. The water had a ruthlessly sour taste of curry to it, which I didn’t believe to be possible, yet I found myself in distress over the beverage. One sip was enough. By this point the restaurant was almost empty, yet on asking for the bill we waited 10 minutes and saw no signs of it at all. So, we asked another waitress who then immediately brought us it with no questions. Appalling service! 2 hours of my time spent and wasted at Mount Gurkha. Never again.

We have eaten in all the Indian restaurants in and around Loughborough and there is no doubt - Mount Gurkha beats them all!
