Great value tasty fish & chips served by fantastic friendly staff, I don't go anywhere else because it's well worth the 20 minute round trip from where I live.

Fish was good, but wasn't happy with service.People who came after got served before us which was annoying.

The fish was nice and the batter was good, but unfortunately the fat was a bit stale and the chips were overly greasy. The peas were also a bit burnt. Given the cost and the reputation, I was expecting a bit better, sorry!

The food was very good and fresh. The portion sizes also nice. I took advantage of the lunchtime offer and had the small fish and chips. I fed myself and two children for less than £14. I would go again

Deliver time was changed to a little later not a huge inconvenience, the food was delicious will definitely order again thank you

Mother Hubbard's Fish and Chips - A Disappointing Visit I recently visited Mother Hubbard's for a classic fish and chips meal, but unfortunately, it fell far below expectations. At over £11 for a standard fish and chips with a butty (or bap, as some might call it), it was already on the pricey side, especially since no drinks or sauces were included. Upon taking the food home, I discovered the chips were cold, and the fish was overly greasy with an excess of oil that soaked through. The quality of the fish was subpar, and the overall meal felt poorly prepared. Regrettably, the experience didn’t just end with disappointment. Shortly after consuming the meal, I began feeling unwell, experiencing severe stomach discomfort and sickness. A visit to the pharmacist suggested it might be food-related, possibly food poisoning, though it wasn’t confirmed. This was truly disheartening, especially for a brand that claims to offer quality fish and chips. For the price, I expected far better, but instead, I was left with a negative experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. What a shame.

Order was never delivered, no option to call the driver. The takeaway said it was not thier problem.

As someone said before “Don’t bother if you want decent fish and chips! Went in expecting what you would get at other Mother Hubbards but massively disappointed, “ stood around for ages before some little girl came to acknowledge me she took ages taking order, Asian lad in there coughing around in kitchen, ordered a fish cake butty which was basically two scollops with a small piece of fish in middle refried in double batter 🤢 had to dig through the batter to find any potato or fish gave the biggest bap you can imagine slathered with cheap margarine without asking absolutely appalling service and food would not recommend !

My first order here, I ordered haddock, large chips, and pot of curry sauce. haddock was small and batter soggy, curry sauce almost cold, and the chips, anemic and most were dried up. cannot honestly recommend and won't use again. That total order was just over £22 and being honest, not worth that amount.

The worst fish and chips i have ever had. Soggy fish. Weird powdery chips. All arrived cold. I didnt think anyone could ruin fish and chips so badly

More a phone in take a way, oil was dirty and the fish overcooked. Cannot recommend at all. There is another chip shop 300 metres away which is better value. But either way i will give the area a BIG miss, sorry at 70 i know quality

so the drivers you have are not good at all. You need to teach them how to get a pub that's in a main road. ensure they csn speak proper English and provide an half decent service. its not fair on the takeaways.

I am a fan of MH, but this falls into the category of amongst worse F&C ever had. chips anemic, batter heavy and fish, stodgy, if this had been my 1st experience I may not bothered again, as it is, hopefully one off and next time better. in the end binned a lot if it. it is what it is. here's to next time, and there will be a next time.

Food wasn't as nice as normal. There was flour all over the floor in the restaurant there was no sing saying cash only and didn't find out till going to pay and then it was a pain to pay had to pay via app the service was slow as well

You have got to be kidding me! Spent nearly £20 on fish and chips and a fish butty with chips. Got 6 chips with the fish butty and the fish and chips were measly considering how much they cost!! Absolute rip off, not worth the money at all, really disappointed at what you get!

First time I've been and won't be back . It's all cash now . After covid who carrys cash now.. then ordered I adult fish n chips a small fish and chips large chips sausage and 2 scollaps 1 curry and 1 portion of peas . As we got home never got the scollops chips ate pale and absolutely vile my kids didn't like them I tried one and it was like eating oil . Do not eat here

it’s April 2024 and this establishment declines to accept card payment of course, the only reason for this stance must be tax evasion. After all, Abdul cannot hide electronic payments from HMRC can you? I don’t know who has provided the positive reviews but the fact that this establishment is way behind the times when it comes to payment then all I can conclude is that if this establishment is ruthless in its tax evasion policy then I cannot hold out any hope for the quality or otherwise Of its menu. If you are going to take up residence within the United Kingdom and run a business, then the least you can do is to pay your dues. You lot are quick to send Money back to the motherland but reluctant To pay your way in this your host country. This is one establishment. I would avoid at all costs on the point of principle that it runs an illegal operation and avoids paying tax.

My fish was not cooked properly because it was watery in the middle and my chips had a funny taste to them.

The food was completely cold , I had to microwave it and they are literally over the road from me , if I could walk it would have been hotter

I bought a tray of chips at 8pm on Sunday. They were tepid, anaemic, undercooked and tasted heavily of oil. I threw them away. I won't be returning.

Called in today for fish and chips and we were more than happy. Nice crispy batter and fish was lovely. Chips were chunky and not at all greasy. The chap who served us was very chatty and friendly. Would definitely recommend

I requested salt and vinegar on my fish and chips didn’t get it… bland chips but the fish was 10/10 curry sauce wasn’t cracking either
