We came out for a family lunch, excellent food, welcoming and friendly staff. We really enjoyed the experience and will be back.

I popped in on Saturday morning for Breakfast and ended up leaving after 10 to 15 mins as we sat down and then got ignored! while they cleared and laid other tables which was odd as there was plenty of empty ones available So I went to the Mortimer Cafe upnthe road and received a warm welcome and a cup of tea within minutes of arrival

Walking from Reading to Mortimer with the dog which took around 4 and a bit hours - asked local dog walkers where to go for something to eat which was dog friendly- they recommended the Mortimer Bistro. Excellent welcome - I had a coffee, the Turkish eggs and a shortbread millionaire - all were excellent.

Always a warm welcome and always delicious freshly cooked dishes, beautifully presented. Love the English and Veggie breakfast, and the pancakes are amazing. We’re regular visitors for coffee and cake too.

I visited with my mum for lunch. We both had Eggs Florentine. The service was great and the food lovely! The coffee and tea came in large cups, so maybe they changed them since previous feedback I saw on here. We found it good value and an enjoyable experience.

Popped in on off chance. Extremely expensive. Extras - slice of toast £1.50, fried eggs £1.50 a poached egg £2! Lovely coffee but in small cups. Won’t be going back.

This is a Cafe not a Bistro, Was delighted to be asked to join a group of friends as wanted to try a local restaurant, I naively assumed with the name ‘Bistro’, this would be a bistro, but it is just an expensive cafe. I was so disappointed, I had a salmon, crème cheese & avocado sandwich, which looked good when it was served, however, very thick slices of bread with very little filling, was dry, the chips were good and the staff friendly. Won’t be going back

Amazingly cheap drinks when I went on Friday, half price! I paid about £20 for 5 drinks and they were doubles! Will definitely be back next week too!

Went there for a big birthday, Break from everyday life. Looking forward to having some space, TV didn't work. Only compensation was 3 bottles of beer and a lie about a discount for the room. Waste of money and time. Not a pleasure but an expensive inconvenience. Why they don't check everything is working between guests is beyond me.
