Morrisons Cafe in East Staffordshire

The Cafe is freezing cold. The coffee machines require replacing and are frequently out of order and subject to repair which then fails the following day. The cafe regularly runs out of cups, napkins and other items. It is utterly ridiculous to this that this cafe is part of a national supermarket.

Had to wait at the till to give order Coffee machine not working so had to make own instant coffee that was provided free of charge Breakfast was average nothing special and wasnt too warm

Disgusting Breakfast food..Everything is deep fried and shrivelled up and luke warm...Dirty uncleared tables everywhere..Staff reasonably friendly but who would be happy serving this excuse for food....Coffee is nice and reasonably priced......Shame as its handy pre shopping...Will not return after several previous attempts...

Greasy fish and chips. No forks. No serviettes. Cold mushy peas that looked like they’d been sitting there for a week. Dirty trays. Long wait. Unfriendly staff. Needless to say never coming back ! Used to be lovely. What’s happened

The worst breakfast I have ever tasted. Went for the full English and I honestly could not tell the different between a sausage, a hash brown or bacon. It was all dripping in grease and almost made me vomit. Fried bread instead of toast just finished it off. It wasn’t cheap either. I couldn’t eat the majority of the breakfast it was truly disgusting. I have had Morrisons breakfast in other location and they were way better than this one in Burton. Avoid this place if u want a tasty breakfast

Sitting here writing this review after trying to eat everything on the plate. This was the worst breakfast we have ever had. It was expensive for what we had. The bacon was so dry you couldn't cut it or eat it. The beans were cheap and were runny. The hash browns and fried bread were so greasy they were inedible. Sausages just weren't nice. Don't normally complain, but it was awful! Photo is what we left!

The staff are bone idel and rude. Wife ordered quite a simple order from this cafe and they still managed to mess it up. Got order wrong and also blamed us for it. When issue finally resolved and corrected waitress slammed down on table no apology, nothing. Horribel attitude from them all. Only good thing was the drinks and coffee & even that were overpriced. Won’t return much better cafe in Leek....

Always our first choice for breakfast and brunch , the plate is full with selection of beans mushrooms sausages fried eggs and toast and a cup of latte goes just nicely with that , whether I go with my partner or my brother we all love the food

Popped in for a quick lunch. Nice selection of sandwiches and wraps. Can also get cooked meals. Food fresh and tasty. Took a piece of Rainbow cake home for the children. Tea was hot and stayed hot, even in a mug.

Popped in this cafe after shopping and had a small breakfast and a big daddy breakfast. Both were very nice. Staff friendly and helpful.

Very good sized delicious breakfast at a very attractive price. Very pleasant helpful staff. Quick service.

Don’t bother .the staff are crap the cutlery is dirty .close the dump .no excuse u have all the ingredients next to cafe bacon has more fat than meat

popped in for breakfast whilst staying at a local hotel , food was very good and at a reasonable price , nice that yu can make your own breakfast up. would use again if i was ever passing.

Shopping great experience, unless ordering fresh made pizza. Cafe atrocious (tried on a few occasions) with or without deals. I would recommend McDs on way out if you are that desperate. Personally I do not like McDs (just so you understand I'm not biased)

I have used this restaurant for many years but less so since self clearing of tables began.We now pay no less for our meals ,are expected to clear the tables ourselves, which also means cleaning the table as they do not get cleaned between customers by the staff.On this visit the tea pots were not properly cleaned and the cutlery was a disgrace(we had to clean it before use) I would not use it to put my dogs food out,this has been the trend since self clearing of tables began .We asked for decaf tea and were handed a tea bag with no packaging on it (This was done by the person who had just handled the cash to pay for our items, hygiene obviously not a priority here. The hygiene issue escalated since self clearing of tables began.The staff seem stretched to cope with the volume of work,other than the hygiene issues the staff could not be faulted.I will not be using this restaurant again.

One of the better supermarkets in town were you can do your weekly shop and the get a good meal at a very good price. Fish & Chips is one of the best

Coffee always good and polite staff, the price is good value and service always good, quiet in the mornings .

A lovely lunch. There was a short wait for the food which was good and the food was cooked perfect only slight down was the mushy peas but still went down well. Well worth a stop weather your shopping or hungry and passing.

Had lovely dinner here the staff was friendly and polite and it was very clean the price is very good value

A good solid breakfast here and it's cheap as chips. It's pretty good quality. Big daddy at £6 is well worth the effort trust me!

A great place to go for tasty quick food that's great value for money. Good for families and others alike. The fish and chips are delicious.

Just three of us came 14th April for something to eat and do a bit of shopping. There were quite a few empty tables considering it was a Saturday dinner-time. One had the breakfast and paid an extra £1.50 for toast and blackpudding. One had bacon and egg sandwich and I decided to have a cheese and tomato sandwich, there was plenty of cheese in the sandwiches and also included loose crisps in the sealed box. We have visited here before because its convenient when you need to shop and have a bite to eat all in one place. Prices are reasonable but don't expect anything too fancy, its just a cafe with cafe style food. You pay for drinks and if you want coffee etc., there is a machine to 'do it yourself' but this machine always seems to break down and the staff are on an endless job keep having to try and sort it out.

Always drop in for breakfast on the ways to see our son in Derby for excellent full breakfast at super value and very friendly staff. What more could you ask for.

We had a reasonable lunch; lamb shank and Salmon, although there wasn't much flavour in the Hollandaise sauce.

I was surprised how good the mocha coffee was from the Barista. I went with my son after shopping and was so pleasantly surprised. Excellent coffee.

We visited the cafe at approx 6 pm on friday night .The blonde cashier asked us what we wanted which was fish and chips for husband and scampi and chips for me . We were told it was a 15 minute wait. My husband was not even given a reciept . The cutlery had bits of food stuck between the prongs and on the cutting parts of the knives. The staff seemed to be wanting to chat with each other than interested in serving people . The manager had to apologise to one client .

Had several meals here. Its handy if youve been shopping but not atrat for the wife on special occasions.

Quiet Morning, dropped family off for shopping and I had a Birthday Breakfast voucher so decided to use it, not too many people in the Café, served quickly, Breakfast brought to my chosen table.

Morrison’s has got no excuse there is a super market next to the cafe also a inch of fat on the bacon

When i last went was a few months ago now and they updated the way tbe cafe/ restuarant looked so thoight give it ago from when used to go when was younger but still the same food tastless and cold, service slow the girl didnt know what she was doing

Stopped by here for food after a great day at Alton Towers.

This is the second time I have been here in four weeks for breakfast. I work in Morrison's in the South of England for my supplier and come up to meetings at a nearby factory. The place is clean, the service was quick and the staff friendly. I love a Morrison's Breakfast, the others cannot touch it. Excellent value and all nice and hot.

What can be said - its a Cafe in a Supermarket - ideal for shoppers not wanting to eat junk food at Mcd's or Burgerking .

Omg have been a couple of times even when not busy the wait times are ridiculous and tables do not get cleared or cleaned by staff think it's about time they had a shake up and even a refurb #Morrisons #poorservice

Absolutely appalling service. Long wait at till and for food. Then the order was incorrect when it arrived. Nice coffee though.

Decided to have lunch before doing our shop. What a mistake. After waiting 50 mins decided enough was enough and had our money back and left without eating. A lot of customers were complaining about the long wait for food. Complained to duty manager who said he didn't realise there was a problem. Seems the problem is a shortage of kitchen staff. Perhaps Morrisons should address this and put customers first. Needless to say we won't be repeating the experience again.

Needed a few bits so we stopped for brunch/shop...... wish we never.

Called in previous shopping for a coffee and cake, self serve OK coffee machine produces good standard coffee and cake was nice and fresh Very good value

I like Morrisons supermarket very much so jumped at the chance when I was offered a trip with four other members of my family. We all did our shopping and decided to stop off for lunch at the in store cafe We probably timed it wrongly as there was quite a queue but that's to be expected. Three of us ordered first whilst the others saved the tables as we wanted to eat together. Meals and drinks ordered and paid for pretty quickly ( although I would say - the orange and apple juice labels were switched around so the drink had to be discarded). Jacket potato arrived quickly eggs benedict and gammon soon after. One of our party ordered chicken but after paying and waiting was told it was unfortunately not available so gammon was ordered as a replacement and the difference refunded without question. Overall a good value for money meal , some service timing issues and drinks could be hotter. But nevertheless would recommend.

We got to the till to order, I had 2 small children with me both ordering there food the lady was sharp and snappy telling them they couldn't have this or that fair enough if it wasn't available but there is a nice tone to you rather than being abrupt which upset the children. My son is allergic to eggs so he specified no egg a few other alterations like no fried bread or butter were asked for all reasonable requests. So when the food came out my son had extra egg and there was still the others on the plate so all requests hadn't been acknowledged especially something as serious as an egg allergy. The food was dry the toast was hard and we left almost everything on our plates as we didn't think it was worth approaching the rude waitress again as the children were scared of her. The only plus side was the drinks were good that came out of a machine.

Popped in for mid morning breakfast on our way to visit the National Arbotorium , as always in which ever Morrisons we visit , the cafe was clean, spacious, great choice of freshly cooked food , quick polite. and friendly service - can't fault it and great value for money - keep up the great service!

Always a busy place to eat but the food is always good and value for money. You can have just a snack, a full all day breakfast or a main meal.

Brill Breakfast the big one just what one wants. Can Recommend. just before doing the shopping but we go just for the breakfast.

We have found that they often have a lot of tables full of dirty pots. Coffee machines often play up, and coffee can be a bit on the strong side. Waiting times on food can be a bit excessive especially at breakfast time.

Very poor service what we ordered we never got , tried to complain but she just walked off , after such a long wait and hungry we just eaten some off it and left really need to sort poor service , then they might get more customers in .

Who needs Pub restaurants when there is a supermarket cafe close by. Quality food at budget prices spot on

Good, everyday food. Obviously, it is a cafe environment so it okay if you are feeling peckish whilst doing a bit of supermarket shopping. Nice fish and chips.

i always go to morrisons when im out that way. it dosnt matter what time of day you go the food is always freshly cooked.

Morrisons cafe is a great place to get a snack or a bigger meal after you've done the shopping or just go there to eat - the car park is vast and free and you can fill the car up with cheap fuel on the way out.

I ate here with a colleague after a long day as it was close to the hotel we were staying in. We were served relatively quickly and the food was nice.

While staying at nearby Premier Inn ate breakfast here as had experienced bad service at Beefeater restaurant night before. Food choices were good and reasonably priced. Service was fast and friendly and with a smile.

Called in for coffee on a Friday morning so store was quite busy. Good food choices at very reasonable cost but the queue is very slow being held up by the self service drinks dispensers.

Go to Morrisons Cafe with my Dad every Tuesday evening after work. Always clean and tidy, cheap food but tasty. Most of the staff are friendly and smiley, just one slightly grumpy staff member.
