Morrisons Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Went in with two grandchildren did a bit of shopping kids said they were hungry while waiting in the queue we witnessed the girl doing the breakfast wiping her hands on her trousers and use her fingers to remove egg yolk she then adjusted someone's egg with her fingers we mentioned this to staff and was told it was probably someone who she just put on there to help out kids still wanted to eat to as they were only having nuggets and chips thought what could go wrong and actually they were both happy but on mine and husbands plate you could of broken a tooth with the black pudding eggs were rock hard and mushrooms cold when mentioned this the lady at the till she didn't even know what the black pudding was

We popped in to grab a quick breakfast, the food was tasty for the price but the service we received was absolutely exceptional! I'm so annoyed I forgot the lady's name but she was so great I spoke to a member of management to let them know. As a restaurant manager, I've seen more than my fair share of service staff, I'd employ this young lady in a flash!

We had been told that Morrisons do a really great lunch at a very reasonable price and we were not disappointed. They were so kind and friendly also!

Went for a coffe , the mature assistant was on the till with bits of tissue in her hand obvious had a runny nose which she gave me change along with bits of tissue which I thought was disgusting, we then Sat with our coffee and cake on one side of the the divide the rail with the glass ledge was thick with dirt. Spoke to a cleaning staff in the shop who just said she didn't clean the caffee a d to speak to someone in the cafe, there was no one in the cafe that looked as if they were in charge

I went to the so called Cafe in Morrisons, Bodmin to have a cooked breakfast. What a waste of time this turened out to be. I asked for a Full Breakfast but, I was told there was a 35 minute wait for this. The Cafe was not at all busy so, I asked why there was such a long wait for this. I wasn;t given any answer so, I left this rubbish place and went to a competitor of theirs, Asda in Bodmin. I ordered a Full Breakfast, which was cheaper than the Morrisons Full Breakfast and, I was served withinh 5 minutes. Morrisons Store and Cafe in Bodmin, continues to go downhill at an ever increasing rate. Morrisons is a complete disaster. They continue to rip of people and expect people to continue shopping there. 1 example of this is their contined price hikes. I bougha jar of L'or coffee for £4, the price has changed to £6.75 for the exact same product. How can they justify thie price hike? A void Morrisons at all costs, just go to Asda instead.

If I could give it a lower review I would. The guy was busy clearly I get that but he barked the reply at me when I asked about where cutlery was.. he was wearing a red cheque top and hat. He obviously thought he was some kind of Mitchelln star chef or resturantor. It made me feel angry and now I have to wait half an hour for a breakfast. I'm starving and having dark thoughts.

Meeting a friend, had lunch. First time the government meal thing had just started, everything was half price, so was the quality, I had fish and chips and mushy peas. The fish was hot, but the chips were cold and the peas were dried - brown. When we met up again for lunch the system was much better, they had screens installed and it was better managed and run a week later, I had a bacon butty which was ok.

Went here in August as they were doing half price meals. havent eaten in Morrisons before but was really surprised. lovely food. i had a cheese and bacon beef burger and chips and my little boy had a chicken nuggests, chips and beans. very well cooked burger. a bit slow serving the food as it was busy but we were told this. definately come back again

We were in the area and decided to visit Morrisons (Bank Holiday Monday on the Rishi offer). We were told it would be an hour wait on food so we just had drinks but we did appreciate being given an idea on the wait. We also visited the next day and whilst they didn't have any kid's sandwiches available, they were happy to make one. All in all, a very friendly and helpful cafe.

So, after shopping in the local morrisons we decided to take advantage of the government's eat out scheme. 2 adults meals ordered with 2 free children. Half price too. Thought it was a good deal. The meals took 45 minutes to arrive, the vegetarian meal came with added bacon, and the childrens meal came with an item i had advised my child was allergic to, the other main meal came missing items that was not mentioned at the point of ordering.the waiter couldnt care less. The incorrect 2 plates were taken away and returned correct. By then the other 2 people had finished. I felt that no apology was offered and that we shouldnt make any fuss as we were eating for a good price. Im not sure we will be returning even tho we have always loved a morrisons meal.

arriving to morrisons café is always a treat, its got a relaxed atmosphere and the food is really good for value, personally I enjoy the big daddy breakfast which is a huge all day breakfast that is very affordable and worth the value, massive thanks to the morrisons café team :)

Warm and cosy on a rainy day. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food good. Popped in for a late lunch while visiting Bodmin.

Go here quite often, once again it was very good. We go here for breakfast, freshly cooked, tasty, friendly staff, good service, good value for the price, clean cafe.

We had a brunch and enjoyed it so much went back the next day for breakfast. Both meals were excellent with good helpings and the coffee was also good. Service was very good although breakfast was a bit slower due to number of people in the cafe. Thoroughly recommend.

I'm writing this review because of the very good and kind service we had from the staff. It makes a big difference when they are interested in their customers and making sure they are happy. The food was good value and we had a filling meal AND a pudding, at a cheap price!I had the vegan lasagne which I did not particularly enjoy as I prefered a vegetarian lasagne to a vegan one but I am not sure this is still on the menu. The view of the car park was not particulary nice, but apart from that it was nice to sit outside at the tables provided on a sunny day and then do your shopping after.

It is trying to be something it cannot be. Food is mostly tepid and I had to send it back once and obtain a refund. Couldn't get much worse.

We needed a quick breakfast on the way out - we are local.Never been before and fancied an eggs Benedict - no poached eggs (can they not cook them?), no muffins so I got a nearly hard fried egg on toast with a surprisingly passable sauce.My partner got a big breakfast but they had run out of black pudding.The staff were very helpful and tried their best but I would have been embarrassed to work there.The coffee is terrible - light brown water.I will never return.

Haven’t been here for a while, the staff were a lot more friendlier, the breakfast was fresh, tasty and good value for the money. Found it a lot better than our last visit. Place very clean & tidy. Well worth a visit.

Went back to the hole to see if it has improved I has not the vile woman who runs it was nowhere to be seen the place was shabby and untdy the few staff that were running it looked tired and ill I feel so sorry for them I didn't eat there too many upset stomachs I can tell you the food is horrible they must put something in it for people to come back everyday they must not have a life just like the sad tourist s try it most don't come back they think it's cheap but is expensive in the long run the place is just so unhappy esp when it rains so they all pile in and expect a good service I say go away and go somewhere else!

Terrible, after queueing up for ages behind an old lady who couldn’t work the hot drinks machines and stopped them from working, the girl at the till finally got them working,this wasn’t a problem as not everyone knows how to use those machines but we spent a little extra time waiting to be served. My friend was in front of me and asked for Jacket Potato, but they have only just been put on to cook the chief shouted with the girl at the till saying sorry no Jacket Potato yet, my friend said forget it I’ll just have the drink. Then I asked for the ham and chips, sorry no ham I’m afraid here’s the menu to see what you want, passing me a menu beside the till, so if you have a menu there does this happen often??? While I stood for 90 seconds in the way at the till with my drink looking at the menu that was passed to me, I said forget I’ll just have the drink, the girl apologised. We had our drinks and left for a meal at Asda. The point being is MORRISONS, if you run out of food on the menu put a note on the board that it is not available so customers don’t get feed up with queuing for some time just to be told that you’ve ran out. It’s annoying for your customers and you’re losing custom also it is hard on your employees that have to deal with constantly apologising to customers for lack of food on the menu.

My husband and I had fish & chips, batter was light & crunchy, fish was white (as it should be) the portion was large, with chips and peas are added if you wish. Food freshly cooked & hot. We ate at 12.30 so restaurant was not over full. We have had to wait for 20mins for meal sometimes but that’s understandable as restaurant can get really busy. Can see why as food good and prices very reasonable.

Fantastic fry up, but the service was even better. I arrived 10minutes before the till opened, but was able to enjoy a coffee and order my breakfast whilst I waited for the cafe to officially open. Once it had my breakfast was served to my table with smiles and care. Thank you Morrisons!

Quite disappointed with the quality of the food we were served. Only luke warm and not the best quality. Good teatime offers on but not at lunchtime so disappointed with food for price we paid, but perhaps next time we will choose differently from the menu. Overall food served by pleasant and helpful staff and did not have to wait too long.

Older guy on till and cleaning tables were rude when I spoke to him, young new girl working very helpful and nice ,food could some days and others over cooked

This was my second visit and both occasions I went for the Big Daddy Breakfast. Having a good appetite, it would seem rude not to, knowing it's there on the menu, beckoning! Both times I returned to my car afterwards feeling...well, full, and happy.

Waited over half an hour for cold food, told the server and he didn't seem bothered. We'll shop at asda next time :)

We have visited this cafe on a number of occasions on various holidays spent in Cornwall and it has been ok but this holiday we have visited twice and I had a cheese omelette that both times was over cooked and rubbery and the cheese had ‘bled out’ and was burnt. My other half’s meat free brekkie was ok. The service was friendly and prompt, we have no complaints about the staff whatsoever, they do a sterling job but please reduce the time the omelettes spend in the micro!!!! Coffees and hot chocs etc are lovely.

IF your in a hurry please do not go to morrision as the waiting time gets really bad.So of the food thats comes out are ok but most of the time they have not got what you want

The service is a lot better now seem to have better staff now, all freshly cooked food, good value meals, have good meal deals. Worth a visit.

Went to the cafe at 6pm to be told they were no longer serving food apart from fish and chips as they were closing yet it clearly stated the cafe was open until 7pm

Go here quite often but noticed the service & quality of food went down hill last year, but this time the service was a lot better, the food was tasty & hotter, the cafe was clean, hopefully it’s on the up.

Called into cafe last week before going shopping with my mum.

Found a good selection on the menu, breakfast is freshly cooked, didn’t have to wait to long, was hot n tasty , staff friendly, average price, worth a visit.

Just before noon we joined the queue of two and it took ten minutes to get through, was told as were the customers in front of us, hot food would take about ten minutes, still waiting twenty five minutes later. Yet the operation abounded with staff and many things like chips and beans are easily cooked, staff appeared to be going back and forth and achieving very little, already the customers are doing 90% of the work in getting drinks and other items, staff are needed to work the till and cook the food. Staff spent much time concerned with a yellow plastic bollard in the café denoting wet floor, eventually taking it away only to let a customer in with one of the stores trolley`s which of course was outside on a very wet day, no food in it, the customer did not need it for support, so why let them bring the dirty and wet trolley in the Café? The food hot in parts, not particularly good quality, the meal was bland, certainly not value for money. This is one Café to be avoided.

Today at 14:15 the café was only 30% full, yet we were informed there was a 40 minute wait for cooked food. We decided to have a Panini each instead, to be told it was still a 40 minute wait ! Clearly this is unacceptable Morrison's, surely a Panini doesn't take 40 minutes ?

4 in the till queue but still took 15 minutes until we were served by which time my coffee was cold. Then informed food l was a 20 minute wait. Half an hour and a tripadvisor review later and it's just arrived.

Mucho aparcamiento, no muy lejos de la A30, amable pero promedio. Fuimos unos 130 pm varias mesas no había sido despejada y tenía sobras en. El café era de autoservicio y el moca tenía un color raro en la parte superior, un poco insípida, pero no esperaba su grandeza. La experiencia no estuvo mal.

Buen desayuno. Buen servicio. El desayuno fresco y no tuve que esperar. Estaba de vacaciones en la zona y fue suficiente.

Después de un día de compras con mi esposa y mi nieta que es un lugar muy agradable para relajarse tienen un café y una comida

Actualizado recientemente sus Morriston café en Bodmin moor y ahora es un espacio mucho más agradable y cómodo en el que comer o parada para tomar un té o un café mientras compras o simplemente para probar sus comidas.

Awful service, sulky staff reluctant to help. Chef cross contaminating veggie breakfast with server used for bacon and sausages, food took ages to arrive, omelettes like leather, fish full of bones served with no warning to partially sighted person, altogether not a great place to eat.

They just do not seem to get it right here, food is OK, reasonable choice. Service is lacking, coffee machine always seems to be playing up. You seem to go away wishing you had gone some where else.

Popped in after a busy morning Christmas shopping with a 6 year old and 3 year old in tow. Ordered simple meals and was told a 20 minute wait, which is fine (that is about the limit for entertaining 2 small children!) after a 50 minutes later and we were still waiting! After sitting for an hour I went up to the counter and after complaining our cold, dried up food was brought out, my sons pizza still had unmelted cheese on the top and was cold in the middle, my 3 year old daughter refused to eat it!! We picked our way through and decided it wasn't on so we were given a full refund. They were clearly understaffed and couldn't cope! Whilst I did feel for the lady getting the backlash ( we weren't the only ones requesting a refund) it wasn't our fault they couldn't keep up with the customers! Will be avoiding from now on!

Haven't been to Morrisons for a while, decided to do some shopping and have a meal with my family. All I can say is a great price especially when you eat after 3pm as kids meals are free with an adult meal £4.50 and over and they all start form £4.50 . The food was tasty and enjoyable and just the right amount. Desserts are around £2 each and a good portion and you get a free drink with the meal, So for about £15 you feed 2 adults and a child with desserts! Kids get a dessert for £1. I think this is worth another visit. This was my first visit to this cafe. The only fault I could see is if your family was larger than 4 as the seats are either for 2 persons or 4 persons so any bigger and you could be separated.

At 14.23 on Friday 25th November 2016 I ordered two Christmas specials of pate followed by beef & stilton pie, which came with mashed potato & peas. The starter came very quickly, however while waiting for the main at 14.35 we decided to order two fish & chip takeaways as they were on offer at £3. After a while our takeaway was brought to us. We reminded the lady we were still waiting for our main meal. At 15.00 I went to chase it up and was told it was on its way. At 15.08 some 45 minutes after ordering, the meals arrived. The peas were cold and the mash potato had obviously been sat under a hot lamp and acquired a crust which had been stirred in. Giving the texture of hard lumps. This was also barely warm, however the pie was very very hot. We ate and returned home with the takeaways. When I looked at these meals they were only half the size compared to the quantity we normally get when eating in. The board advertising the offer indicated it was the normal £5 portions, on offer for 'black friday' at £3, no mention of it being because it was smaller portions. We eat at Morrisons Bodmin quite often, however this recent experience has left us reconsidering our next visit.

Good value breakfast and really good service. Will use more often. Have had lunch a couple of times and always great value and great tasting.

Sometimes the service is quick at this store, depending on who is on the till, other times it is very, very slow. By the time you get to your table your tea is cold! At busy times, i.e. lunchtimes they should put someone quick on the till. Food is variable, sometimes really nice and others, not good! What are the managers doing? They should be checking this, but never see them in the café, and I go there weekly. Some of the staff would benefit from customer service training, not all just some!

Had lunch of battered fish with a side salad.The fish was beautifully fresh in the lightest crispiest batter, very much like a tempura batter very well cooked and not at all greasy. The side salad and coleslaw was very fresh too. Husband had gammon egg and chips and he said his was very nice.Very good value.

I eat here when working away on business as the same type of meal is less than half of what it costs in a pub and just as good if not better. Good honest food in clean surroundings and no waiting around for hours to be served or to get the bill which is why I started eating at Morrisons. I can stock up on drinks and snacks for the night and it is still cheaper than eating out at the pub. I've had everything off the menu and cannot fault it. All the staff are great. A credit to Morrisons!

We popped in on more than one occasion while we were camping nearby. The breakfast is excellent and well worth visiting the store for.

The cafe here is great value for money & we enjoyed tasty fish & chips, which had just been made to order. The coffee was freshly ground & not too strong or weak (being from a machine). All in all this cafe is very good value for money.

My wife and I had Fish, chips and mushy peas in this cafe on the24th March. They were disgusting. The fish flesh was a strange colour and the batter was swimming in grease.The chips were limp and the mushy peas were tasteless.Not in the same class as Sainsburys equivalent meal.

Service is very slow, the food is never hot and is not well presented. O.K. if you are not in a hurry but would be much better off going to a local café .

Food and service pretty much what you would expect from a supermarket café. Wouldn't win awards but hey! Nice coffee.Without being rude the staff could do with a bit of training. Cheap and cheerful!

Extremely good value lunch, good choice of meals, I had the lamb shank which was very nice. The rest in my party very happy with their meals too. Basic but this is reflected in the price.

They are very slow at serving food purely because there is never enough staff working.If morrisons cafe was faster they would get busier but the place cannot keep staff

Just nipped in with my two year old whilst shopping. Its cheap but the service was slow and the cutlery and tables were gross. My daughters peas were stone cold and grey and my food was greasy and unappetizing.

All ways a good choice on the menu and at a reasonable price. The drinks are not over priced and again a good selection. The staff cheery and helpful. Clean tables

When staying in Bodmin, we often take breakfast in this Morrisons Café. Over three days we had a breakfast, Scrambled egg on toast, sausage sandwiches, all reasonably priced and served within 10 minutes or less. Most of these were under £4 a day, considerably less than other establishments that offer breakfast around £8, may be all you can eat, but I tend to feel that somebody is paying for the free children's breakfast. We also had the two meals for £9 including drinks here, and the fish and chips is to be recommended in particular.3

the service was terrible. mum and i ordered a Jacket Potato, and it had came out Luke warm where as my dads dinner came out hot. i doubt i will visit again.

Not much good, watch the coffee machine as water comes out after a bit of coffee, pull your cup out when you see water then start again to top up with coffee.

I stopped here for a breakfast with my family I had a full English breakfast it was about 11:15 it was the only thing I'd eaten all day, when we arrived back home after a 6 hour journey I had terrible stomach pains followed by the worst EVER vomiting and the other side effects of food poisoning I actually thought I was going to die , feel fragile today and going to complain tomorrow

Keeping this short as I could carry on for the day! Food terrible. I had a tuna jacket potato and they must have got it mistaken for cucumber on a jacket because all I saw was mayonaise and cucumber!! Service is slow and un inviting! When we complained we got a dollop of tuna added which was still just mayonaise with abit of cucumber. Still no sign of tuna! Wont be coming again and advise them to be checked out as their hygiene is terrible! !

Expected much better from Morrisons. Staff were operating in slow motion, surly, unhelpful but very quick to chat amongst themselves while the queue at the till got longer and longer. No concept of cheerfulness or customer service evident anywhere. Hygiene was questionable - same person serving "fresh" food as was clearing away dirty dishes and wiping down tables. I had a baked potato with chilli filling. It arrived 30 minutes after ordering on a stone cold plate and the food was only luke warm. Not recommended unless you are desperate for something to eat.

Firstly the positive...........Have eaten fish and chips there a few times and it has always been really tasty, so will recommend it.However, visited the café at 6p.m. this week and ordered curry which was ok. At the same time our food was delivered a couple nearby had theirs brought to them. The man's food tasted off and the lady complained. She was met with quite a rude reply from a member of the kitchen staff. It took a long time for the complaint to be dealt with and in the end the lady had a refund for both meals.Whilst she was waiting another man complained that the meal he had been waiting for had to far taken 50 minutes to arrive. He was told it would be sorted and he sat down to wait. This didn't happen and he had to go back to the counter again. He had ordered at least 5 meals for his family. In the end he asked for a refund, The member of staff tried attempted to issue the refund but made a mistake when using the till. He swore very loudly for everyone in the café to hear.To cut a long story short, the refund was only issued when the manager was called and the poor family with children had to find somewhere else to eat. In the short time we were there at least 7 payments for meals had to be refunded!

I had to attend court as a civilian prosecution witness and was kept waiting for half a day. The court has no catering except a sweets machine and I was sent down the hillside path to this hypermarket cafe. Bit noisy but friendly, cheap, hot and cold food. Lot of pensioners and mothers with young children.

Took my relatives out to two national trust properties in Cornwall, and visited this 'restaurant' for a Sunday lunch.The cashier was not very helpful, and they did not have much left in the sunday lunch category.I had omlette, which was fairly tasteless and overcooked, one my sister-in-laws had the same, and also didn't enjoy it very much. My other sister-in-law had salmon, which was ok, but the vegetables were indifferently cooked, new pots hard, peas over-cooked. My brother-in-law had lasagne which he said was ok.Visit this restaurant for sunday lunch at your peril.

We were touring in the area and just wanted something to fill a corner until lunchtime. We both had the 'Flying Start' It arrived quickly and looked good. 2 sausage, bacon, fried bread, tomato, egg, and a very good pot of tea. Very filling and delicious. You always know that the standard of breakfast at a Morrisons will be good. We were not disappointed.

So convenient sor a cuppa and a quick bite after the effort of doing the weekly everythinf hot and fresh

Typical supermarket cafe, This particular one is OK for a coffee, the food just about passes muster, which is a shame as it could be a lot better if the cook s put in more effort. Not as good as Tesco in St Austell for example.

Good value meals throughout the day -nothing special but tasty and very reasonably priced,two meal deals saves you a quid or so.

I often do jobs at local addresses and hate packed lunches so am always looking for somewhere for a bite. Lots of reviews on TA but have to say that Morrisons is about the only happy place with convenient parking, a wide selection of hot and cold meals at good prices with a convivial throng of other eaters. I like it.

I was called to give evidence at the nearby Magistrates Court and was not warned of the interminable delays or the lack of catering in the Court House. Not impressed by the confectionary dispenser and having been told we had potentially two hours to waste we took the advise of other court users and walked down to Morrisons. Absolute bliss. Busy but quick, good selection of food and drink and all very cheap. Friendly and welcoming, which is more than can be said for the Court's treatment of witnesses. Maybe they should be rated on Tripadvisor!

Came to Bodmin for a morning meeting. Almost everywhere else shut at breakfast time. Morrisons came up with easy free parking and a first rate breakfast. Surprisingly busy lively ambience. Recommended. Good value hearty food too.

Maybe an unconventional listing for an old town with an established centre but it is a serious entry because the cafe area in this large hypermarket not far up Priory Road with plenty of parking is a regular local venue for groceries and petrol. The cafe is open long hours, always fully stocked and staffed, has a wide range of fresh hot and cold food with comfortable seating, outside windows and a generally lively bustling feel. I have spent more to eat less well in less appealing environments in lots of other places in this town. Morrisons has become and rightly deserves to be our default option.
