Morrisons Penzance WARNING...OK, so beware Challenge 25!! Just been in this store to buy dinner and my partner picked up 4 bottles of Rattler cider. As the hand held basket was full my 16 yr old daughter offered to hold one of the bottles so that it didn't fall. After we had off loaded our shopping at the till the gentleman apologised and said he had been told he had to check my daughters ID as she was seen carrying the bottle of cider...whilst walking with adults around the shop. He had to call a woman called Nat over and as my daughter is under 18 and had no ID we were told we couldn't buy the cider. I explained that I was buying it for myself and she refused to sell it to us. My partner offered to take cider to another till to pay, but no we could be buying by proxy! Laughable! At 16 she can have a drink at home with us. What annoyed me was the attitude of Nat and the way she spoke to me and my daughter. Complete lack of customer service, surely she could have approached earlier rather than leaving it to create a situation at the till. Problem is the store was practically empty and she'd got too much time on her hands...maybe they should look at their staffing ? Perhaps others have experienced Nat's friendly service and have chosen to shop at Sainsburys down the road, which is where we bought the rest of our shopping!

There is ample car parking and even during peak season plenty of spaces to park. The choice of large or medium size trollies with no need to deposit a coin or token is also appreciated. On entering the shop, there is a tempting selection of freshly baked goods, some on special offer and then the usual green grocery selection as a gateway to the rest of the store. Lighting is good and reasonable space between the aisles. There is a wide selection of goods for sale, including fresh fish, meat, eggs and further in to the store some clothing and other household goods, making this truly a ‘super market’. After buying what you need, there is a canteen style restaurant. The food is reasonable to good, I recommend the cooked breakfast if shopping in the earlier part of the morning. Tables are arranged to give a view of the car park, not the most scenic part of the local area but possibly the best option that is available. As you leave, there are some leaflets (I think these are free) about local attractions which is a nice idea and something other supermarkets would do well to think about. Prices are very reasonable and staff and other customers friendly without being too intrusive. They have even provided several covered bays around the car park so you don’t have to take the trolley back to the front of the store. Overall an incident free experience and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Happy to allow people to not wear masks and to not socially distance. Manager and staff ignorant and argumentative when approached regards a group of customers not observing the law. Pretty disgusting. Won’t be shopping there again.

Good food, Poor Management. We visited twice on a recent trip to Cornwall and the food was fantastic but they do like to say no. On the first trip there was no vinegar.. it’s based in a supermarket (for 21p and a 1 minute walk we had vinegar) on the second occasion they were out of scrambled egg! Yes being based in a supermarket they could Russel up a scrambled egg. The cafe staff were friendly but really Morrisons some effort is needed here. A can do attitude is needed here.

We often use Morrisons for Petrol & Diesel (The Petrol Station is close by on the opposite side of the long rock road) Well stocked and a great alternative to the larger Tesco & Sainsburys other side of the A30 A bonus we think is the little garden supplies outlet to the right of the main building. You can pay for the plants at the till in the centre, so no need to go into the main supermarket. Good size car park, Cash till external Paper / cigarette kiosk , Dry cleaning point plus toilets immediately on the right as you enter the front doors

On a recent through visit we decided to stop at this Morrison’s to get fruit and a fresh to go salad. We walked in and got the necessary fruit and went round to the fresh to go department. We got there and discovered that there was next to nothing available in this department and there weren’t any staff about to ask (at this point it was about 4 o’clock and our local branch still has product at this time) we then decided to proceed to pay for our fruit. We went to the self scan and scanned the fruit but it said it needed authorising for some reason. We looked around to see if there were any staff nearby and there was a man in a suit who looked like a manager standing close by, he offered us no assistance or no help to find another member staff. We then went to a fill opposite and the same thing happened and the man who looked like a manager again offered no assistance and just proceeded to remove our basket from the other till. After waiting a few minutes and no other staff coming and no help from the other man we decided to leave the fruit and go to Sainsbury’s across the road, where we got pasta, fruit and assistance at the self scan. Certainly would not recommend this shop to anyone who wants decent service.

This was my first visit to a Morrison's and I can't say I was impressed. The car park is massive and is like a maze. It took me ages to find the way out. There were no trolleys by the entrance and I had to go looking for one in the 'drop off ' area. There was no sense to the arrangement of the aisles. The prices I would say we're probably a bit higher than Sainsbury's but that might have been just the items I picked. The aisles are to narrow. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all I don't think I'll be going back.

It was quite windy on Sunday; I could definitely detect a drop in the temperature. Is this a portent of nature's impending wrath? Could there be white stuff before Christmas? No...probably not. It may have been a touch on the cool side but at least the sun was shining and the coastline around Penzance never disappoints on days like this. After taking in some sea air and admiring the epic view across Mount's Bay, St Micheal's Mount sitting, as always, in numinous splendour, I drove the short distance from Station Car Park to Morrisons near Long Rock. Lunch on this occasion was a simple affair: battered fish with mixed salad. Simple it may have been, but it was cooked to perfection; chips would have been an unnecessary distraction. Yes, that set me up for the rest of the day. This was not the first time I had dined here and, if Sunday's experience is anything to go by, it will not be the last. Highly recommended.

This cafe has been refurbished, it looks lovely. Morrisons champion employing people from all works is life. The staff were friendly and efficient. They took our order at the counter and I requested no tomato on my veggie breakfast so they offered me another hash brown all for 3.95! Yes it's certainly not gourmet but it's a supermarket what do you expect! Coffee is lovely too. Breakfast was hot and fresh a bit too much for me to be honest. Can't see how you can complain for this price. Was packed when we were there, says it all really. Keep up the good work.

We live nearer to the Penzance branch but choose to use the Redruth cafe when out shopping. Penzance was recently refurbished given a modern decor but falls short on the service. This seems due to them being continually short staffed. The problem does not appear to be addressed. The cutlery is often wet from the dishwasher, sometimes not replenished, and having to ask the overworked staff to replace anything not available. The food is good but the poor staff always seem rushed. Pleasant at all times however, management please review.

Had fabulous fish and chip dinner. Food hot. No waiting but......Nice chap on till running around fetching cutlery between trying to serve customers. Cutlery I collected was wet and not totally clean. The big let down was state of tables. Plates eventually cleared but tables not wiped down at same time! That happened about 10 minutes later. Then one staff member did one table half heartedly and missed at least 3 others. Then a second chap came round and did same thing so tables still had food debris left on as did some chairs and the floor was also a mess. We were in cafe for at least 49 minutes and by time we left tables were still dirty.

We were told by the man on the till that there would be a 20 minute wait. Not a good start. Went to the cutlery and there were three knives left, two of which were not just dirty they still had food attached. Within minutes of sitting down (with one knife between us) it became clear that something was seriously wrong. The lady behind us had been waiting almost ONE HOUR for food and there was no food exiting the kitchen, in fact it appeared there was no cook! She challenged the man on the till and demanded to see a manager. Without her fortitude we may still be waiting now, but thankfully our meals arrived just over 45 minutes later. The food was good - considering - and the waiter apologised to everyone, but too little too late I'm afraid. Never again

Once a month we hope it is going to get better to no avail, stock not in, then there is the stock has "sold out first thing in the morning", when you have gone in the night before, to be told on the lorry for tonight's delivery, you go to the shelf the next morning.....Then there is the offers, do they get xtra stock in, so everyone gets a fair go, course not, that would be too easy. Then when the electric goes off, r u the customer informed when you go in to find all the end of the refridgerated cabinets are empty (where the offers r), you dare ask what is happening "electric been off a few times, produce removed", ooops that makes so much so sense, when just around the corner, we have pork, chicken etc all displayed and ready to take off the shelves for your shopping, strange that. Then we have the harrassed and overworked staff, who handle pressure all different ways, some smile and apologise, some are down beat, some are rude, take your pick.

We were told there was a 15 to 20 min wait ( reasonable as it takes time to cook) ended up taking more than an hour! When it did finally come out it was cold and horrible but didn't like to complain and wait another hour. It's very cheap (children eat free) but not cheap enough for what we ate.
