Visited here on a Friday lunch time. It is situated above a food hall near Rochdales outdoor market. There is a lift into “cafe” if you struggle with stairs. Parking is free in Rochdale centre on the town hall for a few hours and is a short walk. The menu is not extensive. There were specials on but most of which were sold out. The cakes, I believe , are home made and did look delicious. We both had a steak Canadian, a mocha and a coke. Mocha didn’t really taste of anything. Steak Canadians were basic with a small salad. Cost around £20. The place is beautiful, spacious, very clean and modern inside and very light which I liked a lot as I hate eating in dark places. Some interesting things on menu, and staff were ok. Toilets are down lots of steps. I hope they do well as a new small business in an up and coming town centre.

Took my Mum for her birthday from phoning to book and arriving felt so welcomed. Staff were lovely. The afternoon was amazing, you could tell everything was homemade. A lovely little cafe in the heart of Rochdale with views of the river and town hall. Highly recommend. Best afternoon tea in Rochdale

I have been to Montague's on a number of occasions and quite randomly myself, my grandma, sister, niece and nephew went in for food after looking at Rochdale's artisan market (a new hot spot for locals). We were seated promptly and had an amazing view looking over the market and were able to listen to live music. There is a play area for children and the menu/specials board is fantastic. Even better Prosecco is sold! Our afternoon was amazing and the girls who work there are so accommodating. It is just what we needed in our little but big town.

Went for lunch last weekend at suburb, heard really good things about it so wanted to try. As soon as we walked in the vibe was off, we weren’t acknowledge at all and when we asked for menus they told us where they were so we could grab them ourself! and when we grabbed the menus she said rudely you need to order and pay at the bar even though every other person was served at there table. When we went upto the bar to order the lady behind the bar, Vicky was so rude i was shocked. When i paid i realised they charged me the service charge without asking me, if they asked i would of payed it anyway but they never mentioned it and charged me the service charge when we weren’t even served! the only nice thing i can say is the food was okay and one young girl called layla who was the only member of staff who treated us like actual customers!

The Chicken Roulade at The Pavilion is hands down the best dish I’ve had in ages – absolutely packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. Please, please, please never take it off the menu! The whole place has such a lovely atmosphere – calm, cosy, and really welcoming. The staff are even lovelier – attentive, kind, and genuinely make the experience feel special. A real hidden gem that delivers on all fronts. Can’t wait to come back!
