Mollis in Nottingham

The decor is fun though it's a bit noisy when there's lots of people in. I don't think the prices are excessive for fried chicken of this quality - it's a long way from KFC. Very good cocktails and an interesting selection of beers. We had a range of menu items and enjoyed them all - portions are quite large. Service is pleasant but a bit erratic.

Great portion sizes. Full of flavour (and spice). We bought burgers, sides and chicken wings each and it was so much food. Also recommend the chicken skin “nibbles”. Will return!

Love the concept and the staff were very friendly but the service was slow . Couldn’t fault the food - very tasty and clearly great quality ingredients . However - a similar meal in another chicken place in the City (Chicken , two portions of fries , 1 soft drink and an ice cream) would have been around £30 . The bill in Mollis was £75 including the pre applied service charge (which I have no problem with ) . It was really good - but this is just too expensive for fried chicken served in metal plates and paper .

Really enjoyed every aspect of our evening at Mollis. Lovely greeting on arrival & friendly, attentive service throughout. One vegetarian in our party - and the bean burger was absolutely stunning, so flavourful 😋. And those fir apple potatoes - so inventive & delicious The meat eaters loved the textures & tastes in their chicken sandwiches and all the extra fillings, top notch. Luckily, we saved space for the soft serve - each of the 3 different ones we had was superb & so many different textures and tastes - we were definitely impressed that something so simple sounding could be so inventive. The final mention goes to the drinks list - beers that satisfied the craft beer geeks and the cocktails were absolutely above & beyond - such unusual combinations & flavours. All in all, Mollis delivers 100% in every aspect, well done guys 🥰

Sister restaurant to Michelin-started Alchemilla, which is a gem in the Nottingham foodie scene, there is a lot of promise for Mollis. The concept is hip and fun, as is the decor (though table format and interior design is a bit too streamlined). Food is outstanding for the most part, with bar menu a highlight and soft serve a nice gimmick. The real letdown is in the service, which was chaotic. Our main server got our order wrong - TWICE - which would have been easily avoided with a bit more menu knowledge and better attentiveness. This was only resolved after complaining to a food runner - the actual server nowhere to be found - and eventually speaking with an apologetic manager. Another lowlight was having to flag down the bartender to order a drink, as servers all congregating on their phones around a corner. All in all, this is exceptional food and would be an easy fix with a bit more focused management.

Been here a few times and never disappoints. The chicken is always very tasty and crisp. Love the unusual sides, cocktails and ice cream.

Had dinner here at Saltbox (Molli’s took over the kitchen) was expecting big things but the burger was not nice at all. Had an overly salty and bitter taste. Ordered the Nashville burger. Chips were okay but nothing special

We’ve walked passed this place many times and wanted to try it. We initially went to try the Sazerac cocktail, but ordered food as well. We ordered chicken sandwiches, fries and tempura mushrooms. I had the truffle bechamel & caramelised onion sandwich and my boyfriend had the Nashville. Absolutely delicious, well thought out with attention to detail on the flavours. The tempura was hot, crispy and mushrooms were very, very tasty. The fries were fantastic. I ordered the Okonomiyaki fries and these were outstanding. Not mention the lovely sauces (Miso Ranch and Wild Garlic mayo). Sazeracs were top-drawer too. Great friendly service at just the right pace. Vibes and tunes were 👌 We are definitely coming back. A bit of a hidden gem!

Went for cocktails after seeing the menu because they sounded amazing! They didn't disappoint. Really well made and experimental. The avocado tequila and the chicken wing one were particular highlights. Will definitely go again for cocktails and will try the food at some point. Really friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the cocktails. Clean and comfortable environment. Good toilets with Bramley hand wash!

If there is a better chicken spot in Nottingham I haven’t found it yet! Great flavours, excellent wings, awesome burgers and the best Ice cream I think I’ve ever eaten. I tried the Gochujang buffalo wings and the hot honey wings. The Gochujang buffalo are the best hot wings I’ve ever eaten. I love wings, and these are hands down the best! My wife and daughter who are less fond of spice really enjoyed the hot honey which were also delicious. Onto the burgers, excellent all Round. Smashing pickles, great sauces. Absolutely worth a trip! But the best was yet to come. Soft serve ice cream! (don’t be put off by the size, they are plenty rich enough) Try them all! The ice cream itself is gorgeous, but the garnishes, little mouthfuls of magic! Glorious, sweet, textured, boozy, crunchy, delicious bites of magic! My favourite was the popcorn, my wife’s favourite the Sherry soaked raisins! Outstanding! Oh, and the music was awesome as well! Method Man and Soft serve, what’s not to love!!!

Simply the best fried chicken wings and burgers you could ever eat. Love their parmesan topped fries and delicious dips. Cocktails are amazing. Service is very good. Always leave here full.

Where do I begin? A room of concrete and graffiti art… sounds odd when you say it out aloud but this is a must go to restaurant. We took my brother in law out for his birthday. Customer service excellent, quick, polite and full of recommendations. Food was exceptionally tasty and served beautifully simply (street food vibes) and cocktails clearly made by a super mixologist. Top draw experience. We will be back. Thank you. Scotch Bonet Mayo a must try.

Been wanting try here for a while. Ordered cocktails first. These were super. The chicken cracking was good. We then ordered two burgers they were both too rich after a few mouthfuls very sickly. It wasn’t just the sauce the bun was sweet there was hardly any salad. Chicken was also sweet in the coating. Our fries were okay. Too much seasoning for us again. Sadly we won’t return. The decor is cool and the staff were great.

Not sure what was missing, but was an average experience. Food was good, 7/10 at best and staff were friendly. But there is something missing as we wouldn't rush back. The classic fried chicken sandwich was ok, maybe a bit bland with a bland cheese sauce. If i'm honest a McDonald's McCripsy is better. The ice cream was good but not unique. The stand out dish was the chicken crackling. Pricing is ok too and the restaurant decor was cool. You should go but lower your expectations.

We had a delicious meal here at Mollis, the food was exciting with things we hadn’t seen before and amazing. The student deal for £15 which is burger, chips and drink was great! Amazing value. Soft serve was also wonderful with some cool combinations. Service sadly wasn’t quite there. Staff were lovely but there are no menus to use only your phone. Nobody offered a second drink when empty and no condiments sadly.

I was very disappointed, I ordered the chicken tenders and they were drenched in sauce! It was completely overkill! And ruined the meal! The sauce only needed to be drizzled on. We did mention this to the witness and we was not offered a refund or for the food to be changed. What a shame!

Sadly, it did not slap. I have waited ages to go, but the food quality was poor. Great flavours and concepts, but it was drowned in sauce making it sickly. I wanted to love I needed to love it, but for £23 for a meal it didn’t live up to expectations. Gutted

Absolute rubbish, some of the worst food Iv had for a very long time. Expected so much more with the reviews. Wine like battery acid, sauces and dips inedible, this chef’s palate surely can’t be functioning! Every bite was like eating slop, didn’t think it could get any worse then the ice cream came! Surely can’t make it past 2024.

Great experience with innovative dishes (smashed cucumber was excellent) and amazing ice creams (see photo). Street art, great service and setting make it well worth a visit.

We walked in and it all seemed as if nobody knew what was going on? Service wasn’t the best. It was very cold in there too. I didn’t see any high-chairs so not facilitating for babies. We were shown to a table and then given water. Not told how to order, we just sat there. I then had to approach another member of staff for menu’s as we had no clue how to order. Once we did manage to order, the food came. It was okay - the piece of chicken in my burger was so thin I could hardly taste it. Honestly, I tasted everything else in that burger but chicken. Word of advice: take a look at Popeyes chicken in their burgers and see if you can take a leaf out of their book! Also very expensive - I could have got 5 kfc’s for the price we paid for 2 burgers and fries. Food for thought.

Food is amazing! Completely non pretentious and incredibly tasty grub! The restaurant is unique and brilliant. The staff are knowledgable, eager, and very nice!

My son told me about this place, said I should go while visiting Nottingham. Really glad I did, fabulous food, great atmosphere, great staff and a really interesting place. Not cheap but well worth it. Top find.

We really enjoyed Mollis but 86£ for chicken and chips and a non refundable 15£ per person to cover cancellation on booking when we didn’t cancel we felt completely scammed to be honest. Such a shame as we had a really good meal and experience...
